A four-year-old disabled schoolboy slowly starved to death while clinging to his mother’s body after he was left there with her corpse for more than two weeks.
Mute and autistic Chadrack Mbala Mulo was found with his arms wrapped around the decomposed body of his mum Esther Eketi-Mulo in their northeast London flat.
An inquest has heard how the heartbreaking find on October 20 came after Chadrack was unable to raise the alarm when his mum died at the start of the month after an epileptic fit.
Chadrack died of malnutrition and dehydration and autism spectrum disorder on October 18, according to a report into his death.
Neighbours at the Trelawney Estate in Hackney reportedly thought the stench coming from the family’s flat was from the mum’s cooking.
The case has now raised questions over school procedures when children are absent. Coroner Mary Hassel said in her report:
“Chadrack had learning difficulties and, when his mother died unexpectedly at home on 1 or 2 October 2016, he did not know how to call for help or feed himself properly.”
Staff at his school, Morningside Primary, had visited the home twice and rang several times in early October but could not get in.
The Coroner said:
“They … could not gain access to the block of flats where Chadrack and his mother lived.
“The likelihood is that Chadrack lived alone in the family home for over a fortnight after his mother’s death.
“He was found a couple of days after his own death, with his arms around her (the mother) body.
“She was by then very decomposed.”
Reports from the Greek Police are that An American tourist, Diannarosa Alduncin Delgado has died after falling off a cliff while taking a selfie on the Greek island of Zakynthos.
According to reports, Ms Delgado was taking a photo against the backdrop of Shipwreck Cove (pictured); one of Greece’s most idyllic beaches and a popular tourist area.
It’s named after a ship that ran aground during a smuggling trip which can still be seen on the sands. The cliffs surrounding it are up to 900 feet tall.
A police officer involved in the case told local media: “She was trying to capture the moment with a selfie when she lost her balance and fell off.”
Ms Delgado’s boyfriend said that she was “standing as close as possible to the edge of the cliff to get the best possible shot of herself and the famous shipwreck.”
Local media also reported that the victim had shouted before tripping over the cliff. Her body was recovered by the coastguard on Monday.
As the investigation into the incident continues, residents have called for security measures to be introduced in the area to prevent further accidents.
Two months ago a Greek student aged 23 also died while taking a selfie in the same spot.

A recent bride in a letter to Slate’s advice columnist Dear Prudence (Mallory Ortberg), narrated what her husband’s best friend/best man/officiant did at their wedding.

