Just after his unexpected but well-deserved win, The Best International Act at the 2017 edition of the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards, Wizkid has voiced out his concern with how African artists are treated by international show organizers.
The Starboy, who has had a fantastic run music-wise in 2017 and has a handful of awards both local and foreign to show for it, condemned the practice where some international awards show organizers give the plaque to African artistes back stage, instead of doing it live on stage.
Speaking during a live interview recently, Wizkid called for equal treatment for African artists, saying it’s either they’re shown same level of respect accorded their foreign counterparts or none at all.
“If you are not going to show us the same love you show your international artists on the main stage, don’t show us love at all. We have our own people”, Wizkid said.
Actress, Eucharia Anuobi penned an emotional, touching tribute to her late son, and also shared a photo of her touching his corpse at a mortuary. Read the emotional tribute below;
“22nd August 2017 was the day God’s precious child and son, the amazing blessing God blessed me with, that made me to be a mother, travelled out of this earth.”
“5th September 2017 was the day his fleshly remains were committed to mother earth.”
“5th December 2017 was the day it cumulated three months of my mourning him, for the purposes of observing rites of culture/tradition.”
“Raymond Joshua Chimaobi Chimnonso Ekwu, your mummy is absolutely distraught without you still. Our home is so silent now without you. Every time I still peep into your room to see if you’re there. When I drive back home, I long to see your smiling face radiating that joy of seeing me back.”
“Cooking has lost it’s joy because you’re not there to ask all those questions: mummy what are you cooking now? What’s that? Why do you put that? Mummy please can I stir the contents of what you’re cooking?”
“Can I get a piece of meat? No more will I hear you say: mummy my sleep mode is not activated yet when I say: Chimnonso go to sleep right now! No one to ask me: mummy how come am getting pimples on my face and you don’t have?”
“And I have to answer: Joshua, you’re in your puberty years and becoming a young man? Aaaaah my son, my baby, the most considerate child, my six feet four inches ( 6ft, 4 inches tall ) adorable giant, I miss you oooooooo.”
“Be that as it may, I want to use this medium to wholeheartedly appreciate God, the eternal rock of ages, the all-knowing emperor of the universe, the pillar of my life, for it all.”
“THE GREAT I AM THAT I AM, I THANK YOU, I BLESS YOU, I HONOUR YOU, I GLORIFY YOU LORD – 1 Thessalonians 5: 18.”
As many more people continue to join the movement of the #EndSARS campaign, a Nigerian big boy has decided to share his views on the campaign.
The young Nigerian man, Star Alexzy Markson took to social media to complain bitterly about SARS harassment, and added that the authorities should focus on corrupt Politicians, instead of arresting the youths who are only trying to make ends meet.

Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekehinde has revealed that one of the best decisions she made in her life was taken years ago and till date she never regretted the decision.
Omotola talking on a live show enumerates the ‘dangers’of being addicted to the social media especially the blogs while addressing why she decided to cut herself away from that system.
According to Omotola, there was a time in her life that she depended heavily on blogs and like many people, she devoted time to checking the blogs to see what was being said.
“When I stopped, I thought I was going to die, I even defended it that it was necessary to check these blogs as an actor… But I didn’t die”
Omotola revealed that she stopped checking blogs because she didn’t care what was being said about her anymore. She added that she is at peace with herself.
“Social media is addictive and before you know it, it ruins relationships” she submitted.
Omotola also added that the social media makes you do things for others and not for yourself because you post only what you feel people want to see.
Recall that Omotola while congratulating Banky W and his wife Adesua for their wedding had advised them to keep their relationship off the social media to have a blissful home.

The word “scamming” in Nigeria is no longer news to our ears/eyes as the country has been badly painted due to the nefarious activities of these ‘awon scammers’.
Here’s an experience that was shared by a Nigerian twitter user who almost fell victim to one of these vicious scams but was freed because they were both from the same country (Nigeria)

Let’s be very careful with our online business, some of us might not be so lucky .
Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic has vowed not to bow to society pressure to get married despite time running against her at 42.
The Theater Arts graduate from the University of Port Harcourt, who is one of Africa’s most accomplished actresses, has often had to deal with qun with a man.
But in an interview with a Nigerian magazine recently, the screen diva explained that while it’s not her doing that she is still single at her age, she would only commit to marriage on her own terms and conditions.

“I believe that God is in control of my life and will present the right man to me at the right time.”

