For the umpteenth time, suspected members of the Badoo gang struck at Ikorodu killing a man, his pregnant wife and two children.

They were killed at the wee hours of Monday when their Letter N Junction, Radio Area, Erunwen residence in Ikorodu was invaded.

Reports have it that, after they killed the pregnant woman, they opened her womb, and went away with her unborn baby.

One of the family members, said to be an SS3 student, who survived the attack, was said to be battling for her life at a specialist hospital (names withheld).

She was found naked and unconscious on Tuesday morning with a black cloth around her head.

It was gathered that the assailants used mortar and pestle to smash their victims’ heads.

Condemning the killings, Coordinator, Ikorodu Ambassadors, Rasheed Fatuga said the Badoo issue must be addressed urgently.

He decried the passive manner the issue has been handled, calling on the police, government, traditional and other institutions to act fast before it got out of hands.

He said:

“How long will this continue, what is their mission and purpose? Why kill families? What for? What gain? So sad!

“A kitchen mortar is a device used to prepare ingredients or substances by crushing and grinding them. It is shocking and sad to see that Badoo gang hasn’t been neutralised.

“What happens in a community where constituted authorities cannot provide security of lives and properties? What is the function of the Ikorodu Police Divisions when they cannot give us peace of mind?

“What is the essence of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad patrolling Ikorodu 24/7 looking for only Yahoo-Boys up and down?

“And where are the Ikorodu Youths, that are supposed to take the Badoo issue as their priority, talk about it on social media every time, forward the news to the Lagos State Government’s platforms, stand up against these negligible acts? They are nowhere to be found.

“Instead, they are busy carrying posters of politicians on their heads, politicians/leaders that are responsible for all this suffering in the first place.

“Kudos to the Vigilante Group of Ikorodu, they have been awesome, but they cannot do it all. They don’t have the resources. We need to re-orientate and equip them.

“We use this opportunity to call on our community, religious and political leaders to neutralise this ugly situation as soon as possible.

“Also we are calling on Ikorodu indigenes/ambassadors all over the world, muslim community, christian associations, traditional worshippers, market men, women and all mothers in Ikorodu to stand up now. Remember, POSTERITY is watching you all!”

Continuing, Fatuga said the murderous gang usually explored easy access, houses without burglary proofs and isolated.

He said:

“The Badoo gang usually looks for easy access. They look for houses without burglary proofs, incomplete, areas where there are few houses, so that even when victims scream for help in distress, they get none.

“It hasn’t been easy identifying and detecting the notorious gang because they don’t carry weapons on them when walking. They depend and use sharp objects and equipment that can hurt victims to do their damages.

“Always challenge and report any suspicious person(s)/activities around your environment to your landlord or Community Development Association (CDA), then they can report to the necessary authorities.

“If you notice any stranger(s) parading around your house/area, call on your neighbours, approach them politely, ask questions, then call on elders, landlord or CDA representatives to intervene and hinder necessary actions.”

Contacted, the command’s spokesman, Olarinde Famous-Cole, an Assistant Superintendent (ASP) said investigation was ongoing to arrest the culprits.

A Nigerian man has shared details on Facebook about how an ATM he used today, 1st June dispensed N5 note as a N500 note.

My personal experience today, Thursday, 1st June,2017.

I used my card at a GTB ATM this morning to draw some cash and to my amazement, a N5 note was pushed out alongside N500 notes to make up my total drawn amount.

I felt embarrassed seeing this and complained to the customer service / Manager. It was resolved after wasting my time to establish that it really happened.

My advice, always check your cash before leaving ATM and once notice such, use your phone to snap it as an evidence.

This man pictured above is 42 years old, he was been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly defiling his neighbors two under-aged girls, 4, 7 at the same time on several occasions after luring them with Bobo drinks to his apartment.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 5 Salako street in Oko- Oba area in the suburb of Lagos where both the suspect and victims parents reside.

According to Police sources, the Kano state-born who is a butcher usually return early to their house after he finished killing cows at abattoir. While he was at home, he would lure the victims into his apartments with Bobo drinks when their parents were not around and defiled them.

This has been going on without the victims informing their parents until the recent assault on the victims, a police source revealed.

Umar’s abominable act was exposed when the mother of the 7-year old victim took her to the bathroom to bath her. It was gathered that when the mother attempted to wash her private, she started crying and complained she was feeling pains following the alleged defilement.

According to the 7-year old victim, “Umah lured us into his room and gave us Bobo thereafter, he removed his clothes and our pants and clothes too and carried us to his bed where he will be putting his penis into our vagina.’

Thier angry mother after checking her daughter’s private saw bruises which indicated that something had gone wrong reported the matter to the Police and Umah was arrested and charged to court.

Appearing before Magistrate, Mrs. Davis Abegunde he pleaded not guilty and informed the court that his wife was not living with him.

He was granted bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum. Umah was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

Reports from Plateau claims that a married female member of the National Youth Service Corps in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State has been dismissed after she was caught having intercourse with a male corps member inside a gutter.

