The JAMB Direct Entry 2017 will begin on the 10th of July 2017.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will begin the sale of the 2017 Direct Entry forms and registration of foreign candidates on July 10.
JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, Fabian Benjamin, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bwari, FCT, on Monday.
Mr. Benjamin said the process of registration for the Direct Entry was spelt out in the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
He said candidates for Direct Entry were expected to have Advanced Level, Diploma or its equivalent, while foreign candidates must possess proof of residency abroad.
“For the foreign candidates to be eligible to write examination in a foreign centre, you must have stayed in the foreign country for at least a minimum of six months.
“You must have schooled there, you must have had your secondary education there; you must show evidence of having stayed there for period of six months.
“If you have stayed in Nigeria and just fly to London to register, you are not eligible; you must have schooled or had your secondary education outside the country.
“Not that you just finished Senior Secondary Certificate Examination in 2016, and you are rushing to the United Kingdom to go and write your examination,” Mr. Benjamin said.
He noted that measures had been put in place to ensure that candidates who wrote the previous examination and failed were not registered in foreign countries, unless they meet the guideline.
Mr. Benjamin explained that the Direct Entry would be sold at the same price previously pegged at N5,000, adding that the Board was yet to fix the price for application for foreign candidates.
“We are discussing on that, we are looking at selling the forms at $100 (N31,525.00) for Africans and $150 (N47,287.50) for non-Africans,” he said.
He said that the JAMB Direct Entry was mainly for people who already possessed a diploma certificate and wished to do a programme in the university.

A 19-year-old man accused of beating his 16-month-old daughter within an inch of her life never wanted the girl to be born at all, reports say.
Based on his Facebook posts, the teen dad from Brooklyn, New York had never pretended that he wanted a child from his girlfriend and mother of his first baby, 17-year-old Tammy Lewis.
Shaquan Taylor once wrote about his then girlfriend’s pregnancy ;
“Feel mad disrespected.” That was February 2016 around the time his daughter Nylah Lewis was born
“Told that lil b—h to get abortion (and) she tells me she is but still keep it. Exactly why I hate that lil b—h,”
He complained frequently via Facebook about his troubled relationship with the baby’s mother, Tammy.
“I didn’t even want to have a baby by her (and) it’s sad to say, but f— it, s— happens,” he wrote in February 2016.
“Please, don’t ask who Nylah’s mom is, nor do I still f— with her cause NO. Just f—-d (that) hotty a–, that’s it.
“She really getting me aggy (agitated)”.
Despite the long-lingering animosity, though, the dueling parents agreed that Taylor could spend some time with his daughter on Father’s Day, and that was when he used the opportunity to vent his frustrations on his 16-month-old daughter.
Taylor was alone with his daughter when 17-year-old Tammy Lewis received a Facebook message telling her there was a problem with Nylah and she needed to come to the apartment.
The critically injured child was fighting for breath when the mother arrived, and Tammy grabbed the girl and stormed out of the apartment.
It was reported that said Taylor chased the pair down to the lobby, where he flattened the mother with a single punch as she clutched their little girl.
An emergency service crew arrived and grabbed Nylah, rushing the girl to the hospital as Taylor continued to chase and beat the teenage mother.
The helpless child remained in critical condition for three days after the Father’s Day beatdown that left her with multiple skull fractures, bleeding on the brain and a black eye.
At a point, Nylah needed a blood transfusion and officials feared the battered child wouldn’t survive the attack, but she fought on.
Taylor denied beating his daughter, initially claiming she fell off the bed. He later changed his story to say she fell off the toilet.
Either way, investigators said, none of the girl’s injuries were consistent with a fall.
It was also revealed that Taylor’s new girlfriend is currently pregnant for him.
Taylor remained held on $250,000 bail on Tuesday, June 27, when he marked his 19th birthday behind bars.
His Daughter, Nylah fought for her life for five days after the horrific assault, but sadly she gave up on Friday, June 23, and she was buried on Saturday, July 1.

In a recent interview on ‘The Adwen’ show on e.TV Ghana, controversial Ghanaian singer, Wanlov the Kubolor, has revealed that he can’t go a week without sex but if he has no woman around him he satisfies himself by masturbating.
The 36-year old musician who was born to a Ghanaian father and Romanian mother is widely known for his explicit songs and sharing of his nude photos.

