A lady identified as Amarachi Azubuike, has giving gory details of her experience in their hands of an armed robber in Lagos while she was returning from school in December, 2017.
Sharing her experience , Amarachi said:
“I was on my way back from school as at 21st December, at oshodi express way.
“The hold up was much then I decided to enter a motorcycle not knowing the motorcycle I entered was an arm robber, we negotiated how much I would give to him and he agreed.
“Getting to a particularly spot, he told I should get down that it seem his motorcycle was faulty, me now poor girl, I just did as he said, I stood waiting for him to work on his motorcycle at the lonely road because it was already late.
“The next I saw was a gun pointed at my face telling me to bring my money, phone and my chain or he r*pes me. Immediately with fear I did, not just that, he had to punch me twice heavily on my eyes and nose.
“I fainted. My nostril was bleeding as well. I managed to open my eyes only for me to see myself on a motorcycle with a Good Samaritan that helped me to the clinic close by. I thank God for my life I wasn’t blind.”
An Abuja based lawyer, identified as Onyemobi Chucks has been accused of raping a 17-year-old girl identified as Esther Monday after allegedly tying her down and assaulting her.
A reporter with Independent Nigeria, Nicholas Uwerunonye, wrote;
I bring before you a matter concerning Esther Monday, 17, allegedly assaulted, gagged, tied down and raped by a certain Onyemobi Ochiagha Chucks, a lawyer based in Abuja. I was at the Gwarimpa Police Station where I monitored the proceedings for more than six hours.
According to Monday, she began working for Chucks barely a week ago after she replaced a relative of hers at his house when she had to go back to Kafanchan, Kaduna State. Monday is one of thousands of young vulnerable girls who come to urban areas in search of menial jobs. Chucks had specifically requested Monday’s Guardian to provide an alternative for the relative who wanted to take a break.
Chucks initially engaged Monday to clean his house and water the garden in his home in Gwarimpa. But on Thursday, the lawyer curiously asked her to move to his office, also, in Gwarimpa to help in cleaning and office work. Unsuspecting, the poor girl went along. After working and cleaning the place, Chucks allegedly began making overtures to her; complementing her on her beauty…
As she further narrated, her boss suddenly stood up, went to the door, bolted it; headed to the windows and sealed them. Monday was too petrified to act initially. Then the lawyer pounced on her, tied her up, gagged and blindfolded her. Chucks, according to her, went ahead to strip her Unclad. He forcefully had canal knowledge of her, she alleged. It was Monday’s first sexual encounter, she claimed at the police station. Rather than release the girl, the lawyer still kept her detained.
He further seized her phone from her, extracted the sim card. After some hours, he ordered the girl to go back to his house warning her not to say a word. To ensure compliance, he took the girl to the road and put her in a commercial tricycle giving direction to the driver to take the girl to his own house. It was at this point the girl took the initiatives that have probably saved her life.
Explaining in Hausa, she narrated her ordeal to the driver and begged him to give her his phone because hers had had its sim card removed by the lawyer. The driver obliged her.
With the phone, she called her guardian who rushed over to the lawyers house to rescue her.
I got all this details from the girl and her guardians at the police station. I got to the police at about 5.pm and began further enquiry. At face value, the police appeared to have been professional. After listening to her , they took the girl to a hospital for medical confirmation of her claim. They summoned the lawyer who delayed coming to the station. I called his number, too, but he simply said he doesn’t know me and wouldn’t speak to me. At about 8 pm the lawyer came to the police station.
After making initial conversation with the DPO, the girl and the lawyer were again taken to the hospital. Some hours later, they returned. I gathered that the lawyer refused to submit himself for test. But I was reliably informed that the doctors said he could perceive the smell of sperm in her Vagina. Curiously, I noticed that some police officers began to be apprehensive at my presence at the station, one of them, a tall dark complexioned youngman with drooping eyelids.
He summoned me after he saw that I had closely been watching his movements with the lawyer. He first attempted to throw the relatives of the girl out of the station but failed. Then he came over to me asking what I was doing at the station. After calmly showing him my ID, he then asked me how I got to know about the case. “Who told you that the man has been indicted, ” he asked.
After calmly explaining to him that I am at no liberty to disclose my source, I further went ahead to tell him that story writing for a good reporter doesn’t begin after indictment. He reluctantly gave it rest.
Colleagues, I am headed back to the station to speak with the DPO to get a clearer perspective on the matter. While not indicting the lawyer of any crime, I believe that the man has some explaining to do, especially given the maneuvers I personally saw him pull. Chucks, the lawyer, is Igbo, like me, and so is the police officer who tried to intimidate me and the girl’s relative. Esther Monday is from Kafanchan and I do not know her. This is about justice and it knows no tribe. I am sending out this message because I understand how things are done in this country, no matter how we pretend otherwise.

