It was a night of exemplary artistry and entertainment, witnessed by a mammoth audience as Davido headlined what can easily be described as Africa’s biggest concert of the year; ’30 Billion Concert’ – bringing out some of the most celebrated and revered names of the industry; including Nigerian Starboy WizKid, Patoranking, Wande Coal, 2Face, Reminisce and several others on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at EKO Hotel Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The thousands of fans in attendance witnessed Davido bring out several acts to perform for the night, and just right before bringing out WizKid, the DMW boss bellowed; “Would you like to meet my new best friend?” to which everyone heartily yelled. Wizkid soon emerged from backstage and the two embraced.
Wizkid went on to perform one of his recent street jams ‘Manya’ alongside Davido raising the ecstasy in the atmosphere several notches higher. WizKid soon gave Davido a hearty shout out before exiting the stage.
It is clear that this occasion would mark the beginning of a long-lasting bromance between both stars.
Other notable artists who contributed to the excitement of the night include South African rapper Nasty C, Mo’ Hits stars – Don Jazzy, Dbanj, Dr Sid, Kay Switch, Ikechukwu, Wande Coal, D Prince, CDQ, Terry G, Humble Smith, Dremo, Mayorkun, Dice Ailes, Reekado Banks, Daddy Showkey, Solidstar, and several more.
The lights were flickering, the melody was magical, slow rhythmic movements on stage, the Christmas spirit was indeed present as Chidinma and kanya’s Sauti Sol sang their version of the Christmas Carol titled, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” The song ignited a warm, fuzzy, Christmassy feeling in the air and hearts of the audience.
You would agree that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and the reasons why are not farfetched. Christmas brings the end of the year break.
It reassures us of the beginning of the New Year where great opportunities abound. The mood, food, nostalgic weather, gifts, outings and of course the decorating all add up to why Christmas is a time to look forward to.
If you are lucky, you get to visit Santa Claus, who comes visiting all the way from the North Pole…LOL!
I’m sure you had a wonderful Christmas celebration this year and the New Year will be filled with bounties.
Enjoy the Christmas Carol by Chidinma and Sauti Sol.

2/ The President and his wife, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son. May God reward you all.
Well, TheCable reports that the President’s only son is being flown to Germany for specialist care…The family is said to have decided on Germany.
He was driven to the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport, Abuja, in an ambulance with oxygen support, sources in the know said.
He was then flown out in an air ambulance, secured by the family, under the care of a Nigerian doctor and three paramedics.
An orthopedic consultant with specialization in head injuries was also on the flight to monitor the his progress.
Flyboy I.N.C artist, Kiss Daniel, is out with another feel-good jam, “No Do”, to round up the year after a string of successful hits.
The song was produced by Philkeys and runs for a lean 2 minutes and 35 seconds – “No Do” is a very thoughtful and enjoyable track.
The music video for “No Do”, which was directed by Clarence Peters in his relentless colour scheme, is a perfect fit for the song.
It not only shows people who are simply living their lives — content with what they have — it also shows a man who hilariously ends up “doing pass [himself]” at a bukka.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has rejected reports of stolen luggage on taxiing aircraft at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
The Authority described such reports as “baseless and practically impossible”.
The FAAN was reacting to reports that Tiwa Savage and other passengers’ luggage aboard a chartered flight from Uyo to Lagos on Boxing Day was pilfered while the aircraft was still taxiing on the runaway.
The singer also called out the FAAN for the security breach, wondering how unauthorized persons could gain access to such sensitive areas of the airport without being spotted by security.
In a statement last night by its spokesperson, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, the Authority insisted that it was not possible for anyone to burgle an aircraft in motion.
“Furthermore, because aircraft are highly technical machines, it is practically impossible for anyone who does not have the requisite training and competence to operate or tamper with the baggage compartment”, she said.
Debunking insinuation that theft of luggage from the aircraft was becoming a frequent occurrence following previous reports that another private jet arriving from Istanbul, Turkey was burgled, FAAN insisted that in both that instance and the Boxing Day incident, preliminary findings from investigations conducted by an inter-agency committee set up to probe the allegations could not substantiate the claims.
“The purported victims in the said cases also did not make themselves available for questioning, in the quest to unravel the case”, the statement read.
While investigations were still ongoing, FAAN reassured travelers and the general public that with the level of safety and security systems on ground at the airports, “it is practically impossible for an aircraft to be burgled within our Runways and Aprons”.
