She actually reported to the police station the night she was beaten, where she was rushed to the hospital from. Scan showed broken limbs and blunt injuries especially her kidney. Like how do you beat your wife and damage her kidney. How????!!
While reacting, a user, Kay wrote ;
This is so sad but the truth is, you can only help someone who wants to be helped. You can only save someone who wants to be saved. The society we’ve found ourselves has made alot of women to sit still and endure abuse so that they won’t be tagged as “marital failures”. ☹️

The mother and daughter were spotted walking off the beach on Saturday before grabbing dinner at a trendy Miami steakhouse as the ladies made a rare appearance in swimsuits, with Michelle showing off her toned torso in a bikini top and Malia in a sweatshirt and black bikini bottoms
The former first lady also sported a long white blouse, a bandanna and large fold hoop earrings for the outing.
Malia was looking similarly casual alongside her mother in a tan hoodie over her swimsuit, of which just her black bikini bottoms were visible.
>The tall teen toted in her hands a pair of white sneakers and her iPhone with a charger.
She also was carrying a hefty-looking book – perhaps a bit of holiday break homework from Harvard University, where Malia is due to return later this month.
The ladies looked as though they didn’t have a care in the world, appearing as though the post-White House life suits them just fine.
The day at the beach appeared to be all about girl time as former president Barack Obama was nowhere to be seen.
Umarudeen Kayode a member of Singer Davido’s crew, engaged in a fight with Airport officials at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport on January 11th after an argument over verification of luggage went south.
Kayode aka Tyconne allegedly punched a Checkpoint staff on the face and this of course attracted other security officials – who then attempted to arrest him.
He reportedly resisted arrest and pummeled another airport security staff, injuring an Assistant Customs Comptroller in the process.
On January 12th, Kayode was granted bail after he was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate court and charged for assault, breach of public peace and resisting arrest.
Well, digging deep into his details, here are two things learnt according to LIB;
1. He’s a former US Soldier. – which explains why he was able to beat up the airport officials (Single Handedly) who allegedly couldn’t subdue him easily.
2. He served in war torn Afghanistan for a full year after volunteering…This was between 2015 – 2016.

Reekado Banks’ manager and brother, Temi Solomon, insists that his artiste doesn’t feel sorry for saying he is a better artiste than Lil Kesh.
It will be recalled that when Reekado was adjudged the Next Rated Artiste at the 2015 Headies Awards, it generated mixed reactions. Olamide, who was Lil Kesh’s boss at the time, was furious that his protégé didn’t win the award.
Reekado banks
While reacting to Olamide’s public outburst, Don Jazzy (Reekado’s boss) said he was ready to let Olamide and his boy have the car prize if that was what made them upset. That comment degenerated into a war of words on the Internet before both parties were implored to sheathe their swords.
Two years after the ugly event, at his recent Thank You concert in Ibadan, Reekado declared in pidgin English that he is better than Lil Kesh and his father. He said, “I remember when they said I didn’t deserve the Next Rated award. The person that they said deserved the award, I am better than his father.”
Reekado banks
When Sunday Scoop reached out to Reekado’s manager and brother over the statement, he said his brother only said what was on his mind, but he didn’t mean to hurt anyone
He said, “It is not something I want to talk about. If certain people were annoyed because he spoke his mind, I think those people are not his fans. Our fans would not complain about what he said in that manner. He didn’t mean to hurt or harm anyone and we don’t have something against the artiste (Lil Kesh).”
Lil Kesh
According to Temi, Banks was not misinterpreted, neither was he under any influence when he said he is better than Lil Kesh. He said, “If he said he is better than someone, he probably meant it. I really want to know the fans who were angry about it. Was it Reekado’s fans or the person’s fans? He said what was on his mind and it is not compulsory for everyone to agree with him.
“People who feel that he is arrogant because he said what he wanted to say have their reasons to think so. If I say that one newspaper is better than another, it is my opinion. That he didn’t say a word since the 2015 Headies Awards’ fallout doesn’t mean he has not felt like talking. So, if he said he was better than Lil Kesh, it was just an expression.”
A 20-year-old man, Abdullateef Ibrahim, who was arrested by the Niger State Police Command for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl, has pleaded for forgiveness, saying he started raping children after his girlfriend left him.
The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, said on Sunday that the suspect was apprehended by operatives attached to Nasko police division, adding that he had been charged to court.
Abubakar explained that the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation, noting that the victim had been taken to the General Hospital, Magama, for treatment.
It was learnt that the victim was running an errand for her mother when Ibrahim dragged her to an isolated area in the bush and had sex with her.
