Meghan Markle may officially be a royal now, but she’s still taking risks!
The former Suits Star opted for a custom-made pale pink Carolina Herrera dress on Saturday when she made her Trooping the Colour debut.
According to PEOPLE, the short sleeve dress marks a stray from tradition, as the ladies of the royal family typically opt for long sleeve options at the annual Trooping the Colour.
Meghan’s new sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, has always worn a sleeve that comes past the elbow since making her Trooping debut in 2011.
Princess Diana also never wore a short-sleeved look to the official celebration of the Queen’s birthday from her first appearance in 1981.
Though she’s only been a royal since her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry, breaking protocol is nothing new for Meghan.
She didn’t wear nude pantyhose to her engagement photo call in November, she went with her signature messy bun during numerous engagements (including her wedding) and she gave a 10-year-old girl an autograph during a visit to Cardiff Castle in Wales (a royal no-no!).

Nigerian Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus has warned the public to stop tagging her in SARS-harassment related posts.
According to her, she didn’t start the security body and so she can’t end it. She says her duty is to feed the public with information about the police.
She wrote,
Hey! Stop tagging me to #Endsars kindly note that I didn’t start SARS and cannot end SARS! So I will appreciate if you can stop telling me to Endsars, my duty is to feed the public about police information and police about the public! Vice versa….I have written an open letter to the bad eggs in SARS! That’s my stand concerning them! #ifyouknowyouknow! So it’s a waste of time and data to be channeling #Endsars to me, kindly channel your request accordingly. Merci Mille fois. Only tag me about police misdeeds or inactions! I can’t end SARS, I didn’t start it……
Few days ago, she wrote an open letter to the operatives, telling them that not all young successful boys are yahoo boys.
She wrote,
OPEN LETTER TO SARS OPERATIVES.
Bad eggs within the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), please be informed that not all good looking young men out there are “yahoo yahoo” boys, a lot of them are young Nigerians “hustling” up and down to make ends meet.
Kindly note that some young upcoming stars believe that weaving, plaiting and designing their hairs rastafarianly is another way to be accepted as an entertainer (even though most times it doesn’t appeal to me). Some couple of days ago, I saw the son of a high ranking officer with a dreadlock hair style, does that Indicate that he’s a fraudster?! Hell “No”, that young man is well trained and brought up, he’s just shooting his shot in the entertainment world. It will therefore be highly unfair for any security agent to arrest him under the guise of being a yahoo boy.
Dear colleagues in SARS, can we do more in combating violent crimes?! Can we take a clue from the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team whose main aim has been to rid the nation of criminal elements? This team has done a lot to protect our nation, they always sacrifice their comfort and sleep ! By so doing they’ve been able to abort violent crimes such as kidnapping, armed robberies etc. They have not only rescued victims but made arrests (Evans, Offa robbery etc).
Dear SARS we appreciate the ones among you doing what is right while we advise the bad eggs to take a clue from IRT team and stop causing pains to legit young men and their families. Please note that it is not right to accost anyone on the road and start checking his or her phone, respect people’s privacy and rights!…THANK YOU. God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria, God bless Nigeria Police Force.
Popular Nigerian reggae artiste, Ras Kimono, is dead – a close family source confirmed this to Channels Television in a telephone interview on Sunday.
The source revealed that the reggae musician was rushed to a hospital in Ikoyi after he slumped on Saturday. He added that Ras Kimono later died in the hospital on Sunday.
Also confirming the death, a factional Chairman of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Tony Okoroji told Channels Television that he had visited the legendary reggae musician in the hospital.
Okoroji, who said he shook hands with Ras Kimono, lamented, “This is a terrible loss to the music industry”.
“COSON deeply regrets to announce the passing on of a frontline member of our board – great African and great musician, the reggae toaster, the great Ras Kimono Onwubuya,” he added in a text.
Similarly, President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Mr Pretty Okafor, said he was shocked when he received the news that the reggae artiste had died.
Ras Kimono rose to stardom after the release of his debut album ‘Under Pressure’ in the late ‘80s.
His style of music was significantly influenced by the hardship he experienced in his early life.
The late reggae music icon won several awards including the Nigeria Music Awards and Fame Music Awards among others.