Sources who spoke to Inside Plateau reports that two corpers were caught red-handed by the security men in the camp located in Mairana village of the LGA and while pleading for mercy, she reportedly claimed that the biting cold in the area led her to the unholy act.

The randy corps members were among those recently sworn-in for the Batch A, Stream 1, for the compulsory one-year national service.

Nigerian government has announced the enforcement of ban on sale of cigarettes to persons under 18 years in Nigeria.

The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, who made the announcement on Wednesday in Abuja at a briefing to mark the World No Tobacco Day, lamented a report by World Health Organisation (WHO) that over 4.5 million Nigerian adults are addicted to smoking tobacco substances.

The minister called for the immediate implementation and enforcement of key sections of the 2015 National Tobacco Control (NTC) Act.

His words: “Having carefully analysed the NTC Act 2015, I wish to announce with high sense of responsibility that government will begin implementing the following provisions;” Adewole said, as he listed the actions to be implemented as follows;

“Prohibition of sale of tobacco products to and by anyone below 18; ban of sale of cigarettes in single sticks. Cigarettes must be sold in packs of 20 sticks only; and smokeless tobacco shall be sold in a minimum of a pack of 30 grams.

“Ban of sale or offer for sale or distribution of tobacco or tobacco products through mail, internet or other online device; prohibition of interference of tobacco industry in public health and related issues; and Prohibition of smoking in anywhere on the premises of a child care facility; educational facility; and health care facility.

“Other prohibited places for smoking include playgrounds; amusement parks; plazas; public parks; stadium, public transports, restaurants, bars, or other public gathering spaces.”

The minister also directed the “prosecution of owner or manager of any of the places listed above, who permits, encourages or fails to stop smoking in the above listed places; prohibition of tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship of any kind; and compliance with specified standard for content as set out by Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).

Adewole said the country is currently exploring using tobacco tax and levies as means of financing the Universal Health Coverage agenda of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

“Increasing taxes and levies on tobacco products can reduce its consumption and generate revenue which can be used to finance universal health coverage and other developmental health programme,” he said.

Speaking, country representative of the WHO, Wondi Alemu noted that tobacco use is one of the leading predisposing factors for non-communicable diseases in the country.

A Ghanaian woman, Joyce Antwi, has been arrested by Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti Region for hiring a man to kill her business partner in Kumasi.

The 41-year-old who resides in Buokrom Estate, trades in plywood alongside her intended victim at Akwatia Line, a suburb of Kumasi.

In October 2015, she promised to pay back a loan of GH¢99,000 she collected from the victim to fund her business until the victim in April 2017, approached the suspect and gave her a June 2017 deadline to settle the amount.

According to the police, The suspect agreed to pay back the money by the stated deadline as the victim wanted to invest the money in her business since life was becoming difficult for her.

On Tuesday,  May 23, 2017, the suspect allegedly approached the complainant and contracted him to murder the victim for a fee of GH¢5000.

The complaint agreed to the offer and was given a part payment of GH¢2,500, promising to provide the balance after the job was executed.

On Friday  May 26, 2017, Joyce picked the complainant to the residence of the victim at Buokrom Estate since her husband and children were not present at the time.

The complainant then alerted the police who on Saturday  May 27, 2017 went to the victim’s residence and asked her to invite the suspect over.

The suspect was arrested two hours later when she showed up.

The Ashanti regional police commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah, while addressing a news conference said the suspect is in police custody assisting with investigations and will soon be prosecuted.

He said:

On Friday, 26th of May, the suspect, Joyce Antwi, took the complainant to the house of the victim at Buokrom Estate to show him the house,

“On the 27th of May went to the victim’s residence and asked her to call the suspect to come to her residence which she obliged, and she was arrested,”

Joyce confessed in her caution statement of contracting the complainant to commit the act.

Notorious Cult Group, Badoo, allegedly killed a family of five including a pregnant woman at Itamaga behind radio in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

Reports are that the cult members killed the pregnant woman, opened up her womb and went away with her fetus on the early hours of Sunday, 28th of May.

They are known for using a grounding stone to attack their victims and have been behind the killing of families in this area for the last two months.

A 12-year-old young & homeless Nigerian girl, gave birth to a baby girl by a dumpster and gave her the name, Miracle.

The mother, who is said to be homeless and lives on the street, made shelter by a dumpsite which is for recycling bottles, and safely delivered her daughter, Miracle.

According to Child’s Right and Rehabilitation Network (CRARN), a charity organization in Nigeria:

“The girl’s only shelter is a dumpster at a dump side meant for collecting recycles, such as cans, aluminum, coppers and used plastic bottles. They had a naming ceremony and the child was named Miracle.”

Both the mother and child are doing well.

UK-based Nigerian Doctor, Chizoba Christopher Uzoh, who worked as a locum GP at Murdishaw Health Centre in Runcorn, has been reportedly banned for 12 months for pestering one of his female patients with romantic messages and sending flowers to her home.

