The Nigeria Police Force has detained and tried two of its personnel in an orderly room for alleged reckless shooting in Lagos.
The personnels, it was gathered are two policemen attached to the Nigerian popstar, Davido.
Recall that a video was in circulation few weeks ago on social media showing the two policemen shooting in the air while in a moving vehicle in Lagos.
However, the Head of Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU), ACP Abayomi Shogunle, has disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Police Mobile Force at the Force Headquarters, identified the men following a directive from the Inspector-General of Police.
Shogunle who said the incident happened on July 31 at 5pm along the Murtala Mohammed International Airport road in Lagos explained that the two policemen, are members of the 20 Police Mobile Force Squadron, who were attached to a private security company, Infinity Security Company.
Shogunle said a popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke, (AKA Davido), then engaged them to provide escort for him to his house while returning from abroad.
Along the way, as seen in the video which has been confirmed from investigation, the two policemen involved started shooting into the air for no just cause.
Punishment has been recommended. We are only waiting for the appropriate police authority to review the punishment.
Star Tom Cruise injured himself during a failed building jump stunt while filming Mission: Impossible 6 in London on Sunday.
The 55 year old actor who does his own stunts was filmed taking a gigantic leap onto a rooftop, but his jump fell short as he crashed into the side of a building.
Cruise is known for doing his own stunts. The thrill-seeking actor has explained why he prefers to do it himself.
“I’ve trained for 30 years doing things like this,” he said back in 2013 on The Graham Norton Show. “It allows us to put cameras in places that you’re not normally able to do. When I started producing ‘Mission: Impossible,’ I started developing different action around what I could physically train to do.”

A 20-year old notorious armed robbery suspect, Ahmed Lateef, who has been on the wanted list of the Lagos State Police Command, was on Saturday arrested in Oshodi by men of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad, RRS, while returning from an all-night robbery operation in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Lateef, a.k.a ‘Ajona’ who has been on the Police wanted list since April 2017, for a robbery operation in Ejigbo area of Lagos, where two motorcycles and other personal effects were stolen by him and his gang, confessed to participating in countless robbery operations in Lagos, Oyo and Ogun States.
The suspect, who is from Oshogbo, Osun State also added that he participated in two robbery operations twice a week in the company of Enu-Ose, his other gang member.
Lateef, who is also an ex-convict disclosed that they went to Kuto area of Abeokuta, Ogun State to burgle a computer and phone retail outlet. He was arrested with a motorbike carrying the registration number of OGUN: MEK 339 WM, which he also confessed to have been stolen in Kuto, Abeokuta.
Lateef revealed that Enu-Ose, a member of his gang who is an indigene of Abeokuta, provided information to the gang about the computer dealing outlet and that he also led three other suspects to the Ejigbo robbery, where they carted away two tricycles and two motorcycles among other personal effects.