Northern City News gathered that the suspect had been involved in the heinous act for over two years before he was eventually arrested by police operatives.
Ibrahim told our correspondent that he had forcefully had carnal knowledge of more than six underage girls in the community.
He said, “Since my girlfriend left, I have been in the act and I enjoyed doing it, but at times I will ask myself ‘why am I into this mess and the urge still continues?’ It is quite unfortunate that I found myself in this hopeless predicament.”
He begged for forgiveness and advised other youths to shun “the wicked act that may mar their future.”

Hajiya Aisha Wakil, known as Mama Boko Haram because of her closeness to the members of the sect, tells KAYODE IDOWU that the insurgents are tired of fighting.
What is the relationship between you and the Boko Haram members?
People started calling me Mama Boko Haram when insurgency was at its peak in Borno State and the insurgents were bulldozing Maiduguri, killing and maiming everybody in the process. It was during that period that I was invited to a women’s conference where the participants pleaded with the terrorists to stop the bombings. Somewhere along the line, I referred to them as my children, and my sons. I also asked them to see me as their mother. That was how people started calling me Mama Boko Haram.
My relationship with the group started before the insurgency. My husband is from Shehuri North in Maiduguri, which is very close to the house of Mohammed Yusuf (a. k. a Shekau), the founder of the Boko Haram sect. I also had an Islamic teacher who was also my spiritual father known as Baba Fugu. His daughter, Amina, a friend of mine, married Yusuf. So, I was very close to Yusuf because of my friend, Amina, his wife. Yusuf was a young man who was just preaching and encouraging Muslims and non-Muslims to be closer to Allah and live peacefully together.
You were initially not a Muslim and you are also from Enugu State. What can you say about your new found faith and love for the North?
Anybody can come to the northern part of Nigeria and make it his or her home. I got married to a northerner and I have three kids.
Some people allege that you do not have any link to the Shekau’s faction of the Boko Haram sect. What is your reaction?
If those people know the real Boko Haram, they should tell us who they are. Did they ask Shekau and he told them that he did not know me or that he had never heard about me? Or did they ask members of Shekau’s faction and they denied me? Shekau is a kind person, if he does not know me, he would have come out to say it. If he does not have a good relationship with someone, he will come out to deny the person publicly.
What can you say about the fractionalisation of the group now? How many fractions does Boko Haram have?
I really do not know. I know we have Habib’s faction. There is Mamman Nur’s faction. There is Shekau’s faction. There are other smaller groups like Bukar Mainok’s faction, among others.
Do you have a relationship with all these factions? Can you link someone up with them?
I will not answer that question for security reasons.
Do you really think that the Federal Government should hold dialogue with the sect and listen to their agitation?
What are they agitating for? Is it the continued killings or is it their mode of prayer that they want to force on everybody? Is it reasonable? Is there any compulsion in Islam? Do you force someone to be a Christian? Nobody can force anybody to accept any religion, principle or ideology. I don’t know what they are agitating for. If I know clearly, I would probably know what to say.
So what is your understanding of the group then?
My understanding of the group is that they are young people who claimed that they were provoked. They said nobody listened to them and that they had to transfer their anger and vent it on innocent people. That is the only thing I can say about them. They were angry. When I heard the rumour about their intention to revolt, I called Mohammed Yusuf. He told me that they were betrayed. Up till now, I do not know what the betrayal was all about. He said they were angry because somebody made them angry and they wanted an apology. They said the trouble started when security operatives shot their members because they did not wear crash helmets. As if that was not enough, they said some security personnel shot at them during the funeral procession of one of their members killed by police bullets.
How exactly are you mediating between the sect and the government?
I am still appealing to them, telling them to embrace dialogue because there is no way they can stay inside the bush and expect anybody to listen to their request. It is when they come out of the bush and sit face to face with the government that we can iron out the contentious issues.
You were once declared wanted by the Department of State Services. Why and how was it resolved?
They said I knew where Shekau was and that they wanted to get the Chibok girls out and resolve the whole issue and that I was not releasing the information at my disposal. I was not arrested; I went on my own to meet them. They heard me, I told them that I was not hiding and that I wasn’t hoarding information in my quest for peace. I also told them that even when I went to the bush to meet with those guys and someone asked me about the trip, I always revealed the details of our interaction. But if you ask me where they were, I will not tell you that; I will tell you I do not know. Actually, I do not know because they usually take me there in a blindfold inside a car with strict instructions that I should bow down my head throughout the trip.
How?
