A student of Gateway Polytechnic, Igbesa, Ogun State, identified as Aaliyah Kennedy died over the weekend, while in labour and the baby didn’t survive.
Friends and family members of the pretty student have since taken to social media to pay their tributes to the young lady.
Nigerian comedian, Bovi has shared his two cents on the ongoing situation between actress Dorcas Shola Fapson and a Taxify driver she alleged tried to abduct and rape her.
He took to his Instagram page to write her an open letter and to, as well encourage Dorcas to keep her chin up and not let the accusations from Nigerians affect her.
He writes to her as a friend that refuses to remain silent “while a section of society bashed you these past few days”.
Read his Open Letter below…
Dear Dorcas,
I’m compelled to write you a public letter because I have an overwhelming urge to participate in the public discuss of your recent episode. As a friend, I will feel I failed you by remaining quiet while a section of society bashed you these past few days. But rather than defend you to a group of people who don’t know you personally and who have made up their minds even in the face of overwhelming evidence, allow me to publicly tell you about your experience, what you did right and what you should have done differently.
First off, your biggest crime in all of this was not fitting into the stereotype! You’ve been dragged in many sections for being bold and courageous under fire. While the taxi driver was taken you to a wrong destination, just because your voice was firm and assertive, it seemed as though nothing troubling was happening. While the driver restrained you from coming down from the taxi, you pepper sprayed him and your voice and resolve was still not broken. This too doesn’t fit the stereotype. If it was a scene out of a movie, the director would probably ask you to scream, cry, be shaken and even beg to be let go. In the eyes of many, you were too bold, too calm, too calculated for a lady. To this I say a big kudos. Don’t stop. Don’t change. Because the fact remains, as far as he took you to a destination against your will in the middle of the night, you were abducted. That is a crime punishable by law. Somewhere, some girl is inspired by your boldness.
Next time though, it will be wiser to get down from the car as quickly as possible. Do not take chances or hesitate. Safety first should be your watch word. Cynthia hesitated in festac. It didn’t end well.
If you had a PR expert by your side the next day, just before you posted those videos explaining what actually transpired, he/she would have worn you a very thick cardigan and wrapped you in a blanket. You would have been asked to speak in a “victim tone”. All this would have been channeled to swing the narrative in your favor. Kudos to you, you weren’t trying to milk the situation, neither were you thinking of the mileage those videos will accumulate. You see, perception is reality and in these parts, your outfit together with your still firm and assertive tone is synonymous with “troublesome girl” “ashawo” “runs”. Pictures speak louder than words. On this issue I think what you should have done differently was to change the outfit. But keep the assertive tone. When I was in Uni my dean of students took one look at me and concluded I was part of a bad gang. In reality I was just broke, hungry, angry and ugly. That’s the power of perception.
We live in a society where women are not encouraged to live in big houses as single ladies so that they don’t scare suitors away. This is basically catering to bloated egos while benching our women. It is a shame but that is our reality. I know you are miffed at the accusations leveled against you. Never let such bother you. Truth is, those who judged and condemned you don’t really hate you. A good majority of them hate themselves. They are filled with hate and they can only give what they have; hate! So understand that it’s never really about you. It’s nothing personal actually.
We are with you. Learn and keep growing. Stay strong and succeed. See you at work.

Also, there was a launch show that went down at Pearl Hall, Ikeja.. and we brought you some photos.. See that here.
Now here’s the thing, folks on Social media are already wishing one of the housemates, Tobi Bakre is sent packing already.. as he’s a “very popular” clubber, Big Boy and a show off.
Tobi Bakre is a 23 year old banker, who graduated from Unilag, and many are saying the broke the heart of many ladies in that school.
A Twtter user @ChiefWale_ narrated How Tobi also snatched his girlfriend from him 2 years ago. “I haven’t seen any part of the BBN yet because in transit but I hope that Tobi guy gets out of the house ASAP. The stupid boy snatched one babe from me 2 years ago.”
He had just three weeks to tie the knot with his fiance, but before he could say “I do” to her, He stumbled upon a dirty secret between his wife-to-be and his best man.