There is always a special bond between a father & a daughter. Fathers are very caring & show affection to their beloved daughter. Therefore, daddy is often considered as daughter’s first love.
Below are screenshots of a funny conversation between a father and his daughter, apparently she asked for airtime to buy internet data so she could open a link sent to her by her dad (yeah you know those annoying bc’s we get from our older folks), and the dad’s savage replies were beyond epic.

Duncan Mighty has a word for people who think he has made money through illegal means.
Speaking with Goldmyne TV, the Port Harcourt-based musician said he had realised from the outset that he couldn’t survive on music alone and felt there was a need to invest in other businesses.
Duncan Mighty, who had rubbished reports that her elder sister stole at a mall recently, stated, “I am wealthy because I work too hard. Politicians are not as popular like us; so, I believe musicians can use their names to make wealth. Instead of using your fame to sleep with every lady, use it to gather wealth for yourself.
According to him, money doesn’t make a man wealthy and he tries as much as possible to be a blessing to people around him.
“If people say I have money, people around me must be blessed also. I am using this medium to talk to other artistes – music shouldn’t be the only thing we do because no man can reign forever. Your product can sell forever, but it cannot reign forever because the young shall grow.
“Your new thing will become a thing of the past and nothing anyone can do about that. As I speak to you, I have not released any music this year because I have been working on building a television station. But I can still buy any car or anything I want. It is too bad that when an artiste doesn’t have a new song in Nigeria, he doesn’t have money.”

The Rochas Okorocha administration has blamed the printer’s devil, for the wrong christening of the Ministry of Happiness. Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo said the typographic error led to the naming of the Ministry as the Ministry of Happiness and Couples Fulfilment.
It is now called Ministry of Happiness and Purpose Fulfilment.
“There was a typographic error in the first statement issued on the swearing in of the new commissioners. The word “Couple” was inadvertently written, instead of the word “Purpose,” we regret that. The statement went on to justify the essence of the new Ministry and its purpose in the state.
“The real essence of life is to be happy and to fulfil one’s purpose in life; Government officials are elected to address this.
Happiness and Purpose Fulfilment Ministry therefore, is established for the lost time to correct the policy framework to guide ministries and departments on what they must do to guarantee the citizens’ happiness and contribute better to the society.
“This is the very reason people elect their leaders: to guarantee their happiness and purpose fulfilment. A great leader therefore, is one who provides happiness to the people.
“Unfortunately, this vital element of our social lives has not been properly addressed. Governments at different levels have created several ministries and departments to achieve this, yet people are bitter, angry with hate speeches which lead to crisis, war and even terrorism,” the release read.
The statement further described the choice of Okorocha’s sister, Mrs Ogechi Ololo as the Supervisory Commissioner in charge of the ministry as a wise choice considering her experience in administration.
“The choice of Mrs Ogechi Ololo, a Masters Degree Holder in computer Science, USA who has been the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor on Domestic Matters and Food Security can be described as a round peg in a round hole. Before her appointment as the supervisory commissioner, she was charged with the responsibility of liaising with the Federal Government on N-Power Project, CBN Anchor project and BOI, Empowerment Projects.”
Governor Rochas Okorocha has also created other Similar Ministries such as the Ministry of Non Formal sector and Market development to address issues of the poor state of Imo Markets and organize the non-formal sector to make them more productive. The Ministry of education was also split into three ministries, Primary and secondary, Tertiary non-Formal Education, ICT, Science and Technology. NAN
The Imo State Government has banned tricycle operators from plying all roads within the state capital, Owerri.
Consequently, commuters, including civil servants, school children, teachers and market women trekked long distances to their destinations.
The stranded commuters castigated the state government for “compounding” their predicament by banning the much popular means of movement in the town.
“They (government) said they were on a rescue mission, but the opposite is the case.
“How can a government which claims to have the interest of the masses at heart ask the Keke operators to stay away from the roads? What do they want us to do? Where are the taxi cabs they said they had introduced to replace the Keke operators?” a female civil servant who did not mention her name said.
A visit to Douglas, Wetheral, Royce, Tetlow and School roads showed frustrated commuters who waited for hours for commercial vehicles to get to their destinations.
It was however, gathered that Toyota buses, which were said to have been procured by the state government to ease the situation and which bear the inscription “Imo Black Cab,” were seen plying most of the roads; while the “Taximo” cab intermittently plied the Orlu, Orji, Egbu, Naze and Obinze axis.
Reacting to the situation, the Commissioner for Information, Prof. Nnamdi Obiareri, said there was no going back on the ban of the commercial tricycle operators by the government.
Obiareri said the state government took the decision to checkmate the activities of hoodlums who use tricycles, especially at odd hours, to perpetrate heinous crimes, as well as to restore sanity within the state capital.
A 33-year-old Myanmar woman, who received officials’ warning for putting her seven-year-old daughter in chains in front of their apartment in Phuket’s Muang district, Thailand, claimed she did so out of love and caring because the “naughty” girl could be harmed or run over by a car.
After an image of the chained girl was shared on Thai social media, and subsequent child abuse complaints, Phuket children and family home care head Atchara Surakul and other officials went to inspect the apartment at 10am on Tuesday.
They told the family via a Myanmar language interpreter that they couldn’t chain a child, then took the mother, stepfather and children to Muang Phuket Police Station to record the incident.
Officials took the girl and her nine-year-old brother into temporary care pending an inquiry into the family’s situation.
Atchara said the mother claimed that the girl was naughty and the chain was used to keep her from harm while the mother took care of a one-month-old child born to her and her new Myanmar husband. The couple both worked in the construction worker industry.
Officials said the seven-year-old girl also had bruises, and the mother had admitted hitting her for being naughty.
The Myanmar woman, whose name was withheld pending investigation, has five children – four of them from her previous husband. Three of these – the “naughty” girl and her siblings aged 17 and 9 – came to stay with her in Thailand five months ago.
Atchara said the authorities did not want to take the children away, but they had to move two of the children as a temporary measure.
She said officials would talk to the mother about how to raise children. A multidiscipline team would also discuss concrete ways to help the family.

