Argentina fans who are in Russia to support their nation at the ongoing world cup have described Nigerian forward, Ahmed Musa as a big threat to their continuous stay at the mundial.
Some of the Argentines in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Moscow, the Russia capital, said the Super Eagles were in better state of mind going into the match.
To Santiago Lautaro, the Super Eagles are more of a team than the Argentines.
“We only have only individual talents but not a team.
“Ahmed Musa is as dangerous as Lionel Messi but you know he has done better than the Barcelona star in Russia 2018,” Lautaro said.
Matias Franco told NAN that Musa had good statistics against his country but wished the CSKA Moskva player would not have a good day when the Super Eagles filed out against them.
“Our performance has not been good in this competition but it is not over yet.
“I hope we can have a better performance against Nigeria on Tuesday because it will be sad to leave the World Cup now.
“Our defenders must be weary of Musa’s threat, he is a good player and you remember he scored two goals against us the last time we met,” Franco said.
Augustin Nicolas, believes that his country will beat Nigeria in the last group game on Tuesday in St. Petersburg because they are the better side.
Nicolas boasted that the Argentines would get themselves better in the game against Nigeria even though he admitted that the Super Eagles are a better side.
The Super Eagles will face the Argentines for the fourth time in the World Cup at the St. Petersburg stadium on Tuesday.
D’Banj’s son Daniel Oyebanjo III died after he drowned in a swimming pool at the family residence in Ikoyi.
Here is a photo of D’Banj posing beside the swimming pool in his house.
The customized swimming pool has D’banj’s signature DB logo engraved at the bottom.
The music star had taken to his Instagram page on April 1st to post this photo of himself standing beside the pool.
Reports say this is the same swimming pool where his son’s tragic death occurred.
The corpse of the child has been reportedly moved to the morgue.
D’banj was in Los Angeles to attend the 2018 BET Awards when the death of his son occurred.
The singer marked the first birthday of his son, in May.
Meanwhile some insensitive fans are throwing tantrums and blaming the couple for the child’s death.
One Sheun on Nairaland wrote “But was no one around? Kids shouldn’t be left alone around basins of water not to talk of pools that big. This is carelessness on someone’s part. I learnt D’Banj isn’t in the country. Please we need to be careful with kids especially around bodies of water, even ordinary a bathtub filled with water can drown a kid. I hate seeing/hearing kids die cos of avoidable causes. KokoMaster sorry, may God provide a lasting child for you.”
While one Nassbros wrote”Imagine the agony the little boy must have gone through with all that water rushing into his lungs and him helplessly struggling for life cry cry
Honestly, if we had any laws in Nigeria, Dbanj should be seriously questioned and punished without mercy.
A baby must be under watch 2/4/7. Some people have absolutely no idea of what fatherhood and parenthood entails.
They think having a baby is like one of the many trophies and awards in their cupboards to flaunt and showcase to evryone, with no babycare and safety knowledge. SMH”
One Almijud wrote “RIP. But where was the mother when it happened? the only thing today ladies r good at is fighting for gender equality when they can not play their part as mothers properly.
Lesson: Marry responsible ladies!”
Instagram user, Orhibi wrote “Who was with the kid…do you know what it means to die by drowning?the baby died an horrible death.this a very big mistake damn must the baby even swim?tgis has spoilt my day ?”
More details have emerged on how Daniel Oyebanjo aka Daniel D Third, son of Nigerian singer, D’banj died in a swimming pool in their home.
A source close to the family stated that the kid died while his father was away in Los Angeles to witness the 2018 BET Awards, which saw Davido emerge Best International Act.
The source also revealed that the kid was playing with a couple of family friends who paid them a visit at their residence yesterday.
When they got carried away, the little boy wandered off into the backyard where he fell into the pool and drowned.
The boy’s body was later found inside the swimming pool by his mother who thought she left him with grown kids believing they were capable of taking care of him.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state where he was certified dead. The body of the late infant has been transferred to the mortuary.
All the while, his father D’banj was in far away Los Angeles California.
Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji, has sent her condolences to Dbanj and his family over the passing of his son.

‘I am really really sad to read about the death of your lovely son. Death of a child is the saddest thing for any parent. On behalf of my family and I, please do accept our sincerest sympathy’.
Wizkid has revealed that his goal is not to penetrate into the international music market because he doesn’t care about the international appeal.
He revealed this during a chat with BBC, where he spoke about the philosophy guiding his art.
He said that he does care about international appeal although he cares for his international fans.
He stressed that his interest is in getting his music heard, whether it’s by fans in Africa or by fans abroad.
