Cee-C and Alex almost came to exchanging blows this afternoon.

They were involved in a massive burst up as they obviously still have some unresolved issues with one another.

Big Brother had given the housemates a task where they had to be shared into 3 groups.

Alex, Tobi and Bambam were in a group, Cee-C, Rico and TeddyA were in another group, and Nina, Miracle and Lolu in another group.

According to Alex, Cee-C had mentioned Tobi and Bambam would do well in that group, and that Rico should join their group.

Alex reacted to this and asked Cee-C to mention the name of the person she wants out, instead of talking in parables. Cee-C took offence this and raised her voice.

Recall that, Alex had come to Nina’s defense and called on Cee-C to stop looking down on people in an heated conversation the latter had with Nine.

We had earlier posted about how both Cee-C and Nina also nearly came to blows over the latter’s supposed unfair behaviour.

Alex was quoted as saying “There is no level in this house Cee-c.

“When you say unto what level , who are you, you are looking down on people, you don’t tell people who are you.

“I do not like that kind of question, you have a shallow mind.”

Nigerian lady narrates how a 14 year old rape victim was forced by her parents to marry her rapist

A Nigerian lady on Twitter, has shocked many with her narrative of how the parents of a 14 year old raped victim was forced to marry her rapist.

Twitter user, Habeeb took to her page to share how the parents of the rape victim forced her to marry her rapist instead of pursuing the case in court.

According to Habeeb, the girl’s parents had initially sought justice for their daughter, but moments later, they had a change of heart.

This change of heart according to Habeeb, came because the 14 year old girl is now pregnant and the family doesn’t want their story to be heard by the public.

Habeeb shared of another story akin to this one as she said the parents of a girl child had monetary settlements with the parents of the rapist.

The EFCC, on Tuesday, 20 March, 2018, arraigned Leeroy Egebe, (alias Amedeo Dante William, Alhassan Davide) before Justice E. A. Obile of the Federal High Court.

Sitting in Warri, Delta State on an 8-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of $18,023.96.

Egebe’s troubles began when one Vivian Varotto-Guigoz, a citizen of Switzerland, petitoned the EFCC alleging that she met one Amedeo William Dante (the defendant).

He claimed to be an Italian living in the United Kingdom on a social dating site called “Badoo”.

They became lovers, exchanging emotions and later cash.

She alleged that on several occasions, between 12 May and 14 October, 2015, she wired a total sum of CHF 196,701,44 and EUR 15, 957.43 to different individuals.

These individuals are in the United Kingdom, Canada and Nigeria.

This was done at the request of Dante, for sundry reasons which she later discovered to be fraudulent.

The payments were allegedly made in five installments:

Two into British accounts belonging to Amedeo William Dante and Dittimi Tamara-Finide;

while three were made into Nigerian accounts belonging to Alhassan Davide and Edin Obaro.

The petitioner also alleged that the defendant was reaching her through some English, Canadian and Nigerian telephone numbers.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to him.

In view of his pleas, the prosecution counsel, M. T. Iko asked the court to fix a date for the commencement of trial.

However, counsel to the defendant, K. D Alufe, made an oral application for bail for his client.

He argued that the alleged offences were bailable and that the defendant did not jump an earlier administrative bail by the prosecution..

In his ruling, Justice Obile granted the defendant bail in the sum of N3, 000,000.00 (Three Million Naira), one surety in like sum.

The surety must be a public servant in the service of Federal or Delta state government on grade level 12 and above.

The defendant and the surety must depose to an affidavit of means among other conditions. T

The matter was adjourned to 10 May, 2018 for trial.

Finally, the defendant was remanded in prison custody pending the perfection of his bail conditions.

Abducted Dapchi Schoolgirls release confirmed by Presidency

The presidency has confirmed the release of Dapchi schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram insurgents.

According to the presidency, Ministers of Information and Defence have just briefed the press ahead of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting.

The released girls are in the custody of DSS and being documented; and no ransoms were paid.

Earlier, we had reported the Dapchi schoolgirls kidnapped from their school had been freed by their abductors.

Sources said the girls were brought to Dapchi by persons suspected to be their Boko Haram abductors.

Five of the girls are, however, feared dead.

