Iheanacho is upbeat about the Super Eagles’ chances of making it to the last sixteen.
The South Americans are on the brink of elimination from the World Cup after their humiliating 3-0 loss to Croatia on Thursday.
”They are a strong team as you know, we have played against them and we won, they wanted us to beat Iceland so that they come at us,” Iheanacho told reporters in the mixed zone.
”It is going to be a difficult game for them, we have to fight together and do everything possible to beat them in that game despite they have good players and are a quality side. We need to show them we are from Nigeria.”

A student of the Lagos State University (LASU), identified as Kingsley Gabriel, today, jumped into the Lagos Lagoon, just weeks after a woman was alleged to have jumped into the lagoon in the state.
According to what we gathere, Gabriel jumped from Falomo bridge into the Lagoon at around 11 am with no reasons for his action.
Confirming the act, General Manager, Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, Mr. Damilola Emmanuel, lamented that the act was becoming rampant worrisome on Lagos waterways.
According to him, the student was quickly rescued from drowning in the water by LASWA rescue officials who responded swiftly to the incident, jumping into the lagoon to prevent him from drowning.
An official of LASWA hinted that after his rescue, Gabriel was taken to the Falomo Police Station, for onward interrogation. It was not clear why Gabriel decided to end his life by jumping from the Falomo Bridge into the water, even as efforts to interview the student proved abortive. Efforts to get the Police Public Relation Officer, Chike Oti, proved abortive.
He didn’t return calls and text sent to him. It would be recalled that a woman was said to have jumped into the Lagoon from Third Mainland Bridge and was never seen since then.
Following the tragic news of the death of his son, the Lagos State Police Command have offered condolences to the singer’s family and share their grief.

Rap couple, Cardi B and Offset are allegedly a married couple already – this claim can is backed with a document as proof.
The rapper, one of the trio, Migos, has been known to refer to Cardi B as his wife and the public thought he was only using the word loosely but it turns out they aren’t just engaged but are legally married.
Matter of factly, they didn’t get married last month but last year!
When Migos won Best Group Sunday at the BET Awards, Offset said excitedly:
“I thank my wife. You should thank yours.”
After his confusing statement, TMZ unearthed a marriage certificate in Fulton County, GA on Sept. 20, 2017. The certificate looks legit and has both of their names on it.
Should this be real, that means the couple was already married before their very public engagement which happened in October during their performance in Philly.
A while ago, the pregnant rapper who is expecting her first child with her ‘husband’, took to Instagram to thank her unborn baby girl for giving her a whole ‘new pair of boobs’.
In a video, she shared on her page, the rapper who is seven months pregnant, told her 24 million fans:
‘You see what my child is doing to me? T***ies is getting bigger. B***h don’t have to go and get her t***es done no more. I got a whole new pair of t***ies,’
‘Got to go to Victoria’s Secret to get me a new bra. Do you see my mother f***in hair? This s*** growing and growing. You see my skin? Look like a b***h put moisturizer on, but I just woke up.’
Cardi added: ‘You know what, I be getting really bad heartburn and sometimes I just loose my breath, the mood swings be crazy, but my child do me good. I feel good.’
Amidst the war going on between her sisters Rahmayi and Hauwa, Rukiyat Indimi-Dantata posted this on her Instagram page few days ago.
The post read:
“My sister’s wedding is next week, I m supposed to be on a diet…”
She seems to indicate that she has no issue with Hauwa’s marriage to Mohammed Ya’Adua, who dated another sister, Fatima.
Recall earlier we had posted the news about the war going on between the sisters.
Hauwa is about to be handed in marriage to Mohammed, a son of the late NNPC MD, Abubakar Yar’Adua, who was once reported to have dated another Indimi sister, Fatima.
According to ThisDay, it is also a known fact that Mohammed went on to date President Buhari’s daughter, Zahra, now Ahmed Indimi’s wife, after he broke up with Fatima. .
Ostensibly, this has created some bad blood among the sisters, as they have been polarised in support for and opposition to the planned wedding which is to take place next week. .
According to the report, indications of an imminent hostility among these siblings emerged in March this year when Hauwa got engaged with Mohammed.
Her engagement did not appear to have gone down well with few of her sisters and the messy affair was taken to Instagram where they threw shades at one another.
A church has officially opened in Ghana and is calling for more members and from what has been gathered, the specialty of the church is ritual money.