He also said that there is no secret formula to his art, that what he does is that he keeps his music easy and simple; and that he likes the fact that his fans welcome his style of things; music and life.
The singer also spoke about the prospect of African music during the interview.
The wife of Chief Kessington Adebutu, Rosemary Adebutu whose daughter married Obasanjo’s son, Juwon has come out to reveal how his wife, Taiwo Obasanjo collected money from them and still destroyed her son’s marriage.
Since the court summons and sworn affidavit of Jonwo Obasanjo on why he wants to divorce Tope went viral last week, there have been worries from concerned friends and family members.
Even Rosemaary Adebutu whose only child is Taiwo Obasanjo’s daughter-in-law is distraught.
“Why should a man send such documents online?
First, the story was cooked up, there was no assault anywhere. They are aggrieved because there was no material gain like they assumed they would get,” she told kemiashefonlovehaven.
A former wife of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Taiwo, had in 2017 raised the alarm over what she claimed would be the evil consequences of their son, Jonwo Obasanjo marrying Tope, the daughter of the Premier Lotto boss, Kessington Adebutu aka Baba Ijebu. She also dragged Obasanjo and Adebutu to court to stop the wedding.
She was ignored and the wedding took place amidst pomp on May 11-13 respectively in Lagos.
But in less than a year after the ceremony, the union has crashed and the young Obasanjo cited domestic violence as his reason for abandoning his home.
This was debunked by a worried Mrs Adebutu said, “I have kept quiet all these months because I am not one to stoop low but I cannot sit back and watch them tell lies against my daughter. She is a magistrate and a civil servant, she cannot be responding to all their lies on the Internet.
“We will meet them in court to clear up all these lies and give them the divorce they want. They should leave us alone,we are tired and the divorce will go ahead as reported.
Did her daughter hit her husband?
Adebutu responded, “Never! Tope has never hit anyone and she is very respectful. They should not tarnish my daughter’s name and career. All these lies and press attacks are orchestrated by Olujonwo and his mum and he has been denying that he is not the one who released the court papers and exhibits to the press. How can a man bring his private matters to blogs? Is that a man?”
Revealing that former President Obasanjo and Chief Adebutu are not happy with the recent development, Mrs Adebutu exonerated her daughter from allegations levelled against her by her young husband.
“Tope’s father was called in London as well and he is not happy at all with all these lies. Tope, my daughter, has never threatened his life or abused him. Olujonwo is mentally disturbed and that is what the problem is now and he is also being manipulated by his mother.
I have called Obasanjo to register my displeasure at all the lies, I have told him they should leave my family alone.”
That Taiwo Obasanjo attempted to stop the wedding before it took place spells interferences from a mother-in-law who never liked her son’s wife.
On this, Adebutu said, “If a mother has the interest of her son at heart, even if you don’t want him to marry someone again, why take it this dirty? Get someone else for your son and stop dragging my daughter in the mud!
After this lavish wedding, it is a pity that Taiwo and her son have messed up the union. Olujonwo is on drugs and we didn’t know before now.
It was even the younger sister who reported to Obasanjo that Olujonwo is on drugs before he knew about it. He is in a rehab currently undergoing treatment but to avoid any media attention, doctors are treating him at home. So all the while Taiwo Obasanjo was shouting her son was missing, he was in a rehab!
“When the couple was living together, Sometimes he didn’t allow his wife go into his room because of the drugs.
His mother is not a good woman, she should look for somewhere to sit down and repent from disturbing the peace in her son’s home. She has called me all sorts of names— vulture and a snake— but she is worse than the names she called me.
“I am not in a cult like her. I am all for Jesus and my hands are clean. I don’t go around slandering people’s character as she does.
Taiwo Obasanjo is not happy that after collecting over N4m from Chief Kessington Adebutu, she dare not appear before him again since she has disgraced herself. How can a mother use her son as a bait for financial gain?”
”Even her son, Jonwo is angry that he has not gained anything financially from the marriage.
They should leave us alone, we are not interested in the marriage again as well. The problems are too much. They should leave my daughter alone!
I have told Chief Obasanjo also that we are done with this. Though Jonwo is denying that he put the story out there we are used to this pattern from him and his mum. Let my daughter be.”
Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed what his team-mates will do to Argentina ahead of Nigeria’s World Cup clash with them on Tuesday evening.
Iheanacho is upbeat about the Super Eagles’ chances of making it to the last sixteen.
The South Americans are on the brink of elimination from the World Cup after their humiliating 3-0 loss to Croatia on Thursday.
”They are a strong team as you know, we have played against them and we won, they wanted us to beat Iceland so that they come at us,” Iheanacho told reporters in the mixed zone.
