Do you all remember the US-Based pastor, Francis Van-Lare who went viral after he posted pictures of himself grabbing his wife boobs on his Facebook Page?

According to new findings, they are now divorced.

Amara who is a relationship coach has now changed her name to her maiden name, Amara Blessing Nwosu. She broke the news on her Facebook page and also revealed the divorce will be made official on 16th of October.

According to Amara, the divorce is for her own good and the good of her children.

“Dear Family,

I know you’ll be shocked to hear this but this is to officially let you know that reverting to my maiden name was my choice; Mr. VanLare and I will no longer be husband and wife as from the 16th of October 2017.

Don’t ask me what happened, just know it’s for my good and the good of my blessed children and if you can, please thank God for my children and I.

Keep sending in your questions and let Yahweh be glorified.

NB: Please desist from telling me what they say about me. Believe whatever you choose to believe. What matters to me is what God knows and what He says and since my family is in support of this, I am fine.

The couple got married him in 2014, six years after the wife, Amara left her first arranged marriage that had a history of domestic abuse.

A Facebook user identified as Ukan Kurugh, has written the concluding part of the story of Chinyere, who was beaten to death by her husband.

“Unfortunately for Sylvia or Chinyere as she was fondly called by family and close friends, she did not live to tell her own story. She was cut down in her prime by the man she loved till death did them part Obinna Akaleme, her husband. She died on the day she was due to give birth after series of miscarriages in her husband’s house.

Chinyere Sylvia Akaleme (nee Igbo) was born on 27 april 1981 into the family of Mr and Mrs Reginald Chiaka Igbo. The second child and 1st daughter of the family with six other siblings, Sylvia was raised in a middle-class Catholic family residing in Ajao estate, lagos where she had her nursery, primary and secondary education. She was a very bright pupil and her position in class never went below the top three. She gained admission into the university of Ilorin in Kwara state where she read electrical engineering and graduated with second class honours. She started a career in information technology and quickly got several professional qualifications including sisco into her academic profile. She started her working career with Karox computers before moving on to reliance info systems ltd where she became a product and sales manager

Her last job was with the Wini group, an Ikeja based corporation.

In 2012 she met and married Obinna Akaleme a farmer/ chef/ kitchen assistant and thus began her journey to an untimely death in the hands of the man she loved so much and catered for. She died on the on the 29th of march 2017 and she was committed to mother earth at the Ikoyi cemetery on the 19th of july 2017.

Engr sylvia is survived by her aged grandmother, her parents, siblings, uncles, aunties, nephews and nieces. May her gentle soul rest in peace, Amen.

What Happened?

Her parents and siblings never knew Chinyere endured several years of abuse in the hands of the man she called a husband. She assumed the role of a typical Nigerian wife who must always display a non-existent happiness in a marriage filled with sadness and regrets.

The only clue about what happened to her during her over five years of marriage was the account of the neighbors who narrated how on a particular night Obinna her husband beat her up and she ran to their landlords house for safety. Also the little girl who lived with her revealed that Chinyere warned her not to tell her parents that her husband used to beat her up even while she was over eight months pregnant.

That explained the reason behind the series of miscarriages she had before her last pregnancy which was full term. Her parents got worried that their daughter had about four miscarriages in less than four years decided to take her to come stay with them when she took-in after her eight month old miscarriage.

She lived peacefully with her parents and her pregnancy advanced with Chinyere in good health and high spirits anticipating the birth of her child. Unfortunately for her, on her due date, Obinna, her husband came to pick her up from her father’s house at 10 am to the hospital and as a dutiful wife she was, she obeyed him and went with him.

According to the doctor, the mother and the baby were confirmed healthy on arrival and Doctor asked her to go get her bag in preparation for delivery that evening. Obinna took Chinyere to their matrimonial home. Sadly for Chinyere, he got into an argument with her over money, beat her up so badly and left her unconscious in the house.

He left the house and switched off his phone and her phone so no one could reach them. He left her in the house and every attempt made to reach them was futile.

He later returned and took her to the hospital when he discovered she was dying at about 4.30pm and did not deem it fit to contact her parents or siblings, he did this so as not to run the risk of her coming out of coma and telling her family her ordeal at the hands of her husband, it is also worthy to note that the hospital were she died is less than a hundred metres from her parent’s house.

Obinna eventually came to her parents house around 8.30pm to tell them she had passed on. Further findings from her siblings and the doctor’s confirmation revealed that Chinyere was brought to the hospital lifeless (practically dead).