When further quizzed, the 20-year old suspect stated that for every stolen item such as jewellery, phones, motorcycles and laptops adding that there was always a ready buyer. His robbery gangs usually hire metal cutters in Mushin for N10,000 per operation.
While pleading for mercy, he listed other gang members as Noah, Segun, Lekan, Ishan – Idi, Rilwan, Shile, Ege and Jandor while two of his gang members, Seyi Adebayo (26) and Saeed Funsho (23) alongside two receivers of stolen items have been moved to Lagos State Taskforce for prosecution.
Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous – Cole stated that the Command would not relent on its efforts to ensure that Lagos is not a safe haven for criminals.
The parents of twin girls conjoined at the top of their heads were told they were expecting one baby with a big head.
Twenty-nine-year-old Taslima Khatun Uno and her 28-year-old husband, Mohammad Rafiqur Islam, were shocked when they became parents to two little girls.
The couple are now facing an anxious wait to see if surgeons can separate their daughters.
Rabia and Rukia were born with the tops of their heads fused together.
And now doctors are trying to find out if the girls share a brain and blood vessels — to determine if an operation is possible.
Rabia and Rukia, who turned one on July 16 this year, are admitted at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, where medical experts are assessing their condition.
The couple are now facing an anxious wait to see if surgeons can separate their daughters.
Dr. Mohammad Ruhul Amin, chairman of paediatric surgery at the hospital, said: “Theirs is an extremely rare case of conjoined twins. They are in good health and growing at a normal pace.
“We are conducting tests, checking how they are evolving. We need to determine if the girls share the same skull, brain and blood vessels. It would be extremely difficult to operate on them.
“The babies’ heads are joined side by side. In other kids, we can see their heads are joined front to back, which creates movement problems.
“As their heads are joined side by side, it makes physical movement, such as bending the neck, easier.”
Taslima had enjoyed a healthy pregnancy, continuing to teach in the local school and look after the couples’ seven-year-old daughter Rafia.
But after several scans, Taslima and her husband were told in the eighth month that she was carrying only one child but the foetus had an enlarged head.
“The doctors thought this was because of water on the brain. I was given medicine to take for one month to try and reduce the size,” she said.
Even as she went into labour, doctors hadn’t spotted that she was carrying conjoined twins. And it took Taslima a day to learn her newborn babies’ condition.
Taslima said: “I went into labour at night and delivered them in the early morning by surgery.
“For a day, I did not see them as I was unconscious due to anaesthesia; but when I saw them I could not believe my eyes.
“My husband was unwell and had not seen them either. I did not have the courage to tell the condition of our children.
“It was very painful for me as, instead of being happy about my children, I was worried if they will survive.”
The parents had taken them to advanced hospitals in Dhaka within five days of their birth, but were told the girls were doing fine and that they would need to wait for them to grow, and monitor whether they were healthy enough to undergo such major surgery.
A week after they celebrated their first birthday, their parents brought them to hospital. But even as they have hopes pinned on the doctors, the experts are in no hurry to operate on the children.
Professor Amin says the team will wait up to two years before making a final decision on separating Rabia and Rukia.
“We are in no hurry to operate on them, as the success rate of such surgeries are very low. This is not like any other surgery,” he said.
“It is a difficult and complicated operation and will be a team effort. Also, we have no previous experience in such cases; so, we want to do thorough examination and discuss with experts to take a medical decision.
“If the need to bring experts from other countries arise, we will do that to save them.”
The decomposing body of a Female Student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa was found in her apartment.
A Student of the Prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, who was always known to mind her business, who always come in and go out of her Lodge at her own discretion has been found dead in her room after four days.
The incident occurred within the first week of August 2017 and no one including her neighbors knew of the incident until after 4 days.

Gunmen on Sunday struck at the Assemblies of God Church on the Oguta road Onitsha, Anambra State killing one policeman and a civilian.
This is coming seven days after gunmen attacked St Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu and killed no fewer than 13 persons and injured 27.
An eyewitness account told our correspondent that the gunmen had momentarily stopped at the Assemblies of God Church, but on sighting some policemen at the church, opened fire on them.
“When the firing became too hot, the policemen abandoned their patrol vehicle and ran away for safety.
“The gunmen moved to their patrol van and took a gun belonging to the policeman they killed.
“I saw two of the gunmen but I can’t say how many they are in number.
Another eyewitness said, “Gunmen on Okada (motorcycle) shot a policeman and collected his rifle. They also shot dead an Okada man while escaping, and the passenger he was carrying was injured. The policeman was the one armed among his colleagues; they were providing security while church service was going on at Assemblies of God Church, Oguta road Onitsha.
The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr Garba Umar confirmed the incident to journalists.
He said it was not an attack on the church, adding “My men were on patrol near the church when they were attacked by some gunmen. It was not an attack on the church, in the real sense of it”.
The commissioner confirmed that the hoodlums took away a rifle belonging to the slain cop.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige had on Saturday said the Federal Government would work out modalities on how to secure places of worship in the country.
Leading a federal government delegation to commiserate with the people of Anambra State on the Ozubulu shooting, Ngige said that had become expedient following incessant attacks on places of worship.

Now at that time till now, I got so picky when it comes to going to church every Sunday because every church I went to i just wasn’t feeling comfortable. Back to the church I was talking about now y’all Remember ‘testimony’ time. Yes you do.
In that church there was sections, testimony to me meant something like testifying to the church and congregation what God has done in ya life and what you’re thankful for.
But in that church it was different. And by ‘different’ I mean there would be someone who would ask you what you’re testifying for and if it’s not up to his expectations he would ask you to go back. Then I found out only testimony about new cars, new projects approval was allowed.
You know rich people only. If you want to share a testimony about life the man will ask you to pls take a seat, once the rich people are done they would say ‘our time is out, testimonies will continue next week’…. crazy If you ask me.