”It is going to be a difficult game for them, we have to fight together and do everything possible to beat them in that game despite they have good players and are a quality side. We need to show them we are from Nigeria.”
The Super Eagles landed in Saint Petersburg at approximately 1925 hours local time on Sunday evening.
They will resume training for the match against Argentina tomorrow.
A 15-yr-old Nigerian rapper identified as Jordan Gbolade Jaiyeola has been stabbed to death in a fight.
The fight happened after a birthday party at a Community Centre in East London.
Three teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder and have been taken to separate police stations for questioning. The teenage drill rapper known locally as Jordan Douherty, was found with knife wounds and died at the scene.
The Met Police said they were called to the centre in Romford on Saturday night after fighting broke out after up to 100 youths mobbed the event. A witness who gave her name only as Carol said;
“it was chaos out here last night” and described hearing friends of the victim screaming and sobbing.
She told the Press Association: “Around 9.20pm I heard a lot of noise going on. For some reason it didn’t sound right. It was mostly black boys out there.
“Then I heard a lad crying down the phone ‘he’s dead, he’s dead’.
“He was lying down in the road, there was a lot of blood. The police were working on him, they tried their absolute damnedest with that boy last night.”
A teenager, who saw the aftermath of the attack and gave her name only as Ellie, added:
“There was a big group on the corner with just the boy on the floor.
“There were paramedics doing shocks and CPR on him for quite a while. The best part of an hour. After, he was just laying there with a white sheet over him, it was covered in blood.”

Angered by the continous attacks, Efe shared on social media:
“The killings in Plateau State must stop… how can people go to bury their dead be killed too.

The affected councils, Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South, were immediately placed under a dusk-to-dawn curfew by the state government.
The Police Command in Plateau state confirms the attack: “Sequel to the attack in the Gashish District of Barkin Ladi LGA yesterday (Saturday) June 23, 2018, the Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, Jos, Undie Adie, after deploying more personnel in the district sent a search and rescue team from the Command headquarters today (Sunday) for an on-the-spot assessment.

This is to update members of the public of the situation as regards the attacks in the Gashish District as promised earlier on.”
Also, there were fears that some soldiers were missing during the attack but the Commander of the Special Military Task Force codenamed Operation Safe Haven, Maj. Gen. Anthony Atolagbe, dismissed the report. He said, “it’s not true, no soldier died and no soldier is missing.”

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo to stop interfering in the affairs of the ruling party.
He said that Obasanjo had no moral justification to ask President Muhammadu Buhari not to re-contest the Presidency in 2019.
Tinubu said this at the National Convention of APC in Abuja.
He went on to describe Obasanjo as a “busy body”, arguing that the achievements of President Buhari in three years could not be compared to those of the administrations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that ruled the country for 16 unbroken years.
He also added that the ex-President, Obasanjo is not a member of the APC nor any other political party having torn his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) membership card publicly.
Mr Obasanjo was President between 1999 and 2007 on the platform of the PDP.
The former President had earlier in the year written an open letter to Mr Buhari asking him not to run for a second term because he had performed poorly.
However, the president ignored the advice as he announced at the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja that he would seek reelection next year.
Mr Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, said Mr Obasanjo did not have the right to tell the president not to run again.
He added that he was happy to be in the APC and not listening to those who advised him against associating with President Buhari.
He thanked Buhari for his tenacity and commitment to fight corruption in the country and for working hard to develop the country.
He also appreciated Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for being “a great fountain of knowledge” and for not undermining his (Vice President) leaders.
According to him, the President Buhari-led APC has adhered more to the tenets of internal democracy more than any government in the past.
This, he said, was showed at the party’s just concluded National Convention.
“We thank you that you have offered yourself to re-contest the Presidency in 2019, you must run, and you will win, ” he said.
“We have changed leaders of our party: not at gun point, ask Audu Ogbeh. Thank God we have been able to stop looting and abuse of power,” Tinubu said.
The former Lagos State Governor thanked Gov. Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, who is also the Chairman APC National Convention Planning Committee for the success recorded.
“Badaru, you have delivered, in spite of negative prediction that we will never see this day and that our party will fall apart,” he said.
Tinubu thanked the committee members for the show of dedication and commitment and for ensuring a successful national convention.
He also thanked Adams Oshiomhole, the new national chairman of the APC, saying that: “you are a true reflection of the saying that no matter how short a man is, he will see the sky.”
He assured that he would join other party leaders to support the NWC to enable it succeed on its mandate to move the party forward.
He admonished the new NWC members to work hard for the party because its members had put their trust in them and would not afford to fail.