They would deliberately drive round for hours until they are sure that I have become drowsy and possibly slept off. How do you expect me to know where they had taken me? It is also the same process when they are bringing me back. As a matter of fact, what is the purpose of telling the DSS where they are? Can’t they go and look for them? Sometimes, when I go to them in the bush, I spend about three days, and at times, a week. It is a pathetic situation. You see them sometimes shedding tears, anxious to be reunited with the society. They usually confess that they are tired of the life they are living. Anybody who knows my history will know that the boys, when things were still good, were staying in my house. In those days, if you came to my house, the gate was always opened to everybody. I never discriminated against anyone. We were living together, and even whenever I was going somewhere around in Shehuri North then, they would carry my handbag and call me mummy and asked what I had for them.
They would tell me what they wanted to eat and I would give them money to go to the market. We would prepare the food and eat. They were like kids to me. Some of them, I did their circumcision when they were boys of just seven years old. So they grew up seeing me as a mother.
How come you were doing circumcision?
It is not that I was the one cutting their foreskin. They used to bring the person doing the circumcision but I would carry the children while the pain lasted. And when they removed the foreskin, we would slaughter a chicken for the boy in order to calm him down. I assisted in the healing process too.
What was the relationship between you, Ahmad Salkida and the third person declared wanted with you?
Salkida was a friend to Mohammed Yusuf. Though I never knew him, I heard from Mohammed Yusuf that he had a journalist friend and that, one day, he would introduce me to him. I was then looking forward to the day that the meeting would take place. He (Salkida) used to follow him around. They were really close.
I have never met with Salkida but shortly before they declared us wanted, I spoke to him on the telephone. I drew his attention to what was happening to his friend’s group made up of young men who I refer to as my children and I asked him how we could resolve the problem.
He expressed his dissatisfaction with how the whole thing was handled by the security personnel. I told him that we cannot just give up like that. I then advised that we do something. That was all. We did not speak again until we were declared wanted and we met at the DSS headquarters. I also visited him when he returned from Dubai. That was the first day we actually had an opportunity to discuss. Bolori, who was also declared wanted, is a poor Kanuri boy. I engaged him to help me interpret whatever people say in Kanuri language. I used to take him along whenever I want to talk to the Boko Haram boys. That was the relationship between us. When we went to meet the Chief of Staff (to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari), I went with him and that was it.
Do you think that a peaceful resolution of the Boko Haram war is still feasible?
I believe in God and I pray a lot. I believe in prayers. If we pray, these kids are not more powerful than God. I do encourage people to also pray about it. There is one adage in Igbo that says if you drag a stick and the stick drags you, you leave the stick and run for your life. They (Federal Government) keep telling me that they have dragged the stick (Boko Haram insurgents) and that the stick has dragged them and it is now for them to leave the stick. But I keep telling them that this is not a stick but human beings and we have to continue to drag them. These are Nigerians, our children, our brothers and sons. We cannot just leave them like that, because leaving them like that would create more problems. I believe it (the insurgency) will end; they (the insurgents) wanted it to end. Anytime I talk to them, they always ask me when the war would end and would also seek to know how it would end.
Are you advocating an end to this military solution?
The shootings and killings have never solved any problem. Very soon, it will be 10 years since the war started. Scores of soldiers have died in the process. I had to involve myself in the peace process when I saw people coming from all over the country and even white men to fight war. Some say only a fierce battle could end the war but I am of the opinion that we should not continue because of our kids.
They planned to bomb St. Augustine’s Church on December 24 last year. One of them called me on that day to find out whether I had travelled. There was a pickup van loaded with explosives in front of the church. I told the caller that I had not travelled and I immediately rushed out and saw the boy that was to carry out the suicide mission. They had already prepared him for the exercise. He had already been given the injection and prepared him for burial. The boy was just moving and murmuring. I quickly called the (Boko Haram) boys and told them that I can see a vehicle parked and that a boy was moving towards it. They told me that the boy was the suicide bomber. They asked why I did not travel again and I told them that my brother, a reverend father, visited Maiduguri and that we would be travelling together after Christmas.
I instantly told him that I was right inside the church (targeted for bombing) with my brother because I brought food for him. I told them that I was not ready to leave the church, daring them to do their worse. They were then confused and asked what I wanted to become of the boy they had prepared for the suicide mission, and I asked them to send the boy away to the nearby bush; after all, he had taken the oath to die, so he should go and die alone. They asked me to leave the church premises but I told them that I wouldn’t go until they had diverted the boy away. After some time, they told me the boy had left and one of them said, ‘I can see your car driving out’ but I didn’t go with my car. This is to show how God works. God planned this. I do not know where a black car came out from that made them to believe I was around the place. So they drove the pickup van away. When I did a follow-up, I learnt that the boy had died because he had taken an oath and they had given him an injection preparing him for death. If you take the injection, you can never be yourself again. I then warned them that on no account should they target places of worship for bombing again.