The doctor decided to do a cesarean session to try and save the baby but it was all in vain.

Chinyere’s sad story is one among millions of Nigerian women who fall victim to sexual and emotional predators because they want to be accepted by the society at large.

They hide their ordeal from the very people that can rescue them. Their families. Women nowadays? pretend that they are in happy marriages even when the obvious signs says otherwise. For how long will we keep up with this trend of pretending all is well when it obviously isn’t? Must we live a lie for societal acceptance? Let’s come together and say no to domestic violence and spousal abuse.

There are many families like Chinyere’s who wish their children had remained single and lived with them instead of getting married and killed by their partners. Enough is enough

A little baby lost her life after she fell inside a well and drowned.

According to information gathered, the baby fell into the well while playing and died some minutes later as no adult was around to rescue the baby. By the time help came, the baby had already given up the ghost.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, has arrested eight of its officials for collecting bribe from motorists and other corrupt practices.

The officials, who are attached to the Agege-Pen Cinema Office of the Agency, identified as Adebeshin Adeola, Davies Idowu, Folashade Abolade, Shittu Lanre, Akinkotu Olusoga, Olowu Said, Olaoye Peter and Adebola Said were arrested last week.

The duo of Adeshina and Davies had earlier arrested two Lagos painted commercial buses with registration numbers FKJ 770 XT and KRD 558 XM driven by one Olatunji Mayowa and Donatus Eze respectively at Abule Egba area of the State for seat belt violation.

The actions of the drivers were in violations of the Lagos State Traffic laws, and the buses were subsequently apprehended and taken to the Agege-Pen Cinema Office of the Agency.

However, the matter took a new twist at the Agege Office when the apprehending officials in conjunction with the General Duty Officer demanded for the sum of N7,200 from each of the bus drivers before the release of the buses.

The drivers, knowing the position of LASTMA on corruption and having listened to various media programmes where official complaint numbers were given, alerted the Agency and marked currency were given to the complainants and collected by the officials in a successful sting operation organized and coordinated by the Provost Marshal of the Agency, Mr Femi Ajibosho.

The Provost Marshal arrived when Abolade was about collecting N7,200 from Donatus Eze, while the collected marked money of N7,200 of Olatunji Mayowa was found on her after search.

In the same vein and at the same location, the members of the patrol team of the Agency comprising Shittu Lanre, Akinkotu Olusoga, Olowu Said, Olaoye Peter and Adebola Said also arrested a vehicle for traffic laws violation and asked Abolade to facilitate collection of bribe on their behalf from the alleged offender before the release of the vehicle.

All the traffic officials involved in this act have been released on bail, but will face the full weight of the state Public Service Rules and Regulations.

The Agency recently dismissed 20 officials for various corrupt practices and 15 others received letters of warning for various acts considered inimical to the Agency and service of the Lagos State Government.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has agreed to embark on an indefinite strike across the nation.

The union’s President, Biodun Ogunyemi, declared the strike after deliberations at its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the University of Abuja during the weekend.

A memo dated August 12, 2017, purportedly from the union, had circulated on social media claiming they would embark on an indefinite strike beginning Sunday, August 13, 2017.

The memo stated that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the Federal Government in 2014 after a 6-month strike had yet to be fully implemented.

The memo said of the N1.3tn earmarked for the Public Universities Revitalization (Needs Assessment) Fund, only N200bn has been released.

The memo continued that the union has decided, after exhausting all avenues to get the government to fully implement the 2009 FG-ASUU agreement and the 2013 MoU, to embark on a “total, comprehensive, and indefinite strike action.”

A 20-year old notorious armed robbery suspect, Ahmed Lateef, who has been on the wanted list of the Lagos State Police Command, was on Saturday arrested in Oshodi by men of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad, RRS, while returning from an all-night robbery operation in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Lateef, a.k.a ‘Ajona’ who has been on the Police wanted list since April 2017, for a robbery operation in Ejigbo area of Lagos, where two motorcycles and other personal effects were stolen by him and his gang, confessed to participating in countless robbery operations in Lagos, Oyo and Ogun States.

The suspect, who is from Oshogbo, Osun State also added that he participated in two robbery operations twice a week in the company of Enu-Ose, his other gang member.

Lateef, who is also an ex-convict disclosed that they went to Kuto area of Abeokuta, Ogun State to burgle a computer and phone retail outlet. He was arrested with a motorbike carrying the registration number of OGUN: MEK 339 WM, which he also confessed to have been stolen in Kuto, Abeokuta.