It was gathered that the man’s girlfriend of 5 years was sleeping with his best man. Here’s @Jenniieey’s tweets;
“What will u do if u find out ur fiance/fiancee is cheating on u with d bridesmaid/bestman 3 weeks to ur wedding?. My friend is devastated right now & totally confused,He gav me permission to post his story. He caught his fiancee wiv his best man(best friend)”
“They’ve been dating for over 5yrs & got engaged last year and the wedding is suppose to happen in 3weeks.. He love this babe so much, he’s done stuff for her, he treated her like a Queen and respect her.. most times wen she comes around to his place”
“His friends r around after work.. He introduced her to one of them who is his best friend years ago and not best man but I guess they went behind his back and took the introduction to another level.. although he said he was suspecting the closeness”
“But he thought he was just paranoid and didn’t think a thing like that could happen between them..cos he trust both of them.. but for years they’ve been doing stuff behind his back..They all hang out, eat together and gist but nothing prepared him for this”
“He traveled few days ago and was suppose to come back Thursday..but 4days ago, another friend called him to inform him that something is not right with his bride to be and his best man that he is only telling him cos he feels it’s d right thing to do”
“My friend thought dis guy who told him stuff was just one of those bad Belle people who don’t want u to settle down..he kept thinkin about it but didn’t tell anyone. So yesterday he decided to leave Abuja for Lagos but didn’t tell anyone he had changed his plan”
“He cancelled his travel from Thursday (4days from now) and brought it to yesterday..he arrived Lagos and went home straight but in mind he was praying that everything he heard was not true..he got home (his fiancee stays with him) and used his key”
“He went straight to the bedroom and when he opened the door, he said he almost fainted.. everything was true.. she was in bed wiv his best man and he said he didn’t know wat to do but that if he had reacted,he wud have attacked his friend because he betrayed him”
“So he said he just turned back and closed the door and left the house for them .. he went to his mom’s house but don’t know what and how to tell her what he saw .. How do u tell u mom u saw ur bride to be in bed with your best man 3weeks to ur wedding”
“Everything is done and ready .. invitation cards sent out, hall booked.. and the funniest thing she’s been calling and texting that it’s a mistake and she’s sorry but he should not cancel the wedding cause people will shame her and insult her”
“She even got her mom to call him to talk to him but she didn’t tell her mom d reason y he’s angry wiv her, she just tod her mom that they had a fight and he’s not talking to her.. my friend said he doesn’t know how and if to tell his fiancee’s mom wat he saw”
“He’s confused and doesn’t know what to do, if to cancel d wedding or tell his mom or his fiancee’s mom what really happened but according to him he can’t trust her again or his best man and can’t have d wedding with her and he has tod her already”
“But how will he tell his family and her family about his decision to cancel the wedding..visitors coming for d wedding, how will he inform them.. he needs to know the right way to handle this situation..he is reading my thread so pls tell him”

Founder of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman has reacted to a recent confession in his church by his erstwhile accuser, Stephanie Otobo.
Canada-based Otobo had accused the clergyman of engaging in an extramarital affair with her and promising her marriage.
Suleman strongly denied the accusation.
However, on Saturday, January 27, Otobo recanted and confessed that she was paid heavily by some politicians to smear the clergyman’s reputation.
Stephanie Otobo
Taking via his verified Twitter account, Suleman said:
“The enemies of the church are confessing like witches..all happening same time…Lies have a lifespan, only truth is ageless….Fear God..”
“Only a fool will pay a blackmailer to com out nd say d truth..it’s risky to do that cos she will use it against u 2moro..dis is God at work”
It’s not even up to 1 hour in the Big Brother Naija House, and Biggie has done a fake eviction already!
Biggie earlier on called all the 20 housemates into the lounge, and then he suddenly informs them that there’d be an immediate eviction.
Housemates were shcocked immediately, as informed the Housemates that those who couldn’t find beds that corresponded with the numbers they received on stage must leave the House immediately.
The Housemates could hardly believe it, with gobsmacked looks upon their faces Leo, Ahneeka, Alex, Vandora, Tobi and Dee-one exit the House with very confused looks upon their faces.
