Alex Iwobi was born on the 3rd of May 1996 in Lagos, Nigeria.
He is the nephew of former professional footballer Jay-Jay Okocha, and he joined Arsenal while still at primary school, and was first involved in a first-team match as an unused substitute in a League Cup match against West Bromwich Albion on 25 September 2013.
Alexander recently admitted that he has difficulties in singing the Nigerian national anthem which he is yet to fully learn.

The desire to be loved, admired, desired, respected, treated fairly and kindly is part of our teleology. So when anybody willingly and voluntarily subjects himself or herself to vile and inhumane treatments for other considerations it basically reduces that person to an object rather than a subject. The person has objectified himself or herself.
Believe it or not, what we are witnessing today is one of the unintended fallouts of the extreme faction of feminism: The Moral Self-Depreciation of Womenfolk. After all, the cardinal philosophy of modern feminism is CHOICE and SELF AUTONOMY. So who are we to question a woman who CHOOSES to stay in an abusive but profitable relationship? If she has a right to choose who stays in her body and a right to choose her role in a marriage, why not this?
I once wrote a piece on the tyranny of freewill (choice). Generally, humans don’t have the tool box necessary to make good choices. A man’s choice will only be consistent with his true nature. And man is deeply flawed by nature, hence his choices must necessarily be flawed. A greedy man will always choose money above morals, yet he needs morals more. A dog by nature must bark and a cat moan.
Knowing this, it is therefore suicidal to build an ideology on human choices and self autonomy. Nobody (man or woman) should be self autonomous. In reality, nobody is. Everyone needs a governing and regulatory authority that sets boundaries; both moral and spatial boundaries. This is necessary for the survival of humanity because our natural appetite is self destructive. We need to be delivered from ourselves.
Feminism is toxic not because of its intended consequences but because of its unintended ones, and we are already seeing them play out. If consistency matters, no hardline feminist should be able to condemn any woman who chooses abuse and disrespect over self dignity. IT IS HER CHOICE!
We should not teach our daughters that CHOICE is the best power they have. Knowledge is. With knowledge they’d understand that they don’t just make choices but that their choices make them.

Detectives attached to Yaba Police Division, Wednesday rescued two minors, 10-year-old Mukaila Ya’u and two-year-old Mariam Jubril from their abductor, one Mary Henry.
The suspect, had abducted the two kids along Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba, while on their way to an errand.
The state Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, who paraded the suspect before newsmen wednesday evening said the abductor was first noticed by the Yaba Divisional Police Officer, CSP Mary Ubangha, who was on a surveillance duty along Little Road, Yaba.
Edgal said the DPO observed that the middle aged woman who was going along the road appeared worried and restless.
He said: “The DPO observed the woman’s worried countenance and felt that something is amiss. She l decided to trail her. However, the suspect noticed that she was under surveillance and diverted into Saint Dominic Catholic Church, Yaba.
“The DPO followed her up and warned the church security men to keep an eye on the woman and never allow her exit the church without the police ascertaining her identity and mission to the church.
“The security men obliged and brought the woman and the children before the DPO. During interrogation, the woman gave her name as Mary Vera Henry of No. 6, Akanni Street, Shomolu.
“It was discovered that she was not the biological mother of the children who are of different parents. The names of the children are: Mukaila Ya’u, 10 and Mariam Jubril , 2.
“She claimed that she lost her 20-year-old daughter whom diviners told her had been reduced in size and stature to a 2-year-old child and that the 2-year-old child looked exactly like her missing 20-year-old daughter.
” The woman was arrested and taken to the station for further interrogation. While at the station, the biological parents of the children surfaced and gave their names as:
Jubril Garba, father of the 2-year-old girl and Mukaila Amidu, father of the 10-year-old boy.
“The father of the 10-year-old told the police that he actually sent his son on an errand and that as he was going the 2-year-old girl accompanied him unknown to her parent.
“However, along the road the suspect lured the children away from their course to unknown destination. Investigation into the case is ongoing and effort is on to arrest the fleeing brother of the suspect believed to be a co-conspirator of the crime.”
A visibly angry Edgal, threatened to deal with parents who are in the habit of sending their underaged children to the market unaccompanied.
He said: “With the foregoing, I hereby reiterate my call to parents to keep an eye on their children.
“The Command will not hesitate to arrest negligent parents and prosecute them in accordance with relevant sections of the law, particularly, section 247 and 249 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
Meanwhile, the suspect who pretended to be mad denied the allegation insisting that she was being framed by one Shanta Orji, and one Mama Blessing who she claimed paid some people the sum of N50,000 to rope her in.

Embattled senator, Dino Melaye was on Wednesday re-arrested by the police in court after the magistrate court granted him bail.
The senator was arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja amid heavy presence of police officers.
He was arraigned on charges bordering on his alleged escape from a police vehicle in Abuja on April 24, 2018.
The presiding magistrate, Mabel Segun-Bello, granted him bail in the sum of N90m.
Punch quoted Melaye’s lawyer, Mr. Nkem Okoro, as saying that his client met the bail conditions granted by the court but the senator was re-arrested by the police on the court premises.
“He met his bail conditions but the police decided to re-arrest him on the excuse that they were taking him to Lokoja tomorrow morning,” Okoro said.
Melaye laid on a stretcher when he was produced in court in a police ambulance with registration number NPF2214D on Wednesday.
Over 200 policemen were deployed to the court on Wednesday.
They left the court premises in a convoy which comprised the ambulance conveying Melaye at about 4.20pm.

Amidst all the hoopla surrounding the luxury SUV vehicle popular singer, David Adeleke aka Davido bought for his girlfriend Chioma, different figures have been bandied about concerning the value of the Porsche.
Some news sources put the value of the car at N45 million, this is nowhere near the case, as the car is clearly a tokunbo vehicle.
Even brand new Cayennes can be obtained for less than N45 million.
According to research conducted by auto aficionado’s, the truck is a 2011 model which retails from about ($25,000) N10 million, exclusive of customs and other charges.
The total value of the vehicle is usually less than N20 million. However the trim Davido purchased seems to be full options probably bringing the total value of the car to about N20 million.
This is still a large sum of money but nowhere near the N45 million that would be spent to obtain a newer model of the vehicle.
Even the 2018 model starts retailing from about $65000 (N24 million) and certainly to get it to Nigeria will still be less than N40 million, depending on how ambitious the car dealer is.
Still that doesnt take away from the fact that Davido has certainly splurged on the love of his life. Its just not as big a spluge as certain media elements have hyped it to be.

Officials of the Osun State Internal Revenue Service (OIRS) has shut down the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, over its failure to remit over N1.844,770,939.45 to the agency.
Officials of the Revenue Task Force led by one Oladipo Babatunde, arrived the campus at about 7am today, sealed the Senate Chamber and the administrative building of the institution before proceeding to seal the main gate, leaving the pedestrian gate unlocked.
Mr. Oladipo in a chat with newsmen, alleged the institution owed the state government about N1.8 billion and has failed to meet up the 7-day deadline given to the school management to clear the debt.
Reacting to the development, the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olanrewaju, said the tax outstanding was accumulated by past administrations of the school. He however added that the school management is working to resolve the issue and get the institution re-opened.
“I must add this that the present university administration since 2017 has been paying consistently but the backlog of debt inherited from the past administration is what is causing this little problem. Everything will be resolved by the grace of God. The school management is assuring the public that it will soon be resolved,” he said