Mercy Aigbe and Toyin Abraham, both of Edo blood are very close friends, or so it seemed, until questions cropped up last week concerning their relationship.
The Alakada actress, Toyin Abraham, was the first to raise dusts when she posted on her Instagram page that the Osas star, Mercy Aigbe, has been a hypocrite of a friend to her and was responsible for her marriage break up.
They had an altercation a while ago, where Toyin accused her of ruining her marriage. However, she later came out to say she was only playing pranks.
In her words, she said:
“The Ghost and the Tout’ it did not go viral but within few minutes of calling out Mercy Aigbe it went viral and lots of people have been messaging her”.
For their fans, it was a huge disappointment as they were poised for a long fight and a thrilling entertainment.
But then again, later reports had it that they had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
To set the records straight, Potpourri put a call across to Mercy Aigbe who responded that nothing is amiss between her and her friend, Toyin.
“Don’t mind the bloggers,” she said. “There’s no problem between me and Toyin. It was a stunt by Toyin as famously explained by her. The bloggers only feasted on it to make business,”
Convincing? Potpourri asked her about ‘unfollowing’ each other on Instagram and her response was that of bewilderment.
“There is no truth in that either. That is easy to find out, you can check it yourself to confirm,” she offered, sounding disinterested in further conversation.
However, Potpourri check has revealed that indeed the two delectable ladies, divorced and single have truly ‘unfollowed’ each other as widely reported.

Rohr is now restricting the players who are camped in Austria from some certain meals as he bids to keep them in good condition for the tournament.
In an interview with Omasports TV, Gernot stated that the Super Eagles players will not be permitted to eat goat meat, pepper soup, and other spicy foods.
He said; “The reason is because nutritionist will tell you that too much spicy foods is not good for athletes.
“We have to observe what they tell us, and the medical team agreed that we cannot eat too much fat and too much spice.”

The Ghana-Meets-Naija event has come and gone.. and one of the high moments of the night was when Wizkid and Shatta reconciled and even performed together on stage.
Recall, Shatta once threatened Wizkid, warning him not to come to Ghana.. Apparently, it all started when the self-acclaimed king of Ghanaian dancehall music criticized Nigerian music sensation, Wizkid.
In the interview with Kasapa FM, Shatta expressed his displeasure over how Ghanaians, especially celebrities like, put Wikzid on a pedestal.
According to him, there is nothing exceptional about the afrobeats singer. He said Wizkid should be starstruck when he sees him (Shatta Wale).
“I will not see Wizkid and be stunned, I rather want him to see me and be amazed because I don’t see anything extraordinary about him, even though he claims to the best African artiste”, he said.
This of course caused uproar on social media, with many Nigerians and even Ghanaians attacking Shatta.
Even some Ghanaians apologized to Nigerians for the Shatta’s behaviour.. and we didn’t even see it coming.
Shatta during one of his rant, took to Facebook to share a video of himself with a gun, where he then threatened Wizkid.
Apparently, it seems as though the ‘spat’ is over as they singers have both put that behind them and reconciled!
Some fans are basking in the euphoria of the love between Chefchi and Davido as shortly after their slight couple’s quarrel, the two step out in style for a make up date night.
It was earlier reported that Chioma had walked out on David who was obviously pissing her off, for some reason.
It happened that there was a viral you-tube video capturing Davido’s girlfriend, Chioma Avril Rowland, lashing out on him yesterday afternoon in London.
It appeared that she was in no mood for the singer over an undisclosed issue, however, Davido was heard telling his friend to tell her that he is international.
Wanting to salvage the situation, his unnamed friend decided to make the now viral video with the hope that the assurance bae would cheer up but she wasn’t having any of it as she was heard saying ” Leave me alone…”, walking away from him angrily.
As predicted by fans, it was nothing out of the ordinary and your favorite celebrity couple are back and rolling!.