About 110 girls were kidnapped from Government Girls Science and Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State, on 19 February, in a raid President Muhammadu Buhari described as a “national disaster.”

Amnesty International yesterday said the Nigerian military was warned prior the raid similar to the one that led to the kidnap of Chibok girls on April 14, 2014.

It blamed the latest kidnap on the “inexcusable security lapses” on the part of the military.

“The government’s failure in this incident must be investigated and the findings made public — and it is absolutely crucial that any investigation focuses on the root causes,” said Amnesty’s Nigeria director Osa Ojigho.

But the Nigerian military said that Amnesty goofed. A military spokesman Brigadier General John Agim said AI’s report was a “calculated attempt to whip up sentiments and mislead unsuspecting Nigerians.”

AI, however, insisted that between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm on February 19, at least five calls were made to tell the security services that Islamist fighters were in the Dapchi area.

Shock as woman allegedly gives birth to a Lizard after two years of pregnancy

Several reports on Facebook have it that a particular woman allegedly gave birth to a reptile in a town’s market in Rivers state after two years of carrying the pregnancy.

Some Facebook users have taken to the platform to share, with photos, how a lady was who has been pregnant for two years gave birth to a lizard at Omoku market, Rivers state.

A user, Ahamuefuna Ijeoma Darlintina, who shared the most photos, wrote,

“speechless….God forbid….a woman after two years of pregnant…giving birth to a lizard… in market omoku ….it was a shocked to me”

“Ban codeine syrup now” – Sokoto governor, Aminu Tambuwal urges FG

Bothered by the excessive abuse of the cough syrup by youths and even married women, particularly in the Northern region, Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has called on the Federal government to ban the sale of syrups that have codeine as part of its constituents.

Governor Tambuwal made the appeal when he spoke at a workshop on Addiction and Prevention held at the Sultan Maccido Institute of Quran and General Studies, Sokoto yesterday, March 20th.

Represented by the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Balarabe Kakale, Governor Tambuwal said the cough syrups with codeine should be banned because they are not saving lives.

The Federal Government should ban the sale of codeine in Nigeria because they are not life saving drugs.” he said

Sometime ago, the Lagos State Government arrested three pupils of Atunrashe High School, Mushin, for smoking and being in possession of Indian hemp and substance known as codeine.

The pupils were nabbed by officials of Lagos State Neighbourhood and Safety Corps (LNSC).

LNSC officials found the three under-aged boys, whose names were withheld, while smoking Indian hemp and using codeine in the Surulere area of Lagos from where they were then traced to their school.

Reacting to the development, the state Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Agboola Dabiri, said the state government would not condone illegality, adding that plans are at an advanced stage for them to be sent to a correctional home for reformation.

Davido and Small Doctor allegedly accused of copyright infringements

Popular Nigerian hitmakers, Davido and Small Doctor have been accused of copyright infringement.

King Sunny Ade’s manager, Mr Clement Ige reportedly called out the duo for using lyrics from veteran Juju musician’s songs without seeking for the permission to do so.

Ige expressed his dissatisfaction towards the action of the singers, using lyrics from KSA’s songs in their hit songs and not even giving credit to the original owner of the lyrics.

Speaking at Goldberg’s Ariya Repete Roundtable discourse in Abeokuta, the manager revealed that young generation singers are not doing things the right way.

He added that their songs lyrics are filled with jargon that make no literal sense.

He said;

“They use English language to speak Yoruba. Like the young man who sang ‘makole marale.’ How do you build house before buying a land?

“Many of them don’t give credit to the original composer of the song they adopt.

“They just sing it without seeking permission. That’s a copyright infringement. It’s not done in developed societies.

“Till today, Small Doctor didn’t get our permission before and after singing ‘ijó tí m’ojó l’àná, tí wọn n’pariwo, oni nkọ, ola nkọ.’

“And many of them are guilty of this.

“The Davido that used Sunny’s lyrics in his song didn’t even get it right and that’s because he didn’t ask for permission.

“If he did, we would have corrected him. What is ‘Kuluso ewe, agbagba ewe…?’

“The line is actually ‘Seleru agbo, agbara agbo’.

“I know because I co-wrote the song!”