In one of the letters and flowers he sent to her, he said he feels like a school boy meeting a girl he fancied for the first time and hoped it would be possible to marry her someday.

He wrote:

“I saw you and I liked you and thought maybe we could go on a date.“I am single and looking for a serious relationship and not intending to mess about.”

“I’ve been feeling like a school boy meeting a girl he fancied for the first time. I haven’t felt this way in a while.”

“I hope it would be possible to make you mine someday.”

“My heart is pure, I care, I hope it would be possible to make you mine someday.”

“How is it possible that a good-looking guy who is a doctor, who has a job with huge earning potential waiting for him in Toronto, who was the best graduating medical doctor in his medical school, who started out as a urological surgeon with several well-cited scientific publications before he decided to be a GP for personal reasons, who thinks you beautiful and special wants you and you wouldn’t give him a chance?

“I’ve been in Toronto sorting things out and I couldn’t stop thinking of you.”

She then replied:

“I just feel like your being too full on, I’ve only met you once and I was your patient!”

“Hey! Look as flattered as I was at the start that you took an interest and was happy to chat and get to know you, it all got too much too quick.

“It was one thing getting my number through my medical records, but I feel you went too far with getting my address without my permission and I will be honest it’s scared me a little, because I do not give anyone my address for my own safety and the thought of someone being able to get it so easily when I have put my trust in a doctor is unnerving…”

After a five-day hearing in Manchester, The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service then claimed that his conduct was “sexually motivated” during his text messages, voice mails, spree of phone calls,  and posts to her home address and was found unsuitable to practice.

The tribunal decided it was sufficient punishment to suspend his registration for 12 months after the General Medical Council called for Dr Uzoh to be removed.

A spokesperson, on behalf of NHS Halton CCG and Murdishaw Health Centre, said:

“Patient safety is paramount to us and all patient complaints are taken extremely seriously; as soon as Murdishaw Health Centre received this complaint we took immediate and appropriate action.

“The locum GP was suspended from all duties which brought him into contact with patients and we reported the complaint to NHS England for investigation.”

Mgr Jean Marie Benoît Balla, the Archbishop of Bafia, Cameroon, allegedly commits suicide in the Sanaga River around the Ebebda Bridge, Cameroon.

His land cruiser jeep with registration plate number CE 9503V was found on the Ebebda bridge yesterday afternoon at about 90km from Yaounde with a note, ID card, driving license and car documents placed on the seats.

Yesterday Night, some masquerades attacked some praying Muslims at the central mosque in Ikun Ekiti community in Ekiti state.

According to eyewitnesses from the community, the masquerades were annoyed that the Muslims called for prayers while they were celebrating their own festival, an act they claim is prohibited by their tradition.

Men of the Nigerian Police force were called to intervene, and they came just in time to avert a clash between the Muslims and the traditional worshipers.

About five of the worshippers were said to have sustained varying degrees of injury. The hoodlums also vandalised two cars parked at the mosque’s premises.

The Imam of the Mosque, Alhaji Abdul-Rasak Abubakar-Bello, who was rushed to the Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, received stitches on his head. Speaking from his hospital bed, he told Vanguard that the Muslims were held hostage in the mosque for four hours by the masquerades, who threatened to kill them.

“There was no way we could escape because they were waiting for us outside after initially attacking us inside the mosque with iron rods and woods. When we succeeded in locking ourselves inside the mosque, they started throwing stones at us.”

In 2015, a Nigerian man, Chukwuma Austin Dike shocked Nigerians and swore to convert to Islam from Christianity if Buhari wins the election and gets sworn in as the President.

A luxury Hermes handbag shattered the world auction record in Hong Kong on Wednesday, fetching an eye-popping $380,000.

The auction house didn’t identify the buyer of the matte white “Himalaya” crocodile skin Hermes Birkin bag.

The handbag was produced in 2014 and has 18 karat gold buckles and strap loops encrusted with 205 diamonds.

It fetched 2.94 million Hong Kong dollars ($380,000), which Christie’s says is a record for any handbag sold at auction.

The price flew past the presale estimate of HK 1.5 million to 2 million ($193,000-$258,000) during 10 to 15 minutes of intense bidding in the auction room and from phone and online buyers, Christie’s spokeswoman Gigi Ho said.

The price surpasses the record set a year ago when Christie’s auctioned a similar Birkin bag for $300,000. It had identical specifications but was produced in 2008.

Christie’s says Himalaya Birkins get their name from the bag’s color, which fades from smoky gray to pearly white, evoking comparisons with the mountain range.

The company says they’re exceptionally rare, with only one or two believed to be made each year because of a time-consuming process to dye the crocodile skin.

The highly coveted bag was created in 1984 by French luxury label Hermes in honor of British singer and actress Jane Birkin. It’s famous for a stratospheric price tag, celebrity owners and a years-long waiting list.