Another suspected member of the Notorious Badoo cult group has been apprehended inside a building occupied by an old woman at the back of Access bank in Ikorodu, Lagos, this morning.
His bag was searched and among the items found in it was a bottle of black oil, four atm cards.
When interrogated, he could not explain how he got into the building.
According to reports, the suspect’s mother even came to the area as she confirmed the boy to be a bad boy. She reportedly showed people where she was injured due to cutlass attack from the young man.
A Facebook user, Omolaja Dax, who shared these photos, said confirmed that he was caught few hours ago at the back of Access bank in Ikorodu Benson area of Lags.

A Facebook user, Zion Oshiobugie, has taken to his page to reveal that he will be marrying his ex-student, Elohor Omohiro, who once came to his learning center to buy JAMB form in 2012.
According to him, they’ve been through a lot, and have kept their relationship going for many years.

I have been teaching since 2008. The job is challenging, mind bugging and mentally demanding, as such you may not have time for yourself.
Fast forward to 2012 a student came to my leaning center to buy JAMB form and it sparked a very great relationship which lasted for years, ups and downs but then this student did a one year internship with me before gaining admission into ekpoma, (ambrose Ali University). She had passion, she had similar dreams to help students most of all she made sure we hit our goals every single time she came back from school.
She was so dedicate to the business that we grew from one learning center to three learning centers in less than 3 years.
We all have various reasons why we get married but for me I am getting married to my student who has been there for me through thick and thin, hard times, sad times, depressing times to say the least.

A Nasarawa State-born couple, Shedrack and Mercy Audu are currently devastated after their twin children died in a fatal accident on Monday, April 17, while on their way to Makurdi, Benue State.
Apparently, these couple have been childless for 17 years, and when they finally got the fruit of the womb, they gave birth to a set of twins on 7th of November, 2016, a boy and a girl.
The children were christened Joseph and Philomena, but 5 months later, the twins were killed in an accident.
Speaking to Sunday Sun, Shedrack, a lecturer at Nasarawa State Polytechnic said they went to Makurdi, on the invitation of his bosom friend, Fidelis Mbaka, to show him their bundles of joy.
On that fateful day, the couple set out with the babies at about 10.30am aboard a commuter vehicle, which took off from the Lafia motor park en-route Makurdi.
A 911 vehicle loaded with yam coming from the opposite direction rammed into their vehicle while manouvring off a crater, killing seven persons on the spot including the 5-month old twin babies. Among the dead were the driver and four other passengers aboard the Toyota car in which Shedrack was travelling with his family.
The couple, who were the only survivors were rescued and rushed to the General Hospital, Daudu, where they were revived and placed on intensive care for one week, before being transferred to the Dalhatu Specialist Hospital, Lafia, Nasarawa State capital. They were recently certified fit and discharged.
“My brother, life is worthless and meaningless to me now; I have surrendered my life to God. I am 50 years old while my wife is 42; we have allowed God to do His wish”, says Shedrack, as he told the story of his battle with childlessness before a breakthrough, but the joy was short-lived.
“My twins were born on November 7, 2016, and they died on April 17, 2017. I met my wife who is of Eggon extraction from Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, in 1998 at the University of Jos where I was studying for my Master’s degree in Business Management; she was a student in the Theatre Arts department. We dated for a year and got married. Three years after our marriage, there was no pregnancy and we became worried; we visited Dalhatu Specialist Hospital for medical checkup and after a detailed examination, it was discovered that she did an abortion in 1997 through a quack doctor, which affected her womb.
“From that time till 2016, we were in and out of the hospital trying to see how she could conceive to no avail. We were initially afraid that once she reached menopause, it would be a big problem; she suggested we go for in-vitro fertilization (IVF-test tube) where the eggs and sperm are fertilized outside the womb into test tube, but I disagreed. We remained faithful to God until February 2016, when she conceived naturally and delivered through caesarian operation. We were extremely happy, but God has taken them away”, he lamented.
Shedrack, who hails from Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, also gave graphic details of the fatal crash, which claimed his babies.
“As we were approaching Daudu in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, a fully loaded 911 truck was dodging a pothole at the time our car was also negotiating to dodge it; the truck rammed into our car. My wife was carrying our female baby, Philomina, while I lapped the male, Joseph; they died instantly as they were badly hit by fragments of the crushed car; the driver and four other passengers also died on the spot, while my wife and I sustained injuries. We were taken to the Daudu General Hospital unconscious, but my twin babies who died instantly were taken to Lafia and buried by my younger brother who was contacted through my telephone”.

