A Nigerian man has taken to his twitter account to share his thoughts on a ‘much talked about topic’..
The man, with the handle @jajaphd tweeted some reasons why girls were so dependent on their boyfriends for finances.
He tweeted:
There’s chronic poverty in the land and many families (subtly) encourage their daughters to get into relationships so that the financial responsibilities for her (and maybe the family) can be shifted to her partner.
That’s one of the reasons why some girls are so demanding.
Then there’s also greed.
Some girls are demanding simply because they are not satisfied with what they earn, own or are given by their family.
There’s also entitlement.
Some women are socialised to believe that they deserve to be taken care of by their (male) partners just because they are women. Some go farther to believe that they are entitled to stuff because they have sex with their man.
In addition, some men woo ladies by ostentatious display of wealth.
When you buy your way into the heart of a woman, you have to be ready to keep paying rent.
Year after year, Forbes features some of the brightest young leaders, entrepreneurs and billionaires under the 30 Under 30 list across various continents.
This year, over 90 people made the Forbes Africa 2018 list spanning across Business, Technology and Creatives.
As such, 13 Nigerians made the list including Wizkid, his ex-girlfriend Tania, Davido, Bidemi Zakariyau, Beverly Naya and Adebayo Oke-Lawal.
She took to her Instagram Page to make an emotional post in celebration.
Read below:
“I made Forbes guys Small Girl with a very big God! I still can’t believe it. For years I would talk about how I wanted to be on Forbes before I was 30, at the beginning of this year especially when I set my goals for the year, being on Forbes was one of them. And less than 6 months later, Boom Tania is on the 30 under 30 list. To think Ziva is only a year and 5 months old is actually insane.
I’ve worked sooooo hard building my business and to be recognized by Forbes is such a blessing. I quit my 9-5 job with confidence 2 months after I started Ziva because I knew I had Ziva to fall back on but never in a million years did I think we would have come this far by now. I started Ziva with a pop up, after which I continued to sell the clothes from my house. I would pack all he clothes in my boot just in case anyone ordered anything so I could deliver it from wherever i was.
I literally did everything myself for the first few months, I didn’t hire any staff until about 5 months into the business. I remember when I wanted to start so many people discouraged me, they said things like : “So many people are into fashion”,
“You studied advertising at university what do you know about fashion” ,
“This is a bad idea, you cannot be Africa’s Zara or H&M” amongst so many other things. But God sent me an angel in my friend Kiki who held my hand and taught me everything I needed to know to start a business in fashion and a year and a half later here we are. I can confidently say I am living my dreams and my best life! I love being Iya Ziva it’s one of my biggest blessings and Definitely my biggest accomplishment so far.
Thank you to everyone that has supported my business and I. I will forever be grateful .
P.S please do not ever give up on your dreams!!!! Do not ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do something!”

Rapper, Snoop Dogg took to Instagram to shade Ghana for not qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
He shared photo collage of Nigerians in their world cup gear and an unknown man wearing a funny outfit.
The rapper captioned the post: ‘Ghanaian World Cup Gear vs Nigerian World Cup Gear.
See Photo below:
While it is all fun and games (nothing too serious), it is worthy of note that Snoop Dogg’s country i.e USA, failed to qualify for the World Cup as well (LOL).
For the first time in more than three decades, the U.S. men’s national team will not compete in the World Cup.
The stunning and surreal nature of the America’s absence is now a reality for U.S. soccer fans as the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Russia this summer, draws near.
Months after the U.S. failed to qualify, Americans perhaps have now come to terms with the fact that there will be no shot at a come-from-behind win or another extraordinary rally from U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard, who was fittingly referred to as the “Secretary of Defense” by fans at the 2014 tournament after his record-breaking game.
It looks like Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson and her babydaddy Jamie Roberts are having some serious trouble in their relationship.
The pair who welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Ryn in October 2017 have unfollowed each other on Instagram as well as wiping all traces of themselves by deleting their photos.
Details are still sketchy as regards what exactly might have happened but there are unconfirmed reports Yvonne and Jamie who have been inseparable in the past few months have gone their separate ways.
It is also worthy of note that three days ago, Jamie who’s a British photographer, posted a pic of his kids with his former Nigerian wife, obviously to spite Yvonne .

