A young alleged thief simply identified as Charles was nabbed on Monday in Sapele, Delta State- the lad is said to have been stealing from residents of Shell Road and environs especially whenever they are away at schools, work and churches.
However, luck ran out on him on Monday, when he attempted to steal Laptops and Plasma television and was nabbed before he could carry out the criminal act.
Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has reacted to the claims made by the All Progressive Congress that he said that he will commit suicide if Buhari returns alive from his medical vacation.
Idowu Adelusi, Fayose’s Chief Press Secretary, yesterday denied the statement in an interview with Premium Times. Adelusi said the statement was a “creation of the All Progressives Congress, APC” in the state.
He’s quoted as saying:
“Mr. Fayose never said he would commit suicide if the President returns to the country. It is the creation of the APC. It is their style to create such falsehood. Kindly disregard this statement, as it did not emanate from Governor Fayose. It is their usual way of shifting the people’s attention from the real question Nigerians are asking, as to the whereabouts of the President. At no time was such statement made by the governor.” he said

A Truck has been reportedly set ablaze after it rammed into a commercial bus killing no fewer than nine persons at Oka market in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State.
It was reported that the driver of the bus had slowed down his vehicle to pickup some passengers going to Third junction when the truck rammed into the bus from the rear.
The driver of the truck was said to have escaped as soon as the accident occurred, while an eyewitness, Eken, said that at least six of the passengers, including the driver of the bus and Two children, died on the spot, while three others who were rushed to Akugbe hospital died later in the incident which occurred on Eguasco Street at about 6am on Tuesday.
The development was said to have angered the youths and other commercial bus drivers in the area as they took to the streets to protest the death of their colleague.
They also set the truck ablaze.

A fake blind beggar, Abdullahi Abbas, who was apprehended in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state yesterday August 21st, has confessed to making between N5,500 and N8,000 daily just by disguising as a beggar.
37-year-old Abdullahi who is always led by a 12-year-old boy (name withheld), begged for alms every day at the First Gate and Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
He was apprehended yesterday after an inquisitive resident of the area, Adeoye Baliks, engaged him in a conversation that made her raise an eyebrow. According to Vanguard, she raised an alarm and the man was examined by passersby and it was discovered that he was not blind.
When interrogated, Abdullahi who is from Oyo state, said he belongs to a group of beggars who feign various types of deformity just to get people to sympathise with them and give them money. But for the timely intervention of the vigilante group members in the area, the mob that had gather gathered were in the process of lynching him. He was rescued and then handed over to the police in Sagamu.
As condemnation continued to trail the public holiday declared by the Kogi state government over the return of President Muhammadu Buhari, the government said the holiday was to celebrate the coming back of Mr President alive.
The director general, media and publicity to the governor, Kingsley Fanwo, said the holiday also afforded the people of the state the opportunity to pray and fast for the progress of Nigeria and for Buhari to keep waxing stronger for the task ahead.
This is just as the Igala Consultative Forum on Monday condemned the decision of the Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to declare a public holiday over the return of Buhari from medical vacation.
The national secretary of the forum, Sam Ugbede, said it was surprised at the action ofthe governor.
He said, “The ill health of our president was of great concern to all Nigerians, and across all religions, and we all remained eternally grateful to God for answering our collective prayer, by granting our leader with abundant health, the Buhari we saw, we are all happy but our surprise is the declaration of public holiday by the government of Kogi state suddenly, what is it for?”
“He came back during the weekend, which is traditional public rest period, why extending it to Monday again? When Monday’s are usually busy day, we did not see any reason or meaning for such restriction.”
“The lacuna this unthinkable decision is enough to cost Kogi economy colossal amount and lives of innocent patient who are scheduled for various medical services today.”
“There is no how this accidental holiday will not cost someone somewhere in Kogi his or herlife, don’t be surprise that more lives could go.”
“We view this decision of the Kogi governor as immaturity of the highest order and uncalled for!

I discovered that during the course of our conversations, he subtly kept deviating from topics and eventually discontinuing them , I noticed he was panning out of things to say really quick.
I thought maybe it’s just a case of people who find it difficult to express themselves orally and would rather write things down, because the impression he gives on social media is that of an open minded, Intellectual.
After a short while, he suggested we leave where we were and go to a club which i refused , I told him this was just supposed to be a quick chat and not a full blown night of rowdy fun and that was what I came out for.
Moreover how are we supposed to hold a conversation in a club where music would be blaring? , he agreed and said OK.
Barely 2 minutes later, he suggested we went to another place and I said no, then he started acting uncomfortable and said he just wanted to leave where we were and I said okay then, you leave and I’ll head back to my house as initially planned.
He said no he was enjoying our conversation but he just wanted us to move to another place. So I said okay, but i don’t want Loud music and all. CNTD ���

A woman, Mrs . Omotola Akerele, has alleged that her pastor, Mathew Olakunle, had sex with her when she was undergoing spiritual healing in his church, saying the sexual activity later resulted in pregnancy.
Olakunle, who was the head of the Christ Apostolic Church , Oke Itura in Iju town, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State , was allegedly fond of praying for women in the church without their clothes on.
The 32- year – old woman, who narrated her ordeal on a programme on Adaba FM Akure , Ondo State, said it was her mother, who is a member of the church, that introduced her to the pastor when she was battling with a severe cough.
Omotola, who was an indigene of the town, narrated that as a result of the sex she had with the pastor, she got pregnant and later aborted the pregnancy without the consent of her husband.
She said , “ I had a severe cough and my mother took me to Pastor Olakunle Mathew for prayer in Iju . After praying for me , he said I needed a shaving stick and a handkerchief to perform the spiritual exercise , which I took to him.
“The pastor told me that he wanted to use my hair to perform some spiritual work that would solve my spiritual problem. On the night of that first day we got there, he asked me to take off my clothes in the presence of my mother to enable him pray for me in the mission house.
“Since that day , he has been asking me to come for deliverance and when I got there, he would ask me to remove my clothes and lie on the bed. He would lie on me Unclad and be praying for me.
“On the seventh day, he shaved the hair of my private part and my armpit hair and put the hair in the white handkerchief. After that, we had sexual intercourse and after the intercourse, he asked me to go and bury the hair in the handkerchief”
Omotola added that a month after the sexual intercourse , she was pregnant and aborted it , but her husband later got to know about it and sent her out of the house.
The pastor admitted praying for the women in the church Unclad , saying God answered prayer faster while praying Unclad.
He explained that Omotola’s case was a spiritual attack and she agreed to undergo the spiritual exercise performed on her in the church.
Olakunle, who said he had been transferred by the C. A . C to another church in Ilorin , Kwara State , however, denied having sexual intercourse with Omotola.
He also denied impregnating her but he confessed to having had sexual relationship with Omotola’s younger sister twice and had prayed for their mother too while being Unclad.
He said, “On the third day of the spiritual programme, I shaved the hair on her private part and I touched it ( her private part) with my joystick and I told her to be using my joystick to rub the entrance of her private part so that she would discharge.
“After that, I wiped the discharge of her private part with the white handkerchief and I prayed for her, using psalm 24. After the exercise, I asked her to go and bury the handkerchief in the bush.
“I asked her to call her husband to do it for her , but she refused. That was why I did it for her; but I didn’t have sex with her.”

Meanwhile, the President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday wrote to the two Chambers of the National Assembly to intimate the federal lawmakers that he has resumed work after spending 104 days outside the country.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Monday.
Adesina said the communication was in line with constitutional provision that requires Buhari to notify the lawmakers of his return.
“In compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), I write to intimate that I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, 21st August, 2017, after my medical follow-up in the United Kingdom,” he quoted Buhari as stating in the letter dated August 21.
Meanwhile, Buhari who returned to the country on Saturday to a wild jubilation from his supporters will be working from his official residence, and not his office, for now.
A Presidency source who spoke to State House correspondents on condition of anonymity attributed the development to ongoing renovation in the President’s office.
The source did not disclose how long the renovation will last.
Adesina later told reporters that the letter to the National Assembly was dispatched at few minutes after 11am.
“Yes, some few minutes past 11, the President signed the letter notifying the National Assembly of his resumption. A copy has been sent to the Senate President and a copy has been sent to the Speaker, House of Representatives, so the President has resumed,” he said.
On what his resumption meant to Nigerians, the presidential spokesman said, “it means the President they voted into office, who has been serving them and who was indisposed for some time and who came back on Saturday, is ready to continue with the work he has been doing.”
On Nigerians reaction to the President’s broadcast that his message was not explicit enough, Adesina said, “that broadcast was just one step of many steps that are going to be taken in the days and weeks and months ahead so you can’t expect that everything will be said in one day.”