In fact, many of the Housemates smelt a rat and said they knew something was up.
After the six Housemates “leave the House”, they enter the Arena Games room where they find beds, food and drinks laid out for their enjoyment.
The remaining Housemates continue their celebration but with a little more apprehension than before, after seeing how cut throat Biggie can be.
The BBNaija 2018 Reality TV Show, “Double Wahala”, has officially begun, and there’d be 20 housemates battling for the grand prize of N45 million!

Apart from being a foodie, Vandora likes talking to people, doing make up and watching TV. She says she was at her lowest when she failed her second year at university.
However that misfortune turned to be what she describes as her highest point in life when she finally graduated at an advertising school. Vandora’s family was shocked to find out about her going into the house but she knows they’ll support her.
What irritates you the most about other people: I’m usually very tolerant but sometimes you just don’t like people from the first time I see them.

From an early age, Dee-One has learned to laugh at everything and has developed this talent into an art. He also enjoys reading the Bible, poetry, dancing, rapping and singing. If he was a world leader, Dee-One says he would change the poverty mentality.

Princess Linda Onyejekwe enjoys cooking, designing clothes and partying on occasion. She recalls having not yet reached the highest point of her life and aspires for more. A geology graduate, Princess intends to use her time in the House to tap into her secret acting talents and let her “Alter Egos” take center stage.
What irritates you most in other people: Pretentious people.
What will you be bringing into the BB House: All shades of me. The fun, manipulative, reserved and agitated alter egos of me will have the opportunity to come out and play.
What will you do with the prize money: I’m looking at starting a lingerie line for plus-size women. I also own a beauty supply business that I will invest a lot of the money in.
PR Manager, 24 years old from Enugu State. Princess says she’s looking formore friends.
8. Miracle.
Newly graduated from the aviation school, Miracle flies into the House with his pilot license firmly in hand. He feels grateful for everything in life as he knows how financially difficult it was to get there. Miracle’s love of dancing and camping is only parallel by his sense of fashion, especially his skinny jeans. Miracles hates inequality and says he’s not in the game for the money.
What irritates you most in other people: People being fake, makes me not to trust them.
What will you be bringing into the BB House: I want to bring confusion amongst the ladies.

A horror movie buff, Khloe owns having no hidden talent and is only looking to bring drama to the house. At the core of herself, Khloe believes she is often misunderstood and hopes to use her time in the House for her true self to shine. What irritates you most in other people: Lies
What will you be bringing into the BB House: Drama
What will you do with the prize money: I want to start a foundation to empower street children. I also have like two movie scripts that I want to produce.

Below is her narration;
I Am still in Tears ??? and Don’t know how to Start Telling The Story of how I was assaulted yesterday Evening at about 5:30pm .. After I left the Disabled home where I went to Share Love and Hope, I drove straight from Ikotun which is almost 3 or 4 hours to the island where I Stay, on getting to the Lekki Toll gate (by oriental hotel) tired and exhausted, the next thing I noticed A Car has impacted with my Car., out of shock I didn’t know what to do, I sat down for almost 30 seconds thinking of how this driver could drive like that.
Before I could come out of my car the driver was already out, shouting saying I bashed his car , I was confused and surprised as well that a man that ran into Me could be shouting at me, trying to intimidate me and making me feel everything was my fault. I went round to the accident side to check the damage the impact made on my car, I saw my light was off and was on the floor and my bumper was pulled off., I looked at his, There was no evident damage to his car. I went mad with Rage, i said to him “Oga we have to wait here till the Police patrol comes to ascertain who was at fault” but the man said “ Get out of my way you Harlot”, he made to enter his car to flee the scene and I grabbed him, you bashed my car and you are calling me names and at the same time wanting to flee the scene.
