Family disowns their daughter who is seeking to marry her Lesbian partner in Nigeria

The Shoremi family in Nigeria have taken a newspaper advertorial to announce they have severed all ties with one of their daughters, Shalom, who recently tried to wed her lesbian partner here in Nigeria.

Shalom had applied for marriage license from the Federal Marriage Registry but was denied as same sex marriage is prohibited in Nigeria. Former president Goodluck Jonathan had signed the Anti-gay bill into law in 2007.

The family disowned her on the grounds that what she planned to do is against the law in Nigeria, adding that she will not be entitled to anything from the family inheritance.

“The attention of Shoremi Family of Ogun State has been drawn to an application for a speical marriage License sought by Shalom T. Shoremi.”

“She had requested for a special marriage license at the Federal Marriage License at the Federal Marriage Registry on the 22nd of March, 2018 to allow her consummate a same sex marriage, which was rejected as it is in variance with the Marriage Act of The Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

“This Family is diassociating itself from this move and has severed ties with her. We also disown her on the grounds that what she planned to do is against the law in Nigeria. She will also not be entitled to anything from the family inheritance. The public should please take note.”

Meanwhile, another lady shared that after she and her family discovered that her sister is a lesbian, they’ve been looking for a cure for her.

She revealed that she’d been observing the signs earlier but she didn’t really pay attention to it as she thought it was just a ‘phase’.

Everything is as fresh as it can get because it comes in straight from the sea. As you can see I’m in a boat down the canal where other boats display their goods and pull you aside with a stick if you’re interested in making a purchase. It was such a unique experience.

RCCG reject beardgang-intending grooms planning to wed in the church (Details)

The Redeemed Christian Church of God has reportedly asked its church ministers to ensure that intending grooms and their groomsmen do not wear ”Taliban” beards during any wedding service conducted in any of its brances.

The church gave the order to its letter to the Ministers dated May 15th.

The Letter reads;

The Mission Authority has received reports to the effect that certain loose practices have been adapted during the conduct of weddings in the church, and hereby wish to direct that forthwith:

a. Every Worker or Department that will officiate during any wedding programmed or programmes of the Church, most especially the Officiating Ministers, the Choir and the Ushers.

b. Ministers who have the responsibility iof assessing the fown of the bride, must also ensure that the outfits of the Bride’s maids are checked to ensure that the standards of the Church are not compromised.

c. Prior to the wedding programme, the groom and his groom’s men must be assessed to ensure that they are not wearing Taliban beards, which is against the doctrines of the Church.

All ministers should be guided by these directives, especially in Parishes of the Mission that are licensed to conduct weddings.

A Coat of Arms has been created for The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle with approval from The Queen and Thomas Woodcock.

According to the official statement, Meghan worked closely with the College of Arms throughout the design process to create a Coat of Arms that was both personal and representative.

Meghan’s Coat of Arms features a songbird symbolising the “power of communication” and it has been joined with Prince Harry‘s royal lion Coat of Arms.

The Arms features represent her home state of California as well as her new life as a member of the Royal Family.

The blue background of the shield represents the Pacific Ocean while two golden rays symbolise the famous Californian sunshine.

Beneath the shield on the grass also sits a collection of golden poppies which are California’s state flower and wintersweet, which grows at Kensington Palace.

Yes of course, I now wear better stuff, more quality stuff because there wasn’t money at that time, now there’s money.

What are 3 items that you cannot live without?

A bodycon dress, my lashes and nice shoes.

Which Nigerian designers do you like?

I like Andria, she has been styling me ever since I came out of the house and I think she’s a very good stylist.

For now, that’s about it, all my clothes come from her.

How did you cope with the criticism of your appearance in the house and what advice would you give to young women facing the same thing?

I think it’s OK for people to criticise you because of they don’t, how will you know what you are not doing right?

For me, I take it as a part of learning because there’s a thing called growth and with growth you are supposed to move from one place to another and people should be able to help you with that.

To the young ones out there, do not get carried away with all of that, don’t get sucked into the idea that people hate you. Everybody cannot like you, if everybody likes you that means you’re doing something wrong.

Just know your truth and know who you are and when you do, dealing with criticism becomes much easier.

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode and his wife Precious Chikwendu have welcomed three boys.

The couple welcomed the triplets this morning. It also happens to be Precious’ birthday so it’s double celebration for the family.

The boys have been named Ragnar, Aiden, and Liam. The couple already have one son named Arargorn.

A 23-year-old teacher, Anna Fuller from Ontario, Canada who started dating a rich accountant because of his money has revealed how she automatically fell in love with him after they recently got engaged.

The Early childhood educator who first met 47-year-old Rob Hunter, at a bar while she was out for her 17th birthday admitted in a recent interview with Mail Online that the relationship ‘ was about money’ when they started.

However, after they got to know each other, Anna said she developed ‘serious feelings’ for the father of two children and was impressed by the way he supported and cared for with all her issues and problems.

According to her, they have now been together for six years and she has accepted to be Rob’s wife after he popped the question while they were on holiday in Mexico earlier this month.

‘The night I was out for my birthday and he was out with his friend for the weekend, we met outside a bar – I told him I was 18,’ Anna recalled of their first meeting.