The police in Lagos have arrested the owner of Collabor Hotel, an inn on Ige Street in the Iyana Ipaja area of the state, for allegedly hosting underage sex workers in the facility.

The owner of the hotel, John Okon, was apprehended along with the hotel manager, Emmanuel Thomas.

Their alleged accomplice, Monica Ita, was said to be at large.

PUNCH Metro learnt that operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, acting on intelligence, busted the hotel on Saturday, March 10, 2018.

They also caught a 15-year-old primary school leaver allegedly engaging in prostitution.

The girl was said to have been brought from her village in the eastern part of the country by Ita a few weeks ago on the pretext that she (Ita) would get her a good job.

According to Punch , one Destiny Bassey, 19, and 18-year-old Bright Effiong, who was said to have been at the inn for three years, were also picked up by the operatives.

During a parade on Tuesday at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja, the hotel operators admitted to providing service for the sex workers, except the 15-year-old girl.

The hotel manager, Thomas, said:

“It is true that we provide rooms for sex workers where men visit them.

We collect N5,000 from them (the sex workers) every week.

We don’t give them out to men; they bring their customers themselves.”

The 15-year-old told PUNCH Metro that Ita persuaded her to come to Lagos when she (Ita) saw her playing around the village.

She said, “I finished from primary school two years ago, but I could not continue my study because my parents died.

Aunty Monica (Ita) came to the village and asked me to follow her to Abuja. She said she would get me a good job.

“Some days after I got to Lagos, she took me to the hotel to do prostitution. I had yet to get a room when the police came to pick us.”

Bold and unabashed, Bassey, who gave her age as 25, said she slept with five men per day and collected N2,000 from each of her customers.

The Imo State indigene added that joblessness pushed her to the act.

She said, “Nobody forced me into prostitution. I have been hustling at the hotel for some years now.

I send part of the money I make to my relatives in the village for the upkeep of my child. I don’t have parents and my husband is dead.

“I sleep with five men every day, so I make as much as N10,000. I pay the hotel N5,000 every week. I wanted to save enough money for my education.”

Finally, Effiong, an indigene of Calabar, Cross River State, also said she went to bed with five men daily, adding that some of her customers paid N1,000.

“I came to the hotel last year and paid N3,000 per week for a room. I did only one round with each customer,” she added.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, said the command swung into action following a tip-off that a syndicate was running a prostitution ring.

“A team of FSARS operatives stormed Collabor Hotel and arrested a 15-year-old girl.

She confessed that she was brought to the hotel some weeks ago by one Monica Ita.

The coordinators of the prostitution ring, Emmanuel Thomas and John Okon, were also arrested.

The case will be charged to court at the completion of investigation,” the CP added.

#BBNaija: OAP Daddy Freeze asks Biggie to award Miracle the N45m grand prize already

Controversial OAP and covener of the #FreeTheSheeple movement, Daddy Freeze, has called on Biggie and the organizers of the Big Brother Naija reality game show to just award Miracle the grand prize of N45million.

4-year-old girl starved, burned alive and beaten to death by her mother and boyfriend

The death of 4-year-old Aniya Day-Garrett has left the world shocked.

This is because of the torture she suffered at the hands of her mother and her boyfriend before she was killed.

Anya was allegedly beaten to death by her mother and her boyfriend on Sunday, March 11.

Prior to that, she was starved and had her feet and legs burned.

As a result of the torture, the child died in Euclid Hospital in Cleveland on Sunday from a stroke.

Medical examiners said the stroke was caused by repeated blows to the head.

Her mother Sierra Day, 23, and Day’s boyfriend Deonte Lewis, 26, were charged with aggravated murder and held on $1 million bonds.

Day and her boyfriend called 911 at about 11.30am on Sunday to report that Aniya was unresponsive and not breathing.

Day claimed Aniya started “acting weird” when they took her to Red Lobster the previous Thursday.

She had fallen off a toilet seat on Sunday.

She said her daughter was unable to keep food or water down and threw up the Tylenol she gave her.

Also, she barely ate any breakfast the morning of her death.

But when police arrived, they saw that Aniya’s skin appeared to be “extremely pale and lifeless,” and her face and neck were “very small and emaciated”.