A true life experience in the last 24 hours
My phone rang at 3:15 pm yesterday Saturday August 19, 2017 and it was the Pastor of our church Pastor Tope Akimbola calling me sounding down( I knew there was trouble) that one of the member of our church RCCG Glory Worship Center was locked up at IFako Police station on the charges that she found a child and the long story was while Sister Happiness was going to work on July 20, 2017 she found a child wondering by the canal in Ifako who was apparently lost and could not find her way.
The child is about 4 years old and as a good Samaritan she brought the child to church. The members and the Pastor was informed and the child was taken to Alakara Police station .
It is interesting to note that Alakara Police station has facility for children and juvenile correction center. Our church members including sister Happiness wrote statements. Our church in the past has always supported Alakara Police station and once they heard the name of the church they were very helpful.
Later on like about 2 weeks Sister Happiness in the same IFako residence heard that a child was missing and told the neighbors that she found a child two weeks ago and they should check Alakara Police station.
Long story cut short the police arrested Sister Happiness yesterday that she must know about the missing child and that she was involved and why did she not come to IFako police station in the first place. She was immediately locked up at the cell of IFako Police station since yesterday morning. Now why will citizens want to help their neighbors or the Police.
This morning our Pastor grabbed me at 7:45am in company of his Assistant Pastor Bayo Ajayi and we started working up our phones. Eventually I got to speak with the DPO of IFako Police station. That was the drama of my life.
He said why did she go to Alakara Police station and not IFako Police station? I explained to him that not everyone has education to know that the nearest police station was were to report a matter and that he will be shocked that people are scared of police and pure ignorance.
He even went micro by telling me that Sister Happiness should have shouted that…..the people around can intervene. I was disturbed that SP Smith a senior officer in the police force can think like this.
I appealed for at least 45 minutes on the phone and I even offered to see him immediately he said he is not at work and she will be charged to court on Monday and that was his final position.
At this point I started racking my brain on who can help intervene in this simple matter? I tried getting the phone no of Mr Fatai Owoseni the Lagos State Commissioner of Police but no luck.
I finally got an old friend who I had to wake up Assistant Commissioner Of Police , Kola Okunlola .Thanks to technology I had to do a three way call.
I finally connected my ACP friend with DPO IFako .Now my worry must we know someone to get things going in Nigeria?
So we started the conversation and I was shocked of the spice added by the DPO. He had full facts of the story .The ACP asked him five salient questions
1. Was he aware that Sister Happiness reported the matter to Alakara Police station he answered in affirmative
2. Did Sister Happiness take the child away or reported same day? He said same day
3. Do you know that this will discourage good people to help others in the future …….He agreed
4. What did he do to the parents that were careless by not taking care of their child? He said he arrested and released them immediately.
5. On the board at the police station where you state the person in the cell and the offence what did you state as the offence of Sister Happiness? He said Misconduct. At this point I just gave up and said under my breath that police is not just our friend.
The ACP adviced him to release Sister Happiness and get a reliable surety that will produce her anytime that she is required for investigation. That charging her was a waste of government resources.
Now the DPO IFako has requested that we all report at 8am tomorrow.
My question and worry ……what is Misconduct for a good Samaritan that saved the life of a vulnerable child?
The child was not kidnapped or kept away.
I am appealing to anyone that has contact with the Lagos Police Commissioner to help circulate this ….
I hope we will not discourage other good Samaritan s being their brothers keeper.

Ifeanyi Dike, the UNIPORT student who defiled and killed an eight-year-old girl, Victory Chikamso, has escaped from police custody.
Dike, was caught by a local vigilante in Eliozu axis of Port Harcourt and handed over to the police, escaped Sunday night as he made to dispose of the corpse.
Sources say police have begun a manhunt for the fleeing suspect.
It should be recalled that Dike removed the eyes, vagina, a finger, and tongue of his victim before he was apprehended.
Nigerian comedian, Seyi Law, has taken to his Instagram page to highlight part of the president’s early morning speech which he found wrong.
According to the 34-year-old father of one who is far from happy with President Buhari, the second and third quotes that should address the AREWA YOUTHS by is a twist and not an outright condemnation.
He wrote:
I am one of those who waited for the President’s speech and if I say I am not disappointed at some part of his speech will be an act of hypocrisy. It goes without saying that the first quote up there by the President is a reference to Nnamdi Kanu and his people and the term, irresponsible elements shows serious condemnation with a follow up reference to Late Chief Ojukwu’s visit to him.
However the second and third quotes that should address the AREWA YOUTHS by Mr. President is a twist and not an outright condemnation. This is a big GOOF from the President and can be likened to President Trump infamous line that got the America media houses ranting for days unend. The line, I rephase, there are good people on both side.
The President goofed big time on that one and he needs to do better. If the BIAFRAS are irresponsible then same goes to the AREWA YOUTHS. He should condemn them in totality and stop rubbing their egos. What legitimate concerns that are not good for both?
Mr. Kogi State Governor who declared public holiday for the Presidential return has displayed an equal act of irresponsibility as I am trying to avoid the use of the word stupidity. What is it that he is celebrating? Some people are just outrightly annoying. Unfortunately, the lazy ones in Kogi are celebrating another lazy day. Just a piece of my mind.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, has admitted that his boss could still leave the country for medical check-ups.
Adesina, speaking on Sunrise Daily on Channels TV Monday morning, however called on Nigerians to pray that Buhari remains hale and hearty.
“What Nigerians should hope for is that our president will remain whole. But if there is any reason to go out why not, you need to first stay alive before you can lead a country so whatever it takes for our president to remain healthy should be done but we want to hope and believe that the worst is over,” he said.
The President who had been in the UK for 104 days before returning on Saturday, addressed the nation on Monday and Adesina confirmed he is ready to resume office, as he will notify the National Assembly in writing.
“Later this morning, that letter will be transmitted and which is what signifies his coming back into office – It will be done today.
“They don’t have to read it or debate it, No. What the Constitution requires is for him to send it. Once it is sent he assumes office,” Adesina added.