The Edo state Police Command have arrested two suspects, who allegedly murdered an Italian-based Nigerian, Mr. Omoruyi Okundolor, in Benin, Edo State.
The suspects revealed that the deceased’s former lover, Mercy, who is now at large, contracted them to assassinate him because he jilted her.
They further confessed that four of them embarked on the mission to eliminate the deceased and named one Moses and Power as members of the gang and that the plot to eliminate the deceased was hatched at a drinking spot at Evbuotubu area of Benin.
They also killed an 18-year-old girl, who recognized one of them, when they went for the mission.
The Edo State Police Commissioner, Haliru Gwandu, who paraded the suspects described the killings as wicked and barbaric and vowed to bring to book the female lover and other suspects currently on the run.
He said:
“Even if one decides to jilt you, killing the person is not an option; that is wickedness. And such people are enemies of the society. No excuse can be acceptable for killing someone.
We must orientate ourselves and inform others because we have been witnessing such crimes these days and it is shocking. It is actually a devilish act which must be stopped.”
Two fake soldiers who extort and maltreat innocent Nigerians, were arrested on Wednesday by the troops of 3 Battalion Nigerian Army operating in Delta State.
The suspects, identified as Onwusuluke Kelechi and Emejo Benedict, extort money from commercial tricycle (KEKE NAPEP) drivers and molest fellow civilians along Nnebisi Road, Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State.
They were dressed in military camouflage uniform while they performed these operations.
The Army spokesperson, Sani Usman, in a statement released this morning said, the suspects have since been handed over to the Nigerian Police in Asaba, Delta State.
He said:
“It is necessary to enjoin the general public to be more vigilant and security conscious because of the activities of these impostors.
“The general public are therefore requested to report anyone claiming to be a soldier outside a designated military locations.
“We would like to again call the public to please take advantage of the newly established Nigerian Army Information and Call Centre to report any such issue and other security concern by calling the short code 193 using any of the telecommunication service providers in Nigeria or through email at [email protected]”
A Zimbabwean man, who obviously is in love, was caught of recent dressed in a lady’s attire, writing an O’level exam for his girlfriend.
The man disguised as a woman, rocked a cap, wig, makeup and attire and everyother thing that’d make him look feminine and then went into the exam hall on behalf of his girlfriend.
However, luck ran out on him when he was caught by an invigilating officer who caught his trick and then unmasked him.
He was immediately handcuffed and handed over to the authorities.
A suspected cult member identified as Ahmed Suleiman has been arrested and held in police custody for allegedly killing a man said to be a member of a rival gang.
27-year-old Suleiman connived with two others at large to throw the victim, whose name had yet to be ascertained, into a lagoon on Carter Bridge, Ebute Ero, Lagos State.
Punch reports that the suspects had trailed their target from Ilorin, Kwara State, to Lagos.
The three-man gang was said to have accosted the victim around 11.30am on Monday, tied his hands to the back and thrown him into the lagoon.
Some passengers on a yellow commercial bus, popularly called Danfo, saw the victim being hauled off towards the edge of the bridge and raised the alarm.
In a split second, the suspects executed their plan and fled the scene. A transport worker was said to have given them a chase and tracked down Suleiman.
The body had yet to be recovered from the lagoon as of 12pm on Wednesday.
A member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in the area, Nurudeen Olalekan, told Punch that the suspect initially told them that the act was to avenge the death of his child, who was allegedly killed by the victim.
Olalekan said,
“We saw all of them walking together towards the spot. The victim was in the middle, but we never knew they were going to kill him. Immediately some passengers shouted, they threw him into the lagoon and took to their heels.
“One of our members went after them. One of them crossed to the other side of the road and escaped. He pushed the two others to the ground, but before we got to the scene, one had escaped.
“He told us he avenged his son’s death. He later said that the three of them were cult members and based in Ilorin with the victim. He said the victim was a member of a rival gang and that they all left Ilorin because of cult clashes.”
Another eyewitness, Adekunle Onike, said the suspect was handed over to the police at the Ebute Ero Police Division to avert jungle justice.
“We learnt he had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, from the station,” he added.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the police had launched a manhunt for other fleeing suspects.
He said,
“The suspect, Ahmed Suleiman, has no fixed address. He and two others allegedly tied a man and threw him into the lagoon. Scene of the crime was visited by detectives. Suleiman has been arrested while effort is being made to arrest other fleeing suspects and recover the body.”

A Ugandan billionaire educationist and founder of St Lawrence schools, Prof Lawrence Mukiibi was laid to rest on Friday, June 1st in his ancestral home at Katenden. He died at the age of 71.
However, one small event left mourners and Ugandans in total awe – the number of his children, whom he had outside wedlock as he had no official wife.
Those in attendance counted over 30 children of the deceased, some of them as young as few months. Reports claims that he fathered more than 80 kids from his students.
In an April 2016 interview with NBS Television, when asked the number of his children, Prof. Mukiibi said:
“It is a taboo to ask an African man how many children he has, especially a man of my age. But I have children, I keep adopting”
The New Vision reports that his family is planning to conduct DNA tests to confirm the paternity of the children.
Meanwhile, several pregnant women have come forward to claim that the late educationist was responsible for their pregnancies.
Keti Nandi, the officer in charge of child and family affairs in Kampala Metropolitan East have advised the family of Mukiibi to continue providing assistance to the expectant mothers up to birth. Then after that, they can carry out DNA tests to ascertain the paternity of the children.
“My appeal is that whoever is pregnant should not be undermined because of that. Even if you (family) denied the pregnancy, the respoinsibility is upon you people to make sure that these women are catered for until they give birth,. It will be after birth that the DNA will take over,” Nandi said.

Aounduver who was a student of Lady Celina Academy Makurdi, allegedly hung himself in a mysterious circumstance inside his parents’ chicken pen located in their private residence behind Federal Pay Office, Nyima in Makurdi town.
Narrating the unfortunate incident to Vanguard Tuesday, mother of the deceased, Mrs. Veronica Terunm who wept profusely as she spoke said she was still in shock and could not comprehend what led her son to abominable act.
Mrs. Terunm said,
“I cannot just understand what really happened I must confess. He was just a small boy, I advised on Sunday afternoon on the need for him to be a good boy in the family and few hours later I found him hanging and dead in our chicken pen.
“That afternoon he was playing football with his mates outside and at about 7pm we started looking for him after his mates had all gone home.
“After searching the entire neighbourhood for him, my instinct directed me to the pen where I found him hanging lifeless. I couldn’t understandable it. I screamed and called his father who was not within at the time.
“My husband came and was speechless and shocked. We immediately called the Police who came and observed the situation and after examining his remains they expressed shock that he did no stool or urinate on his body as expected in such deaths.
“Moreover, he was hung with a piece of rag which obviously couldn’t have carried his body weight and his legs were on the ground that has left us even more confused, however we are not suspecting anybody in this matter but we are allowing the Police do their investigation.” She said as she wept uncontrollably.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent, ASP, Moses Yamu who confirmed incident said
“the matter is being investigated and I can assure you that we will definitely dig dip into the matter.”