I held firmly to his shirt since that was the only thing I could do as a woman at that time, but the man entered his Car, started the ignition and driving with me holding on to his shirt, his back tire even Climbed my Feet, thank God I was wearing a Boot that protected me from Getting hurt. And as he was driving away he was winding up his glass squeezing my hands to the door panel, I managed to pull of my hands. And I went thru the back Window to stop him and he started winding up again, squeezing my hands I was forced to pull off my hands from the Window before he cuts it , in the process the back glass broke and I feel to the floor. Before I could get up, the guy stopped his car ,ran to my own car and Took My bag, My phones I ran after him to collect my bag, this man held my hands and stabbed me Multiple Times with his Keys ?.

This case is now at the police station right now, and from the way the police people are sounding I’m not sure I’m gonna get justice for Assault meted on me.
After laying my Complaints They held my Car and said I can’t drive home with my Car and some of them telling me I was lucky that the man is not violent enough, if not I would have been killed and nothing will happen. Kemi Olunloyo has finally reacted to the widely-reported confession of Stephanie Otobo. Recall stephanie confessed at Apostle Suleman’s church, saying she was paid by some politicians to rubbish the respected man of God.
Kemi Olunloyo.
It should also be recalled that Kemi herself confessed two weeks ago after she was arrested and sent to prison for accusing pastor David Ibiyeomie, a pastor based in Port Harcourt, of adultery,
She has however said she should not be compared to Stephanie Otobo.
In her write-up on Instagram, she called Otobo’s confession lame.
Below is what she wrote:
“MY DEAR STEPHANIE
“Yes you confessed so well to setting #ApostleSuleiman up after rival pastors and politicians paid you. You give people like me a bad name. Stephanie, I posted the first page of an 8 page letter sent to me AS AN INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST to dig into alleged corruption in a church. I do not investigative adultery or alter writer’s own letter. That is why I refused to cover Oyakhilome and Suleiman.
“However that first page had the newsmaker’s names in it and I was promptly arrested as I was looking for witnesses and posted my number. I fought the system to prove my innocence by pleading that it was SENT TO ME.
“I do NOT collect money for news tips or do sponsored stories not verified. I was awaiting the newsmaker’s response to confirm or deny and never got the chance to file a story and they never returned my messages. I spent a total of 6 mos in prison!! You DID NOT go to prison when Apostle had you arrested. Did sponsors PAY? Your confession was lame! It had no character.
“On Sunday, I will attend Thanksgiving for David Ibiyeomie’s successful 5 nights of glory crusade. I will hand over the letter to him and finally FREE myself in a water baptism. Only God and possibly him know the writer who called themselves a “Salvation Ministries member.” I was not paid, the devil used me to try and investigate lies. All stories I did about Pastors were true. This person also called me the expert on pastor stories especially after Rev. King, Oyedepo girl slap, Adeboye students on cocaine and TB Joshua congregation death in Ghana and Nigeria.
“Politicians and even rival Pastors can’t pay me to tarnish names. Many say we touched the annointed and did them harm. You did more harm for allowing the devil to PAY u to slander, defame & libel a man about car gifts, a fake pregnancy and lies on promises he made u. The wife’s video told it all. Take what’s left of the money and donate it to Suleiman’s church to help his prison ministry if he has one.
“Empower our people suffering behind bars. That is what I stand for. God Bless you
A 12 year old sexually abused house help, fleeing home with his master’s two sons and intercepted in Mile 2 area of Lagos by officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command, has disclosed that her master, 36, raped her five times in less than seven month she stayed in his house.
The girl, whose name was given as Benita, a primary school leaver from Imo State, was intercepted at about 10:00 p.m. on Thursday at Mile 2, after alighting from a commercial bus from Olodi Apapa trying to board another bus to Maza Maza.
The Rapid Response Squad officers on sighting her with two children, age between 6 and 4 years invited her for questioning.
The girl disclosed to the officers that she was heading to Maza Maza to board a night bus to Imo State. Puzzled, the officers dug deeper. It was at this point she disclosed to the officers that her Uncle who brought her to Lagos to continue her education, while she assists his wife domestically had carnal knowledge of her five times.
The suspect, Chigozie Osuocha, of 83, Muibi Street, Olodi – Apapa, was lured to RRS Headquarter in Alausa, Ikeja through his telephone number provided by his 6 – year old boy.