All was going well, until Amara, wife to Ogbonna’s elder brother, Kanu dropped a “brutal comment”. Amara accused Ogbonna of taking advantage of his elder brother, and sabotaging her family.

It was double tragedy for a young man, Felix Ojirike who was brutally attacked by his neighbour as he lost his eye after the attack by one Chidera Eze who was accused of sleeping with Ojirike’s wife in Lagos.
The incident happened at Sanni Dauda Street in Ejigbo, Lagos where they resided.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that one of the Ojirike’s eyes was badly damaged, he cannot see with it as he was still lying critical ill at West Care Hospital in Ejigbo, Lagos.
It was gathered that trouble started after the neighbours informed Ojirike that Eze who was an Okada rider used to sleep with his wife whenever Ojirike went to work.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that after the neighbours had informed Ojirike that Eze usually left early for work but comes back after he had gone to his own work to stay with his wife, an embattled Ojirike then decided to find out if what their neighbours told him was true. He reportedly prepared and informed the wife that he had gone to work but later came back and met his wife on top of Eze’s bed.
P.M.EXPRESS learnt that it became an issue in the neighbourhood which led to exchange of bitter words that eventually resulted into a public fight between Ojirike and Eze in the compound.
During the fight, Eze reportedly took a sharp object and stabbed Ojirike’s eye. He was rushed to the hospital where he was being treated.
The incident was reported to the police at Ejigbo Division; Eze was arrested and detained at the police station.
When our correspondent visited Ojirike in the hospital, he confirmed the incident and narrated how he caught Eze with his wife.
However, Eze denied that he had sleeping with Ojirike’s wife and explained that it was their neighbours that caused the whole trouble between him and Ojirike by lying against him.
But he was unable to explain what Ojirike’s wife was doing in his room apartment when her husband was not around.
At the police station where Eze was detained, the police source confirmed the assault and detention of Eze and said he will soon be charged to court.

Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says President Buhari, has been depressed and crestfallen over all the killings that have been happening in some states.
Speaking in an interview with Channels TV on Friday January 19th, Adesina said those accusing President Buhari of not showing empathy to victims of the various crisis particularly in Benue state, do not know him.
Those who allege lack of empathy don’t know the president. We that work with him know him and we know how touched the president can be by things like that.

Apparently, the man Identified as Abogoh Luckyo on Facebook discovered that his months-old wife’s pregnancy isnt’t his, but for her ex-boyfriend.. and his wife has been communicating with the ex-boyfriend, professing her love for the man.
In one of the posts, she wrote; “I can’t believe that this is happening to me. This world is really a wicked place! While preaching recently, one of the pastors of Christ Embassy church founded by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, said he wished he could worship their founder, because he is worshipable.