He said, “In trust we put you; that trust you cannot abuse. We will be with you, support you and the day we need to fight you, we will fight.”
“The ‘pigs’ and their fortune tellers predicted the party will fall apart but I thank the (National Convention) committee for making the convention a success,” he said.

The Nigerian Entertainment industry as a whole has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of DBanj’s son, Daniel, who is just 13-months-old… He reportedly drowned in a pool yesterday.
Fans and celebrities can’t seem to get over the news, have all taken to social media to mourn the death of Daniel, who only celebrated his first birthday a month ago.
Don Jazzy wrote, ‘Just heard the worst news in a long time’.
Dbanjs manager, Frank Amudo also wrote, ‘Trying Times Try God. He Is Still Worthy Of All Our Praises ..
In a very sad turn of events, Nigerian singer Dbanj and his wife Lineo Didi Kilgrow have today lost their son Daniel.
The music star who arrived Los Angeles two days ago to attend the 2018 BET Awards is reported to have lost his only son, Daniel D’Third who celebrated his 1st birthday just one month ago.
According to insiders, Daniel reportedly drowned in a pool yesterday.
A quick check on D’banj’s Instagram page showed beautiful photos of his father and son moment with Daniel.
There’s no official statement from Dbanj to confirm the news but he shared an ‘All black’ image on his instagram page minutes ago with the caption, ‘trying Times. But my God is Always and Forever Faithful’.
Seyi Shay and Kizz Daniel have been captured in a video cuddling and having fun on the set of the musical video for ‘I surrender’ off Seyi Shay’s ‘Electric Package’ EP.
Meanwhile the Management of G-Worldwide Entertainment had earlier on released a statement to inform the general public that the matter of G-Worldwide Entertainment Ltd v Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe before the Federal High Court, Lagos Division, is still ongoing contrary to the fake news being peddled by the artiste and his advisers to mislead the public.
Following several requests and inquiries by Nigerian and foreign online media and entertainment outfits about the status of the matter, it has become needful to notify the public of the current state of facts.
The suit at the Federal High Court last came up on 16th May 2018 whereupon our lawyers informed the Judge of a pending application for status quo to further restrain the rebellious acts of the artiste in view of the recent release of previously unreleased songs from the Evolution album, as well as the continued use of the name Kiss Daniel without our approval. The Judge emphatically told the Kiss’ lawyers to explore a settlement of the dispute as he does not believe the matter is one which should go to trial and that the lawyers should report on any settlement at the next adjourned date, 26th June 2018. We are unaware at the time of this release that the lawyers to Kiss have submitted any proposal with terms of settlement to our legal team.
It also interesting to inform the public that the Court was informed about the artiste’s release of the new song titled 4 Dayz, and For you a collaborated with WizKid , which are songs from the Evolution album, the ownership of which forms the subject matter of the suit at Federal High Court. We therefore need to let the public know that these releases demonstrate that the artiste is on a trip to put the credibility of other artistes whom he collaborates with in question.
We are also aware that the artiste has released the video of 4 Days, done a collaboration with Sheyi Shay titled Surrender, and another song Me ke with Omawunmi by changing his name from ‘’Kiss Daniel’’ to ‘‘Kizz Daniel’’. Let the whole world also take note that G-Worldwide is also the owner of the name ‘‘Kizz Daniel’’ (see acceptance and acknowledgement documents from the Ministry of Trade & Investment).
All digital platforms have been put on notice for take down of infringing materials where the name Kizz Daniel is in use, and we have responded to foreign and local media outfits on this issue following calls for clarification. We also wish to formally inform the public that the artiste’s use of the names Kiss Daniel and Kizz Daniel amount to breach of the company’s intellectual property rights. The company further advises the general public and other artistes to desist from engaging the artiste in respect of the names and contact the company’s management to confirm any information or proposal from the artist or his advisers which we believe are calculated to deceive.
We shall also not hesitate to take appropriate legal action to obtain judicial redress where necessary for such infringements.
On April 18, 2018 at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London, Nigeria’s President listened as other commonwealth leaders chose to promote their countries and people and when it got to his turn, President Muhammadu Buhari chose to describe Nigeria’s youth as a lazy and uneducated.
President Buhari said:
“We have a very young population, our population is estimated to be 196 million in 2018. This is a very conservative one. More than 60 percent of the population is below 30, a lot of them haven’t been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria is an oil producing country, therefore, they should sit and do nothing, and get housing, healthcare, education free”.
This would not be the first, second or even third time Muhammadu Buhari has disparaged Nigerians to the international community. On February 5, 2016, he told the Telegraph of the UK that the reputation Nigerians have for crime has made them unwelcome in the West.
