Monica Osagie, the female student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, who went viral on social media months after she audiotaped her lecturer demanding five rounds of s*x for better marks, has finally spoken to CNN about the fallout since the recording was shared online.
When Monica Osagie got low marks in a course for her master’s degree, she disclosed that the professor gave her two options: Either she sleeps with him, or fail the class.
Faced with this stark choice, Osagie says she knew no one would believe her word against the lecturer’s, so she recorded one of their conversations using a cell phone app.
The audio recording was leaked online and went viral on social media – Osagie says she did not leak it but had submitted it to the university authorities before it surfaced online.
In the recording, a man can be heard saying that if the student agreed to have s*x with him five times, he would improve her grades.
“Is it not five we agreed? Our agreement is five,” the man says on the tape.
Osagie replies:
“Is it B that you want to give me or A? Why would it be five times you will knack me? Prof, you know what? Let me fail it. I can’t do it five times.”
Student speaks out
In her only interview since the audio was leaked online, Osagie, 23, told CNN she had developed a mentor-mentee relationship with the professor after she helped him edit his book.
But the relationship soon made her uncomfortable because he started to make sexual advances towards her, she said.
“We actually edited the book together… Then, the next thing he told me was, ‘Can you date me?’ I was like, ‘No.’ He was like, ‘Why?’ I said, ‘One, I don’t date lecturers, and secondly, you are more matured than I am.’”
CNN hasn’t been able to confirm the professor’s age.
Osagie believes he deliberately gave her low marks so she would agree to sleep with him to raise them, she said.
“He kept calling me to ask if I was ready to accept his proposal. So, I decided to record our next conversation,” she added.
CNN has listened to the recording but cannot independently verify it. But a spokesman for the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Osun State, south west Nigeria, has confirmed that the voice is that of Richard Akindele, an accounting professor at the university.
The university said in a statement posted on its website: “Professor Richard I. Akindele, of the department of management and accounting, is now established to be the lecturer in the controversial “marks for sex” audio recording.
The female voice has also been identified as that of Miss Monica Osetobe Osagie, a postgraduate student on the Master of Business Administration Regular programme.”
The OAU authorities say they have launched an investigation into Osagie’s allegations and Akindele has been suspended pending a final decision by the university.
The university added that “it will continue to do everything legally and morally acceptable in pursuance of its avowed commitment to zero tolerance for sexual harassment, intimidation and, or coercion.”
Akindele is yet to speak publicly and declined to comment to CNN.
“I have nothing to say until the university has concluded their investigation,” he said.
Backlash on social media
Osagie says she has faced severe backlash since the university made her identity public when it released a statement.
“A guy came up to me at the bank and said, ‘Is this not the girl who harassed a lecturer?’ and he called me a prostitute. The security guard then had to push me away to go withdraw my money inside the bank,” she said.
Osagie has also received abuse on social media and allegations that she tried to seduce the professor, she said.
Despite the criticism, Osagie says she has no regrets speaking about her experience. She hopes her case will give young women facing harassment on campuses the confidence to reject inappropriate advances from their lecturers, she said.
“I am actually happy I came out. I am helping many ladies that have gone through the same thing I have gone through, and most of them can’t talk about it.
“They are scared of coming out in public. But I know it happens everywhere, not just in Nigeria. For me, speaking up will bring more women to speak and eradicate what is happening around young women and older men,” Osagie told CNN.
“There is no work or … education that is worth your dignity,” she added. “I will keep saying that.”
After the story broke in the media, Osagie faced a university panel investigating the allegations on the tape and is awaiting its findings so she can receive her certificate. There has been no suggestion that the findings will prevent her from receiving her degree.
Her lawyer, Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, told CNN more victims have contacted her with allegations about the same professor since hearing about Osagie’s case.
“We have … a situation whereby people have promised to send to us affidavits … where they can also give evidence against the professor,” the lawyer said.
CNN has not been able to reach Akindele for comment about other accusers.
A spokesman for the university also told CNN the institution could not disclose whether other students had brought similar allegations against the professor.
“What is being investigated is the allegation leveled by the student against her lecturer. The university’s council will make the final decision on the report the vice chancellor has submitted on the case,” said Abiodun Olarewaju, a spokesman for OAU.
“This is because of the caliber of the lecturer involved,” he added.
Until we take a look at some epic throwback photos of our favourite celebrities, we tend to forget that these individuals were once normal people who had normal lives before the fame.