A 38-year-old man, identified as Ajibade Rasheed was found with fresh human parts in Osogbo, Osun State
A woman head, vagina, liver, lungs and a bottle containing blood were recovered from him. The items were discovered in the suspect’s car with registration number, LSD 987 DJ.
While parading the suspect, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye said the suspect was caught at Olu-Ode area and confirmed that investigations have commenced fully to identify the victim.
There is a drama going on, on Social Media today, after a man shared a post about DNA Tests.
Here is the gist.. It all started from a Guy named Ben Otu.. He owns a Facebook Group called Ila Otu, and he shared a request on his wall from one of his readers. The reader needed advise on a Good Hospital in Nigeria where a DNA test can be done.
He further revealed he traveled out for many months and he has many reasons to believe his wife cheated on his when he was away, as thus, he needs to carry out DNA tests on his children. He wrote;
Please if you know any Good Hospital in Lagos where someone can perfectly carry out DNA test on my two children. Something keep telling me that my wife was cheating on me in Nigeria all this while I have been outside the country. I came back specifically for this.
I took her unawares and luckily for her, I didn’t catch her with any man. Now I want to take these my two kids to any quality hospital here in Lagos for DNA to clear my doubts.
The earlier, the better. Kindly suggest any Hospital in Lagos for me. I don#t know anywhere here.

Anthony Morgan, a 51-year-old married father was caught trying to groom a child by vigilante paedophile hunters.
According to Metro UK, Anthony Morgan believed he had been chatting to a 13-year-old schoolgirl online but was actually duped by Dark Justice – a group that trawls the web to expose people looking for vulnerable children.
When confronted, Morgan told paedophile hunters, ‘I am talking to my wife if you don’t mind’ after turning up under the impression he was meeting a child for an illegal sexual encounter.
The man arranged to meet the ‘teen’ but was instead greeted by members of the group. When confronted he denied he had done anything wrong, telling them he was speaking to his wife on the phone.
Morgan, of Shiremoor, North Tyneside, had engaged in graphic sexual chat over Whatsapp and asked to exchange illicit pictures with the account he believed to be a child.
When a meeting was arranged he said ‘it would be a waste of time going to meet her if there wasn’t going to be something on offer’.
Morgan told the fake 13-year-old’s profile that she was ‘too shy’.
In a bid to cover his tracks, Morgan asked for his number to be deleted from the girl’s phone before they met and said people might call him a ‘paedo’.
When he turned up at Newcastle city centre to meet his victim in August 2015, with a condom in his wallet, he was confronted by Dark Justice and then arrested by the police.
Prosecutor David Lamb said: ‘Their conversations were examined. The Crown say there is a clear pattern of sexual grooming in conversations between the two of them.
‘Following his arrest, he was searched and, while in police custody, a condom was removed by the police from his wallet.’
Morgan pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming at Newcastle Crown Court.
Judge Amanda Rippon jailed him for 21 months and said he must sign the s*x offenders register for ten years.
Morgan was ordered to abide by the terms of a sexual harm prevention order for the rest of his life.
The judge told him: ‘Although this is an attempt because the girl was not real, you actually travelled to meet her and if she had been real I have no doubt, having read every single word of the chat logs, you would have committed a sexual offence against her.
‘You made it plain it would have been a waste of your time unless something sexual was forthcoming.’
Jonathan Devlin, defending, said Morgan has family commitments which include him being carer for his adult son. He has no previous history of sexual offending.

The Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ikorodu campus Students were allegedly brutalized earlier today by soldiers from the 174 Battalion in Odogunyan, Ikorodu.
According to New Telegraph, many of the students including the the President of the Students’ Union, Dauda Lawal, sustained various degrees of injuries, as they ran for safety.
The union blocked the main road in front of the campus this morning, disrupting both human and vehicular movement following the commencement of a peaceful protest on the campus on Tuesday over the resumption of strike action by the institution’s chapter of the workers’ unions.
The soldiers, who were reportedly on patrol, dispersed the students violently by deploying their batons, belts and rifle butts because of the refusal of the students to eradicate barricades used to block the main road.

The Bauchi state Commissioner for Local government Affairs, Nasurudeen Mohammed, disclosed that the State Government spent a total of N96 million to purchase horses for the six emirate councils in the state in the last two years.
He listed the emirate councils as Bauchi, Misau, Dass, Jamare, Katagum and Ningi at a press conference in the state capital, Bauchi.
He said:
“N96 million was expended by this administration in the last two years for purchase of horses to six emirate councils to maintain the tradition and culture of the state,”
The commissioner, whose ministry was responsible for coordinating the activities of the 20 local government areas in the state, explained that the gesture was as a result of the request by the emirate councils.
He explained that the ministry served as a liaison office between the three tiers of government to ensure prudent releases and that N72.9 million was spent by the ministry to print uniform and indigenes certificates for all the local government areas.
He said the state government spent N8.9 million to organise Inter-Local Government and Governor’s Cup competition and that N55 million was used to print and distribute revenue receipt for all the local government areas.
He included that the government settled legal fees and debts owed by some local government areas like Shira, Alkaleri, Dambam, Misau, Bauchi, Giade and Toro to safeguard the image of the government.
Meanwhile, In 2015, a United Nations poverty index report said 86.6 percent of Bauchi state residents were poor making the state one of the poorest states in Nigeria.
This recurring Kenyan trend struck the Residents of Nakuru’s Tanners once again on Tuesday June 6th after a 55-year-old man was found stuck while having sex with his sister-in-law at a hotel in the town.
Nairobi News reports that the father of five had left his home in Kisii supposedly on a trip to Mombasa to purchase a family car after selling a piece of land only to end up in a hotel in Nakuru with his sister-in-law, who is a student.
After enjoying a night of marathon sex, things suddenly turned way bad for the two lovebirds when they attempted to disengage themselves.
Upon crying out loud in pains, the hotel management broke the door of their hotel room and saw the pair stuck to each other.
As word disseminated around the neighborhood, hundreds of people stormed the hotel including the man’s wife who claims that she had charmed her husband to expose him.
According to the reports, the woman at first demanded to be paid some ‘good amount of money’ before she could separate the busted couple. She, however, agreed to have them taken to the witch doctor for separation.
The love birds were paraded in bed sheets to where the witchdoctor, who identified herself as Annet Mutheu, was.
On arrival at Mutheu’s place, Nabwire’s sister pleaded for her mercy screaming,
“My sister, I’m exhausted, come, let’s talk. My sister, I’ve been ashamed today.”
Ms. Margaret Nabwire, said she took the drastic measure of seeking the services of a witchdoctor after neighbors told her that her husband has been cheating on her.
“I have been married to him for more than 20 years and we have five children. Today l decided to teach him a lesson. I paid the witchdoctor Sh 40,000 for assistance,” the crying mother said.
Before the separation, the witchdoctor directed the lovers to ask for forgiveness and after they pleaded guilty she untied two huge pencil-shaped stick and the man breathed a sigh of relief while shouting, “Thank you, my wife, thank you.”
The witchdoctor said she uses ‘kamuti’ with names of either the wife or husband and ties it with a string until the cheating spouse is caught.