Sakawa is the euphemism for ritual money and it’s a practice which is looked down on in the Ghanaian society yet it is practiced secretly by mostly the youth who is in search of quick and easier wealth.
From the video, the Pastor is seen chanting and invoking for money whiles the members hold red burning candles and chanting along with him.
Interestingly, there are both the young and the old in the church and the official dress code for the church is either red or black.
According to Cool FM’s OAP, Daddy Freeze, an engaged couple can have sex and would not be termed as fornication.
He said the word fornication comes from the Greek word, ‘pornea’ which means prostitution or Love Peddler mongering.
Read his post which he attached biblical backings to below:
An engaged couple having sex is not, has never been and can never be FORNICATION!. – The word that king james translated into the English word Fornication is the greek word ‘pornea’ which meant prostitution or LovePeddler mongering. At no time was pornea associated with a young couple who are engaged and having sex, that’s the English definition by King James who many believe, with alleged historical evidence, was either gay or bisexual himself. – The greatest prostitution (pornea) is idolatry which is practiced in many churches today, where the congregation idolizes their pastor to the point where they choose him over God. – Here is what the Bible says: – ◄ Hebrews 13:4 ► King James Bible Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. – Although many translations have substituted the words ‘fornication’ and the phrases ‘sexual immorality’ and ‘sexual sins’ for ‘pornea’ its wrong, here King James has the closest translation ‘LovePeddler mongering’ which means patronizing prostitutes and practicing prostitution which is actually what Pornea means. – The Old Testament is even clearer on this, as prostitution is likened to idolatry. – ◄ Ezekiel 23 ► New Living Translation [19] Yet she turned to even greater prostitution, remembering her youth when she was a prostitute in Egypt. [20] She lusted after lovers with genitals as large as a donkey’s and emissions like those of a horse. [49] You will be fully repaid for all your prostitution—your worship of idols. Yes, you will suffer the full penalty. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.” – ◄ Hosea 1:2 ► New Living Translation When the LORD first began speaking to Israel through Hosea, he said to him, “Go and marry a prostitute, so that some of her children will be conceived in prostitution. This will illustrate how Israel has acted like a prostitute by turning against the LORD and worshiping other gods.
The owner of an Abuja-based Barbers shop identified as Alfred Umoh, has taken to Facebook to send an interesting proposition to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Writing on his Facebook page, the young man said that rather than the President spending the budgeted N86million on haircuts, he is willing to give him free hair cuts for the whole year.
Controversial actor and active member of Instagram, Uche Maduagwu has sent words of encouragement to Omotunde Adebowale a.k.a. Lolo1, who was body-shamed after she shared a picture of the outfit she rocked for a recent event.
Encouraging her, he said she is as beautiful as Cee-C of big brother naija, that she shouldn’t let Haters get to her.
His post:
@officiallolo1 You are as beautiful as @ceec_official don’t let HATERS body shame you… Honestly, I’m so angry right now, someone just showed me a post where some good for nothing haters were BODY shaming @officiallolo1 because of her outfit, its pestiferous and blatantly irritating to know that these HATERS are “women”, like seriously, when exactly are women ever going to start supporting each other?❤
You see a fellow woman dress in an outfit that makes her feel comfortable, instead of you to appreciate her, or keep your dirty mouth under your repulsive Armpit, you’ll start pulling her down with words, is it your #DRESS?
Dear @officiallolo1 you are as #beautiful as @ceec_official because the TRUE #beauty of a woman is buried deeply in the tablet of her #HEART, and flows like a river all over the corridors of her #body.
The same people Hating on you are the abominable idiots who support and shower praises on those whose GENDER has been exchanged for CHEAP bend down select “Bra” in #Nigeria.
Zayyan Gwandu, son of Haliru Gwandu Abubakar, the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Special Anti-Robbery, has died.
Zayyan was one of the victims of reprisal attacks following the killings in three local government areas of Plateau State by suspected herdsmen.
Popular social commentator Gimba Kakanda shared the news of Zayyans death on Twitter, writing: “I’m devastated to learn about the killing of Zayyan Gwandu in the Plateau clash. He’s one of the travellers stopped and killed for sharing a religion or ethnicity with Fulani herdsmen. Killing fellow human beings for the wrong of people they don’t even know is savagery. Wow. RIP.”