Messi has edged out Ronaldo in this year’s latest list of top 100 earning athletes in the world.
According to the list released by Forbes Magazine, US boxer Floyd Mayweather has regained his title in the Forbes rankings of the world’s top 100 earning athletes.
He earned a $275m (£205m) for his boxing match in August against UFC star Conor McGregor, who is number four on the US business magazine’s list.
Cristiano Ronaldo – top for the past two years – drops to third, with Lionel Messi edging him out of second place.
There are no women on the list, after the previous sole entrant, Serena Williams, dropped out of the chart.
The top 100 athletes earned a total of $3.8bn, up 23% from last year, Forbes said.
F1 driver Lewis Hamilton is the top Briton at number 12 with $51m.
Mayweather – one of whose nicknames is Money – saw his sports earnings added to by $10m from endorsements.
“Boxing’s biggest night of 2017 helped Mayweather and McGregor earn nearly $400m combined,” said Kurt Badenhausen, senior editor at Forbes Media.
“But basketball players dominate the top 100 overall thanks to a soaring salary cap triggered by the NBA’s $24bn TV contract.”
He added: “Forbes’ lists of top-earning athletes have long been testosterone heavy. But there has always been at least one female athlete, and as many as three, who qualified since the list was expanded to at least 50 names in 2010. Not this year.”
Receiving Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of United Nations World Tourism Organisation, UNWTO, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the President said it would have been inconceivable to host an international tourism conference in Abuja four years ago because of security concerns.
He said: “I am pleased that the country is now sufficiently safe and secure, and the message should go out to the world for all tourists and business travellers. The first thing tourists look out for is security and I am happy we have it now.
“Minister, Lai Mohammed, has been trying to convince the world that Nigeria is safe and has great potentials for tourism and investment. I am glad that you and your team have come here to see things for yourself.”
The UN tourism chief is in Abuja for the 61st UNWTO Commission for Africa (CAF) conference. In his remarks, Pololikashvili commended Nigeria for the successful hosting of the conference which brings together African Ministers of Tourism, principal executives of the global tourism body and other stakeholders in the tourism sector.
He said Nigeria had huge potentialities to develop the tourism sector, considering its large economy.
He said: “We can do it in Nigeria, we can create, convert Nigeria to the main tourist destination in Africa.
“There is a huge potential here. Culture, nature, food, you have everything here.
“Also speaking, the Information and Culture Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said 166 delegates, including 26 tourism ministers from Africa, were attending the conference which ends in Abuja tomorrow.”

A woman, Zainab Olatunji, has been arrested by the police for alleged conspiracy and malicious damage of two vehicles.
PUNCH Metro gathered that Olatunji on June 3, 2018, celebrated her birthday in the Papa Ashafa, Agege area of Lagos State.
Some hoodlums, who were allegedly invited by the 21-year-old, were said to have smoked hemp freely, as they wielded different kinds of weapons during the celebration.
Police arrest birthday girl for inviting hoodlums to party
The party was midway when there was a disagreement among the guests, which reportedly degenerated into a fight.
The affray was said to have led to the damage of the windscreen of a Toyota Sienna, with number plate, LSR 260 CK, and a Toyota Rav 4 with number plate, KJA229HQ, owned by residents in the area.
One of the affected car owners, Sulaiman Fajumobi, said the party was attended by over 50 guests, adding that most of them drank to stupor.
“When they had their disagreement, they started threatening passersby with machetes as they burst out into the street to continue their fight. We all stayed indoors to keep safe.
“After they left and the dust settled, I came out of my house only to discover that the windscreen of my car had been shattered by the hoodlums,” he said.
Olatunji, who was arrested for the damage after the hoodlums fled, was arraigned on Monday before an Ogba Magistrate’s Court.
She was charged with conspiracy and malicious damage.
A Miami woman has accused Rapper Future Hendrix of leaving her stranded in Los Angeles after she refused to have sex with him.
The woman, an aspiring singer named Shamartess, claims Future asked her to take a flight to Los Angeles and he will reimburse her.
He also booked a hotel for her. She claims she has hung out with him in the studio before and he was cool, so she thought he was inviting her to LA so they could go to the studio together.