Do you agree that the Boko Haram has been technically defeated?
They do not have that energy anymore. If you look very well, that energy is no longer there. They are gasping for breath and looking for a way out. They are always asking for the road. They are looking for the road to come out. They want trusted roads and not betrayal. If you sit with them and talk, they will tell you. They hardly trust anyone and they say they do not want further betrayal and are willing to remain where they are until they get Allah’s help. They have, however, told me that they trusted me because I meant well. I have taken some of those that were declared wanted to certain quarters to negotiate and the outcome of the negotiation was good.
Why do you think there are still bombings in the North-East?
Maiduguri in particular has become what they call Makkah, the headquarters of the North-East, and that is why we are experiencing bombings unlike Bauchi, Adamawa and Yobe, where there are pockets of bombings.
I have always told them to come down and look for their mallams for peace. They have mallams; they have elders in the area that can talk to them. They have women and other individuals who can talk to them. There are even wheelbarrow pushers that can talk to them. Government officials should come down and meet them. They are ready for dialogue but they want sincere persons, not betrayers, to lead the dialogue.
Some government officials are saying Shekau is hardened. Is he not a human being? Shekau is a human being, and if you watch him, he is always calling Allah and believes he is fighting for Allah and this Allah will touch him. Government should follow the right way and the battle will be over.
Do you think Nigerians’ condemnation of the $1bn to fight insurgency is justifiable?
If government can put any amount into the insurgency war, they should go ahead and do just that. It is important that this insurgency ends because it is affecting everybody and once this thing is brought under control, you will see things becoming normal.
What is your assessment of the insurgency war under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration?
I cannot but clap for him. At least in Borno, we are sleeping very well. If you had come to Borno when this thing started, you would not be here by now (3pm). Everywhere would be vibrating. But since (President Muhammadu) Buhari took over, we have been sleeping soundly. We are now moving around up till 10pm. We now do our shopping in the night; unlike before that everywhere would be closed by 4pm. Buhari has really tried.
A report claims Buhari paid €3m for the release of the Chibok girls. Were you privy to the arrangement?
I do not know.
Are there any ongoing plans to secure the release of the remaining Chibok girls?
Of course, government will not sleep. We will also not sleep until the remaining girls, including the university lecturers and the police officers who were kidnapped when they were carrying the corpse of their colleague for burial, are released. Nigerians are not sleeping, nobody is sleeping.
Are you involved in some of these moves to get them released?
I will not answer that question.
Do you think the North-East Development Commission can be effectively used to develop the war-torn region?
It is for the rebuilding of the damage done by this war. I believe and hope this would be achieved. But do not underrate human beings; you will still see pockets of saboteurs.
The Nigerian Army said it has incapacitated Shekau. Do you believe that?
I don’t know. Am I the Nigeria Army? Ask (Chief of Army Staff, Tukur) Buratai.
How do you think the society can heal the wound of Boko Haram?
What can society do? The wounds of World War II healed gradually and it has healed. We too will heal; what can we do? Is it to say we will not forgive and move on? We have to move on. If you fight with any Kanuri, he will tell you to be patient and once that word is used, they cannot do anything. They will look around and say the person that did this is “our own blood.” Kanuris have kind hearts. They do not hold grudges; they do not want anything to destroy their faith and life. We will heal; we will forgive. I know it may be difficult for some who had lost almost everything, but with time, they will heal.
You recently created a non-governmental organisation. What is it all about and how do you think you can assist in the healing process?
I have gone round to see what could be done to assist the people and to find out what the problem is. I have found out that because of this insurgency, many things have gone wrong; drug addiction is common among other vices. I have come to the realisation that if something is not done now, the situation could get even worse and we may have another problem on our hands. I have been able to talk to the victims and have come to the understanding that, if something is done for them quickly enough, it could take them away from drug addiction and prostitution, among other vices. I discovered that the only way out is to form a local NGO and this is what I have done. And with the way we are going about it, we are going to rescue some people from damage, or at least, complete damage. I am working with the Borno elders and I believe with the assistance of all, we will help heal the wound.
What assistance are you receiving from stakeholders?
It is just to help out, to help internally displaced persons and non-IDPs, victims of insurgency who are not in camps but are worse off than IDPs in camps. My NGOs will go down to uproot them and help them. I do not have problems with stakeholders. They are even rooting for me. One of the elders here, Alhaji Abba Mustapha, even said ‘Aisha is a daughter, a Kanuri born somewhere who later traced her home and made a return’. And this is shared by almost all Kanuri. They believe I am one of them. It is only that I cannot speak the language. I am happy the elders are supportive, the traditional institution and government are equally supportive.