Subsequently, Kakanda wrote on Facebook: “Citizens getting stopped and killed for sharing an ethnicity, religion or culture with criminals they don’t even know? Is this the overflowing anarchy we call a country? Of course I know what we have done wrong, Nigeria. Millions of things. We are here because we have been pretending that we don’t notice these killings and destructions until the victims begin to seek an illusion of justice in the wrong place.”
Although Kakanda refrained from revealing the identity of the deceased, SaharaReporters independently verified that he was CP Gwandu’s son.
“Yes, it is true that the CP’s son is no more,” a source very close to the Gwandu family told SaharaReporters, before asking to say no more as “this is a trying time for the CP’s family”.
Zayyan’s death marks an elongation of a very difficult period of time, personally and professionally, for CP Gwandu.
The SARS, which he oversees, has recently come under public scrutiny on account of the high-handedness and criminal activities of its officials. Following the relentlessness of the anti-SARS campaign, Gwandu was forced to announce a repositioning of the squad.
In December 2017, he announced that the Nigeria Police Force had begun the process of dissolving the federal and state SARS into one unit that would be under the supervision of the commissioners of police of each command.
He said a lot of changes had taken place, and that there would be training and retraining of personnel of the unit to enhance efficiency. He explained that after the re-organisation, the unit would only concentrate on violent crimes such as murder, armed robbery and cultism. He also promised that at the completion of the ongoing re-organisation of the unit, extrajudicial killings by SARS would be a thing of the past.
Some months before then, Gwandu had been forced out of Edo State as the CP, following intense campaigns by citizens and a coalition of civil society groups over the rising crime rate in the state.
The reprisal that claimed his son was a reaction by Christians to killings of about 100 people by suspected Fulani herdsmen in many villages in Riyom, Barkin ladi and Jos South local government areas of Plateau.
Before the news of CP Gwandu’s son’s death filtered in, a source in Plateau had lamented the under-reported reprisals, telling SaharaReporters: “I lost four friends on the road; they were butchered. Birnin youth were killing all Muslims on the road. One of them clearly picked my friend’s phone and said to me, ‘We’ve killed him. Are they not the two Muslims in E-Class?’
An Igbosere High Court in Lagos on Monday remanded a 48-year-old female lawyer, Udeme Otike-Odibi, at Kirikiri prison for killing her 52-year-old husband, Symphorosa Otike-Odibi, and also chopping off his penis.
Udeme, 47, was arraigned by the Lagos State Government on a two-count charge of murder and misconduct with regard to a corpse.
She however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Lagos State Prosecutor, Mr Sunmonu Babatunde, had told the court that the accused committed the alleged offences on May 3, at Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Lekki, Lagos.
He said that the accused stabbed her husband and mutilated his corpse by cutting his genitals.
The offences contravened Sections 165 (b) and 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Section 165 (b) provides five-year imprisonment while Section 223 is punishable by death.
Justice Adedayo Akintoye, however remanded the accused in prison and adjourned the case until Oct. 8 and 9 for hearing.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the accused first appeared before a Yaba Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in prison pending the Directorate of Public Prosecutions legal advice.
Symphorosa Otike- Odibi, the murdered lawyer, from Delta State, was the second person killed by a female lawyer.
The first lawyer to commit the crime was Mrs. Yewande Oyediran, working with the Oyo State Ministry of Justice.
Yewande stabbed her husband, Lowo Oyediran Ajanaku, 38, to death in their Akobo Estate home in Ibadan, Oyo State home on February 2, 2016, after she found out that he fathered a child through another woman.
The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) says the raid by suspected herdsmen on three local governments in Plateau State were a retaliation of the loss of cows in recent times.
More than 100 people were killed on Saturday night when suspected herdsmen attacked many villages in Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Jos South local government areas of the state.
Commenting on the tragedy via a statement on Monday, Danladi Ciroma, Chairman, North-Central zone of the cattle breeders’ association, said herdsmen in the state had lost “about 300 cows in the last few weeks”.
“These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission,” Ciroma said.
“There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well-known to the communities but the communities are hiding them.
“Fulani herdsmen have lost about 300 cows in the last few weeks — 94 cows were rustled by armed Berom youth in Fan village, another 36 cows were killed by Berom youth. In addition to that, 174 cattle were rustled and the criminals disappeared with them to Mangu [Local Government].
“Since these cows were not found, no one should expect peace in the areas. Even soldiers that went after the criminals to recover the rustled cows were shot by the armed rustlers and eventually escaped with all the cows.