Lateef revealed that Enu-Ose, a member of his gang who is an indigene of Abeokuta, provided information to the gang about the computer dealing outlet and that he also led three other suspects to the Ejigbo robbery, where they carted away two tricycles and two motorcycles among other personal effects.

When further quizzed, the 20-year old suspect stated that for every stolen item such as jewellery, phones, motorcycles and laptops adding that there was always a ready buyer. His robbery gangs usually hire metal cutters in Mushin for N10,000 per operation.

While pleading for mercy, he listed other gang members as Noah, Segun, Lekan, Ishan – Idi, Rilwan, Shile, Ege and Jandor while two of his gang members, Seyi Adebayo (26) and Saeed Funsho (23) alongside two receivers of stolen items have been moved to Lagos State Taskforce for prosecution.

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous – Cole stated that the Command would not relent on its efforts to ensure that Lagos is not a safe haven for criminals.

The parents of twin girls conjoined at the top of their heads were told they were expecting one baby with a big head.

Twenty-nine-year-old Taslima Khatun Uno and her 28-year-old husband, Mohammad Rafiqur Islam, were shocked when they became parents to two little girls.

The couple are now facing an anxious wait to see if surgeons can separate their daughters.

Rabia and Rukia were born with the tops of their heads fused together.

And now doctors are trying to find out if the girls share a brain and blood vessels — to determine if an operation is possible.

Rabia and Rukia, who turned one on July 16 this year, are admitted at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, where medical experts are assessing their condition.

The couple are now facing an anxious wait to see if surgeons can separate their daughters.

Dr. Mohammad Ruhul Amin, chairman of paediatric surgery at the hospital, said: “Theirs is an extremely rare case of conjoined twins. They are in good health and growing at a normal pace.

“We are conducting tests, checking how they are evolving. We need to determine if the girls share the same skull, brain and blood vessels. It would be extremely difficult to operate on them.

“The babies’ heads are joined side by side. In other kids, we can see their heads are joined front to back, which creates movement problems.

“As their heads are joined side by side, it makes physical movement, such as bending the neck, easier.”

Taslima had enjoyed a healthy pregnancy, continuing to teach in the local school and look after the couples’ seven-year-old daughter Rafia.

But after several scans, Taslima and her husband were told in the eighth month that she was carrying only one child but the foetus had an enlarged head.

“The doctors thought this was because of water on the brain. I was given medicine to take for one month to try and reduce the size,” she said.

Even as she went into labour, doctors hadn’t spotted that she was carrying conjoined twins. And it took Taslima a day to learn her newborn babies’ condition.

Taslima said: “I went into labour at night and delivered them in the early morning by surgery.

“For a day, I did not see them as I was unconscious due to anaesthesia; but when I saw them I could not believe my eyes.

“My husband was unwell and had not seen them either. I did not have the courage to tell the condition of our children.

“It was very painful for me as, instead of being happy about my children, I was worried if they will survive.”

The parents had taken them to advanced hospitals in Dhaka within five days of their birth, but were told the girls were doing fine and that they would need to wait for them to grow, and monitor whether they were healthy enough to undergo such major surgery.

A week after they celebrated their first birthday, their parents brought them to hospital. But even as they have hopes pinned on the doctors, the experts are in no hurry to operate on the children.

Professor Amin says the team will wait up to two years before making a final decision on separating Rabia and Rukia.

“We are in no hurry to operate on them, as the success rate of such surgeries are very low. This is not like any other surgery,” he said.

“It is a difficult and complicated operation and will be a team effort. Also, we have no previous experience in such cases; so, we want to do thorough examination and discuss with experts to take a medical decision.

“If the need to bring experts from other countries arise, we will do that to save them.”

The decomposing body of a Female Student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa was found in her apartment.

A Student of the Prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, who was always known to mind her business, who always come in and go out of her Lodge at her own discretion has been found dead in her room after four days.

The incident occurred within the first week of August 2017 and no one including her neighbors knew of the incident until after 4 days.

After several days of absence, the lodge residents began to wonder where she might have traveled to, it was noticed that her room door had visits of huge houseflies struggling to get into the room and occasional smell of her decaying body oozing out around her apartment.

With the combined effort of the residents in the area, the door was broken down to uncover the misery of her absence and what exactly brought the flies and smell around.
