Atinka TV’s popular reality show, “Di Asa,” had its auditions come to an end on Wednesday at the famous Koforidua Taxi Rank in the Eastern Region.
According to Atinkaonline.com, the last event at Koforidua will go down as one of the most entertaining auditions as almost all the 24 contestants thrilled viewers and audience with exciting dance moves, giving the judges a tough time in selecting deserving winners.
The competitive nature of the last audition compelled the judges to select eight contestants to represent Koforidua in the Di Asa House in Accra, bringing the total number of finalists to 76. Prior to the Koforidua audition, the highest was 6.
All the 76 finalists will be camped in the Di Asa House on the 20th of October, 2017; they will be given several tasks to perform including, aerobics, dancing competition, health education among others.
The 13 week competition which is like Big Brother Nigeria, will award a saloon car, a Kia mini -truck (Abossey Okia Macho) and a tricycle (Aboboyaa) to the first, second and third winners respectively.

Spain is facing a political and constitutional crisis after Catalans voted in favor of independence in a contested referendum that descended into chaos when police launched a widespread and violent crackdown.

A dedicated boyfriend has been applauded by women around the world after pictures of him wearing his girlfriend’s pink high heels went viral.
The photographs were taken in a hospital in south-western China, where the girlfriend had been waiting to see a doctor and have since been liked over 25,000 times on social media, and commented on more than 10,000 times.
They show the boyfriend standing in baby pink heeled sandals, while his girlfriend takes a seat wearing his comfortable looking sandals.
The woman who took the pictures, who has has the surname Xie, said the couple had already swapped shoes when they arrived at the Xinqiao Hospital in Chongqing Municipality’s Shapingba District.
Xie said: “The high heels were pink, so it was very obvious when I saw the man wearing them.
“She did offer to swap their shoes again, but he refused.
“I found that really, really sweet.”
Xie’s friend took the photograph’s home to “educate” her boyfriend.

A Nigerian lady, Mary Ero has recounted how Nigerian singer cum actor Banky W, played a vital role during the turbulent times she needed people the most.
According to Mary, Banky was the only one who helped her 8-years ago when she was abandoned by her child’s father, sacked from MTV where she worked, diagnosed with HIV and also evicted by a friend she was staying with.
She and her daughter recently bumped into the singer at a mall and they both took snaps.

“So today this happened. On the surface it might look like an ordinary celebrity / child-of-starstruck-parent photo opp but there is a deeper story here. About 8 years ago, while about 6 months pregnant with this little girl here, I fell onto terribly hard times. I have chronicled most of it on my social media platforms but to summarise it, I was abandoned by my child’s father, lost my house, was kicked out unceremoniously from my job at MTV for no reason, and to crown it all, diagnosed HIV positive. Shortly after that, my then best friend, with whom I was staying, decided she had had enough so I was given an eviction notice. Long story short, I began to reach out to my friends and acquaintances to try to pick up the pieces, get a place to stay, deliver safely and move on. Suffice it to say that practically none of my celebrity ‘friends’ ever came through. These were people who would call me non-stop when I was in MTV but suddenly, I was invisible. The only people that did were this man, @bankywellington, and @funlolafar. (Funlola I don’t consider a friend but a sister, or worst case my cousin anyway.?) What was funny is that both of them had no knowledge of the situation I was in. I think this will be the first time Banky will be hearing of it. I just told him I was trying to raise money for a place, I think. In those days @bankywellington had not even come close to being as successful as he is now. Yet the next morning, before 7am, he had driven from his place in Lekki, to my house in Magodo with cash for me. And as usual, a hug.
Now one reason people are scared to ask for help especially money from friends is that the dynamics of the relationship changes after someone has helped you out. People who give suddenly feel somewhat superior to the receiver or even feel that the receiver is a tiresome distraction. Not all the time but a lot of the time. However, with Banky there was never that awkwardness. I met him several more times as I managed to get back on my feet over the years and he never behaved like anything like that transpired between us. He was always warm, always hugging, always kind. Today at ICM which I took my daughter to entirely by coincidence, I ran into him doimg his ambassador duties at the Samsung stand. This would be the first time he would see my daughter ever. I had no intentions of her taking pics with him but he just grabbed her and asked ‘where’s your camera’? Then he bagan to tell her how he and I go way back. It was all I could do not to cry a little. As we left, my daughter asked “Is he a famous person”? I said “Yes. But more importantly, he is a good person.”
The gunman in the shooting incident at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock.
Paddock, a white male local resident, opened rapid-fire at an outdoor concert in the wee hours of the morning causing pandemonium among thousands of concertgoers until SWAT units found and killed him.

Local media reports that about 50 people have died from the incident while no fewer than 200 sustained various degrees of injuries.
Sheriff Joseph Lombardo called for calm after the shooter was taken out, saying that Marilou Danley, a woman he described as Asian and 4-foot-11, has been declared a person of interest following the bloody attack.
In the aftermath of the mayhem, the police also descended on nearby Ali Baba Restaurant, where they investigated reports of a shooting at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino, not far from the concert ground.
No reason has been adduced for the abominable attack but the police have promised to give updates as soon as they’re available.