In September this year, this beautiful couple went viral after he tattooed his wife’s face on his back to mark their wedding anniversary.
Now, he has been accused of strangling pregnant wife and pushing her down a flight of stairs.
Read the reports according to NY Post…
A pregnant mom was found dead Wednesday at the bottom of a basement staircase inside her Brooklyn home – and cops suspect her husband strangled her, police sources said.
Investigators are treating the death as a possible homicide, Deputy Chief Michael Kemper, Commanding Officer of Detective Borough Brooklyn North told reporters.
Tonie Wells, 22, was found dead with bruising to her neck following the 9:50 a.m. incident at the Crown Heights residence on Sterling Place after neighbors reportedly heard the cries of her two-year-old daughter and called the cops, according to cops..
Sources say cops are “actively looking for” Wells’ 29-year-old husband, Barry Wells, for questioning.
“Witnesses heard an argument and something falling down the stairs,” a high-ranking police source said.
Neighbor Michelle Ruiz, 22, who last saw the young mom three weeks ago, confirmed that Wells was pregnant and sources say police are aware of a social media post by Wells detailing that she was 8-months pregnant.
“They seemed like a nice family,” Ruiz said of the couple, whose Facebook pages are both filled with photos of each other.“I would see them together.
She was nice. He was always pleasant. This is a very quiet block, I didn’t hear anything today. I’m still in shock,” Ruiz said. “I would never think in amillion years something like this would happen.”Kemper said Wells’ death was deemed suspicious.
“Preliminarily, the deceased female has bruising on her neck and it appears as if she was either pushed or fell down the flight of stairs leading to the basement,” Kemper said.
The Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of the death.
Cops have previously responded to a report of one other domestic incident at the home, authorities said.

This is the first time the Mo’Hits crew is reuniting since their split five years ago. According to Davido, it took him two whole months of effort to bring this moment into fruition.

Kenyan pastor Bishop, Allan Kiuna of the Jubilee Christian Church in Nairobi, has defended his lavish lifestyle following criticisms on social media.
Bishop Kiuna’s church has 15 Kenyan branches and five international churches.
According to The Star, the Bishop has been posting series of photos of his family’s Christmas vacation in Australia. He travels with his wife, the Rev Kathy Kiuna, their three children, Vanessa, Stephanie and Jeremy, two grandchildren and their Australian and South African sons-in-law.
The family lives in posh Runda, their stable of cars include a Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz. They wear designer clothes, watches and accessories. They always fly first class.
Following the backlash on social media over his flamboyant lifestyle, The Star contacted the man of God about his lifestyle, church collections and how he handles criticism. He graciously replied in an email interview, from Australia.
Q: On your 50th birthday last December, social media was abuzz with news that your congregants planned to gift you, their “Dad”, a private jet. Do you have it yet.
A: Yes and No. No because it is not yet at hand. Yes because they are speaking and declaring what I am believing God for and I am confident it shall come to pass. When God is ready to do something in your life, even your enemies announce it in advance.”
Q: Why do you need a jet?
A: The church is expanding. My calendar and itinerary won’t allow me to meet the demands of missionary work. This calls for efficient travel and it’s too tedious to fly commercial from one continent to another.
Q: Why this vacation?
A: Pastors are life-givers…Men of God go through a lot. All this drains your spiritual, mental and social welfare. You can’t give, give, give without recharging….one can suffer burn-out. Just as Jesus often withdrew to recharge, we are recharging and being with our family. We are having a lot of fun, not because of the place, but because we are together as a family. This fulfills us.
Q: Does criticism bother you?
A: As long as I remain true to my God and my calling, what people say is not important. I won’t let another person’s opinion distract me from focusing on the grander vision God entrusted to me. No one throws stones at a mango-less tree. Sometimes ignoring and moving on is the best remedy. You don’t respond to a mosquito bite with a hammer.
Q: Jesus lived a humble life and Christians are supposed to be Christ-like. Are you living a Christ-like life?
A: Only the word of God can demystify misconceptions. I state categorically Jesus was never poor. Tell me of any poor man who has an accountant. Judas Iscariot was the accountant and used to steal. When you steal from a poor man, what can he be left with? You know the answer.
Q: Are you living a humble life?