40-year-old Nigerian returnee from Libya, Omo Harry, has narrated the bizzare and unfortunate things himself and other Nigerians faced while they were trapped in Libya on their way to Europe.
In an interview with Vanguard, Omo who recently returned to Nigeria, narrated how his friend, Denis’s girlfriend, Rita, whom they all embarked on the journey to Europe in April 2016, was raped to death because she could not afford the money needed for her to continue her journey from Libya to Euope.
Omo said Rita was handcuffed and boys took turns to rape her. She died when one of the boys tried to penertate her. Her corpse was abandoned for two days before it was removed. Her boyfriend watched the men take their turns to have sex with her.
My friend, Denis, said I could travel to Europe if I could raise at least N500,000. He told me that he was also trying to raise same amount for an agent that would facilitate it. I had to sell all my property , including the parcel of land I acquired at Ogudu Bale area of Ogun state. But I could only raise N350,000 at the end. Denis was able to raise N300,000 while his girlfriend, Rita, had N250,000. The agent said he would complete the money but that we would pay him the balance when we got to Libya. When asked how, he said he would introduce us to someone , who would get us a job and that after paying his balance, we would proceed to Europe.
We bought gala, garri and bread and also bought two bags of sachet water as advised by the agent and left Lagos for Kano. On arriving the border between Kano and Niger, the agent told us to bring N7000 out of the money with us. As we approached the border, a Customs officer came, collected the money from us and asked us to wait until he gave the directive for us to cross thorough a bush path.
Finally, we arrived Qatrun, the first state in Libya . We were taken to a connection house . In that connection house were tranke which are camps where migrants who do not have the needed amount to continue the journey are kept. On the first day at the tranke, we were welcomed with good food. But at night, they began a roll call and separated those who had completed payment from those who hadn’t . Of course, myself, Denis and Rita were in the disadvantaged group. At this point, the agent was nowhere to be found. In fact we were all confused as to what to do next . At this connection house, the head is called Capon. We also had OC Torture . The Capo collects relatives number and demand money for captives to continue their journey. It was at that point that I got to know that Rita did not tell her parents she was traveling. When she was given the phone to speak with her mother, we overheard her crying. Rita’s parents sent N150,000, which covered three of us. We thought we were free, not knowing that the horror had only just begun.” Sabha connection house.
Speaking further, he said
From Qatrun, we were moved to Sahba , in Western Libya, where the main tranke called Ali ghetto is located. It is close to the University of Sahba . It was a place of no return . From there , you are expected to pay another sum to cross to another connection house in Inias, from where you will embark on the sea trip to Europe. When they demanded for more money, Rita said she would like to go back home. But they insisted that she must pay before going back. Immediately we got there, they collected our international passports and tore them. They said they don’t allow people to embark on the sea trip with anything except the clothes on them. In my excitement, I called my people in Lagos and they sent N150,000. Unfortunately, it could only take me , as Denis and Rita did not have money to cross the second huddle. Instead of leaving them behind, I kept my money and decided to wait until their relations could send money to them.”
Rita’s parents called to say that they had no money. Immediately the call was received, Rita was chained to an iron rod where White Libyans came and took turn to rape her. This continued for two weeks without food . In one of the instances, Denis stood up to challenge one of the men but he had his ear chopped off with a hot iron rod that was plugged to a socket.. On the day she died, five boys first came , had their turns with her and left. At that point, she could only stare into space. Ten minutes later, another set of young men came to have their turn. It was when the third person was on her that she was discovered to be motionless. Her body was there for two days before it was removed”
Omo also narrated how Libyan men would come to where the illegal migrants are kept, pay some money to take any strong black man they see who would have sex with them. The black men would after sexually satisfying them, will then be brought back in the morning. A mother was left horrified after finding sexualised messages between her 10-year-old daughter and a classmate.
The woman, who cannot be named to protect her daughter’s identity, found the messages on her little girl’s phone after she told her in tears that a 10-year-old boy in her class was demanding explicit photographs and asking to get “more sexual”. The girl ran to her in tears to report what has been going on and the girl’s phone rang at that same time. It was the boy calling.
She said: “He was calling her a ‘s**g’ and put the phone down, he didn’t realise it was me.”
After the call, the mother searched through her daughter’s phone and soon realised the children had been sexting via Instagram direct message.
She said: “Some of the stuff he was saying wasn’t anything you’d expect a 10-year-old to know. I knew about him but thought it was general chit-chat. She would say he was her boyfriend and stuff like that but never thought it was anything more.”
In the messages, the young boy sends an explicit image to the girl and goes on to ask her for one in return. The girl, who usually only uses her phone to keep in contact with friends and family and play games stalled
She wrote: “I can’t I’m in bed I show tomorrow.”
He replied: “No now otherwise I will dump you just turn your phone light on.”
The little girl then succumbed and sent the indecent image. During their chats, they both conversed like adults and used adult language.
At one point, the girl replied to one of his requests with, “When we get older then yes but since we’re only kids I’m not quite sure.”
The girl’s mother said: “She didn’t really know much better. It’s like she just wanted to please and not offend him or be nasty. She’s embarrassed and worried her friends might have found out.”
She said as a result of the messages, she has had to sit her little girl down and have a more mature conversation with her about sex and adult behaviour.
She said: “I understand they get sex education taught in schools but she only knows about the basics, nothing like this so we have had to have a sit down to explain things to her. Everyone needs to be aware that this happens. It’s awful and scary and you wouldn’t expect it.”
The girl is yet to return to primary school following the events of last week, but her mother, who has been disgusted by the discovery, is worried about it happening again.
She said: “When they get to this age, they go on residential trips and I’m very worried. I’ve spoken with her police but haven’t had any contact with the other parents.’”
Detective Inspector Craig Nicholson, of Humberside Police’s Protecting Vulnerable Children Unit, said they have spoken to the families involved in the case.