However, once she got to LA and settled in her hotel, he said he was coming over to have sex with her. When she refused to have sex with him, he had her locked out of her hotel room and never paid her back the money spent on her flight ticket.
Shamartess shared her story on Facebook and added screenshots of their chats as proof.
See Screenshot below:
Either Future booked the room for one day, and would have put her out, or he cancelled the rest of the days after learning she wasn’t trying to consummate their “relationship.” She also really thought Future was going to come up off $5500? Okay.
While some women are naturally born with saggy breasts, others are caused by a number of bad habits you could be guilty of.
Leading surgeon,Dr Dirk Kremer of Harley Street Aesthetics, told Glamour that a number of habits that you might not immediately recognise as risk factors, such as failing to apply sunscreen and sleeping on your stomach can all contribute to sagging.
Read on to find out how many mistakes you’re guilty of, and what you should do to correct them.
DON’T: Sleep on your stomach
Pressing your breasts against the mattress for hours on end won’t do them any favours, while lying on your side will cause the ligaments to stretch over time.
If you want to maintain uplift in your cleavage, then sleeping on your back is the best position.
DON’T: Rely solely on high impact exercise
According to Dr Kremer the research is not conclusive, but some experts believe that ‘back-and-forth repetitive motions that happen when you run or do a similar workout can lead to a breakdown of breast collagen.’
If you want to be on the safe side, alternate between sports such as running and lower impact exercise like swimming and yoga.
DON’T: Wear a bra all the time
A study by French researchers found that constant support can weaken chest muscles and make the breasts sag.
However, going braless all the time is likely to have the exact same effect.
The best approach is to give your breasts a break now and again and ditch your bra.
DON’T: Skip sunscreen
UV rays will stretch out collagen and damage the skin, leading to the dreaded sag.
DON’T: Crash diet
Every time you gain and lose weight, the breast tissue will become more slack.
DON’T: Smoke
Even if it’s just a few cigarettes, any smoking decreases blood supply to the surface of the skin, which will weaken and age it.
On Monday, June 4th, 2018, Stella Damasus’ husband Daniel Ademinokan got most people talking after releasing photos of a reunion meet with ex-wife Doris Simeon and son, David.
Some online users queried him for restraining Doris from her son and queried his new wife, Stella for destroying his marriage to Stella.
Well, actress and mum of two who is now in her third marriage has responded by posting a quote from Oprah Winfrey ;
If a man wants you nothing can keep him away. If he doesn’t want you, nothing can make him stay.
Then she wrote;
“You don’t need permission to love. You don’t need permission to have peace. You don’t need permission to be kind. You don’t need permission to be filled with joy. You don’t need permission to smile. These are some of the best things in life and guess what? They are FREE.
So why aren’t we grabbing as much as we can? Why choose hate instead of Love? Why choose evil instead of kindness? Why choose fights instead of peace? Why do we spend almost half our lives on the negative stuff when the positive stuff are right in front of us and they are free. I made my choice and I am loving it. What about you?”
These lovely photos of an Oyinbo couple and their kids rocking the Super Eagles kits for Russia 2018 world cup will make you proud to be Nigerian.
The kits have been named the best for the tournament and immediately sold out the moment Nike launched it for sale on the 1st of June. Shortly after the kits sold out, Nike revealed that there is no plan to restock as fans all over the world are yearning to have a copy of the jersey.
The brain behind the design of the Super Eagles kits is Matthew Wolff who works for Nike. After the unveiling, he took to Twitter to say;
“It was so much fun designing these World Cup 2018 pieces for Nigeria with the Nike team!”
Many Nigerians are wondering why a kit meant for them can’t be found in any store in Nigeria. They even complain about the delay in launching the kit which has led to the counterfeit flooding the Nigerian market.
Recall one of those selling the fake jerseys in Nigeria was interviewed by BBC. He spoke of the gains he was making. The counterfeit can be gotten for as low as N4,000. Many Nigerians, even those who can afford the original at its expensive price, have resorted to wearing the fake which really doesn’t look much different from the original. This is due to the delay Nike took in launching the sale and also not launching in Nigeria.