Two concertgoers who barely escaped described hearing round after round of gunfire

The Vegas massacre is the bloodiest attack in the United States since another lone wolf stormed a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida last year killing 49.
So far, the authorities are yet to rule this latest onslaught as an act of terrorism.

The Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) have responded to former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu’s recent interview where he made claims about their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The Abia State governor had claimed in the interview that the IPOB Leader fled to London via Malaysia over fear of his safety during the Operation Python Dance exercise recently carried out by the Nigerian Military in Abia state.
He also claimed he spoke to Nnamdi Kanu’s family members who revealed to him that the outspoken IPOB leader was safe and sound in London, also saying he advised Kanu to quit his secessionist movement while he was in prison and the Igbos should rather work to bring out an Igbo president rather than create their own country.
Now the IPOB group have in a powerful statement by it’s publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, doubted Orji Uzor Kalu’s paternity, saying he never spoke to any of Kanu’s relatives while also threatening to drag the former Abia governor alongside the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai to court over the disappearance of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The statement read:
“It has come to the knowledge of the worldwide family of IPOB and it’s leadership concerning the wild and widely reported comments of Orji Uzor Kalu regarding the whereabouts of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. This man Orji Uzor Kalu have again made claims that could only classify him as either mentally unstable or beholden to the Fulani caliphate interest, to the extent that he has almost lost his senses.’
‘IPOB through her lawyers will compel Orji Uzor Kalu to appear in court alongside Buratai on the October 17, 2017 to tell the world, under oath, what he claims to know about the whereabouts of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“His laughable assertion that the IPOB leader is in London is confirmation that all along he has been working in tandem with Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, Willie Obiano, Rochas Okprocha and others to slaughter as many IPOB family members as possible in order to please the core North.
“In the second republic, men like Orji Uzor Kalu would only be found useful as a political thug.
“That a man that have spent his entire fraudulent life lying, deceiving and running errands for his Hausa Fulani Islamic caliphate masters made this laughable outburst is not entirely unexpected. We expect many more compromised Efulefus to follow suit in the coming days.
” After all selling collective Igbo interest and by extension that of Biafra has been their hallmark all their political lives. It didn’t start today but their era is coming to an end.
“Biafrans are now well accustomed to Hausa Fulani errand boys euphemistically referred to as Igbo leaders coming out once in a while to condemn what is in the collective interest of the people.
“They have no qualms about conniving with Hausa Fulani Islamic soldiers to kill and maim their own people as long as their meaningless and fake status of Igbo leader is left intact.
” Only a man without honour, a clearly definable paternal lineage as tradition demands and devoid of honour will spout such unfounded uncorroborated nonsense in the hope of letting Buratai off the hook for the abominable atrocities his soldiers committed in connection with the disappearance of our leader when his home was raided on the 14th of September 2017.
“Both the United Kingdom and Malaysia are civilised countries and not as corrupt as Nigeria, where there is no accurate record of migration in and out of the country. What Orji Uzor Kalu is saying in essence is that United Kingdom government officials are lying when they rightfully demanded the whereabouts of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“For the information of those who may have fallen for the bare faced lies of Orji Uzor Kalu, United Kingdom is an island nation surrounded by water and near impossible to enter without being documented. If our leader is in the UK their government will not bother demanding he be produced by the Buhari regime. Lying it seems runs deep in APC.
It is not right to apportion blame to Orji Uzor Kalu alone but to the entire people of South East and Abia State in particular for allowing such a shamelessly proud Hausa Fulani slave to rise to political prominence. There is no other more humiliating indictment of the an entire race than that of a man who in traditional Igbo setting would not be allowed to speak in public, suddenly rose to political prominence in a land brimming with academic brilliance and excellence in every field of human endeavor. There seems to be an ongoing battle among so-called political leaders in Biafraland as to who will emerge the anointed son of the Fulani caliphate. “

“Orji Uzor Kalu and his co-conspirators must await the fury of the people which is slowly building up. The same way Romans rose against the murderous Brutus and his gang that slayed the popular Julius Ceasar, so will the mob in Biafraland descend on all traitors in no distant time. Planning and executing the mass murder of IPOB members including our leader and looking to cover up your complicity with bare faced lies, will expose and render Orji Uzor Kalu inconsequential and expose him for the Hausa Fulani slave he truly is. The masses will set an example with the likes of Orji Uzor Kalu, Okezie Ikpeazu and Willie Obiano in no distant time that other quislings like them may learn.
“We have formally instructed our attorneys to add the name of Orji Uzor Kalu as one of those who might help in locating of our leader. He should be prepared to present his evidence in a court of law and be cross examined under oath. The surviving members of Kanu family have all denied ever talking to the lying Orji Uzor Kalu about the whereabouts of our leader, so he should be prepared to mount the witness box because his lies have gone on for far too long.”

A woman, identified as Mrs Amaka Ihuoma, allegedly attacked her 13-year-old housemaid, Ogochukwu Moses with a high heel shoe for urinating in a toilet without flushing.
According to one Chika Ali, who reported the incident online, Mrs Ihuoma was in the habit of treating maids badly as little miss Ogochukwu was the 6th maid she has had within a short period of time as the others reportedly ran away.