New report following on going investigation of suspected kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, has revealed that he was also involved in crimes in South Africa.
Police spokesman, Mr. Moshood Jimoh, told The Nation that wealthier associates of Evans, have been uncovered during the on going investigation.
He said:
“You may recall that a Federal High Court granted us a three month remand warrant for Evans. We are just into the second month now and before the expiration of the third month, it is expected that we should be taking him to court.
The little time is to ensure that we conduct a thorough and detailed investigation. So we need a little time to properly round things up and ensure that he is properly prosecuted because Nigerians will not be happy if we lose such a case in court on the basis of technical matters.”
“In the course of this investigation we have other prime suspects including people who broke away from Evans’ gang to start their own gang – they left Evans to go and do a similar (kidnapping) business.
Some of the suspects we later picked after detectives’ interactions with Evans are even living larger than Evans. We are going to ensure that we don’t make things public until we gather all our evidence towards securing a conviction in court.
I won’t give you figures but they are many suspects. There is a special group of criminal suspects that are referred to as ‘catchers’; in criminal syndicates, they are the people that identify targets and give information about innocent people.”
Nollywood actress Ebube Nwagbo in a new interview has opened up on her career, life and more.
Excerpts:
How did you become an actress?
I went for an audition like every other person and luckily. I was picked and got the lead role.
What are you currently working on?
I have just released my second movie entitled, Not Enough. It is my second movie as a producer.
What inspired you to go into movie production?
It was the passion I have for what I do. I also thought it was time for me to spread my tentacles, try out other things and develop myself. Also, I wanted to give back to an industry that has given so much to me and made me who I am today.
What are the basic challenges you face as a producer?
There are lots of challenges one faces as a producer and they range from creativity to originality. There is also the challenge of trying to come up with something different from the norm because most people are into producing now. Besides that, funding a production is not easy because you invest a lot into the project. With the economic situation of the country now, making sales is not guaranteed. And being accepted as a producer is not that easy because it entails a lot to be a good one, it is not a joke.
What message are you trying to pass through the movie?
The movie is centered on the youths of today looking for short cuts. They want to have the shortest cut to success and accomplishments in life. We need to set our priorities right at an early stage in order to secure our future. The decisions you make today, the life you live today determines your future. The movie also sheds light on the young girls of today that get pregnant without prior planning or knowing what they really want in life, thinking that getting pregnant for a man will make him marry or love them. Love can’t be forced. The movie, Not Enough also sheds light on weak parental guidance and peer pressure. It is a family story that has a lot of messages and lessons in it.
Has it been easy to combine acting and movie production?
It has not been easy combining acting and producing but it is what I love to do. It keeps me on my feet. I try to tell stories that are not only entertaining but also educating, stories with morals to learn from and messages to pass across.
Tell us about your most challenging movie role?
Every movie comes with its own challenges because you are being someone else at every point in time. But one of the most challenging movies ever was my first film as an actress. The movie was entitled, Arrested By Love. It was my first time facing the camera and I was playing lead. I didn’t have an idea of what I was going into or what I was doing. But big thanks to the cast and crew of that amazing job. They believed in me more than I believed in myself.
What did you like about the character you played in that movie?
I loved the character I played in the movie because I was a born-again Christian who changed a bad boy to a good boy by simply being herself.
Can you go nude for a movie?
I don’t think I can do that. However, I don’t have anything against whoever can go all the way. It is you doing your job so it shouldn’t be a problem, but personally I can’t.
What part of your body do you treasure most?
I love every part of my body exactly the way God made it. I don’t treasure any more than the other.
If you were to change anything in Nollywood, what could that be?
Stereotyping. One thing I would love to change in Nollywood is stereotyping. We should learn to have diverse characterisation. We all have been guilty of being stereotyped or stereotyping.
Curvy Nollywood Actress, Mercy Johnson has revealed why she’s so crazy in love with her “saintly” husband, Prince Odi Okojie.