What is your final word?
To insurgents? I cannot but continue to beg them. What is it they want that they cannot come out and say? What is it that is hurting them for eight years, and they cannot come out? They preach to us to forgive; if you see them, they continue to say forgive. Do not hold anger against your brother overnight. What are they holding there? I am begging them, they should come out. The military does not have the intention of killing them. Nobody has the intention of killing them. The military has to do what they are doing in order to save civilians and property. Security want them to come back home for we are not fighting war. Enough is enough. They said if they come up, they want to go for training. Whatever you want, come out and government will provide for you. If government asks that you contribute money to establish them in business, won’t you do it? Nigerians will do that; we need peace. Government should look for those they are listening to and talk to them. They will come out. Shekau is a human being. Barnawi is a human being. Nur is a human being. Mainok is a human being. They should talk to them; they will come out.
– Reports reaching us now, is that the “stunt” was pulled by a hacker, who has indirectly made Funke Akindele a viral celebrity sensation.
Few days ago, Nigerian media went agog with news of Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele becoming part of the cast for yet to be released Hollywood superhero film“Avengers: Infinity War”.
The actress’ name was added to the movie’s website, and given the role of a member of the Black Panther’s guards, the ‘Dora Milaje’.
Funke started trending on twitter and many of her fans praised her for the hardwork and consistency she’d put in the industry so far.
However, while we were still basking in the euphoria that our very own Jenifa was about to become a global star, we were hit with the news that the actress was never contacted to feature in the movie.
It was gathered the stunt was pulled by a hacker, who indirectly made Funke Akindele a viral celebrity sensation when Nigerians spotted the name.
The sources further revealed that the actress couldn’t acknowledge the report after it broke on Wednesday, because no role pass was made to her. The hacker’s mess has been fixed, and that’s why she’s no longer on the cast list for the movie.

A Young Nigerian man – Edu Val, who had been battling stage 4 cancer for over a year, passed away in the early hours of this morning in Lagos.
Edu was in so much pain a week ago that he begged God to take his life. His twitter timeline is proof of how much he was suffering and how heartbreaking it was to see his mother cry over his condition.
For the past few days, well meaning Nigerians had been donating blood to him at the Holy Family Hospital, Festac, where he was receiving treatment.
A Young Nigerian lady has written to Popular Blogger and Psychologist, Joro to reveal how she still gets “beatings” from her parents at her age.
Read what she wrote below;
Good Morning bro joro, please I need you to post this as soon as possible and please hide my identity. I’m a Yoruba lady, 22 years but will be 23 this year.
My parents beat me up at any slight mistake, keep malice with me after and still expect me to beg. I don’t have problem with the begging cos they are my parents. I can remember the one that happened in 2016 with my mum. I just graduated from school and wanted to learn a voc.
I chose smth, she said no that i have to learn smth else. I said i’m now a graduate and at least I should be given the opportunity to choose a trade to learn.
She stopped cooking my food separately after they are done with theirs. Then one day she decided she’s not giving me food again and i told her it is not possible that am i not her daughter and we started exchanging words and she beat me blue black.
I couldn’t take the beating again and i collected the cane from her. And she started shouting and crying that I’m the one beating her, I couldnt sleep at home that day, slept outside. She reported me to people in the church, they caled me and I explained my part, but you know an adult can’t lie.
I was asked to beg and I did. So many similar cases took place after then. Now fast forward to 2018, I finished my service Dec 2017 so I’m still at home applying to everywhere applicable. On Thursday at night, I was in the sitting room only for me to see my dad with cane in front of me and before I could say anything, he started beating me. He said I didn’t tell my siblings to put off the gen cos we use 2hrs at night and we used 2 hours and some mins that day. So because of that I deserve to be beaten.
The following day which was a friday, nepa restored the light so I put on the necessary things but didn’t go to his room to put on anything. Only for him to tell my sister to remove all my appliances from the socket that I shouldn’t charge in this house because I didn’t put on the light and TV in his room. Throughout that day, he didn’t talk to me. So I knew another round of malice is on it’s way.
On Saturday morning which was yesterday, I carried my bag and told them I’m going back to where I served. They were like did I discuss it with them before, I said no, but they knew i’ll still go back cos my loads are still there. My father gave me tfare and I left the house.
Only for my fiance to call me to go back to the house, but I said no, I’m going cos he doesn’t know what I’ll go through, I explained to him and he claims to understand but I don’t think he does, I sha entered the bus and started traveling, when I got to half the journey, my fiance’s mother called me to please go back home and apologize, for what again, I’m the one that’s hurt right now, but I didn’t want to argue with her, and I said okay. I came down from the bus and entered the one going home. I got home and I apologized, though they’re still keeping malice with me and giving me attitude.