A: Humility has nothing to do with poverty or riches. It is not a function of material standing, it’s about the state of one’s heart and mind. There are very wealthy people who are very humble … There are very poor people who are very arrogant … The bottom line is that being Christ-like has nothing to do with material status but one’s relationship with Christ and living a life patterned after Him.
He has taken me from one level of glory to another. Those who know me can attest to the fact I am a generous giver, always willing to reach out and help the less privileged. I have paid school and college fees for children I have never met and hospital bills for people I don’t know. This is being Christ-like.
Q: Do you announce how much you collect every Sunday, as old-school churches do?
A: Every institution has its own modus operandi. I totally admire and respect those doing that. Though we do not publicly announce our collections, we have our own mechanisms to achieve the same. Our accounts are open to scrutiny. Any church member can walk into the accounts office and ask for the records of their giving. They will be given instantly. Internal and external auditors regularly audit our books.

Nollywood actress Olayode Juliana who is famed for her role in Funke Akindele’s Jenifa Diary series as ‘Toyo Baby’ has in a recent chat with The Nation reiterated her belief against sex before marriage.
According to the screen star, she believes sex before marriage will eventually lead to infidelity when the partners eventually become married, because they start comparing their partner’s sexual prowess with that of the people they had sex with previously, before marriage.
When asked if she believes that sex before marriage makes relationships more complicated, Juliana responded:
“Yes I do. Sex before marriage makes relationship more complicated. Some ladies date more than five men before marriage and sleep with all of them because they see it as a norm or a way to prove their love against God’s standard. I personally believe that there is a lot to sex than the pleasure it gives. It makes you become one with the person. It ties you with the person, such that when you marry you compare your previous sexual life with your present and the memories of how you did it with the other person won’t leave you, expecting more from your husband or wife, forgetting that we are all not the same and our sexual lives can’t be the same as well.
“That’s what leads to cheating in marriage. Some men or women can’t imagine been faithful to just one person because they’ve done it with several people in their past or before marriage so it’s difficult. Research has it and I learnt that if you had sex with a particular person if you meet the person years after and you’re alone or whatever, it is very possible that you will do it again.”
On being a really strong advocate on ‘no sex before marriage, she said:
“Sex is good, don’t get me wrong, I mean God created it and everything He made is good and beautiful but sex before marriage is what makes it bad and wrong and sex with anyone else apart from your husband or wife in marriage is bad as well.”

Weah is set to replace Africa’s first female head of state, economist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and see the West African nation, founded by freed American slaves, hand over power from one democratically elected government to another.
One Torkwase Queen Awuna has died on December 24, after she was allegedly brutally beaten by her husband Lorember Ade, a police officer in the Operation Department of Benue State Police Command in Makurdi, Benue State.
According to Boldness Deterhama, who is her brother, he said after the beating, she was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi but later taken to Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi, where she finally died on Christmas Eve, December, 24.
The deceased had been a victim of domestic abuse since her marriage to Ade. She suffered a miscarriage after one of his numerous assaults. Shortly after the incident, she took in again and delivered a set of twins but one died shortly after few hours later due to beatings she received all through the pregnancy.
Meanwhile, in 2015, police officers locked up the deceased, with her then five month-old-baby into jail, after she fought with her husband’s lover Jennifer Usu.
It was gathered that Torkwase was in the room with her husband when Jennifer, who also had a baby by the police officer, came into the house to see him. A fight ensued between the two women during which Jennifer brought out a razor blade to cut Torkwase, but she managed to snatch the weapon from her and slashed Jennifer’s face with it. Jennifer was rushed to a hospital by Torkwase’s policeman husband.
After the treatment, she reported the case to B Division police station and Torkwase was subsequently arrested.
Deterhama is calling on concerned authorities to ensure that justice is done for his sister, otherwise the family will take law into their hands.
Read the full report below:
The Murder of Torkwase Queen Awuna by her husband Iorember Ade: Justice is all I am asking for.
Before it is too late, I would like to call on the concerned authorities to ensure the timely arrest of Mr. Iorember Ade, a police officer in Operation Department at the Police Head Quarters in Makurdi, Benue State Capital, for terminating Torkwase’s life like an ordinary animal in the bush. The arrest should be made quickly before the perceived clash between the two families and their communities begins. Iorember Ade, who came willingly and asked of her heads in marriage, did so with the aim of sending her to her early grave now. As I write now, tension is rising in Ajio, Ishagev-Ya, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue Sate, where the family of the late Torkwase and that of her murderer, are residing.