Sophia Momodu who turned 31 yesterday, June 9th 2018, revealed that she has never had a relationship with a guy without fat pockets, adding that she does not know it feels like.
Ex-BBN contestant, TBoss, has slammed those questioning her closeness to actress Lilian Esoro’s embattled husband, Ubi Franklin.
In a recent interview with Sunday Scoop, she revealed that she had known Franklin for 16 years, even before meeting Esoro. Her words, “I don’t see why I should not respond to people whenever they say rubbish on my page if I feel like doing so.
I don’t understand why people are concerned that I was hanging out with my friend. He is my friend and we didn’t talk about any issues with his wife and I didn’t know if they had divorced or not.
I have known Ubi for 16 years, which was before he met his wife. I don’t have to justify anything to anyone.” The former BBN contestant also insisted that Franklin was already separated before they started hanging out.
She said, “I don’t know why people are always on my case. Does it mean I cannot talk to a man without people insinuating I am having an affair with him?“
A week ago, Nollywood actress Bose Alao called out her footballer husband, Rasak Omotoyosi for domestic violence saying their 10 year marriage has been a scam and she’s running for her dear life.
Yesterday, she was back on Instagram apologising for washing their dirty linen in public saying, ‘you have been a wonderful husband and a proud father, is just sad we both can’t manage our anger’.
Her post reads:
I will be deceiving myself to say nothing happened or pretend I didn’t see all published between my husband and I, it has become so overwhelming that I do not know how to handle it anymore, but to start with, everything I read on Instagram was not posted by me or meant for the gram .no.
If u follow my husband and I you will know we ain’t friends on Instagram for a long time,my WhatsApp is the only place we have each other which was the reason I showed and expressed my hurt on WhatsApp so he could see it, the violence is on both side which is the reason we need therapy and now undergoing because there is no justification to DV.
Niyi Akinmolayan, earlier today shared a post on his IG page where he stated some people might have committed suicide because they are done with the world and not out of depression.
He shared his opinion about suicide in the wake of the death of two international celebrities, Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdian who both committed suicide a week apart.
????????????????????????????????????
Banky W felt Niyi’s opinion on suicide is disgusting and shouldn’t have been aired as it was very insensitive to the families and loved ones the suicide victims left behind.
Niyi on the other hand is insisting that suicide victims should not be painted in a bad light when they are gone because some of them might have just taken the decision in good faith.