Normal lives meaning they did what every other normal person would do, most especially, take quite embarrassing photos – which woulda seemed dope at the time – and shared it on Facebook.
From posing for a photo by doing-the-peace-sign-in-the-air-while-holding-a-possible-Nokia-phone-in-your-graduation-gown to donning anti-bespoke suits to an event, can you guess who the celebrities are in these photos?

We reported earlier that Davido has signed a new artiste named Idowest, he is a rapper.
He was announced as the latest member to Davido‘s DMW record label.
Idowest was officially unveiled as the newest addition to the powerhouse platform, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), by the label boss, Davido.
The rapper has been sighted in the company of Davido and other members of his label in recent times, but it wasn’t until last night when the O.B.O announced the deal via his Twitter handle.
This makes him the sixth addition to the ever growing family that houses Davido, Mayorkun, Dremo, Peruzzi and Yonda, with Ichaba remaining an affiliate.
With the group compilation album scheduled to be released next month, Idowest is expected to bring his street flavour to some of the joints.
Here are five things you need to know about DMW’s latest signing, Idowest:
1. His real name is Adekunle Idowu
Adekunle Idowu is more popularly known by his stage name Idowest (Twitter/Idowest)
The name Idowest was carved out of his original name Idowu, which is a Yoruba name for someone born after a set of twins. He represents the Lagos Island area of Lagos State.
2. Idowest refers to himself as the King of Shaku Shaku
The shaku shaku vibe is one hit that gained mainstream acceptance last year with acts like Idowest, Slimcase, Mr Real and even Skales laying claim to being progenitors of the wave.
But the rapper who has been on his grind for quite a while now, claims that he was introduced to shaku shaku from his secondary school days and has been making the type of sound since then.
In his words, ”I have been doing Shaku shaku before the vibe even came up, that’s why people call me Idowest, Aro Mafia aka the King of Shaku Shaku”.
3. Idowest has been signed to three labels in two years
Now it gets interesting when you discover that the artist has put pen to paper on three different record deals in less than two years.
On June 15, 2017, the young rapper signed with P4 Music, owned by a Mr Sodiq, but following his return from being cleared of all charges leveled against him in the US, Dammy Krane revived his label, Worldstar Inc and on December 15 2017, he announced his first signing in the person of Idowest.
Following the official announcement by Davido, Idowest has now gotten signed to three labels, perhaps as a pointer to the talent that he possess.
4. He was a former member of the M.A.F.I.A gang
Idowest along members of the Mafia gang, C Black and Abram Soul in Panda cover video (YouTube/Idowest)
Earlier in 2017, Idowest used to be a member of the three man group called M.A.F.I.A gang.
Other members of the group include, C Black and Abram Soul and they released singles like Panda (Cover) and Umbele.
5. Idowest was nominated at the 2018 Headies
Idowest has grown his art steadily over the past couple of years, from getting attention with his single Eko alongside former HKN member Danagog to his ground-breaking single, Omo Shepeteri which featured Dammy Krane and Slimcase released late last year.
The song earned Idowest a nomination in the Best Street Hop artist category at the Headies 2018 music awards which was won by Small Doctor.

Morgan Freeman
2018 PEN Literary Gala, New York, USA - 22 May 2018
At least eight women have accused A-list actor Morgan Freeman of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior.
One woman who wished to remain anonymous told CNN that Morgan allegedly got too comfortable with her while she was working as a production assistant for the movie “Going In Style.”
She said Morgan often touched her inappropriately and made comments about her clothing and body on a daily basis.
Freeman “kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear.”
She said he was never able to lift her skirt up because she would move away, but claims he would try again. Eventually, she said, “Alan [Arkin] made a comment telling him to stop. Morgan got freaked out and didn’t know what to say.”
Another woman told the outlet that Morgan sexually harassed her multiple times when she was working on the 2012 movie “Now You See Me.”
“He did comment on our bodies,” the second accuser said. “We knew that if he was coming by … not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted,” she said.

Ever since Linda announced her pregnancy few days back, the celebrity blogger who loves to put people on the news has not stopped being on the news.
Earlier today, Lindan took to her Instagram to announce that she just ‘Got’ an 11-room Mansion which will be used to film the ‘made in Gidi’ series set to air when her Tv station launches.
Linda shared a collage of photos of the house with the caption;
11-room mansion I just got in Lagos for Made In Gidi reality show and some other productions. We are not playing at LITV. ??. Can you even spot me in the pics? Lol. LindaIkejiTV launches on June 1st. It will be on Android, IOS and Comcast. #excitingdaysahead ??