Suspected hoodlums on Tuesday night stormed a popular viewing centre, Kaneworld Resort in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, and shot dead a final year student of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) while watching the UEFA Champions League matches, TheNation reports.
It was gathered that a three-man gang, stormed the viewing centre located at 17, Idak Okpo lane, few minutes to the end of the matches involving Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich and shot the victim.
The heavily armed gunmen reportedly ordered viewers to lie face down.
“When they (the criminals) ordered everyone to lie down, the deceased struggled with his Infinix phone and was shot at close range,” Effiong Akpan, a Manchester United fan told TheNation.
According to him, the deceased, Dominic Ubiat, a final year Microbiology student was shot on his groin at close range.
“He ran with patches of blood from the viewing centre and was chased by the hoodlums to his house and died before help could reach him,” another fan added.
The Nation gathered that youths from the area arrived a little too late to take him to the hospital where medics confirmed he died from excessive loss of blood.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ubiat who visited the scene of the incident on Wednesday, lamented that all the years of their son in the university was in vain and vowed to go the extra mile to avenge his death.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Elkana Bala described the incident as “a pure robbery attack.”
A former street beggar, Abdulsalam Kamaldeen Idowu has earned the rare privilege of being honored by the House of Representatives for seeing himself through school to become a lawyer and political science graduate.
Mr. Idowu, who is crippled, did not allow his disability to hinder him from achieving academic success.
Also honoured by the lower legislative chamber was Miss Aarinola Olaiya, the first student in 28 years to graduate with distinction in surgery from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
The decision to honor these young Nigerians followed the adoption of a motion sponsored by the House Leader, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila (Lagos-APC).
Accordingly, the House resolved to establish, by law, a Parliamentary Honours/Award System for recognition of extraordinary achievements by Nigerians.
Gbajabiamila while introducing the Honourees, said that the motion was intended to reward excellence and encourage citizens who had elevated the ideals of the Nigerian society.
“When ordinary Nigerians do Extra ordinary things then they must be celebrated and all men and women of power and influence must rise and bow to them”, he said.
“Nigerians and the world celebrate Messi and Ronaldo everyday for the amazing things they are able to do with their legs and today we must celebrate Abdulsalam for the amazing things he has been able to do without his legs”, the House Leader added.
According to Gbajabiamila, Abdulsalam Idowu displayed resilience and hard work by studying political science and law from street begging and despite being homeless for years sleeping at Idumota Motor Park in Lagos.
“Idowu lost his two legs to polio at the age of three, lost his mother at the age of four, started primary school at eight and resorted to street begging to raise money to buy uniforms, books and to feed.
“He begged for arms from primary through secondary school and was known on the streets of Lagos as a beggar.
“From street begging he bought GCE form in 2002, sat and passed the GCE and Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam and was subsequently admitted to study political science at the University of Lagos.
“As he was preparing to complete his first degree, he sat for the West African School Certificate Examination and JAMB.
“In his determination to become a lawyer, passed the exams studied law and was later admitted to Nigerian Law School in 2015 and was called to the Nigerian Bar on Nov. 30 2016”, Gbajabiamila added.
The lawmaker also seized the opportunity to inform his colleagues that Master Ayodele Dada, who was similarly introduced to the House and the world in like manner on the 26th of March, 2016, for breaking the 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point at graduation in the University of Lagos, just concluded his service at the Central Bank of Nigeria and preparing to further his studies abroad after receiving several job offers.
He expressed belief that the duo of Aarinola and Abdulsalam will also soar higher.