Benita stated that any time her Uncle, Chidozie, want to lay with her, he would come home early, lock his three children out of his one room self-contained apartment and sleep with her.
She added that although she was not comfortable with living in his house, stressing that all the things his Uncle promised her parents before living the village and those that he promised her before sleeping with her are yet to be fulfilled.
She further revealed that she had to tell his Uncle’s 6 year old son who asked her what his father did to her each time he locked his three children out of the apartment.
‘I confessed to the boy what was happening. The boy told his mother. His wife confronted me and I confirmed all that her husband had done to me. She threatened to pack out. But they resolved it after he promised it wont happened again.
I have been staying with his three children at home while they go about their businesses. He has refused to enrol me in school since July, 2017’, she explained.
She added, ‘I equally reported all that Uncle did to me to his brother in Lagos. His brother had informed their father in the village about it’.
‘I took his two sons with me while I left the last child at home. They saw me packing my things out of the house, the children asked me where I was going and I told them I was returning to the village. They started crying they were going to follow me. I took them along with me after stealing the N60,000 he said I should give his wife’, she said.
‘We got down in Mile 2. I didn’t know those police officers were monitoring me. One of them crossed the express and asked me some questions about the children with me. At a point, I told him I was running away to the village because my Uncle was sleeping with me’, she stated.
When confronted with the allegation given by Benita, the suspect confessed that he was lured by the devil adding that he had slept with her only five times.
He explained that he sought the girl’s parent permission in the village to bring her to Lagos to continue her education while also assisting his wife with domestic chores.
He stated further that ‘I brought her to Lagos in July 2017. I started sleeping with her in December, 2017, I slept with her three times in December.
My wife got to know of my sleeping with her and she threatened to move out of the house with my three children. I begged her and we resolved the issue.
I came home yesterday and I gave her N60,000 to help me give my wife. It was this money she carried and she wanted to travel with to the village with along with my two boys’, he stated.
Commenting on the development, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti confirmed the incident stressing that the girl had beenv transferred immediately to the Family Support Unit of the Command.

The “Sade” crooner while speaking with PUNCH, disclosed that unlike most of his colleagues in the music industry, having a baby out of wedlock will be a disgrace to his family.
He said:
“I don’t want that (baby mama) for myself because It will be a disgrace to my family if I have a child born out of wedlock. I can only speak for myself. I was not brought up that way.
Why should such mistakes happen? There is a way you can protect yourself. I cannot have sex with a lady without using a condom. For me, it is just wise to do the right thing. I don’t want to find myself in any drama.”
He also revealed that inasmuch as he likes fun, he is a decent person, which has helped him stay out of scandals and added that he was always getting nudes pictures from ladies.
He said:
“I get nude pictures from ladies well and it is fun, I must confess. There was a time in my life that I tried to get attention from ladies, but it was hard. It is a different story now and I am enjoying every bit of it.
My girlfriend understands the nature of my job but sometimes, she asks questions. I like to keep my relationship away from the public. What if my girlfriend doesn’t want to be in the limelight? I think people like me because of my music, not because of what I do in my private moments.
I’m not under pressure to get married. I have an agreement with my parents. We agreed that I should focus on my music career first before venturing into marriage.”
Comedian Musa Afolabi, popularly known as Lasisi Elenu, has a following of over 337,000 on Instagram, where he posts the videos of his skits. He is an ardent user of the ‘wide mouth’ filter, an Instagram feature that he applies in all his skits. He tells JESUSEGUN ALAGBE how he started and the blessings he has derived through the social media
Your first Instagram skit was posted on August 11, 2017. How did you grow your following so quickly to 337,000 within five months?
There is no secret at all. I think it is just about doing what I love and enjoy. If you are consistent at doing something, people will notice you and eventually follow you. They will also refer others to your page if you are doing something wonderful. I never thought of coming online to be posting any skit. I was just doing comedy for fun, for my family and friends, who would laugh and compliment me. But afterwards, others discovered me and wanted to see more of my funny side. So, in August last year, I posted my first video skit on Instagram. I think I got just about 80 views on my first post. By the time I posted my second skit, it got about 110 views. I didn’t let the few views discourage me because I was not seeking fame in the first place. So, I just kept doing what I loved and enjoyed and that’s how the following grew. Today, I get thousands of views on my skits. So, I didn’t do any special thing to get followers on Instagram. I didn’t buy them and I didn’t also promote my account. It just grew because of my consistency and because there is a message in my skits.