‘At first, it was about the money for me, as I was a young teenager who grew up in a pretty low-class family and I was used to being spoiled and getting whatever, I wanted regardless, so in my head the thought of an older man with security fit the bill – no pun intended.

After getting to know him, I decided I had serious feelings for him too and I think it was mainly because he let me be the loud, obnoxious teenager I was and accepted that about me; dealing with all my issues and problems like they were his.

‘He really cared, and he did everything in his power to show me that. I think what attracted him to me was my ability to always be able to have fun, I was super energetic and loud and funny.

‘Not to mention I was also much younger which at the start of our relationship I’m sure had an impact.

‘Although we do plan to get married one day – years from now not in the near future – we don’t plan on having children together he has two of his own, while I have five siblings and work with young children.

‘I also like to spoil and spend money on myself a lot, so I just don’t feel like kids are on the cards for me in general, or for us and our relationship.

‘Rob has two kids of his own and we get along. They’re teenagers so they’re kind of in the stage of doing their own thing now. I met them after eight months of dating Rob.’

Anna who now lives with Rob, also revealed that both families struggled to accept their relationship when they started, but later she received support from some of her folks except her mom who has vowed never speak to or met Rob.

‘At first, my family lost their minds. They were livid and the only person I had that accepted us from the start was my grandma and she passed away in January 2016

‘As of 2018 most of my family have come to be very accepting and supportive of our relationship. My mother still has never spoken to or met Rob and doesn’t have any intention to.

‘His family was a bit worried at first, but that quickly went away after actually meeting me. The only thing there is Rob’s brother and his brother’s wife can’t stand me.

‘Since we have gotten engaged – as of May this year. My whole family, except my mother and stepdad, have been very supportive same with Rob’s family as well.

On the problems, she has with fiance, the Early childhood educator says: ‘Our problems mainly consist of Rob not doing the laundry or dishes after I work nine-hour days with kids and I get frustrated because of it so I just nag until he does it.

A Nigerian Soldier, with the name John Oden on Facebook, took to his page to offer praises to God moments ago as he left the hotbed of the Boko Haram war, in Maiduguri, Borno state after staying there for four years and four months.

Oden appreciated God for keeping him alive for his mother and wife that he is now returning home to.

“Only the blind won’t see Buhari’s achievements” – Presidency

Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina has stated that those who oppose the current administration have made it a point to harp on negative happenings in the country.

Listing what he considered as the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari, Adesina said the positive growth cannot be denied even by “naysayers.”

He quoted figures from the National Bureau of Statistics, saying since Nigeria recovered from recession, the gross domestic product (GDP) has been growing consistently, currently recording a growth of 1.95% in Q1 2018 compared to a contraction of 0.91% in Q1 2017.

He noted that inflation had declined from 18.72 percent to 12.48 percent in the last 15 months, “even with an increased spending of N1.5 trillion on infrastructural projects”.

Adesina compared the $29.6 billion inherited from the Goodluck Jonathan administration to the $49.79 billion foreign reserves despite “modest oil prices” in the international market.

“Some people have made it a pastime to talk as if there is no silver lining in the sky as far as the Nigerian economy is concerned,” he said in a statement. They carry on as if it is doom and gloom all the way, a thoroughfare of woes.

This they do, to hoodwink the public, and peradventure gain political advantage for themselves, or their principals. But facts are stubborn things.

Those arrayed against facts may abhor and deride them, but there they are, staring them starkly in the face.

These are just little among the good things happening to the Nigerian economy. Only the wilfully blind will not see it, but it does not stop the good work, which continues.”

Adesina said government was still on the road to reviving the economy and would continue until the impact is felt by the “ordinary” Nigerian.

“On exiting recession last year, President Muhammadu Buhari had said he would not consider the job done, until the ordinary man feels the impact of the rebounding economy on his life and pocket,” he said. “We are inexorably on that road, no matter what scoffers may say.”

Daddy Freeze has advised a young girl to go ahead and have an abortion after she was raped by robbers who invaded her home.

He gave this advise while commenting on a post which had the story of a 17 year old who was raped by some robbers that had broken into their home to steal.

Few weeks later, she discovered she was pregnant for one of them.

The report had it that the family was left in a state of dilemma as they did not know which action to take towards an unfortunate happening, the news also had it that their members advised them to keep the baby.

Freeze was quick to pen down his comment, giving the 17 year old girl a go ahead he wrote saying;

“Listen Guys, you own your body, not the church and not your parents, you own it!

Popular comic actor, Hafiz Oyetoro known as Saka & wife, Saidat Olaide are celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary today.

Saka wrote on his page:

“While growing up, I thought I had a pretty good idea of what a woman is. But when it was time for me to find my own woman, it dawned on me that a woman is not a man. In my search, I came across a lady who was edging me on, making me to belief she loved “me”.

Well, I decided to propose. She had listened quietly with encouraging countenance on her face. I went on to fantasy on how our “coming together” would be the best thing that could happen to us. Then… “Are you sure you are ready?” “YES” I answered.

She has never wavered in helping me achieve my dream, our dream our future! She had taught me what womanhood is. She had taught me a woman is a divine catalyst for achieving future dreams.