“The government of Governor Lalong has done a lot to restore peace, but the criminal elements hiding among their people are the ones frustrating these peace efforts.”
He urged security agencies to be fair to all parties, saying they should neglect any report presented by the Fulani “because such report can lead to attacks and deaths if not properly handled”.
“Criminals thrive a lot in Berom communities, but when the Fulani, who are always victims of their crime, react with attacks, they blame the government,” he added.
Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Ifu Ennada has announced that she is sick and needs prayers from fans.

Lawyers on social media believe the Nigerian State could have a case against D’banj over the seeming careless manner his child passed on.
According the pool of public opinions, the circumstances through which the toddler passed on reeks of recklessly and his guardians might have a date with the law to explain their roles in the accident.
In most states, child abuse or negligence may be charged as either a felony or a less serious offence, depending on the circumstances.
The most severe cases of child abuse can carry felony lifetime sentences, while the least serious cases are considered gross misdemeanors which could potentially result in no prison time.
Punishment will typically be more severe if the offender has a prior record of criminal child abuse activity and greatly reduced if there is no prior record.
For sentencing purposes, a person charged with child abuse or negligence may enter a plea of guilty, not guilty, or no contest. In a large number of cases, sentencing can include probation or a prison term of up to five years. Sentencing in more serious cases may include a longer prison term.
Other possible penalties and/or consequences can include:
Lifetime requirement to register as a child sexual offender
Termination of parental rights
Ruined reputation
No right to bear a child
Criminal record
Supervised access to the child
Physical or actual loss and enjoyment of a child
Continual involvement with a child protective services agency.
In as much as the Nigerian social media space has been saturated by sympathizers, some people have frankly recommended that the pool should be hedged to serve as a barrier that protects kids from drowning.

A sculptured cake in the likeness of Lionel Messi has been made by Moscow confectioners in celebration of the Argentine’s 31st birthday.
The cake which took nearly a week to make was done when the confectioners learnt that the star player will be having his birthday while still in Russia where the 2018 FIFA world cup is taking place.
“We found out by chance that it was Messi’s birthday on June 24,”said chief confectioner Daria Malkina. “And we thought, ‘why not make Leo a gift, a chocolate sculpture of himself’?”
“We will give Lionel Messi to Lionel Messi,” Malkina said, laughing.
The large cake was put on display in Bronnitsy, a town located about 50 kilometers from Moscow where the Albeceleste of Argentina are based for the tournament.
The Barcelona forward also had his own celebration with fellow team mates at their camp in Russia.
The Argentines are currently preparing to play against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a final group D game which will determine their continual stay at the world cup.
They drew their first match 1-1 against Iceland with Messi missing a spot kick that would have seen him put his team in front. They got embarrassed 3-0 by Croatia in their second game.
Last night, the awful news of Dbanj son’s death broke and it caused a division online.
Many have consoled and sent in condolence messages to the Oyebanjos.
However, some insensitive Nigerians have chosen to blame the parents for the boy’s death after he reportedly drowned in the pool in their Ikoyi residence.
A Nigerian woman and Facebook user, has penned this thoughtful piece in defence of Dbanj and his wife, Didi Kilgrow.
Read below:
Your mind must be really twisted if you blame Dbanj’s wife over their son’s death.
That your own children or those in your custody are alive is not your making.
In 2016 while Fanu was in phototherapy, a woman rushed in with her son. She was breastfeeding him, he started coughing and suddenly stopped breathing. Sounds trivial, but the boy was dead already. Nothing could be done to bring him back.
Do you know how many children swallow breast milk wrong? Do they all die?
Have you heard of SIDS?
Do you know a very healthy baby the night before could be found dead in the morning?
I know of a woman in 2005 in Mopa, Kogi State who slept on her child and killed her. In error. Only those who knew how she had suffered over said child did not call her a witch.
Someone even said when they will not stop leaving children with childminders. How’s that a sin?
My children are off to creche from their 3rd month of life and nothing will happen to them.
My own creche takes newborn. Nothing will happen to them.
Some mothers die at child birth and leave the child behind. Do these children not live?
My heart goes out to the Oyebanjis. Sending you love, light and hugs.
P.S. Don’t ever wish to be in those shoes. The pains are horrible and indescribable.