In the case of the Lazy Nigerian youth statement, what was worse is that when given the opportunity to dial back from that statement, the Presidency released a statement the next day (April 19, 2018) explaining that what the President meant is that most, but not all, Nigerian youths were lazy.
Even if I tried to make it up, my fiction could not match the unprecedented cluelessness of President Buhari and his media team.
How can a President who cannot name one project that he initiated, started and completed in the last three call Nigeria’s youth who have accomplished many great things in the same period, lazy?
Since the President’s favourite pastime is to blame his ineptitude on his predecessors rather than take responsibility and lead from the front as he promised, I would like to single out one of such youths as a role model to President Buhari.
During the Nigeria versus Iceland World Cup game that took place on Friday April 22, 2018, Ahmed Musa brought more joy to Nigerians in 90 minutes than Buhari has brought to Nigeria in three years. He did not engage in Buhari’s pastime of blame game. Neither did he make excuses to justify failure. This young Nigerian youth just scored. And to prove it was not a fluke, he scored again.
I personally believe that Ahmed Musa would do a better job of governing Nigeria than the inept tyrant who called Nigerian youths like Ahmed Musa ‘lazy and uneducated’! (Almost anyone would do a better job of ruling than a man who still thinks that there is a country called West Germany).
And if all Ahmed Musa did was to prove to Buhari that Nigeria’s youth are not lazy, he would have done enough. But that was not all he proved. Not by a long shot!
President Buhari is notorious for being against any attempt to restructure Nigeria and prefers the status quo which has set Nigeria backwards and to borrow the words of Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, made “the country look big for nothing before international circles”.
Ahmed Musa has proven President Buhari’s fears to be unfounded by establishing once and for all that talents abound in all parts of Nigeria and that no part of Nigeria will lose out if we restructure and replace ethnicity with merit. If not for this Northerner names Ahmed Musa, Nigeria would have had little hope in this #RussiaWorldCup2018. All Nigerians matter.
If there is anything President Buhari can learn from Ahmed Musa’s feat, it is that Nigerians want a leader that can deliver results, like Ahmed Musa, not one that delivers activity, like Muhammadu Buhari.
Nigerians need a leader with vision, one who gives hardworking youths opportunities instead of rewarding degenerate terrorists openings that should go to youths who can really contribute to Nigeria’s growth.
?Let me at this point go on record as saying that I am shocked at the alleged plans by the Buhari administration to recruit ‘repentant’ Boko Haram members into the police. Thank God the Christian Association of Nigeria has rejected the evil plan. How can terrorists police us?
Next, Buhari will recruit herdsmen in the army if he has not already done so! Must this government show its open bias in favour of one religion over the other? What is this madness? Will Donald Trump or Theresa May ask their respective police forces to recruit former jihadists or alqaeda members? All Nigerians must reject this devilish plan! ?
And while our youths like Ahmed Musa continue to advance the frontiers of Nigeria’s greatness, Buhari and his team persist in diminishing Nigeria by their unprecedented hypocrisy.
For instance, on Thursday June 21, 2018, Buhari while delivering the keynote address at the opening of the International Press Institute (IPI) World Congress at the Conference Centre of the Presidential Villa, asked journalists to halt fake news.
Really? Is this not the same Buhari who lied that there was no fuel subsidy and that Jonathan was deceiving Nigerians only for him to get into power and start paying double the subsidy Jonathan paid even after increasing fuel price?
At the same event, Buhari also appealed to journalists not to carry hate speech, yet his own spokeswoman calls the Christian Association of Nigeria a ‘CAN of worms’. How hypocritical can the President be? Aso Rock under Buhari has become the headquarters of hate speech and fake news in Nigeria.
The truth is that Buhari has proved to Nigeria’s youth that he should be in Daura spending his pension rather than being at Aso Rock directing their futures.
Before I end this piece though, permit me to say something about a Nigerian youth that is my inspiration and hero
?Four months ago, Leah Sheribu was abducted by Boko Haram, who continue to hold her captive because she refused to abandon her faith in Jesus. I wish feminists, like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, could use their celebrity to focus the world’s attention on Leah. Leah may not be Hillary or chivalry, but she is worthy of heraldry
President Muhammadu Buhari appears to have forgotten all about Leah. He did not mention her in his Democracy Day speech that was riddled with lies. And when the Christian Association of Nigeria reminds the President of his duty to rescue Leah and prevent the killings of Nigerians by his herdsmen kinsmen, his spokeswoman Insulted them by calling CAN a CAN of worms. If you have read this, please can you stop what you are doing and just say a prayer for the safe return of Leah? ?
