The Federal Government has filed an application at the Federal High Court Abuja seeking the revocation of the bail granted to leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu on the 25th of April this year.
In the application which was filed by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, the Federal government cited disobedience of the bail conditions granted to Kanu as part of the reasons for its request.
In a Motion on Notice, the government is seeking an order of the court “directing the arrest and committing the 1st defendant to custody pending trial”.
Kanu and some members of his group are standing trial for conspiracy to commit acts of treasonable felony, treasonable felony and other related offences at the court, offences that the government said are not ordinarily bailable.
Also in the application, the Federal government said the IPOB leader had violated the terms of his bail conditions, which include that he should not be seen in a crowd exceeding 10 people; he should not grant any interviews, hold or attend any rallies; and that he should file in court medical updates of his health status every month.
Other grounds for the government’s application are that “rather than observing all of the conditions listed above, the 1st defendant in flagrant disobedience to the court order flouted all conditions of the bail; the first defendant has in furtherance to the offence (for which) he was charged, inaugurated Biafra Security Service; and that such an act is a grave threat to national security and unity of the country”.
Joined in the application with Kanu are: Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawuisi and Bright Chimezie.
Kanu was granted bail on April 25th and was released from Kuje prison on April 28th.

Ghanaian Rapper, Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere aka Obrafour, has admitted he doesn’t see why Christians should label or judge some artistes and their songs as profane or secular that cannot be used to glorify God in the various churches.
Speaking in an inspiring conversation with DJ Roar, the host of Kumasi based Kessben FM’s Entertainment Cirkle via telephone, the rapper claims that so long as the lyrical content portrays the Holiness of God, it should qualify to be used during Church service.
According to him, the Bible nowhere condemns any particular style of music. Thus, there is no biblical basis to declare any particular style of music to be secular or outside of God’s will.
He, therefore, dares Christians to stop judging and leave everything to our maker.
He said:
“The reality is that, so long as the lyrical content portrays the Holiness of God, it should qualify to be used during Church service. I don’t know why Christians brings in the various divisions. What does secular means? Meanwhile, the so called ‘gospel musicians’ and the secular ones all dwells on planet earth. See, the lifestyle of some secular musicians are more pleasing to God than the so called gospel artistes”.
“Everything depends on the heart. Christians have no right to categorize songs as gospel and secular. Per Biblical evidence, David was supposed to be killed after seducing Bathsheba but God saved him. This means, only God has the right to judge. The same Christians are present at clubs, so what they’re doing is a mere hypocrisy at the zenith level”.
This assertion by Obrafour presupposes that his current inspiring song titled “Aseda” should be used by Christians during Church service.

In a sermon during a congregational prayer at Hilal Crescent Mosque, Ilorin, Kwara State, Professor Yusuf stated that Allah has not imposed on the believers tasks that are beyond their capacities.
The don, who is the immediate past Dean of Postgraduate School, University of Ilorin, said God has not commanded His servants to kill animals during the festivity except those among them who have the resources to do so.
The scholar, who told the history of the celebration of the Eid-el Kabir Festival and the imperativeness of sacrificing animals, said Allah has nothing to do with the blood of slaughtered animals but the intentions of those making the offerings.
He said:
“Islam makes things simple for its adherents. There is no condition attached to what we are doing in our religion. Ileya (Eid festival) is around the corner. It is a common knowledge that Muslims are preparing to buy animals for sacrifice during the festival.
“We have been given prescription on how to go about it. Almighty Allah has not conditioned us to sacrifice animals during the festival if we are not capable of doing it.
“What matters most is the intention behind whatever we do. There are instances that some people, all in the name of killing animals during the festival, will go as far as obtaining loans through the cooperative or bank. This is not acceptable. We should act within our own confines.
“We need to make it clear that Allah does not give us a responsibility or a task that we cannot accomplish. Therefore, we need to be cognizant of this in whatever we do in life.
“On the sacrifice of animals during the festival, some people used to misconstrue the intention as if we are performing ritual like other religions. We don’t do that in Islam. What we are doing is in line with the deed of our spiritual leader, Prophet Ibrahim. We must also make it clear that Almighty Allah has nothing to do with the blood of the animals we sacrifice”

Oluwo of Iwo kingdom, Osun, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi who recently blasted the Resume or Resign protesters saying they do not wish the country well, has dropped yet again, had another thing to say.
Fondly called ‘Emperor Telu‘, the monarch organised a special interdenominational prayer for President Buhari at the Oluwo Palace yesterday where he said,
‘As I have prayed for Buhari today, new life has come for him. He must spend eight years in power despite all obstacles from opposition’.
He also said:
“It is painful that those who launched that campaign of ‘Resume or Resign’ are not patriotic as they claimed. They politicised the campaign which shouldn’t be. Buhari is my son and I won’t be happy when people are wishing him dead. If any civil servant or police officer falls sick, will you advise them to resign? Those who are clamouring for Buhari’s resignation are not sane. Nigerians don’t love those that love them but they are passionate about those that hate them. “All those who are wishing him dead and those who are clamouring for his resignation shall fall sick”.