The toddler also had what appeared to be rug burn marks on her feet and legs and was so malnourished paramedics “could see the individual joints” of her fingers.

Doctors then noticed a big bruise on her left eye which was nearly swollen shut, a cut above her left eyebrow, and scald marks on both legs.

It has been revealed that Harbor Crest Child Care filed an abusing a minor report against Day in May 2017 allegedly documenting 18 months of injuries to Aniya.

Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services also conducted three separate investigations into allegations of neglect last year.

However, it concluded there was not enough evidence to remove the child from her mother’s home.

Aniya’s father Mickhal Garrett had been fighting to gain custody of his daughter and made repeated complaints accusing Day and Lewis of harming and abusing the child.

Day was scheduled to meet with a social worker on Monday, March 19 to discuss Mickhal Garrett’s petition for an emergency custody but Aniya was killed before then.

As Day and boyfriend Lewis faced court on Tuesday, Aniya’s father jumped to his feet and screamed in anguish:

“You killed my f***ing child! You hurt my baby.”

He then collapsed into the arms of family members and sobbed uncontrollably.

Garrett has accused Child Protective Service of failing him and his child.

“We want them to be held accountable,” said Garrett. “CPS failed me. They failed us all. Nobody should have to go through this. So many people tried and tried to make sure Aniya Marie Garrett was safe and they failed our family.”

Earlier, Cee-C had a heated argument with Nina, and they almost came to blows, over the latter’s supposed unfair behaviour.

Their fellow housemate, Alex of course quickly took to Nina’s defense, and called on Cee-C to stop looking down on people.

She’s quoted as saying:

“There is no level in this house Cee-c.

“When you say unto what level, who are you, you are looking down on people, you don’t tell people who are you.

“I do not like that kind of question, you have a shallow mind.”

Babcock graduate commits suicide after killing girlfriend in Canada

A Babcock graduate, Onoseta Oribhabor has reportedly committed suicide after murdering his 27-year old girlfriend in Toronto, Canada.

According to information gathered, on March 6, the police were called to a condo building in the north end of the city.

They found Oribhabor dead on a balcony.

They found a woman inside a unit with obvious signs of trauma after a further research.

She was treated for injuries but ultimately died.

Oribhabor graduated from Babcock University, Ogun State, before leaving for Canada as reported online.

Police characterize the case as a murder-suicide and have listed 27-year-old Essozinam Assali as the city’s 10th homicide victim of the year.

They have identified the 30-year-old man as Onoseta Oribhabor of Edmonton.

Police describe the deaths as a domestic incident and say no other suspects are being sought.

While those close to Assali allege Oribhabor was her boyfriend, but Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook would not confirm the relationship.

Ontario has seen an unusually high number of domestic-related deaths since the beginning of the year.

Gender-based violence experts have documented more than a dozen cases of women or their family members killed by past or present intimate partners.

A number of people expressed condolences and referred to her as “Martine.”

“It is very difficult to express how shock I am with the news of your death considering we only spoke three weeks ago.

“Words can’t describe how caring and great you are,” wrote Eddie Idisi.

“Words can’t describe how nice a person you were and how blessed I was to have known and be a brother and friend to you.”

The truth about typing “BFF” on Facebook revealed!

For the umpteenth time, I have come across a message that reads;

“Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, invented the word BFF. To make sure your account is safe on Facebook, type BFF in a comment.

If it appears green, your account is protected. If it does not appear green, change your password immediately because it will be hacked.”

“#Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook inventor, Make sure you do not think about your page or account,

Type Bff in a comment, If it appears green, your account is protected and if it appears normal, you must change the password. Try it”‘

Yes, it is true that typing BFF into Facebook, makes the letters turn green, but then, this is in no way an indication that the security of your account is at risk.

This makes no sense whatsoever.

This is, the word, “BFF” is a special word/comment chosen by Facebook, that upon being typed, it produces a brief visual animation to appear on the screen.

The letters colloquially mean “best friends forever”, and typing in the comment shows two hands “high fiving”.

(After making the BFF comment. You can also tap on the GREEN BFF and you’d see two hands “High-fiving).

That’s literally all there is to it.