Nigerian Actor, Rapper and Songwriter Folarin Falana aka Falz who has come under fire from many Muslim groups and individuals for using ladies dressed in Hijab for his viral video ‘This is Nigeria’ has just reacted.
He was even given a seven days ultimate by a Muslim group to take down the song.
Speaking as a guest on LITV’s show, Verified, hosted by Tope Olowoniyan, Falz spoke about his worries for Nigeria and how people missed the point of his new music video ”This is Nigeria”.
Controversies have continued to trail the music video because he used video vixens dressed in Hijab.
When asked if the video vixens dancing Shaku Shaku in Hijab was intentional, Falz said ;
”It was very intentional. We continue to forget or neglect the innocence of the girl child and because of all the issues that we are having, the kidnappings and the killings especially in the Northern part of the country, the Chibok girls and very more recently the Dapchi girls, It is very disturbing and we don’t often talk about them and I was a bit surprised to hear people say why would you put girls in Hijab to dance Shaku Shaku…common, is there anything wrong with people dancing because they are wearing Hijabs? Is their any law against that?
A yet to be identified female graduate observing her National Youth Service Corp programme in Abuja caused a stir when she came in a vehicle worth over N20 million.
A Twitter user shared these photos of a female NYSC member who came for her clearance in a Porsche Cayman car in Abuja yesterday.
He wrote:
“Somebody came with this to come and do the same NYSC Biometrics! I am going back to Yola! Abuja, thank you! I now have exposure! ”
The starting price of the exotic car is N20.5 million and it goes way higher than that depending on the year it was made.
The identity of the young lady remains unknown but there are rumours that she is from an elite family.
This further buttresses the point made by people that serving in Abuja is very intimidating as one would have to contend colleagues who are from very wealthy families or have spent most of their lives studying and living abroad.

A Ghanaian lady has taken Micro-Blogging website, Twitter to pour enconium on Nigerian men, saying they are the best men in the whole of Africa.
She also admonished Nigerian women for not knowing what they have.
She said Nigerian men are even better than her own countrymen. One of the reasons she gave is that Nigerian men respect the women in their lives and even when they cheat, they are discreet about it so as not to offend their women.
As expected, Nigerian men flooded her mentions after the post was shared to say they agree with her, but Nigerian women do not seem to agree and they said as much on Twitter.
Read ther exchanges below:
I don’t understand why Nigerian ladies complain of their men, it’s beyond me.
Hands down, Nigerian men are the best in Africa. Their mother, sister, wife/girlfriend(s), daughter & even mother in law they treat with maximum respect
Im a South African and I know Nigerian men are the best. They have so much respect. Never dated one but I am friends with them and Ive also seen how they treat their wives/girlfriends. They are one of the best.

Jude ‘engees’ Okoye was once the manager of Psquare before their split. He directed many of their videos and was one of the pillars that held the music duo.
When asked why he allowed his twin brothers to split, he made it known that he isn’t the head of their family as many people assume.
Reacting to a fan’s comment on his Instagram page which asked to know if he can bring the boys back together again, he said ‘You can take a horse to the river, but you can’t force it to drink water’.
It appears Jude has moved on with life after Psquare as he is happily married to Ifeoma Michelle Okoye and they recently welcomed their second daughter whom they christened Eleanor Chisom Okoye.
Below are some pictures showing the amazing car collection of Jude Okoye aka Jude Engees:
Reports have it that US singer Rihanna has ended her relationship with her Saudi prince boyfriend, Hassan Jameel, and she is now back in the market for eligible bachelors.
Details of the break up with Hassan Jameel, who is the heir to the sole distribution company of Toyota cars in Saudi Arabia, are still sketchy. However, a source suggested that the singer got tired of him and dumped him.
The unnamed insider said:
“Of course Rihanna broke his heart. That’s what she does – break men’s hearts.
“Rihanna just got tired of him. She gets tired of men sometimes,”
It may be recalled that sometime in 2017, the couple got hitched and reports of the romance set the internet on fire, especially by Rihanna fans.
30 year old Rihanna never confirmed the romance but had spoken of being in a serious relationship in interviews.
Jameel is a divorced 29 year old who plays a key role in the family business. He is also the President of Community Jameel, an organisation that is ‘a social enterprise organisation that operates a wide range of initiatives which promote and contribute towards positive societal change and economic sustainability’.