Why do you use the ‘wide mouth’ filter for your skits?
I like the feature because it gives me a distinct look and voice in my videos, thereby making them to be unique. I had been using the feature on Snapchat but when I learnt about Instagram and that the feature was also available on it, I didn’t think twice before adopting it for my skits. And so far, the feedback from people has been good. People like the way I use the filter in my videos.
Where do you draw inspiration from while creating your skits?
Many ideas go on in my head and I write them down if I don’t have my phone with me. Some of those ideas are as a result of my frustration or tiredness. I always try to turn every experience, whether positive or negative, to an inspiration. And it doesn’t have to be a big experience. My inspiration sometimes comes from small experiences. For instance, I might be looking for fresh bread in the neighbourhood and if I don’t get what I’m looking for, I get tired and frustrated and from there, it could become the theme of the next skit I’m creating. I also listen to people when they share their experience. Through what I hear, it can also motivate me to create a skit. But overall, the desire to become better day after day is the major source of my inspiration. When I wake up, what I think about is how to make better impact on the lives of people through my skits.
So, would you say you have made impact on people’s lives through your skits?
Yes, I have and it’s in a great way that has given me joy. I have received tons of messages from Nigerians complimenting me regarding my skits. Some would say when they were in the hospital on the sickbed; it was my skits that made them not to give up on life. They would tell me my skits kept them happy and sustained them throughout their stay in the hospital. Some would tell me they were once frustrated but that my skits made them to have a rethink about life. Some would say that when they lost a friend or family member, my skits made them to smile and forget their sorrow. Others would say when they lost their job or relationship and they were down, my videos helped them to wade through those hard times. Sometimes when I read the messages, it pushes me to work harder towards putting smiles on more people’s faces. And I promise to do that. So, yes, I have made impact on people’s lives through my skits.
Have you ever been a victim of online bullying and how do you handle it?
Yes, who would say they have not been bullied online? The hustle has not been easy, but I don’t pay attention to the bullies. I pay attention to my work.
What are some of the weird requests you get from your fans, especially the female ones?
There is a lot of weirdness out there, but what I try to do is to turn the weirdness into sources of inspiration. I don’t let them put me off. Concerning my female fans, some of them usually tell me that I am cute and that they would like to have sex with me. Some who don’t request for sex would tell me that they just want to have a date with me.
Do you grant such requests?
Of course not; one should not lose focus because of those things or else, distraction will set in and success will become farther away. I don’t want to be carried away.
Has your social media presence opened doors for you?
Certainly yes! It has opened doors for me. Through my skits, I have been invited to perform at functions that ordinarily, I would never have been able to attend. I have had conversations with people that I wouldn’t have ordinarily met. I have also received gifts from people because of what I do. So yes, my social media presence has brought breakthrough for me and it is a testament to the fact that if you love what you do and you are consistent at it, someday, it would bring blessing.
Have you ever come across some of your online fans in real life?
Yes, many times. In fact, some minutes ago [Wednesday evening], I met some fans and they were kind of excited. Sometimes now, I get scared of going out because of the attention. But I guess this is something I have to learn to adapt to.
Have you ever had a reason to block anyone on your social media pages and for what reason?
None at all! Things don’t get to me easily. I think I have a thick skin, so it does not matter what people do to me, I don’t get easily pissed off. Some would say negative things about me, some even try to condemn what I do, but I have learnt to allow people air their views, whether negative or positive. What I do and what I would encourage anyone to do is to learn from the dirt people throw at you. If people piss you off and you start blocking them, that means you might block almost everyone in the long run. Meanwhile, you never know if your strongest critic or hater today will become your biggest fan or lover in the future. That’s why I simply overlook any naughty behaviour from some fans.