Erstwhile President – Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed that he wants to go to heaven and also said Christians should be prepared for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Obasanjo said on this yesterday, during the 2017 Camp Meeting Concert by Apostolic Faith Church Choir and Orchestral at the Camp Ground Igbesa in Ogun.
OBJ as he is fondly called, said he wants to go to heaven and sing with angels.
He said ;
You have to be fully prepared for the second coming of our Lord, there is no compromise. I have a friend who will always say that when we get to heaven that we will be exhausted praising God and it will be like a prison and will be very boring. But what I have seen this afternoon by the choir, I will want to go to heaven and join the hosts to sing. If this is an example of what praising God in heaven will be, then I want to be part of it. If what I have seen here is an indication of how heaven will be, I will like go to heaven. Jesus Christ came to the world to show us the way to salvation and eternal life. We have a good heritage and we have everything to be proud of.
He also emphasized that God will not come down to fix Nigeria, it is only when we invite God to our lives.
Obasanjo said;
We have a lot of things wrong with this country, if all Nigerians are sincere. Nigeria can be fixed by God but we have to invite Him into our lives. What we have to do about this country is in our hands. Gods grace abounds when we do not abuse it.
COMPULSORY uniform outfit, popularly known as Aso ebi, has been outlawed in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Petty lies, usually told at wedding engagement ceremony, have also been declared ungodly and banned forthwith.
Wife of the General Overseer of the church and Mother-in-Isreal, Pastor Folu Adeboye made these known on Saturday at the women’s meeting, which was a part of the activities of the 65th annual convention of the church themed “Halleluyah”.
She stated at the meeting that compelling members of the church to participate in Aso ebi during special programmes in local assemblies was ungodly.
The news that some members of the church without financial power to buy such uniforms, were excluded from the programmes for which the uniforms were sown, was seriously repudiated by the church leadership.
She noted that Aso ebi which should ordinarily be for the family, must not be elevated to the point of making it to overshadow the spiritual life of the congregants.
She warned that such un-Christianly act of keeping church members out of programmes because of Aso ebi, must never be heard again among the women in the church, adding that those caught would be severely sanctioned.
He stated that the concept of appearing in compulsory uniformed attire for an occasion started with the world and should not be allowed to take a firm space in the church.
She also frowned on the idea of what is seen as petty lies during Christian wedding engagement, where those conducting such events would have to engage in lies to make money from the attendees.
Pastor Adeboye explained that with God, there is no white or black lie, small or big lie, stating that when attendees are asked to bring air fare to fly in, an item already provided for at the event venue, those involved are simply engaging in ungodly act which is a sin.
She called for moderation among Christian women, saying that their focus should be bringing halleluyah and spirituality into their homes and not engaging in the ungodly acts of the unbelievers.
The 2017 convention of the church also came to a close today, with millions of worshippers gathering together on the camp along Lagos/Ibadan expressway for the week-long event.
The highlights include numerous testimonies, prophesies of turn-around and victories as well as what could be tagged harvest of babies.
As of 4pm on Friday, a total of 74 new births had been recorded on the camp, with the breakdown showing 43 boys and 31 girls.
At the Friday Holy Ghost night attended by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, thousands of babies were also brought forth for dedication.
Apart from Osinbajo, other dignitaries include Governor of Benue, Samuel Ortom, wife of Lagos State Governor, Abimbola Ambode, former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko and his wife, Kemi, Speaker Ekiti State House of Assembly, President, Living Faith Ministry, Bishop David Oyedepo, among others.

Maa Abena, a 14-year-old who got into a fight with her 13-year-old friend – Faustina Korankye over a boyfriend in the neighborhood, was beaten to death in the fight that happened at Asamang in Afigya Sekyere East Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Ghana.
In an interview with Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo, the deceased’s family member disclosed that Maa Abena was stabbed by her friend Faustina Korankye, but thanks to the efforts of doctors she survived.
However, after she got discharged she got into another fierce fight on Thursday evening with Faustina, who punched the same spot the deceased was stabbed last month with a hefty blow, sending Maa Abena to the ground writhing in severe pain.

Following his return to the big screen after taking going off the radar for a while, actor, Emeka Ike has revealed that he was actually begged by some concerned industry operators.
Explaining why he returned to acting, in a telephone chat with HVP, the actor said the producer has been on his neck for two years now after which he decided to oblige him his request.

“He has been begging me to star in his film for two years now. At a point, I decided to oblige him his request,” he said.