One person died on the spot while three others are recuperating in hospital after a vehicle they were travelling in rammed a culvert before rolling several times.
The accident occurred at Shikuyu near Goldmine petrol station along the Sigalagala–Butere highway in Ikolomani sub-county.
A witnesses claimed the driver of the seven-seater matatu lost control of the vehicle.
“The matatu rammed into the culvert and rolled three times. A woman who was at the co-driver’s seat died instantly while the driver was unconscious. We rushed to the scene and rescued them from the wreckage,” said Iholi village elder, Jacob Ilolo.
Iloli claimed that the driver was drunk. Caroline Musanga, another witness said she was breastfeeding her baby when the matatu rammed the culvert.
“I heard a loud bang and when I came out of the house to see what was happening, I saw the matatu flying in the air before landing in my compound. I thank God the kids were not outside as they would have been injured,” she said.
Moses Makhanu, a survivor claimed that the driver was caressing the woman in the passenger seat next to him.
Makhanu claimed that the driver almost lost control of the matatu at Sigalagala National Polytechnic when he tried to forcibly kiss the woman, but managed to steady the car.
He said they cautioned him against reckless driving, but the driver insulted them and even threatened to throw them out of the vehicle.
“The driver appeared drunk. You could hear him telling the lady how he loves her and wanted to marry her. When the vehicle got to the accident scene, he attempted to kiss the woman by force,” he claimed.
Western traffic police boss Geoffrey Njogu confirmed the accident saying the deceased was taken to Kakamega County Referral Hospital awaiting postmortem.
“Another passenger’s left leg was fractured and the right hand dislocated. The third survivor had back pains at the time we took them to Kakamega County Referral Hospital for specialised treatment,” he said.

Yesterday, a story of a Ghanaian actor’s plight went viral, after he said many ladies have rejected him, over the size of his manhood.
Apparently, it seems luck is about to shine on Don Little, as a Nigerian Lady has offered herself a “living” sacrifice, but on one condition of course.
Identified as Zinny Happiness, she wrote on Facebook that she’d accept to be Don Little’s wife if and if only he can provide 100 billion!

We have received reports of a hazard that occurred in a classroom at the Osun State University, Osogbo campus, where no fewer than 12 students slumped.
According to multiple reports, a fire extinguisher exploded in a class that had 200 students present, and as a result there was a leakage of a poisonous substance.
Some students of the university, who pleaded anonymity told Punch that some 300-level students were receiving lecture when the leakage occurred.
Some of the students said the gas leaked from one of the laboratories while others said they did not know the source of the chemical.
But they said that no fewer than 12 students slumped as a result of the leaked chemical and the affected students were rushed to some hospitals outside the campus for treatment.
The student said, “Some 300 level students were receiving a lecture in Anatomy Department this afternoon when the incident happened. The lecture room was overcrowded and some of the students had to squat while one of them sat on an industrial fire extinguisher inside the room.”
“I think the student sat on it for about one hour or thereabout and, unknown to him, his weight had exacted pressure on the extinguisher, causing the container to release a heavy concentration of carbon dioxide inside the already stuffy lecture room.”
“The students inhaled the leaked carbon dioxide and some of them collapsed and were taken to hospitals outside the campus when the situation was becoming very serious. Some of them were taken to Our Lady of Fatima Hospital at Jaleyemi area.”
“Some of the students were placed on oxygen but their conditions were stable. One of the affected students, Basirat, has nobody here in Nigeria. Her parents are in Côte d’Ivoire and we have been praying that nothing bad should happen to any of them.”
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Labo Popoola, when contacted, confirmed the incident.
He said, “Some students of our College of Health Sciences, Osogbo campus, sat on a cylinder of a fire extinguisher around a classroom. They tampered with the nozzle of the cylinder, which later exploded.”
“In the stampede that occurred while the students numbering about 200 were escaping to safety, some were injured, while about 20 of them who inhaled the poisonous gas were evacuated to our health centre and other hospitals by our staff.”
“They were revived, and are all in stable condition. No casualty was recorded”