Facts emerged at the weekend as to why end may not be in sight to the menace of Badoo cult group in Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The group, according to a top security source, sells the handkerchief, which the terror group use to clean the blood of their victims, for a whooping N500,000 to some highly placed Nigerians.
“We heard they sell one handkerchief containing the blood of their victims for N500,000 to highly placed Nigerians. The police must urgently investigate this lead in order to put an end to this menace, so that residents can sleep with two eyes closed in Ikorodu.”
The police, which is now investigating the veracity of that information, engaged in joint operations with the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Department of State Services (DSS), Lagos State Task Force, the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) and local vigilance groups to raid the dreaded group’s black spots at Igbobo/Bayeku, Ibeshe, Ijede and Imota at the weekend.
This came few days after a closed-door emergency stakeholders meeting was held between officials of the Lagos State police command and National Leader of the OPC, Otunba Gani Adams, with leaders of other vigilance groups over the security challenge in Ikorodu.
The operation was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of Operations, Edgal Imohinmi, with over 100 suspected members of the cult group arrested during the raid.
There was a brief meeting with the security agencies and local vigilance groups at Ipakodo division before the raid took off from Ibeshe, where majority of the suspects were arrested.
An OPC member, Mr. Abiodun Akerejola, a.k.a. Ojolebua, who spoke to crime reporters, said the raid was a welcome development.
“The issue of Badoo and other cult activities in Ikorodu and environs should give everyone some concern and not only the police. We do not know the next family or person they may attacked,” Akerejola said.
Mr. Balogun Moses, a resident in one of the communities, said:
“If the raid is maintained on a regular basis, crime rate would be drastically reduced. We commend the effort of all the security agencies and local vigilance groups, who know the terrain. Everyone can have some respite now. For the past eight months, Ikorodu was on the news daily for negative stories.”
Meanwhile, angry residents went berserk in the early hours of yesterday, lynching three suspected members of the Badoo cult in Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
The suspects were caught around 2a.m. in an SUV and were flagged down by residents who were doing stop and search around Odogunyan junction. It was gathered that a big stone, diesel and a cutlass were found in the vehicle.
The suspects reportedly could not offer any explanation as to what they used the objects for and where they were heading. They were subsequently beaten up and burnt to death together with the vehicle.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the incident, urging residents to desist from jungle justice.
The PPRO confirmed that over 100 Badoo suspects had been arrested across Ikorodu, adding that investigations were ongoing to screen out innocent persons among them.
He said: “We can confirm the arrest of 100 suspected members of the dreaded cult group, and they are helping with ongoing investigation into the activities of the gang. Government is on top of the situation and we like to use this medium to caution the people to desist from jungle justice.
“We also like to assure residents that they are free to go about their normal activities without let or hindrance, as the police and other security agencies in the state are poised to make Lagos uncomfortable and hot for criminal elements to perpetrate their nefarious activities.”
Also, it was reported that in another incident, a heroic dog prevented suspected Badoo members from carrying out an attack in Ikorodu yesterday.
According to a resident of the area, who shared the story on his social media page and posted images of a wounded dog, he wrote:
“In spite of the recent raids, let’s be vigilant. Badoo deadly group are still at work. Around 1a.m. on Sunday, they wanted to enter a house in my area at Ojogbe, but their dog stopped them by barking loudly.
“In frustration, they stabbed the dog. Am not sure the dog is going to survive the stabbing because it has been bleeding seriously all day. May God continue to guide and protect us. At this stage, it is only God that can help us in Ikorodu.”
Despite the declaration of traditional rituals by Ikorodu chiefs and traditionalists on Friday to halt the activities of the killer gang, they stormed the Jumofak area of Igbo-Oluwo in Ikorodu around 1a.m.
This time, the gang of three ran out of luck as local vigilance team arrived the scene as they were trying to break into one apartment near a gas station in the area.
The vigilance team, however, apprehended one of the suspects while the other two took to their heels.
Eyewitnesses’ account said the trio were naked and rubbed their bodies with engine oil but it could not be ascertained if they were in possession of objects like hammers, white handkerchiefs and grinding stones that the gang was noted for.

We were beyond shocked to receive a call from a source who narrated How his friend, an MC and comedian, who was among the three suspects were burnt to death at Odogunyan yesterday morning… This is someone we know!
Identifed as Chinedu Paul a.k.a. MC Think Twice, he was mistaken to be a badoo member and was immediately lynched and burnt to death alongside two others.
Our source, who narrated the story to us revealed that Chinedu’s car broke down at Odogunyan area of recent, and then he went at midnight with two others, to tow his car from the Odogunyan area, when they were accosted by an angry mob..
Apparently, the mob claimed they found Engine Oil, Cutlass and a grinding stone in the car.. and they descended on them.. and burnt them with the car.. Now the question is, where’s the grinding stone this mob claimed they found?
This is just sad!