As it’s commonplace for some peculiar social media users to take to the pages or accounts of celebrities to condemn them on either their fashion sense or lifestyle or whatever they want to troll them for, Omotunde Adebowale-David better known as OAP Lolo is the recent victim of this circumstance.
After the OAP took to her page to share a quite daring photo of herself donning net socks and a mini skirt that boldly displayed her belly, a fan wondered if she took a look at herself before she stepped out in the outfit.
The fan wrote in the comment section,
“Dnt you look at your body before you wear cloths after you will say you are doing night vigil 4 who na”
To which Lolo replied,
@aris.joey judge and jury
Persisting, the fan then responded to her as thus,
“People praising you are the ones mocking you ….please this outfit doesn’t look good on you .Take it or leave it , Thank you”
Now, she’s taken to her page to address the troll, saying that if it were years back, she woulda been bothered but right about now, she loves herself and she’s less bothered about what others have to say.
President Rodrigo Duterte of Philippines caused a stir in the orthodox Catholic country for calling God “stupid” but his spokesman on Monday defended the contentious statement as his personal belief.
The president made the statement on Friday evening during a speech in his southern home city of Davao, where he questioned God’s logic in the Biblical creation story of Adam and Eve.
“Adam ate (the fruit of knowledge), then malice was born. Who is this stupid God?” he said. “That son of a bitch is stupid if that’s the case.
“You created something perfect and then you think of an event that would tempt and destroy the quality of your work.”
Duterte also questioned the rationale of original sin, noting,
“That was your mother and father’s deed – you weren’t born yet, but now you have original sin.
“What kind of religion is that? I can’t accept it.”
Amid the criticisms over his statements, presidential spokesman Harry Roque urged the public to accept that Duterte tends to use strong language when he expresses his beliefs.
“That is the personal belief of the president,” he said. “We are free to believe in religion and we are also free not to believe in religion.
“The president has his personal spiritual beliefs.”
“We cannot fault the president if he has no sense of hypocrisy and we should accept that because even when he was just a candidate, he never hid that from us,” he added.
According to Sbs.com.au, Duterte has in the past lambasted the Catholic Church in the Philippines, where more than 80 per cent of the population practices the religion, calling priests out for allegations of corruption and sexual abuse.
In light of the tragic event of Nigerian music mogul, D’Banj losing his first son to drowning in a pool inside his house, more details have emerged concerning the tragic incident.
Newer details have been shared on the circumstances surrounding the death of little Daniel Oyebanjo III aka Daniel D Third, the only child of star singer Dapo Oyebanjo Dbanj.
According to a source close to the couple, Daniel was playing with a couple of family friends who paid them a visit at their residence in Ikoyi Lagos on Sunday when the boy wandered away into the backyard where he fell into the pool.
His mother who left the boy with grown kids believing that they are capable of taking care of him later learnt that the boy body was found inside the pool.
He was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state where he was certified dead – as at that time, his father is in far away Los Angeles California for the 2018 Black Star Entertainment Awards.
The body of the late infant has been transferred to the mortuary.
Few weeks ago, after the singer shared this video on his IG page, a fan had warned him to be watchful of the toddler passing by the indoor pool.
It’s only but sad that what he was warned about became eventualized.
The fan wrote,
Dbanj a pool indoors and your baby passing by the pool….hmm pls be careful, tell wife and caregivers to keep an eye on him o… some chilling are risky
The Chairman of the North Central Zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has reacted to the recent attack on Plateau villages by suspected herdsmen, where over 86 people were killed.
According to Daily Post, the Plateau Police Command on Sunday confirmed the killing of 86 persons in the attacks on Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government.
Ciroma in a statement claimed that the attack was in retaliation of the killing of over 300 cows in the last few weeks by the villagers.
He said despite the efforts of the state government, some criminal elements hiding among their people were still frustrating the peace efforts.
“These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission.
“There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well known to the communities but the communities are hiding them.

“Criminals thrive a lot in Berom communities, but when the Fulani, who are always victims of their crime, react with attacks, they blame the government.
“These communities have leaders, why hide the criminals? They should fish out the criminals and hand them over to security agencies to avoid death of innocent ones.
“As it is today, the Berom man cannot go to farm, the Fulani cannot breed his cows in Berom Land. This can be stopped if the security agencies do more than what they are currently doing.
The attacks will stop as soon as the security agencies stop Berom youths from stealing Fulani cows” he added.