Joronation, Please I just want to know if this is how all youths are been treated or I’m the one with a problem cos the thing is driving me crazy with no one to hear me out, as an adult cannot lie. Thank you.
Its no news that women usually cheat on their partners if they are not good in bed or have little or nothing down there to work with. But this curvy lady (Praise) disagrees.
Though over the years, science and experience have proved that women are stronger and last longer in bed than the male folk; not because they are on the receiving end while the men exert energy while doing the entire job, but because they are naturally created that way.
Little wonder why many relationships hit the rocks because most men are unable to satisfy their partners sexually. But same is not the case with curvy and busty actress, Praise Sam Ogan. Dumping her partner because he can’t satisfy her in bed is not an option.
In a chat with Potpourri, she explained in insightful details, reasons why she will never dump a man she is crazy in love with all because she desires a partner with horse power in bed.
“That is nothing now! There are so many ways to work on that; I can’t leave a man I love because he doesn’t last in bed. For the fact that I love him we will work on it; the world has gone past that.
It’s just like asking a man to leave a woman because she cannot cook; what happened to teaching her, or getting a private cook to coach her indoors? Love is a beautiful thing, little things like this got nothing on them”, she said.
Speaking further, she confessed that she would only leave a man who can’t satisfy her in bed if he is proud and not ready to learn.
“It’s no lie, I have been in such a relationship before and I helped my man; I can never leave a man for such reason, except he has got pride and refuses to be helped, then I’ll leave him to his faith”, she concluded.

Singer Jidenna has in a series of tweets responded to US President Donald Trump‘s comments where he described Haiti and African nations as “s—hole countries.”
Jidenna wrote that although he’s not a fan of discussing Trump, comments like Trump’s most recent actually give the US more power.
He wrote about living and working in predominantly Haitian neighborhoods and thanked the country for teaching him more than the “s—hole president” ever will.
See his tweets below:
I don’t like talking bout this f–kboy cuz it gives him more power…but comments like #ShitholeCountries etc. are actually giving US more power. You can’t have Moses without Pharoah. ?
I pray that we as Africans & people of the African Diaspora continue to work tirelessly to build more beauty in our land(s) so that no one can find any single reason to call our nations #ShitholeCountries. Let this be a catalyst for courageous leadership and righteous governance.
I’ve lived & worked in predominantly Haitian neighborhoods for more than half my life from Mattapan, Boston to East Flatbush, Brooklyn. I want to thank you ?? for raising me via your Diaspora and teaching me more than a #ShitholePresident ever will
?? was the First Nation in the African Diaspora to win its independence. It paved the way for freedom fighters not only in the Diaspora but on the Continent. ?? will always be a beacon of light for me in the face of the neocolonialism that tries to create #ShitholeCountries
A Nigerian Lady, Gloria Omommaty Kennedy has aired out her frustration after “all the fine boys with cars” in her church left immediately after service ended.
Here’s what she wrote;
“All these fine boys in church that will just jump into their cars after service and drive off, how is it doing you people self????”
“That is how all my make up and packaging just wasted for nothing, wharisdat self, somebody will be eying you people and be waiting to come shake body pass after service, you will just come and spoil it by running out as if hot shit catch you.”
“I am very angry, before I could drag my hills outside, all the cute swagallicious guys don drive commot, na all these kpako niggas when go treck with me reach house kon remain. I kwukwu did not mind them, you cant be ugly and poor, choose one and save your future.”
“Let me go and rook for where to eat rice, so my hot blood can calm down.”
The Lagos state government has reportedly filed a lawsuit against singer Davido and comedian, AY Makun, for tax evasion.
A report by Punch revealed the entertainers have had a long-running battle with the Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) over alleged tax evasion.
Davido was reportedly charged before a Lagos high court in July 2017 while AY was said to have been charged to court in 2016 for failing to file his tax returns.
DMW’s boss – Davido is said to have told LIRS officials that he pays his taxes to Osun state government since he is an indigene of the state while AY said he makes his tax payments to Ondo state.
An Official of the Lagos state Government had this to say on the matter;
“Remember that Davido said he made N500m from his N30bn concert recently. We must know how much he paid to the LIRS. AY too said the same thing.
The comedian claimed to be paying his taxes to Ondo State, where he hails from. It seems these celebrities don’t understand that the tax law stipulates that you must pay your tax to your state of residence.
Anyway, we are already in court. Others will soon appear in court if they don’t obey the state tax law. You can’t be making money in Lagos and refuse to pay tax.”