Billionaire Kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans, has denied suing the Nigeria Police over an alleged “Illegal detention”.
Evans has expressed shock over reports that he dragged the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, and the Nigeria Police to the court.
A Lagos-based lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, had on Wednesday last week filed a suit on behalf of Evans, claiming that the suspect’s continued detention was an infringement on his fundamental human rights. He also demanded a N300 million compensation from the police for alleged unlawful detention of Evans.
Denying that he ever instituted a suit, Evans was quoted by a Lagos television station at the weekend as saying:
“I am not aware of any lawyer coming for my release. It is not possible that any lawyer was contracted to sue the police or anybody. Who is the lawyer and where did I meet him? I did not brief any lawyer and no lawyer debriefed me.”
“The law suit may be from people who want to cause more trouble for me. Who told people I want to leave police custody? I want to remain with the police for sometime because people will be after me if I am released.”
Corroborating this, a senior police officer told Daily Sun:
“That is the truth. Evans was not aware of the lawsuit. He did not send anyone to stand for him in court. Anyway, the lawyer did not tell anyone he was sent by Evans. He said Mr. Stephen Onwuamadike, Evans’ father, sent him.
“Well, we had made it clear that we have a court order to keep Evans for three months to enable us conclude investigation on his case, in and outside Nigeria. We learnt he has some mansions and hotels in South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria. We are still investigating. I don’t know why people won’t let the police do their job.”
The police had alleged that Evans’ gang members still at large wanted to use legal means to frustrate further investigation into the case.
Again, we have received report about another suspected member of the Badoo cult group who was set ablaze in Ikorody yesterday.
According to multiple reports, this happened yesterday night, on Sunday, July 2nd, 2017 at Idera, Odogunyan, Ikorodu, Lagos.

ANOTHER SUSPECTED BADOO MEMBER CAUGHT AT IDERA COMMUNITY IN ODOGUNYAN -02/07/17
The residents of Odogunyan and it’s environs declares war on the dreaded Badoo cult group leading to arrest of some of them in the last few days.
In broad daylight on Sunday about 11am or thereabouts the vigilance residents caught a man suspected to be a member of Badoo cult group and upon interrogation at first he claimed he worked at one private school (namewitheld) they took him there, they said they don’t know him, he said he works with another firm they also confirmed it to be false, as they were beating him, he confessed he was looking for what to eat.
Meanwhile, a woman told the gathering that they were six in numbers as she overheard there conversation when they were planning their evil plot in an uncompleted building. The community have since gone for the search of the remaining members.
We advice residence to be security conscious and try to inquire about people that move around ur houses, community and environs.

It’s a good thing I have a picture like this…this will be the 2nd time in a long while I will be responding to comments I believe don’t hold water. It is strange and funny at the same time, how the internet shows us the power to believe we can jump into the lives of people living all over the world because as they say! Lanre Gentry recently apologized to his estranged wife, Mercy Aigbe for hurting her, But then, he’s still got a lot to say concerning their failed marriage.

Asked if he regrets the marriage, he said:
I have no regrets whatsoever. I have never regretted being with any woman. Besides, I’m still legally married to Mercy. Till I hear from her about a divorce, I believe I’m still her husband and that’s why I still wear my wedding ring at all times. Maybe you should just ask her why she is destroying my image.
Asked what led to the messy media drama, he said:
It was during the Easter period. We were expecting some guests and I gave her N160, 000 to prepare food and other things. But that was when she decided to go for a photo shoot. From there, she went for AY’s comedy show around 12am. It was even her publicist that told me this. I then went to her stylist’s place because I was angry. We argued but I didn’t beat her; her publicist and stylist were there that day so they can prove me wrong. I am not a violent person; as a matter of fact, whenever I’m angry, I don’t talk. I don’t even want to say much about this because it is a family issue and I want to protect my family.
And he swears yet again that he has never physically attacked her
I have never touched Mercy in my life. All what she is doing and saying is made-up. Even her face that appeared badly bruised was achieved through make-up. She knows what she is doing; she just wants to be free. She doesn’t want to be under any man.

We’ve spoken after the incident, particularly when our son, Juwon, celebrated his seventh birthday some weeks ago. He is with his mother.
Asked about his relationship with their children, he said:
I have a very cordial relationship with my children. I love each and every one of them deeply. I cannot do without them and I think that’s why Mercy decided to deprive me of the chance of seeing my children. Though we have only one child, Juwon, together biologically; I consider Michelle, who Mercy had before we got married, as my child too because I raised her and she actually bears my surname.
Asked about their court case, he said:
We were in court today (Wednesday) and Mercy was asked to bring the children to court during the next sitting, which has been adjourned till August.