He made the revelation in an interview with Genevieve Magazine. In his words: “I am separated from the mother of my kids. I have an 11 year old girl and a nine year old boy from her and they live in Atlanta.

Read excerpts of the interview below…
On the recent spat between Wizkid & Davido:
I don’t really like to comment on that. Everyone that knows me, knows that I’m all for the notion of “there’s enough room for all of us”.
Wizkid.
On keeping up with female fans:
I just try and show them love as much as possible no matter where I go. When we was on tour in the US , we had a view instances where fans tried to pretend to be Press/Media so they could sneak into our entourage backstage.

I’m single. I feel like it’s very important to be focused at this stage in my career, but you know what they say about love/romance, you never see it coming so at the same time I’m open to it.
While the issue of tithing appears to be causing ripples and division among Nigerians, an investigative journalist and writer, Femi Owolabi, has come to the defence of some pastors and what they do with the tithes and offerings they get from the church.
Femi Owolabi
Owolabi took to his Facebook account to speak on the trending issue. Below is what he posted…
I live around Yaba area of Lagos. From Sabo down to Iwaya, you see boreholes donated by Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, MFM.
Many months ago, I was working on a report and I needed to carry out some laboratory tests. When I got to University of Lagos’ Chemical Engineering lab, I was directed to the university’s central lab which I gathered is the largest and most equipped. Entering, I saw that the lab was donated by Daniel Olukoya, founder of MFM who is actually an alumnus of the school.
As much as the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, embarrasses itself on the pages of newspaper, CAN runs one of the largest displaced persons camps in the northeast. For three years that I have been mobilizing relief materials for displaced persons in the northeast, aside individuals and a few NGOs, Christian organizations have been a larger donor of relief materials. My phone would ring, and the caller goes, “I am Pastor JJ. We have bags of cloths, please how do we get these to the displaced persons in the northeast?”
Charis Family Church, in 2015, opened its facility as a collection center for relief materials. The pastor, Bayo Adeyinka, and a team raised almost a million naira to sort logistics.
Just yesterday, another pastor whose church’s team once gave me bags of relief materials for IDPs, told me they have 33k left in the account, and he asked what this can sort for the IDPs. He also wants us to meet this week so he can drop with me, bags of relief materials.
A man reached out to me many months ago. He needed information on how he can move 1000 cartons of flour (or wheat?) from Lagos to any of the IDPs camps in the northeast. I did a check on the man, he is a pastor.
In Lagos here, the Catholic Mission and a couple of other missionary hospitals are always on medical outreach to the IDPs.
I understand there is an ongoing debate on whether or not paying tithe is a Christian practice. Sincerely, those arguing against come with strong points. And sadly, responses from Daddy GO and others are so weak, far from convincing.
Get it right, it is the duty of Lagos Water Board to provide water for Lagosians, but MFM now shares in this responsibility. It is the duty of NEMA and the Refugees’ Commission to attend to the victims of insurgency, but CAN and a couple of other Christian organizations share largely in this.
So, above all, if I am paying tithe or giving church my money, I do so because of some of these things I have mentioned in this post

According to her, some of her clients are minsters in government and MPs including some radio presenters.
After graduating as a lesbian master, Janet has been able to convert more than 3,000 women and is still counting to reach her target.
According to Janet, lesbianism as described by many Ghanaians as evil is never stated anywhere in the bible.

“I choose the kind of men I want, and my anus can take any size, no matter how huge the person may be.”
Nigerian gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi has taken to his Twitter page to call out the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
Recall, Bisi Alimi recently said that Christianity in Nigeria is a fraud because of the constant offerings and tithes.
He said:
“Because most of the time, the truth is the best gift you can give humanity. No don’t thank me, just be the change.”
This time, Alimi has referred to the Clergyman as vile and irresponsible and also accused him of using his members’ tithe money to buy private jet.