However, a follower with the handle @ifeomafinegirl pointed out what she saw as a misleading caption and wrote;
“You got”? Rented or purchased? You started the story just finish it. There’s a difference between got and purchased. Let your younger followers know so that they wouldn’t go by the corner thinking ‘Why’s my hustle Different”
Apparently after noticing the attention the caption drew, Linda Ikeji edited her caption and replaced ‘got‘ with ‘rented‘..
Teddy A clearly has no time for haters and has just savagely replied an online troll who came at him with some really harsh words.
The said follower/Internet troll, was clearly pissed at Teddy A for letting a woman ruin his chances of winning the Big Brother Naija reality game show after he had apparently spent N9000 voting for him to beat eviction and remain in the house.
After raining more insults on Teddy A, Leonard revealed that he wants his money back and will be coming back to continue from where he stopped.
Well, being the so called ‘Alpha Male’, Teddy A replied the fan by saying ‘Ogun’ will kill him, but some people were of the opinion that he was too rude to reply him like that.
A member of one of Nigeria’s popular online forum has revealed whom he believes Linda Ikeji is pregnant for.
According to his claim which he says is very credible, the man who is responsible for the celebrity blogger’s pregnancy is Sholaye Jeremi, a close associate of the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu.
Sharing the information, the poster who has now deleted his account on the forum wrote:
”Linda Ikeji is pregnant for Sholaye Jeremi, a close associate to Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu. He is from Sapele, Delta state. 100% confirmed. The funny thing is there was no engagement as Shola will not settle down although he is 40 plus. Jeremi also stays in Ikoyi. Very credible, although Linda is trying to manage the situation but this information is 100 percent credible. You can do your findings as well, but that’s the guy.”
A Nigerian man shared these horrific photos of a thief who was burnt alive today after he was caught in Lagos.
Despite efforts by Government Authorities to warn some citizens off delivering Jungle Justice to Local suspected criminals, it seems all that falls on deaf ears.

Jesus Christ in a Diamond stone…or is it a block of ice?
A Facebook post has gone viral on the internet for very weird reasons and it is because some members are claiming Jesus Christ revealed himself in a diamond stone.

A 30-year-old man court-ordered to vacate his parents’ home on Tuesday said he should be given more time to leave because of how much his parents “harassed” him about moving out.
Michael Rotondo, of Camillus, New York, had been living rent-free in his parents’ Syracuse-area home for eight years when a State Supreme Court judge ruled on Tuesday in his parents’ favor, ordering him to move out.
Rotondo, who plans to appeal the decision, said he stopped speaking to his parents when they “alluded” to wanting him to leave the house in October, just one month after he lost custody and visitation rights of his son.
Michael Rotondo said in an interview with ABC News ;
“I’m not bothering them by living here, It’s little to no cost to them, and considering how much they’ve harassed me, I think it’s the least that they should be required to do, which is just let me hang here a bit longer and use their hot water and electricity.”
By the end of October, Michael Rotondo said his parents were demanding he get a full-time job, health insurance and sessions with a therapist, but he said he “didn’t need any of those things.”
“My parents alluded to the fact that they no longer wanted me living in the house, and I was devastated from the loss, and not seeing my son anymore,” Rotondo said. “After that, I was like, ‘I’m done with you guys.’”
Mark and Christina Rotondo said they gave their son multiple notices to vacate and even offered him money to help him find a place of his own.
Michael Rotondo admitted that he accepted the money, but used it for “other things.”
“I took it but with consideration for my plans, and how my finances interacted with those plans, I did use the money for other things, but I don’t regret that,” he said. “I would have preferred to have kept the money and given it back to them … but I had to use it, and that’s just how it is.”
He also accused his parents of trying to “stir something up” to support their court case against him.
“Me and my father recently tried to occupy the same space at the same time … so I said ‘excuse me,’ and he said, ‘I will not excuse you, Michael,’” he said “He’s just trying to stir something up so that he could get me to say something. It’s my overwhelming belief that he’s trying to make it so that he could try and call the police or something to support his case.”
Michael Rotondo had asked for six months to vacate, but the judge disagreed.
He said he was shocked by the ruling and that he couldn’t believe the judge would “make it so that these people can just throw me out instead of letting me stay here.”