Benita Okojie became a bona fide star when she released her evergreen track Osamudiamen in the 1990s.
Now a mum, the FABMUMNG team recently spent an afternoon with her and got a rare peek into her life .
In this interview, the soft spoken Edo state- born singer shares various lessons that appeal to mums of all ages.
Here are excerpts from the interview ;
What was it like becoming a mother?
I think the early stage of course was overwhelming, I knew that my life had changed forever for good. I had to share my time with the new baby. It wasn’t easy because it was not something I was used to, it was a new experience for me and I thank God for the Joy of being a mother. It can be also be challenging and I understand why people have post partum depression because if you don’t have people there with you the feeling might be overwhelming for some people.
And labour?
My mum and my sister were there with me during labour. My husband was also there but had to go get some items. I don’t even want to talk about labour.I was just really glad when the baby came out because I was there for 17 hours. I looked at my baby and I was like that huge guy came out of me but I thank God for counting us worthy of such a great blessing and having our families supporting us with prayers meant a lot. There were times the reality of being a new mother set in and I would go quiet. My mum would say baby blues and smile. I’m grateful for an amazing family system. Every one was helpful one way or the other. Thank God, baby A and I have grown since then.
What are some of the processes that helped you as a new mum?
My mother understood the dangers of not allowing a new mother have people around her because she may slip into depression .So she knew how important it was to have people around me. That did me a lot of good and I knew that it was easy for me to start feeling overwhelmed and stressed. I also tried as much as possible to talk when I wasn’t feeling good and I realized the more I talked about it the better I felt. There were times I realized I had to pray about these things and having people around me who supported me and prayed for me and friends who kept checking up on me and made me feel better. I kept telling myself this is a blessing, this child is a blessing so get over it and celebrate this gift so I eventually started talking to myself and I got better.
So you didn’t slip into post-partum depression?
I didn’t, that’s why it’s important to have people around you. There were moments where I had people around me and I’ll go quiet for a while and when they asked what was wrong with me I’d tell them nothing. Then I didn’t really feel like talking because I felt when they are done gisting I’ll go back inside and face my own joy and at the same time the challenges that come with it. But because I had people around me those quiet moments didn’t last.
So who were your support system?
My mother in-law, my mum, my sister and my sister in-laws. I just had so many people around me.
What can you say really prepared you for motherhood?
I don’t think anything prepared me for motherhood, honestly, the pregnancy stage was a process for me; there were days where I felt very good and there were days I was nauseous. I remember I bought lots of books; I would read and do almost all they said in the books and they’ll be like enjoy this time of pregnancy because by the time the baby comes out you wouldn’t have time to yourself and I am like what do they mean by that. They were actually right because after the baby came out of me, if I had to go out I had to consider the baby. I have learnt to plan my schedule and make sure I am at home at certain As a new mum, you learn to manage your time efficiently such that nothing suffers for another. I’m now a planner and I’m amazed at how God has helped me to spend my time wisely on what matters as I strive to achieve a balance as a mom, a wife,an artiste and other interests I have.
Are you saying what helped you so far was planning?
Yes, deliberate planning, that means if I have to be somewhere I already plan for it hours before. I know that at this time I should be back home to him and I also understand it’s important for me to go out with him. I also have mummy and son time with him, read him stories and it’s a lot of fun. I know how important it is to spend/cherish every time you spend with your child because he’s not going to be 1 or 6months forever. He’s going to grow and what you’ve deposited in him is what will help him, as he grows older. We tend to spend more time with him (myself and his dad). It’s important for us to plan our schedules well so we can create time to be part of his everyday life.
So how do you create time for yourself?
I try; sometimes, my husband and I go out, my mum comes to babysit. I understand its okay to actually have some time for myself. It’s okay for me to go out even if it’s just for a few hours; it doesn’t mean I am not playing my role well as a mother. I’m human so it’s okay for me to do something for myself. Now that he is a little older I am consciously trying to create time for myself.
How old is he now?
He’s about 6months so it’s easier now. Even sometimes when am at home, I still get things done. I get alone time when he’s sleeping and do stuffs that are pending. There are times when he is playing and I put up cartoons that take his time for 20-40 minutes and I can do a lot with that time.