Before using the social media to post your skits, what were you using the platform for?
I was a writer and songwriter, so I used the platform to share my songs, but since I discovered the comedian in me, I have used the social media, especially Instagram and Snapchat, to post my skits. So, right now, what I basically use the social media for is to promote my comedy career.
Is comedy a talent you developed while growing up or has it always been in you right from childhood?
I was just a normal guy, I never thought of becoming a comedian, but I guess some people saw the comedian in me because they usually told me that I was funny. I never knew I was — until I started. Today, I have no regrets of who I am.
Which of your skits do you think put you in the limelight?
It was the one I made about people who live on Lagos Island — on how they are too afraid of small potholes on the roads. I ranted that you would see them driving their cars too delicately and swerving at the sight of every small pothole and almost causing accident in some instances. I told them in the skit to go to Lagos Mainland, where there are many big potholes on the roads. If they saw how motorists on the Mainland drove over large potholes, I told those on the Island that they wouldn’t be swerving anyhow at the sight of small potholes.
What is the feedback you get from your family and friends regarding your skits?
It’s been good. They love what I’m doing and they are proud of me.
There are many comedians on the social media right now? What makes you different from others?
Comedians’ messages always differ and I believe I have a unique message. Then, I also use the ‘wide mouth’ filter, which makes me have a different look from other comedians.
Do you get endorsements from brands because of your popularity on social media?
Yes, a couple of brands have reached out to me and I hope to get more.
What would you tell youths trying to follow in your footsteps?
It’s taxing to make skits, it’s not easy. But I enjoy what I do. Some people think it’s something that requires little effort to make. But what I have found out is that if you enjoy what you are doing, you wouldn’t mind the hard work that you have to put into it. Hence, what I will tell anyone trying to do skit is to love doing it because if you love it, you will enjoy it. If you don’t love it, you will quit too soon after making a few skits.
Who is your role model in the Nigerian comedy landscape?
This is a difficult question. I can’t really say I have role models in the industry, but of course, I have people that I admire. I am a fan of many comedians, especially those who have been around for over 10 years. I don’t want to start mentioning names here, but these are people that almost every Nigerian knows. These are people whose impacts on the industry have been huge.
Have you ever posted a skit that you regretted making afterwards?
I have never regretted posting a skit online and this is because I take my time to analyse and review whatever video I make before posting it. I don’t just make skits because they are fun; they must pass a message across to the people, so if it doesn’t contain any message, I won’t post it.
A woman shocked people close to her after she sowed a seed of faith with her husband car in her church, in Delta State.
According to multiple reports, some aggrieved Nigerians who are close to the woman’s husband, warned the pastor to return the car, else they’d attack the church premises and burn down any car they see in the church.
The pastor who called for peace – returned the car including the papers and everything associated with it back to the woman in the presence of other church members.
According to reports, the church members who were not happy with the woman due to how she handled the issue – warned her not to come to the church again.
A Nigerian Facebook User, Mazino Oyolo shared on Facebook, the definition of a primitive Nigerian… using “Davido” as an example.
He wrote:
A primitive Nigerian is one that makes money without a university degree and begin to claim education is scam.
He boastfully glorifies his ignorance all because he has made money.
He thinks people pursuing secular education are fools but doesnt know that he is a mockery of his own slow mindset.
He thinks money is all the ultimate and as long he has it, he is better than anyone else. Imprudently, he fails to realize he is a product of education.
He learns how to read and write through his primary education and also got some basic sense in secondary school.
He probably also has a WAEC result or maybe has F9 all through. No wonder his remarks about education is always derogatory.
He will cite examples of Davido and others who made it without education because his premonimal mind thinks higher institution is the education.
Because his intellectually unreceptive mind forgot that Davido and the others went to primary school and secondary to acquire basic education.
He believes as long he can buy good shirts, chains, wristwatches and cars, he has everything in life.
With his slow level of comprehension he doesn’t know that money cant buy him class.
Money can’t buy you class. Only those sound in mind will understand that. Education doesn’t gurantee success but it expose you to civilsation and affects your way of life.