Before I continue, one should not think that I am taking side here because my sister is involved. I am ready to challenge and fight anyone that would like to oppose me on this issue with proofs; the officer in question and his family with anybody that thinks I am not being truthful on this issue should come out and challenge me with proofs.
Before the latest beating that sent my sister, Torkwase to her early grave, there have been several others upon her by the same man called Iorember Ade, her husband. One of such beatings led to her miscarriage. After that, she took in again for the same man and delivered a set of twins but one died shortly after few hours. Therefore, after noticing the ill-treatments upon my sister by this officer, we, the members of her family, did everything possible to make her discontinue with the marriage where she was always receiving beatings as her food but all our efforts proved abortive and we have to let her be to avoid being accused of sabotaging her marriage.
Nevertheless, the brutality that led to the current incident occurred on November 8, 2017. According to what she told me concerning the incident before she died, she went and brought food from her parents’ house, and when the food got finished, her husband refused to buy more food for them in the house. According to her, she was worried about her kids after being slept with hunger for good four days. Thereafter, on November 8, 2017, the husband wanted to go to work and she told him about the food issue in the house but he ignored her as usual. After that she asked the husband to explain why he don’t like providing food for them in the house but always eat together with them the one she brings from her parents’ house? Thereafter, the husband got angry and replied her with punches. She was beating mercilessly by him to a point that she became weak and unfit to walk. Quickly, she was rushed to the Police Clinic at Police Head Quarters in Makurdi. She explained all this in the presence of her husband when her mother, Mercy Awuna, visited her at the Police Clinic in Makurdi. It will shock you to know that at the Police Clinic, the husband was not even having money to pay for her treatment. If not for the efforts made by her parents, she wouldn’t have even gotten the first aid treatment at the Police Clinic.
At the Police Clinic, the situation became more complicated and she was moved to the Federal Medical Centre within the same Makurdi Metropolis. From the Federal Medical Centre Makurdi, the husband came and took her out in the absent of her mother, who went back home to prepare food for her. Where was she taking to? To a native doctor for treatment.
Notwithstanding, at the native doctor’s place, the doctor detected and confirmed some dislocations in her body within the areas where she was given several punches by her husband but the conditions given before the treatment were not met and the husband abandoned her there for a week before he finally moved her to Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi because of the pressure mounted on him by the family of the late Torkwase.
Similarly, sometime in 2015, a woman, Torkwase’s husband was having extra marital affairs with, came looking for him at his rented apartment where he was staying with Torkwase. According to the information I have gathered with proofs, the husband’s lover wanted to force herself into their room after telling her that her husband was not around and that was when a fight broke out between the two of them. Torkwase was able to overcome her husband’s lover thereby giving her a beating of her life. The husband’s lover finally went to B Division Police Station in Makurdi and reported her. The police came and arrested the late Torkwase alongside her five months old baby. Thereafter, I went to the police station to bail her from the police but police refused to grant her bail. The whole thing was happening in the presence of the husband who was only watching without doing anything. She was finally dumped into the police cell where she spent a night with her five months’ old baby. I did a story on that very incident and it was published in Sunday Sun Newspaper. The publication of that story caught the attention of some high ranking officers in the police force before her release was made possible.
I remembered telling her to report her husband to the bosses at his office for always abusing her and she did but disciplinary action has never been taken against him. Two weeks before her death, her father Mr. Daniel Awuna, went to the Police Head Quarters in Makurdi to report her husband officially, but he was mocked by the officers he met thereby deceiving him that the people he supposed to report to them were not around but forgetting that the same people my father wanted to see were seen within the vicinity at the time my father was asking after them. To make a long story short, something should be done now or else, retaliation is the available option.

The beautiful singer was heading to Uyo where she was penciled down as one of the artistes to perform at the inaugural edition of the Akwa Ibom Christmas groove tagged “Ukap’isua”, which began yesterday, December 26.
Narrating how her luggage was stolen on her Instastory, the Mavin and Roc Nation star said, while their plane was still on the runway after landing in Uyo, the pilot observed that the cargo hold light came on only for them to discover after investigation, that some luggage had gone missing.
Shocked that someone could “just walk”on to the runway and steal luggage from a plane, Tiwa Savage faulted security arrangements at the nation’s airports just as she called out the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, for jeopardizing the lives and security of air passengers.