Former Governor of Abia State, Uzor Orji Kalu has stated that leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu rejected the advice he (Kalu) gave him (Kanu) while he was in Kuje prison.
The former governor said instead of heeding his advice to shun the struggle and embrace peace, the IPOB leader kept on organizing boys who raped girls, and establishing secret cults.
This is part of an interview Kanu, now a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, had with Punch.
He said, “I spoke with Nnamdi Kanu in the prison and gave him quality advice. I counselled him to embrace peace and agree with whatever terms that will set him free.
“I also warned him against allowing his boys to be displaying Biafra flags, coat of arms, organising parades, establishing secret security service, and mounting a guard of honour.
“I told him that by doing all these, his group had subdued the sovereignty of Nigeria and are therefore looking for trouble.
“No government on earth including the United States will allow any group to be championing the cause of dividing their country.
“I believe most sincerely that with the situation on ground today, majority of the Igbo do not agree on the issue of Biafra as a separate country.
“I have heard some elite, including professors who are saying that they want Biafra but they should know that there is no way such agitation can be achieved under the law.
“There is no section of the Nigerian constitution where you have restructuring. There is no section that spells out the process for dividing the country. All those things are alien to the constitution.
“If willingly, we want to talk about constitutional amendment, then people can bring up various issues.
“Today, the creation of Biafra Republic is not feasible. The (Indigenous People of Biafra) boys have the right to express themselves but they do not have any right to engage in destruction of property, raping women or setting up a Biafran intelligence service.
“No country will allow that to happen. I am an Igbo man before being a Nigerian and I have no regrets being an Igbo man. I have lived outside Igbo land so I understand Nigeria. I sincerely want to say and maintain what I have said earlier that Biafra as a country is not an issue now.
“The issue is for the Nigerian government to give us justice and fairness. When some Igbo people cry of marginalisation, I tell them that if they go to other parts of the country, the people there are also crying because the story is the same. There is a wall between the rich and the poor.
“We don’t have any war of dialect or language. The rich people should start having a human face so that we can move the nation forward.
“I will not tell you a lie. Nnamdi Kanu did not agree with me at all on my views about his activities. I did most of the talking throughout the two hours and ten minutes that I stayed with him.
“I told him many stories about life especially some of the stories that the Ikemba Nnewi (Odimegwu Ojukwu) told me when he was alive and also explained lot of things to him based on my experience in life but didn’t agree with me.
“I had to cut short my journey when I heard what was happening between his boys and the military. I returned to the country on September 14 and came straight to Abia State on the 15th to make sure that we talked to the IPOB boys so that they would stop what they were doing and allow peace to reign.”

Andrew Enwerem, Imo State Police Command spokesman, told Southern City News that the 27-year-old armed robber, who hailed from Amaumara in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of the state, had been on the wanted list of the command for a long time.
According to Enwerem, Nwankwo had been involved in a series of criminal operations, including robbing a bank customer of N8m at Access Bank at Ahiara Junction on August 8.
The slain suspect was also said to have robbed one Jovita Enwerem of N650,000 at gunpoint at Ahiara Junction on June 21.
A police source, who did not want to be named, told our correspondent that Nwankwo met his waterloo after he masterminded a robbery attack on a Chinese expatriate in Owerri in May.
The expatriate was said to have been dispossessed of his N10m, while his police guard was killed in the criminal operation.
Enwerem said:
“On September 28, the state police command control room was alerted to a robbery attack along Wetheral Road, Owerri.
“A customer of the Wetheral Road branch of Zenith Bank had gone to the bank to withdraw N50m. On their way, along Wetheral Road, they were confronted by a daredevil armed robbery gang operating with a grey colour Toyota Corolla with number plate ABJ 951AA that blocked the convoy and immediately opened fire on the police escorts.”
The police spokesman stated that the robbers engaged the cops in a gun duel but they were overpowered by the police.
He said three policemen, however, sustained gunshot injuries and were already being treated in the hospital.
He said:
“The criminals escaped from the robbery scene but their vehicle was riddled with bullets. We, however, contacted police in the neighbouring states to be on the lookout.
“Subsequently, the criminals were intercepted in Umuahia, Abia State, where they engaged the operatives in a gun duel. One of the gang members was gunned down while the others escaped with bullet injuries and the ash coloured Toyota Corolla car was also recovered.”
Enwerem said investigation by the command’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad operatives revealed that the elder brother of the slain robber, one Chibuike Nwankwo, 42, and Chukwudi Obinwanne, a native of Ugiri in Isiala Mbano LGA of the state, were being held at SARS cell for bank robbery cases.
The two suspects in the police custody, however, denied the allegation when our correspondent sought to know their level of involvement in the crimes.

Reports stated that gunfire was heard at the Route 91 Country Music festival, which was taking place across the road from the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.

Concert-goers reported seeing muzzle flashes from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and the sound of what they described as automatic gun fire.
Authorities shut down part of the Las Vegas Strip after receiving reports of an active shooter. Witnesses say country singer Jason Aldean was playing near the end of the concert when gunfire rang out.