Nigerian rapper, M.I. Abaga during the Soundcity MVp awards on the 12th of January at Eko Hotels in Lagos urged all rappers to “pick up their pens and start writing”.

Apparently, CDQ does not share the same sentiment as M.I. Abaga, as he took to the gram to blast the rapper. The indigenous rapper posted in Yoruba; “Egbon e lo joko jur. Film ni gbogbo eleyi ten act yi. Nothing like Naija Hiphop. Hiphop is Hiphop…. a wan pawo eyin pariwo”.
CDQ
Which translates to “Bros, go and sit down. You’re just acting for the camera. There’s nothing like Naija hiphop.. Hiphop is Hiphop. We are making money, you’re making noise..”
One of Big Brother Nigeria 2017 controversial housemates , Gifty Powers or simply Gifty, has in a new interview with PUNCH revealed that she regrets getting married.
Recall, She recently penned down some words of advice to her fellow women on relationship and men generally on social media.
She took to her Instagram story to write ;
You don’t need to break your head or cry to God to give you a GOOD/FAITHFUL man + you don’t need a complicated set of rules in searching for him. If he truly loves you, he will go extra miles in making you his love forever. Never expect a man to be faithful to you. All what you should do is be an amazing gf/wife
Well, in the Interview, she opened up about her life after the Big Brother Naija show, her acting career, marriage and other things about her.
Read excerpts from the interview…
Background
My grandfather is from Obosi in Anambra State. He is a Reverend Father and a barrister. He married my grandmother who is partly Liberian and Sierra Leonean, and they gave birth to my mum before they got divorced. I am my parents’ first daughter, but I’m the second child. I grew up in Ghana, Accra precisely.
Education
For my post-elementary education, I attended St. Theresa International School, Accra, Ghana. For my tertiary education, I attended University of Legon, Ghana.
Acting
I first knew that I wanted to become an actress at the age of 15, but my mum once told me that at the age of five, I used to apply her lipstick and stand in front of her mirror to act. However, I joined the movie industry in an absurd manner. I can’t remember the exact year but on a hot Saturday, I drove in my friend’s car to buy some things. While driving, someone hit the car and I became angry. He apologised and introduced himself as a movie producer. He gave me his complimentary card but still I insisted that he fixed the car. The following week, I went to a location and I was given a sub-lead role.
Music
I have appeared in a lot of music videos, that I have lost count of the number. It has been my mum’s dream for a very long time that I should become a singer. She tells me that there is a future for me in music, so yes; there is a chance that I may delve into music. I recently went to a friend’s studio and soon, I will be releasing something cool.
Lessons
While growing up, I faced a lot of humiliation with my mum and siblings, and that really taught me a few lessons about life that cannot be forgotten. Some people say to me that I’m not the only one that has suffered, but I believe that it’s not about how easily the words come out of your mouth; it’s about how well you can tell your story. I don’t have any challenges. Challenges are rather scared of me. If you cannot make the necessary moves while young, then you would have to sit in a corner and cry out your eyeballs while watching your mates doing what you should have done. Don’t blame the devil if you’re too lazy to climb that ladder.
Big Brother Naija
I had a great time at Big Brother Naija. I enjoyed the Friday game nights the most. I also enjoyed the tasks, the truth or dare nights, the shower hours, and hearing Big Brother speak. One of the lessons I learnt while in the house is that one has to be tolerant. If I were to go back into the house again, I wouldn’t show the insane part of Gifty Powers. However, making out with guys in the house was a strategy and I don’t regret it at all. I will do it again if I have to.
Breakthrough
A lot of opportunities have come my way after Big Brother Naija. Every second of my career has been amazing.
Marriage
I do feel like I got married too early. However, I plan to give details about what actually happened. It’s a big regret that I wouldn’t stop talking about. I thought I was in love but I found out that it was just lust. I didn’t make proper findings before saying ‘I do.’ I went through hell and I don’t wish the same for my enemies. It is part of my life’s experience and I’m glad that I conquered it all.
Mr. 2kay
To be honest with you, I don’t know how to define my relationship with Mr. 2kay. I’m still searching for a term to describe it.
Current projects
I have some employees who manufacture skin products. That’s because I have been asked several questions on what I apply on my skin that makes it glow so much. I also have Gifty Powers Lingerie for both men and women, though I have yet to launch it. I have a lot of crazy ideas, and it would shock you to know that I may even be aiming to climb the highest mountain in the world.
Romance
To be my ideal man, all you have to do is to be yourself. I can date and marry someone in the entertainment industry. Understanding is all that is needed to make it work.