Since the release of his version of Childish Gambino’s “This is America”, which he titled, “This is Nigeria”, the rapper has remained in the news.. and was recently called out by an Islamic group named, “The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC)”.
The Islamic group, apparently, claimed that the singer disrespected their religion, and as thus, threatened to sue the singer.
While addressing the issue, Falz referred to their claim as baseless.
In an exclusive chat with Ademola Olonilua of Punch, Falz spoke at length on the reaction that ensued the release of his This Is Nigeria video.
Read the excerpt below:
Barely a week after American artiste, Childish Gambino released his hit song, ‘This Is America’, you made the Nigerian version of the song, This Is Nigeria. How did you come up with the idea?
It was more than a week after Childish Gambino released his song, This Is America, that I released my version, This Is Nigeria. When I saw the Childish Gambino version, I liked the idea because I felt it was a very creative way to tell the American story especially as regards the political and social space over there. One day, I was listening to the song again and I got the idea of doing a remake of it from my own perspective as a Nigerian; so I decided to go for it.
One would have thought you would just do an audio version of the song but you went further to shoot a music video, why?
As soon as I recorded the audio, I thought that was half of the work. I had to do the video because the original song had a powerful visual. I believed that my work would be complete if I did a video as well. I wanted it to be equally as powerful as the Childish Gambino’s version so that it would resonate in our political and social space as well. Within about five days after recording the audio, I shot the video.
The video made its way to American rap legend, Diddy’s Instagram page. When you saw it, how did you feel?
It was very amazing. I did not expect that; neither did I see it coming, so I felt very excited because someone so influential like Diddy was giving me a nod of approval with the song. It was a great thing to witness. Growing up, I always saw him as an icon and Diddy is a legend. He is someone that we all looked up to growing up and we all know how influential he has been in the international hip-hop world. He was definitely one of the artistes that I looked up to as a young person.
Some Nigerians said that when you released the video, your colleagues did not applaud its creativity till Diddy posted it on his Instagram page…
I disagree with that because when I posted it on my page, I saw a lot of responses and comments from celebrities and other Nigerians that it was a creative work of art and they supported me. But definitely when Diddy posted the video on his page, more people commented.
An Islamic group, The Muslim Rights Concern, claims that you disrespected Islam by featuring girls in hijab dancing Shaku Shaku in the video. Why was that scene in your video?
I think it is very clear what that scene represented in the video. The message is very clear because the girls there symbolise the constant issues and troubles that face the innocent girl child in Nigeria, especially in the northern part of Nigeria. They have been victims of kidnappings and we have the case of the Chibok girls and recently the Dapchi girls. Till date, most of the Chibok girls have not been found while a Dapchi girl is still held captive. That is what those girls symbolise. I feel everyone got the message and it is absurd that a group of people like MURIC alleged that it is a hate video. I do not think that makes sense in any way because in the same video, I spoke about other issues like insecurity, corruption, and I even talked about pastors. No Christian has come out to say that it is a hate video; so what is MURIC talking about? I do not really understand them.
But why did the girls in hijab have to dance Shaku Shaku which is a secular dance step?
If you noticed, I was dancing as well and the dance was symbolic. The dance was symbolic of entertainment being a distraction from everything that is happening in our society. Shaku Shaku is the most popular dance step in Nigeria and it is currently in vogue; it is pretty clear that with all that is happening, everyone is embedded and carried away with the dance culture. I was just trying to say that everyone is too carried away with entertainment that they seem to forget all the things that are happening right in front of our faces.
Did you expect this kind of backlash from anyone especially the Muslim society?
I expected reactions, conversations, controversies but I did not expect that anyone would allege that it is a hate video or that the video would incite violence. There is no way that a video like that would incite violence.
We learnt MURIC wants to drag you to court. Is that true?
Yes. I feel it is very funny because there is no cause of action, to be honest. There is no law that is against young ladies dancing in hijab. There is absolutely no basis for a legal action, I mean, people dance in hijabs all the time in movies and parties. In fact, designers have made sportswear that have hijabs, so why are they not saying that is a disrespect to the religion? I think it is a baseless allegation.
So you are convinced that you did not insult the Islamic religion with the music video?
I have the utmost respect for Islam as well as every other religion but what I think our people need to focus more on is how to get away from being religious fanatics. It is one of our biggest problems and it was an issue I addressed in the same song and visual.
There are reports online that you said you are prepared to meet MURIC in court. Is that true?
If there is really going to be a court case, of course, I am prepared but there is none; there is no case here and I do not think it is anything that would hold water in any court. If they were to institute proceedings, I do not think it is something that would see the light of the day because there is no cause of action.
You once said that you want to be an activist through your music. With the heat this song has brought to your doorstep, do you think you are prepared to travel that path?
I am very prepared and I know that social conscious songs like this do not come without repercussions and reactions. They do not come without backlash. It is something I have thought about and it would definitely come my way but if you are going to speak the truth, then you have to stand for what is right. This is something I am going to continue to do and I would always stand for what is right.
How has your father reacted to the video and the controversy trailing it?
Political commentary and socially conscious music is something my father has always encouraged me to do; so he was happy when this came out.
Already there are memes on the internet about Falz vs MURIC. Are you aware?
Yes, I have seen some of them. All those memes make me laugh and they are quite funny. It is interesting to see them. Another interesting thing is that virtually everyone can see that MURIC does not have a case or meaningful allegation. With the memes and tweets I have been seeing, some people are even saying that if I take down the video, they would sue me. Some are saying that if I take down the video, they would upload it again so that MURIC should come and sue them. I read a lot of interesting tweets during the week. It is good to see that people are actually speaking out against these guys.
Are you not afraid for your life?
I am not afraid, I am protected by God. If I am speaking the truth which is the right thing to do; I don’t think anybody can harm me.
With this music video, you have set the bar high for your colleagues and yourself as well. What is next from your stable?
I am going to keep releasing a lot of more interesting music but as regards socially conscious songs, I am working on a complete project that would be dedicated to talking about societal ills. Aside from that, I would still release some feel-good music for people to dance to.

Human rights activist and renowned lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has dared the Muslims Rights Concern, MURIC, to sue his rapper son, Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz, if they are aggrieved by his trending ‘This is Nigeria’ video.
Recall that the group during the week released a statement, ordering Falz to take down “This is Nigeria” video which, according to them, ridicules their religion because some girls were seen in the footage wearing hijab and dancing Shaku Shaku.
They also threatened to take a legal action against the rapper after the expiration of the ultimatum given to him.
But reacting to the threat, the renowned lawyer told Vanguard that in as much as freedom of speech is constitutionally guaranteed in the country, nobody has the right to threaten another person.
According to him, the video in question contains a lot of messages and desired to be encouraged by anybody who has the interest of this country at heart.
Speaking further, Falana said he has confirmed that his son, who’s also a lawyer by profession is handling the threat within the ambit of the law.
“My son is a lawyer and I have confirmed that he’s handling the threat within the ambit of the law. The video in question contains a lot of messages and it should be encouraged by anybody who has the interest of our country at heart.
“Since the group has threatened to sue him or threatening to sue him. My son has promised that he would meet them in court. I support that decision.
“We all belong to this country, nobody can threaten another person. Freedom of speech is constitutionally guaranteed.
“If you are aggrieved as a result of any publication or record, the appropriate thing for you to do is to go to court. I’d hope that they will go to court at the expiration of the ultimatum given to my son,” said the renowned lawyer.