Reasons why some people are fooled into believing that the Almighty Facebook, or Zuckerberg, would introduce the “BFF” as a method of determining if your account is at risk, is just beyond us

Because it makes little sense. The messages does not describe or explain exactly how an account is at risk, rather just ambiguously states that they are.

The hoax bears resemblance to an earlier hoax from 2016 that claimed typing in #177 as a comment could reveal a green bar which indicates that your account “has been hacked”.

Just like this rumour, that was also false.

The bottom line – this is a hoax.

2018 UTME: Candidates query JAMB over results on Twitter

Some 2018 UTME candidates on Twitter are asking JAMB to explain why their results have not been released.

After waiting for the final release of their results on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 as promised by JAMB, candidates who are yet to see their results have taken to Twitter to question the exam body.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Head of Media and Information of JAMB had announced on Sunday, March 18, 2018, that the results would be released in batches between Monday, March 19 and Tuesday, March 20.

According to Daily Post, in a telephone interview with them, Benjamin had said “the results can be assessed from Tuesday afternoon.”

However, some of the candidates who have tried to check their results have not been able to see their UTME scores.

Frustrated by lack of access to their result, the candidates took to Twitter to ask the exam body to explain why their results have not been released as announced.

@Realabdulmajeed tweeted on behalf of his brother who sat for the exam on Monday, March 12.

He said his brother’s result has not been released, and JAMB tweeted back saying, “Kindly note that the results are being released in batches.”

However, while the candidates kept asking questions about what is wrong and when their results would eventually be released, JAMB did not respond to any of the questions apart from the first reply.

Recall that on Sunday, March 2018, the board spokesman, Fabian Benjamin said the 2018 UTME results would be delayed because the results have to undergo total scrutiny before being posted on JAMB website.

The 2018 UTME, which started on Friday, March 9, 2018, has since ended on Saturday, March 17, 2018.

Pregnant woman shot dead by rival gang a day after her Brother’s Funeral

A Thirty-three-year-old woman and another man have been shot dead in suspected gang violence.

The woman identified as Megan Goosen was reportedly six months pregnant.

According to IOL, the woman’s family has already been in mourning after her brother’s funeral on Saturday.

The brother, Houston Goosen, was gunned down in Rembrandt Street, South Africa, last week.

It is believed Megan was trying to flee after rival gangs started shooting in the area just after 9 pm on Sunday.

Police say an unidentified man was killed in the same incident.

It is not clear whether he was affiliated to any of the gangs or not.

Megan was found after homeowner Lucas Lyon saw her feet peeking out from behind his car.

She was lying on her side, with one Nike slippers on and the other lying next to her.

Lyon says his son asked him to check out the “suspicious feet” near the vehicle.

“My son woke me on Monday just after 7 am because he could see feet next to our car in the yard from the top floor.

When we came down to see what was happening, we discovered a gruesome scene,” Lyon says.

A family member of Megan’s, who did not wish to be named for her own safety, says the family is already battling to deal with the death of her brother.

And now she is also gone.

“I saw Megan on Saturday at her brother’s funeral.

I still joked with her as she was wearing high heels and I told her she’d better walk carefully with those heels and her pregnant stomach.

“She was six months pregnant; why shoot her?” the relative asked.

Megan worked as a domestic worker at a house in Carnation Road and her employer says the mom-to-be was a trustworthy person.

“She was a wonderful person, she used to work in my home as a domestic worker and I never had any problems with Megan.

I could trust her in my home,” the woman said.

Police spokesperson, Sinathi Joni, says no arrests have been made in either shooting.

“A murder case is under investigation following the discovery of the body of a 33-year-old woman in Scottsville, Kraaifontein.”

“Circumstances surrounding the discovery are under investigation with no arrests at this stage,” Joni said.

On Twitter, a Nigerian doctor identified as @OrjiOkeOsisi narrated his encounter with an abusive boyfriend who brought his girlfriend to the clinic he works in.

He had battered her for cheating.

According to the Twitter user, the assaulted cheating girlfriend was brought to the hospital with a bleeding nose and mouth, and a dislocated shoulder.

He further stated that he gave her the number of DVSRT, but he rejected saying; they were going home to solve the issue amicably