Do you have a nanny?
I don’t, it’s something I have considered before but I don’t think it is something I want now because I have support from my family. My mum and my mother in-law help a lot. They’re both eager to take care of Baby A. Anytime we have something to do. we can drop him off.
Do they all live close?
My mum lives close; my mother in-law lives not so far away. I just check up on both of them and plan which would be easier for me.
Would you say being on your own and working for nobody has helped you?
It has helped me a lot because if I was working for someone I probably would have taken him to crèche probably at 3months but I never really wanted to do that. It is also good that I am not working for anyone so my time is really flexible because I work with my own time.
In what ways does your husband compliment your parenting?
He’s learnt a couple of things and being a mother doesn’t mean it’s all on me. I try to do what I can as a mother and he will support in the best way that he can. He’s very supportive in taking care of the baby. When he was 3months I had started attending programmes and going for ministrations . He helped with our baby. He feeds him and helps with diaper change.
A video of pupils in Kano state being served food in sheets of paper has gone viral. The video was released by the Voice of America Hausa yesterday June 4th.
According to VOA Hausa, the pupils complained that the food they were being given lacked ingredients like the one their parents give to them at home.
When the reporter asked why the pupils were being served food on pieces of papers, the teachers who refused to give their names, said the Federal government told them they were going to provide them with plates but they are still waiting for the plates.
Recall that during the 2015 election campaign, one of the promises of APC was to provide lunch for school pupils. The School Feeding programme was launched after they came into power and has taken off in some states.
Ndotenyin Kingsley who shared the video online, says his dogs would never accept to eat from a sheet of paper.
A pretty Nigerian lady identified as Gift Innocent is currently trending on Facebook after she shared a picture of herself rocking her own customized Super Eagles jersey.
She shared the picture on Facebook and wrote;
“Yes I bought it. I know its expensive. I couldn’t help but support my country. 41 thousand naira is nothing compared to my love for Nigeria” she captioned the photo.
Obviously, the young lady is only trying to create humour out of the obviously edited picture which has gone viral online.
It would be recalled that this jersey was designed by American clothing company, Nike to be used at the forthcoming World Cup in Russia.
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has asked that Falz remove his video for “This is Nigeria” within 7 days or face legal action.
According to The Cable, the request was made in a statement made by the group’s director, Ishaq Akintola.
The video, upon its release, had Nigerians in a frenzy, with some describing it as genius and others saying it was badly done.
The group has described the video as a “hate video,” complaining that it was biased against the Fulani people and trivializes the plight of the Chibok Girls.
MURIC also asked that Falz make a public apology.
The statement read:
MURIC rejects Falz’ explanation that the girls in hijab in his ‘Shaku Shaku’ dance symbolize the Chibok girls because nothing in the video indicates that the girls represent the Chibok girls.
At least none of the Chibok girls have been seen dancing like a drunkard. They are always in pensive mood. Do they have any cause to be dancing? Are they happy?
The video manifests ethnic bias against Fulanis while it ignored the criminal activities of ethnic militia of the Middle Belt who have also massacred Fulanis and rustled their cattle in their thousands.
It is a hate video. This video has the potential of causing religious crisis of unprecedented dimension.
It is an assault on the self-dignity of every Muslim. It is freedom of expression gone haywire.
We therefore demand its withdrawal and an apology to Nigerian Muslims within seven days or the authors and their agents will face legal action if they fail to comply.
Only the scenes portraying police brutality and the money-swallowing snake in the video are near the truth.
We call the attention of security agencies to this hate action.
We remind Nigerians of the outcome of similar provocative actions in the past and their unpalatable outcomes.
The National Film And Video Censors Board (NFVCB), a regulatory agency set up by Act No. 85 of 1993 to regulate films and the video industry has a case to answer. ‘Shaku Shaku’ video was shot and released under its watch.
Instead of going violent, Nigerian Muslims should take those behind the ‘Shaku Shaku’ video to court in order to serve as a deterrent to others.
We therefore give notice of impending legal action against the artist behind the ‘Shaku Shaku’ video unless the latter is withdrawn and an apology is widely published within seven days.