Scandals
Whenever I read or hear negative things about me, I become amused. They also embolden me. It feels special to be wanted. Even an unborn baby has enemies.
Role models
I admire Kim Kardashian and she has influenced me in several ways. Aside from her maturity and strength, which are out of this world, I love her style. I also admire my mum. She was once a runway supermodel who practised abroad. Due to her experience and exposure, she designs my clothes. At 51, she has the strength of a 12-year-old girl.
Balance
My mum always tells me never to stop trying if I want to make it in life. You have to work till you are able to get what you want. My mum manages my company. She handles its operations whenever I’m busy with other things, and I pay her.
Fashion
I love to step out looking classy, elegant and sexy.
Relaxation
I relax by spending time with my nuclear family or by going to the club with my mum.
Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okogie has disclosed that the social media reactions that trailed her decision to delete pictures of her husband from her Instagram page, left her husband in shock.
Recall, Last week there was panic among the actress’ fans that her marriage of over six years was in crisis after she deleted all photos of her husband, Prince Odianosen Okojie, including those they took together, from her Instagram page.
Although, she later insisted that her marriage was intact by posting a photo of herself and her husband in bed and reading the bible together.
Well, Mercy Johnson did not shed more light on the reason behind the move to sanitize her social media page.
The mother of three while speaking to The NET, has now revealed that deleting ‘old’ pictures from her social media pages is a routine she carries out from time to time.
She said:
“I usually delete all the pictures on my page from time to time and this time around, I didn’t just delete my husband’s pictures, I deleted photos of me and my children”.
Mercy Johnson added that the reactions that trailed the move on social media left her husband in shock.
“In fact, my husband is in shock at the drama emanating from social media. We had a photo shoot and of course you know the new year swag na, so I said to delete the old pictures I had, which is what I do normally, na im e backfire oooo”, she says in a mixture of English and pidgin.
“I will still celebrate 10 years with my sexy Odi by God’s grace and I appreciate all my fans for expressing their concern over the issue. God bless you all”, she added.
Winner of the 2017 edition of Big Brother Naija, Efe Ejeba, has revealed that he hardly uses the different social media platforms in vogue today and as such, negative comments from trolls on these platforms do not bother him.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, he said,
“The truth is that I don’t know what is happening on social media. When I wake up in the morning, I pray, eat, record songs and I release them. I don’t hear what people say about my music. I am not disturbed about negative comments because it is normal for people to have different views about whatever you do.”
The based on logistics singer also said he could not remember having any dealings with an on-air personality, who called him out on social media during the week for disrespecting him.
According to the OAP, Efe didn’t honour an invitation for an interview even after they had reached an agreement.
Reacting to the issue, Efe said,
“I haven’t heard anything like that. Like I said, I am not a social media person. I visit social media once in a while because of the industry I am in. I only go online when I want to post things that are important to me and I log off immediately after that. The truth is that I cannot remember having such discussion with any OAP.”
The singer insisted that he had a good year in 2017 ,despite the insinuation by some music followers that he needs to improve on his music to compete in the industry.
“Considering where I am coming from, I experienced massive growth in my career last year. Right now, I have the attention of the people and that is the most important thing. But I hope to do more this year, which is natural for every youth that dreams.
“I don’t feel any pressure. I am just doing my music. If there is any pressure, it is from within because I try to push myself every day. This year, I plan to release more music and videos, and I will put the rest in the hands of God. The industry is growing and I am happy to be part of it at the moment,”
In what was an unexpected start to the new year, news made round that the house of Nigeria’s beloved comic actor, John Okafor, aka Mr. Ibu, was robbed and that he lost over N14m to the thieves.
While many sympathised with the actor, others also questioned why the actor would keep such a large sum of money in his house, considering the cashless policy adopted by most Nigerians. Some people also insinuated that the actor exaggerated about the amount he lost to the robbery.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, the veteran actor made some clarifications. He said,
“When I said I lost N14m, there was a misconception that it was all in cash but that was not the case.
One million naira cash, and properties worth over N13m were carted away. Some of the items the robbers stole included gold wristwatches, necklaces and jewellery. They also stole shoes belonging to me and my wife, and a lot of other items.
The trauma is still very much for my wife and kids. They are still in shock because the thieves knocked down the doors of the house and you can imagine the type of noise they would have made at the time they came, which was about 3am.”
“The total cost of all the things that were stolen is even more than the N14m that I said. I have no reasons to lie about that.”
“I live in a renowned estate for crying out loud, and we have different types of security in place. I am totally surprised as to how such an incident could have happened.
Right now, I feel someone gave the robbers some information. However, some arrests have been made already. We identified two of us those who were arrested from the CCTV footage.”
