The Burial ceremony to lay slain Soldier, Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama is currently underway at the State House in Accra.

The funeral is expected to be attended by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and senior government officials. Also the religious community as well as other Ghanaians are in attendance.

Recall, the Soldier was murdered at Denkyira Obuasi in the central region after he was mistaken for an armed robber. Apparently, he was in the city on national assignment, the Ghanaian military hierarchy has said.

He was then lynched to death by residents after they found a weapon on him.. His death trended on Social media with many users condemning the act meted out on someone considered to be “human”.

During his funeral today, Mahama’s wife, Barbara Mahama did not regret the brief stay of the Major thanking him for sharing his life with her.

In an emotionally filled tribute, Barbara said:

“you wanted us to enjoy life and be happy.”

“I love you and I always told you. I always reminded you of what you mean to me. You meant the world to me, my everything.”

But marshalling the strength of Esther in the Bible, Barbara said although her husband had passed on she is happy he left fond memories behind.

“When I think about you, I only smile because you are more than a piece of flesh circulating on social media. You were full of life, energy, and vigour so I choose to remember you in that sense.”

The family of the late Major had made only one request of government, to erect a monument in the name of the slain soldier.

They want the name of the soldier to continue to convict the conscience of Ghanaians to reject mob injustice which is responsible for the death of scores of Ghanaians.

Captain Mahama’s Kids have written a beautiful tribute to their later father who was lynched after he was mistaken to be an armed robber by some residents in Ghana.

His funeral held today2, June 6th, and According to the family spokespersons, Zakaria Sakara and WOII Ibrahim Samed, three funerals would be held for the 32-year-old Captain – one in Accra, one in Bole, the paternal grandmother’s hometown in the Northern Region and the last one at Tumu, the paternal grandfather’s hometown in the Upper West Region.

They added that the family will hold a thanksgiving service in memory of Captain Mahama on Sunday, June 11, 2017.

Captain Mahama, who was a commander of the military detachment at Denkyira-Obuasi, the Central Region of Ghana was lynched to death by a mob on Monday, May 29, 2017, after they mistook him for an armed robber.

So far, the Ghanaian authorities have nabbed about 18 people affiliated with the gruesome act, while seven suspects have been officially charged with the murder of the late Captain Mahama and are on remand, the rest will be arraigned before the court on Monday.

Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama is survived by his lovely wife and two children.

Dear daddy, we were told you travelled. You told us you were going to come back. We spoke by phone almost every day. We told you to come and take us swimming and to play tennis and you said okay.

We have been waiting for that ice cream you promised us. We miss playing with you. We miss the dancing moves with mummy, and the laughter that fills our home when you are around.

We miss the Akosombo trip, we miss you coming for us from school and spending time with us before mummy comes. Daddy, we miss going to the Turkish restaurant with you alone to spend “boys boys” time.

We miss you chasing mummy around when she takes your meat from your food, and we miss eating together as a family. We miss you calling us to pray together and we miss you sitting us down to talk to us about life even as young as we are.

Daddy, anytime you were going out, you called us to tell us you would be back and that we should take good care of mummy and not stress her, and since you have kept long in coming, we assure you that we will take good care of mummy and not stress her out.

We really miss you and we are waiting to see you again. We love you very much and we know you love us because you cared for us and you always signed off your calls with “I Love You”.

To the world’s best and greatest daddy, we say we love you and we thank you for blessing us. You are simply irreplaceable.

Major Maxwell Mahama, who is survived by his wife and two children, Jaden and Jerry was lynched by a mob in Ghana and will be buried today at the Osu Military Cemetery.

A Jos Upper Area Court on Thursday dissolved the marriage between 27-year-old Rukayat Ahmed, an NYSC member, and Alkasim Ahmed, following a petition filed by the former.

Rukayat, a resident of Jos, had approached the court seeking the dissolution of the marriage on the grounds that she was no more in love with Alkasim.

The woman, who filed a direct complaint to the court, argued that such separation was permissible in Islamic law,

“if the partners are no more in love and therefore unwilling to live together”.

When the case was mentioned on May 25, the husband did not object to Rukayat’s demand.

At the resumption of hearing on the matter on Thursday, the Judge, Yahaya Ahmed, endorsed the separation of the couple and ordered the petitioner to refund the N80,000 paid as dowry by her husband, as applicable in Islamic law.

Rukayat promptly paid the money and walked away a free woman.

A Man got more that what he bargained for after he slapped a woman while he was jogging. According to reports on Facebook, the man allegedly slapped the woman who was riding a bike begging him to make way for her.. Rather than heed to her plea, the man allegedly slapped her.

It turns out the woman is a wife to a Nigerian Police officer.. He was dealt with, and dragged to the police station… then he quickly pretended to have fainted.

The man on a picture slapped a woman who was ridding a lady bike begging him to make way for her to pass since he was doing morning juggling to keeping fit,this man instead of heeding to her plea,he slapped the woman as if she rob him.

The Aftermath, he is now being drag by the husband to the woman who is also an official of the Nigerian police force. The film don turn sawa, he is now pretending, fainting etc.

Below is an update on the Ikorodu Ritual Killing where two men were nabbed with the headless body of a 7-year-old boy in Ikorodu, Lagos state.

The police in Lagos, on Thursday arrested a pastor for allegedly beheading a seven-year old boy and burying his head at the church’s altar.

Olarinde Famous-Cole, the command’s spokesman, confirmed the arrest to reporters, saying the suspect was arrested with an accomplice.

Famous-Cole said the policemen arrested one Eric, whose confession led to the arrest of the pastor and the recovery of the boy’s body.

“On investigation, one of the suspects, Eric confessed to the crime. He led a team of policemen to Odokekere/ Odogunyan in Ikorodu area to apprehend Oyekan, who later led the team to where the seven-year-old boy was beheaded and his head buried,” he said.

“They hid the body inside canal. The two suspects involved have been arrested and the body and the head of the boy were brought to the station.

“Investigation has commenced and the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos.”

The pastor identified as Adedoyin Oyekan and one Eric were arrested at Odokereke, Odogunyan of Ikorodu on Thursday.

The suspects were rescued from being lynched by some angry residents of the area after committing the offence at 16, Apata Abo Street, Odokekere, Odogunyan.

Eric, who was said to be a friend to the victim’s father, allegedly stole the boy around 11am on Wednesday, after his father left him in his care.

It was gathered the suspect was said to have taken the boy to the pastor’s church where they beheaded and buried him between 2am and 4am on Thursday.

When the victim’s father came back to take his son, Eric claimed he had sent him home.

Eric opened up during interrogation and led detectives to the pastor’s place where the child’s mutilated body was buried.

“The Ayangburin of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi said he would make sure the accused are brought to justice,” a source told NAN.