In a new interview with The Sun, Senior Special Assistant to the President, Femi Adesina, revealed that President Buhari has fulfilled all three election promises he made before coming into office in 2015.
He revealed that the campaign was on three major planks; secure the country, fight corruption and restore the economy and that two years down the line, he can confidently say that those promises are being fulfilled.
He said:
“If you are going to assess a government, or do any kind of assessment at all, you often need to benchmark it against promises made. So, it is a good time to ask ourselves: what were the promises made?
And how far have those promises been fulfilled? We cannot come with a definitive assessment of the government yet, because it is a four-year mandate. So, we can’t come with an assessment that is final. No! So, we ask ourselves: what are the promises the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari made before they came into power? Of course, they were three.
The campaign was on three major planks: secure the country, fight corruption and restore the economy. And two years down the line, I can confidently say that those promises are being fulfilled. The level of fulfillment will differ from one area to the other, but, definitely, they are promises being fulfilled.
In the area of security, we know that one major aspect of security in this country is the war against insurgency. There are others like the Fulani herdsmen issue, kidnappings, armed robbery, and all that. We knew where the Boko Haram insurgency was when this administration came in 2015. Boko Haram was running riot round the country.
The insurgency started in 2009 from the north-east; it crept into the north-west, north-central, Abuja and Kogi. From Kogi, it could have gone to south-west; and, from south-west, it could have gone to south-south. So, what else should be left of the country? That was the position as at 2015 May. Don’t forget that after the inauguration of the president, the ferocity of bombings was serious round the country.
It was as if Boko Haram knew a Daniel had come to judgement, and they wanted to show him what they were capable of doing. But, then, they saw that the president re-equipped the military, changed the leadership, and restored morale. And he went to different countries seeking help in terms of equipment, and, later, the military was in a position to take the battle to Boko Haram, and chased them out of north-central, north-west, Abuja and limited them to just north-east, and not just the north-east but three states: Adamawa, Yobe and Borno.
Soon, Adamawa and Yobe were cleared, and Borno became the only hotbed, and not the whole of Borno but just within the Sambisa Forest. And by December 22, the last camp, called Cam-Zairo (Camp Zero), of Sambisa Forest fell to the military.
So, there is a wide difference –just like the difference between heaven and hell –between the insurgency battle today compared to 2015. There is a wide difference”
In tribute to her late colleague, Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola, has shared this throwback photo of herself with the Late Moji Olaiya and Vivian Mitchie.
After her body was brought in to the country earlier today, friends and colleagues have trooped in to the venue of the late actress’s burial including her husband and daughter.
Among the people who showed up at the service, is Fathia Blaogun, who had words to describe the deceased.
In her words:
“ Moji loved this job a lot; she kept telling me that she had not done enough for this industry.
“She had a lot of projects pending. Giving back to the society was what Moji Olaiya had always wanted to do. And she was doing it in her own little way.
“Losing Moji in the industry for me is a minus because Moji was a fantastic and a very strong person that nobody would want to miss as a friend, sister or mother.
“We have great plans for the kids, but you know we say it and God does it.
“We pray that God will give us the strength to continue with the plans and fulfill the promises we made to the kids, but I know that they are not going to suffer.
“We actually planned this burial arrangement in one week, thanks to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who gave us money to bring back her corpse (the precious cargo) from Canada to be buried in Nigeria.
“And I am so happy that Moji will be buried in her father’s land. It will have been sad if she was buried over there, “she said.
Adeoye Adewale, popularly known as `Elesho`, also spoke about the actress. He said:
“I felt bad when I heard the sad news of her death, it is a great loss to the entertainment industry and may her soul rest in peace, “he said.
Also, Shola Shodimu said “It’s a big loss, Moji was good, professionally she was good.
“She had so much humility around her; we are all going to miss her.
“If I should begin to itemise all I knew about her, it would be an endless miss, because she was a thorough professional.
“I can only say that God should grant those she left behind, especially, the family, the fortitude to bear the loss. It’s a big loss, “ he said.
Veteran musician Queen Salawa Abeni said,
“I felt so sad when I heard about her death, and I’m going to miss her beautiful smile.
“I pray for her mum and dad, for almighty Allah to console them. Then for the children, we need to stand up and join hands to see the children grow and succeed.
“We cannot just pay our last respect today and turn our back; I advise that we contribute toward her children and family’s welfare, “she said.
Popular Fuji artist Pasuma said:
“The last time I saw her was during one of her movie premier.
“This is a sad thing to happen and we need more prayers in the industry. We have to pray for her and her family and children.
“May her soul rest in perfect peace, “he said.
A 30-year-old man, identified as Garuba has been arrested by the Kogi state police command for allegedly stabbing his wife to death over N2,000 money for feeding.
The suspect who is a commercial driver from Ihima in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, was paraded alongside other criminals in the state.
He told journalists that his wife of 15 years, Falilat, picked up a quarrel with him over his inability to cater for the family and that he regrets his action While parading him and other suspects
He said:
“My wife requested for N4,000 for her to go and purchase food items, but I managed to give her N2,000 promising that the following day I would run round for the balance. “But she started cursing me when I insisted she must return back #500 from the #2,000 so that I could use it to run around. Before I knew what was happening, she landed a slap on my face and this made me to be drenched in fury as I pick up a knife and shook her at her oesophagus”.
The deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations, Yahaya Abubakar, revealed that the suspects would be charged to court soon.