Michael Rotondo also addressed critics, including some in his own neighborhood, who claim he wants to live rent-free forever.
“I don’t like living here at all, My parents and myself are like two parties that don’t speak the same language.”
“It’s a very serious thing to me to get out, but I have rights, and that’s really what it boils down to. I just want a little more time to get out of here.”
Everyday, we read or hear about stories of criminals using diabolical means to steal from their innocent victims.
Below is a narration from a lady who was duped of her belongings by three men in Surulere.
The beautiful lady shared the story on Instagram to warn people of the new tactics deployed by fraudsters in Lagos.
She wrote ;
“I was jazzed and duped in Akerele surulere Lagos 12pm yesterday by 3 old men, one pretended to be a Rev.Father, and the other pretended to b passing, the last was the cab man.
The Rev. as he said he is, was in a cab, so they asked direction from me, which I told them I don’t know I set to leave, and help them stop the other man that was going, as they tried stop him!
The man asked the old man in the cab if he was one of the Reverend father that came to pray for the kids that had accident in an hospital on bode Thomas, then he said yes, and said he saw a revelation that we should be careful crossing and travelling, we set to leave, and the other man said there must b a reason (I was under control already) so we crossed over, and stopped d cab, then we got in, and all this prophesy started concerning us, I was adamant @ first mehn but the jazz strong? unfortunately, I can’t recall a thing they said in that cab! I couldn’t even talk, I was just looking, and that’s all I could recall!
Then the Rev.Father asked the other man to get down, and he revealed what was going on in the man’s life and asked me to write it down, I did, and we later went to pick the man up, then I was asked to drop all I had on me, I did, and that was it (419) and jazz (phoneless, money too, where will I start from now! ???).
My face cleared until I got down from the cab.3 old men, between the age of 53 to 70. It was a red cab???. Are they now using old men? Ayele. Please beware of 419, they are so desperate. Am grateful to God it wasn’t my life they took.”
A Nigerian lady identified as Fola Ogunsemo who is schooling in Manchester, United Kingdom has taken to her Instagram page to reveal her shock in seeing the negative effects of internet fraud perpetrated by Nigerians.
Miss Fola posted screenshots of her examination question paper in which one of the questions was centred around internet fraud, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ in Nigeria.
“This is my exam paper for a module named “Law in a business context” with the red circle which I did today 23rd of May. Stepping out of the exam hall my friends were like “Fola how did you feel about question 22” and for the first time in my life, I felt ashamed of being a Nigerian.
I believe fraud is being committed everywhere but for it to be recognised and used as an exam question in UK, then it is VERY BAD for Nigeria. My lecture slide showed a typical example of a “yahoo boy’s” storyline in the green circle, I went further to search for “Advence-fee scam” with the belief that it was exaggerated in my lecture slide and I found the information in the blue circle.
I am short of words at the moment realising the fact that there’s been so much issues lately about “yahoo boys” on social media, this is not a good reputation for Nigerians at all……. This matter tire me ooo my people.”
Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has given N5million to the Best Graduating student of the Lagos State University (LASU), Fuhad Adetoro.

Governor Ambode also adopted Fuhad and pledged to sponsor Fuhad’s Masters programme to any University of his choice.
Governor Ambode said:
”In response to the best graduating student’s request, Lagos State Government does not generally give scholarship anymore but only bursary. So, I adopt him.
“His story is too compelling and it reflects on my own story. So, any university he wants to go, I will do it personally; I will be responsible.

It is reported that the two women have been, and are currently, living “harmoniously” with Ronaldinho in his mansion in Rio de Janeiro.
Ronaldinho, whose full name is Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, will wed his two partners in a private ceremony in the mansion, Brazilian media reports.
Brazilian columnist Leo Dias also claims that both women receive a monthly allowance of $5,000 from Ronaldinho to ‘spend as they please.’ They are to marry at a private ceremony inside the Santa Monica condominium in Rio.
The star’s sister, Deisi, who is against her brother’s polygamy, has already said she won’t be attending, according to Dias.
However, when the rumours of the engagement were first published last year, Ronaldinho took to social media to deny them.
Despite his denial, rumours are spreading about the upcoming ceremony, with local media claiming Brazilian singer Jorge Vercillo, who is Ronaldinho’s neighbour, has been confirmed as responsible for the wedding music.

Upsetting photographs show how one of Kruger’s National Park, South Africa’s most famous lions has grown old and sick.
