A Nigerian pastor has stirred controversy on social media after his sermon, which connected wealth accumulation to paying tithes.
During a church service, he promised that anybody who sows seeds and pays their tithe will undoubtedly become a billionaire.
He chastised Christians who fail to pay their tithes, comparing it to stealing. According to the clergyman, failing to pay tithes is tantamount to robbing God and hence qualifies as theft.
In his words,
“If you’re not paying your tithe, you’re a thief and you have robbed God. You sow seed and you pay your tithe.
That power of tithe will come, the power of the seed will join together and you become a billionaire. People would be coming to borrow money from your hand. People would be crying but it’s not for you.”

In a shocking incident that unfolded in Igbere, Abia State, a 35-year-old man known as “Yellow” was apprehended by an enraged mob for allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl inside a room.
The suspect, who was brutally beaten by the angry villagers, confessed to the crime, revealing that he lured the innocent child with groundnuts.
Begging for forgiveness, “Yellow” claimed that he was influenced by the “Devil” to commit this heinous act, attributing his heightened desires to the chilling weather brought about by the rain.
According to his account, he was sitting with friends, enjoying groundnuts, when he entered the building to retrieve something.
It was there that he encountered the young girl and offered her some groundnut seeds, leading her to follow him inside, where the assault took place.
The assaulted child was quickly rushed to the hospital by her family for immediate medical attention.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old rapist was handed over to local security personnel who will subsequently transfer him to the police for a comprehensive investigation.
This incident comes merely four months after another appalling case in Umuahia, where a 37-year-old man named Chiemela Ekeke was sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape of a 4-year-old girl.
As of now, the Abia State Police Command has not officially acknowledged the incident. Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, for a statement have been unsuccessful.
The community eagerly awaits justice for the young victim.
Professional British-Nigerian boxer, Anthony Joshua, has revealed why he still lives with his mother, Yeta Odusanya, at the age of 34.
This comes after he moved back into his mother’s two-bedroom ex-council house in 2017 after earning a whooping £15 million from defeating Wladimir Klitschko, beating Robert Helenius in August, and currently preparing for his next fight in 2024.

Nigerian actress, Doris Ogala, has taken to social media to call out her colleague, Uche Elendu, for taking a married woman to court over her late husband’s property.
Doris shared a photo of the court document in which Uche’s lawyers claimed that she was also married to the deceased and deserves to have a say in how his property is shared.
In the post, Doris heavily criticized Uche for fighting with the woman, who reportedly shares five children with her late husband and got married to him in 2004, over his property, especially his estates in Lagos.

After 149 days in detention, Former Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefielehas finally been produced in court today, Wednesday 8th November 2023, for a hearing on his bail application.
Dressed in a yellow kaftan and cap, Emefiele arrived flanked by EFCC operatives at 12:30pm.
Last week, Justice Olukayode Adeniyi had ordered Emefiele’s release or for him to be brought to court for the bail hearing.
The EFCC had failed to comply with the order of the FHC directing it to produce Emefiele in court on Monday or release him unconditionally.
Following the disobedience by the commission, the court restated its order and adjourned proceedings till Wednesday.
However, the EFCC complied with the order as Emefiele was led into the court by heavily armed operatives.
This follows months of custody by security agencies, with formal charges now being presented.
Emefiele faces accusations of financial crimes during his tenure as CBN Governor from 2014 to 2022.
He has been in detention since June 10, charged with procurement fraud. However, his trial has stalled since August when the Department of State Services failed to present him in court to enter a plea.

The National Industrial Court in Abuja, on March 31st, 2023, delivered a judgment by Justice Ayodele Obaseki Osaghae ordering the immediate reinstatement of Mrs. Victoria Ayantuga, an Assistant General Manager at the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), who was wrongfully dismissed from the organization. Mrs. Ayantuga, along with some of her colleagues, had their employment unlawfully terminated in a highly publicized manner via newspapers on June 1st, 2021.
This wrongful suspension and dismissal led to a protracted legal battle, culminating in a judgment that favored Mrs. Ayantuga. The court declared the actions of the NSITF Management Board and the former Minister of Labor & Employment, Chris Ngige, as “unlawful, illegal, null and void, and of no effect whatsoever” in accordance with the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund Act and Staff Conditions of Service. The court’s order set aside the dismissal.
This judgment was rendered in a suit marked NICN/ABJ/223/2021, initiated on August 27th, 2021, by Mrs. Ayantuga to challenge her dismissal from the federal government agency. Justice Obaseki, in her ruling, emphasized that the facts presented by the claimant in the supporting affidavit were unchallenged by the defendants, thus accepted and acted upon by the court.
The court’s judgment, delivered on March 31st, 2023, was comprehensive and left no room for ambiguity. It directed Mrs. Ayantuga’s immediate reinstatement and the payment of all outstanding salaries, increments, and allowances dating back to her suspension in July 2020. The judgment, as outlined in the official document available on the National Industrial Court of Nigeria’s website, included several key declarations:
Employment Status: The court affirmed the validity of Mrs. Ayantuga’s employment with the NSITF and her entitlement to all remuneration and entitlements.
Immediate Reinstatement: The court ordered the immediate reinstatement of Mrs. Victoria Ayantuga to her position at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, with no loss of seniority, rank, or grade level. She was to be placed in the position of Deputy General Manager she would have held if her employment had not been illegally terminated.
Payment of Salaries and Allowances: NSITF was instructed to promptly pay Mrs. Ayantuga all her outstanding salaries, increments, and allowances from the date of her suspension in July 2020 until the execution of the court’s order.
Costs Awarded: In addition to the above, the court ordered the payment of costs of action amounting to N500,000.00 in favor of Mrs. Ayantuga.
Despite the court’s clear directives, subsequent efforts to fully comply with the judgment, including Mrs. Ayantuga’s complete reinstatement to her position, payment of outstanding salaries, preservation of her rank and seniority, and payment of the cost of action, have not been implemented. Legal representatives have corresponded with the relevant offices to ensure compliance with both the court order and the Minister’s directives.
The Minister of Labor & Employment, Rt. Honourable Simon Lalong, intervened to uphold the rule of law and ensure justice was served. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to adhering to the rule of law and not allowing any organization or government institution to disregard court orders.
Mrs. Ayantuga’s wrongful dismissal, despite her outstanding contributions and special promotion, was deemed unacceptable by the court, which cited international labor standards in support of its decision.

“Will we see you reattempt one day?!” they asked.
Their question, however, did not sit well with Mercy Eke, as she fired back at them, stating that Hilda Baci is not going to re-attempt.
She quoted the Guinness World Record tweet and wrote “NO!!! She’s done and dusted.”Her reply quickly gained the attention of many, based on her huge following and popularity.

A lady whose identity is still unknown has reportedly murdered her friend during an argument in their apartment in Dubai, UAE.
The video which was shared on the microblogging platform X formerly known as Twitter by a user @obaofph01 was a horrific accident.
In the video, two ladies were seen arguing in an apartment, with one of them holding a knife. The deceased had tried to intervene and settle the dispute but met her end when the lady in possession of the knife slit her arm with it.
After the incident, the victim was heard telling the other ladies in the apartment to look at what the lady had done to her, while threatening to call the police.
As the victim was bleeding profusely, the other ladies in the apartment were seen scrambling around, contemplating whether or not to administer first aid. Having lost too much blood and left unattended, another video recorded the victim lying lifeless in a pool of her own blood.