We all know how the media personality is against almost if not all of the spiritual leaders in the country… he makes that very clear almost daily on his Instagram page.
Few days ago, he’d published an article declaring that the prophesies of the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God, RCCG, E.A Adeboye, are all false.
The well known Cool FM broadcaster based his argument on what he referred to as “an unfulfilled prophesy” that the revered man of God made at the end of 2015 that a new killer sexually transmitted disease will emerge in 2016 and according to Freeze, this is 2017 and nothing like that has been discovered, hence his submission that Adeboye’s prophesies are nothing but fibs.
He further shared that Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose had prophesied that President Buhari’s health will fail him in 2017 and now it has happened, but Nigerians are still waiting for Adeboye’s prophesy to come to pass.
A follower of his on social media and presumably a worshiper at The Redeemed Christian Church Of God, @tofumi_omolaja chastised the broadcaster, saying
“Uncle please check well for your facts before you start spreading rubbish…a new sexually transmitted disease was discovered last year and the G.O stated that everybody unsettling Nigeria will be relocated.”
Trust the OAP to reply comments like these… in his own words,

I know some of my Igbo brothers and sisters are not happy with me simply because I have not used My Brand as Charly Boy to advocate for the clamor of The Biafran state.
However, like I always say, there is more than one way to achieve a purpose. Though I may disagree with my Igbo brothers and sisters on the choice of rhetorics and methodology, our objectives are to a large extent identical because we all want to bring an end to the marginalisation of the common peoples, by the evil cabals who are holding Nigeria to a ransom and getting away with their obnoxious impunity and criminality.
Those who truly know and have followed me know that I am not a Group soul and I have always dared to follow the path least traveled in the continuous struggle to add value to my environment.
It is indeed laughable that despite being a native chicken, Nwa afo, son of Biafran soil with a full-blown Igbotic blood, I have been persistently labeled a wannabe Yoruba, Hausa, Tiv and an Ijaw man simply because I have consistently maintained that I believe in the unity of Nigeria.
To start with, I go like tell una sey you may not be totally wrong if you call me the man from all tribes in Nigeria. This is because I believe in the oneness of all Nigerian peoples. I believe that we have gotten to a point in our national history where a Yoruba man cannot live in isolation of an Igbo man. Likewise, an Ijaw man cannot live in isolation of a Hausa/Fulani man. All tribes in Nigeria today have become a mat of interwoven fibers that cannot be segregated.
There have so far been inter-tribal marriages, intertribal business ownership, and intertribal partnership; and countless other inter-tribal collaborations and relationships in Nigeria. For this reason, my question to those agitating for secession would be that if each tribe decide to secede from Nigeria today, what then will happen? Who will lead the new nations? Will the people be happy? Will injustice be defeated in the new societies? Will criminality end in leadership positions? Will there be happiness in the new nations? Will the people finally have a country to call their own? These are important questions we must ask ourselves and provide answers to before we even start to beat the drums of secession.
Having said that, I must state that whereas I am a Biafran at heart, what should engage our minds is not a sectional Biafra but a national Biafra. The fight for nationalists who will drive the discourse and the engagement necessary in answering the Nigeria national questions must not be bogged down by petty sentiments, tribal colorations and religious propaganda. The failure of the Igbo nation and all Nigerian tribes and peoples is the fault of influence peddlers and directionless decision makers.
The crux of the Biafran agitation is that my people are tired of a system that has perpetually failed them. My Igbo kinsmen are tired of a system that enriches the rich and impoverishes the poor. My people are tired of a system that glorifies impunity and criminality. My people are tired of decades of oppression and marginalization. However, the deeply rooted disgruntlement in Biafra land is not peculiar to my Igbo brothers and sisters only; all the common peoples in the 500 tribes in Nigeria are victims of a failed system and persistent oppression. And this is essentially where I disagree with my brother Nnamdi Kanu that though Biafra is right, it should be a national cause and not a sectional one.
Let me be clear: The Charly Boy brand is not just a global brand but also a national brand that should not be reduced to a sectional brand.
The problem in this nation is not the lack of a space where we all can coexist but the lack of men of integrity and progressive nationalists. We lack the right kind of leadership that will fight for the interest of the common people. And if at all there would be an agitation, it should be geared towards sanitizing the currently bastardized Nigerian system. Our agitation for Biafra should be about having the right leaders in positions of power and not power drunken people with insatiable appetite to plunder and loot.
Therefore, my people, I insist that the suffering of the People from the South East is also the suffering of the people from the other geopolitical zones in Nigeria. And the oppression of the Igbo people is also the oppression of all Nigerian peoples. An injury to one is an injury to all. A Biafra state is not going to change the players of the game, it will only exacerbate the sufferings of the victims of the game.
In conclusion, my people, let us dutifully work ourselves back into reckoning by fighting for Fairness, Justice, and Equality for all Nigerians; not Igbos only; Yorubas only or Hausas only but all Nigerians.