The Lion, known as Skybed Scar, used to lead a pride but has now been pushed out from the protection and food his family used to provide.
Photographer Larry Anthony Pannell, 64, watched him for hours saying he knew he was ‘witnessing something very special – the real nature both life and death’. The elderly lion was being chased by an elephant and appeared weak and starving.
Larry, from California, US, said:
‘Life can be very cruel and to be honest during my career I have seen people lose everything in landslides, earthquakes and fires.
I have photographed automobile accidents with grave injuries. ‘I do not think any photograph or photo sequence affected me as much as witnessing the death of the lion. ‘I sat with him only feet away, locking eyes and starting at one another as I watched for an hour as the life leave his body. I wanted him to know he would not die alone.
Not wanting to sound crass I remember when my grandmother was in the hospital and I visited her for the last time the night she passed. ‘We did not say a word, both of us just knew this was the end and we just stared at each other locking eyes. ‘This is the first time since then that I felt the same feeling – connecting with another being on a spiritual level, just knowing.’
Kemi Olunloyo has again fired back at Linda Ikeji, and she is still insisting the Billionaire Blogger isn’t still pregnant.
It all started when Linda announced her pregnancy on Social media, and Kemi claimed the pregnancy wasn’t real, that she infact was wearing a prosthetic baby bump.
Linda replied to Kemi of course by sharing pictures of her bare bump.. She shared the photos accompanying them with details on her pregnancy. Linda wrote:
Most of the people who know me will tell you that I have a heart of gold and maybe that’s why God never stops blessing me. This woman (you know who…lol) has been trolling me for years and calling me all sorts of unprintable names which I have never responded to. But when she cried out for help last year, despite the abuses I’ve gotten from her, I sent money to her account.
I harbor no hate for anyone, no matter what. And I swear I would have sent more money to her if people around me hadn’t stopped me. I just felt pity for her that she was languishing in prison and no one to help her. And not only did I send money (which I did privately and she made public), I called a few people I know to see what they could do to help bring her out of prison. No matter what, she is a woman, and I am all about women supporting women.
She wrote that I am wearing a prosthetic baby bump…lol. Like I could get away with that in Nigeria? And some folks actually believe it…lol. If I couldn’t have a child, I would proudly adopt. Proudly. I love children so much. But fortunately, God blessed me with a womb to carry my own child.
I was just hiding the baby bump until I got to my second trimester before letting you amazing people know. I could have continued hiding it to be honest but I just couldn’t keep calm…lol. I’ve had the easiest pregnancy with no swelling and no issues and I thank God.
Lastly, here’s something I want to say to everyone. I remember when I bought my house in Banana Island in 2015, many didn’t believe it. In fact one tweet said ‘If you believe that Linda Ikeji owns a home in Banana Island, I seriously doubt your higher institution certificate’. That’s how much they doubted God’s blessings…lol
Kemi didn’t relent of course.. and this time revealed that Linda is wearing a moonbump..
For a final blow, Kemi cursed Linda.. Calling her unprintable names. Read what she wrote below:
#lindaisnotpregnant
People STOP spreading lies Wale Gates! I should start listing who donated what. Stupid dumb fool.
A MESSAGE FOR #LINDAIKEJI @officialLindaikeji I was trying to promote your stupid ass by announcing your N100k. Idiotic moron. Punch called me telling me that you sent me 100k while I was “languishing” in prison. When I came out the first time, Dumo gave me 850k, Miriam and Halima gave me 200k each and the list goes on.
People don’t want me to criticize you because you donated to me. That’s what ruined Nigeria. You can’t report about certain personalities because they are sacred. I will continue to expose your lies.
May God paralyze your livelihood and everything you lay your hands on like they did mine for telling Punch that wicked statement and may you and your family members languish in prison some day.
The last time I cursed you is when you destroyed Adeola’s wedding sleeping with Dan two weeks before the wedding, snatched DBanj from Uche and lied that she was sleeping with Ikechukwu. I told you that you will never marry or have kids. It is now catching up. You need to apologize for that rubbish.
Send me your account details to return your ritual money. People are in my twitter DM telling me you allegedly used your womb for rituals to get super rich, others saying you allegedly slept around to get money to build your empire.
Regardless you gave me a mere 100K AND I DON’T APPRECIATE IT. TAKE IT BACK you homewrecker preaching celibacy. MAY YOU BE SERIOUSLY DISGRACED WHEN YOUR MOONBUMP FALLS OFF LIKE BEYONCE.
