The Obafemi Awolowo University Department of Student Affairs (OAU DSA) on the 4th of June 2017 made a special release stating that all religious activities should be suspended in the school’s halls of residence.
The release also commanded all students to either pray in their rooms or go to the religious ground. This “Special Release” which was all in upper case read:
“This is to bring to the attention of all students that all religious activities is hereby suspended in halls of residence until further notice.
Any student that fails to comply will face immediate disciplinary action which may include revocation of studentship and expulsion.
Students are advised to pray in their individual rooms or move to the religious centre”
The DSA wasted no time in executing the new order. Reports claim that some members of the DSA and school security went to the two major hall mosques (Awolowo hall mosque and Fajuyi hall mosque) and destroyed all the temporary structures in it after sending the Students out of them.
However, there have been no reports of similar demolitions in any of the several ‘hall’ secretariats allocated the Christian fellowships.
A former Nigerian Lesbian, has taken to her Instagram to share her testimony of being offered a job as the acting pharmacist in one of the best Egyptian hospitals in Abuja.
Sophia disclosed how God instructed her to quit the club and being a lesbian while holding a ‘You weren’t born gay’ sign.

Following the arrest of Nigerian singer, Dammy Krane, with charges which has since gone viral on the Internet, which listed Krane’s crimes as ‘Grand Theft 3rd Degree/Armed/Conspiracy/Credit Card Forgery/Intent to Defraud, Sunday Scoop sought to ascertain from insiders close to the embattled singer what the true story is.
According to one of Dammy’s aunties, who lives in the US and who pleaded for her identity to be shielded, he was only a victim of circumstance.
She stated:
“We don’t stay in the same state over here but Dammy came to visit me just last week. I got the news of his detention on the Internet just like everybody else.
After making some calls, I was able to confirm that he was indeed arrested. He has been in the US for some time now and he has regularly been booked for shows all across America.
The guy he was arrested with had actually booked him for a show this weekend in Miami. And he (Chukwuebuka) was the one that paid for the jet and made hotel reservations with the stolen card details.”
Speaking further, she said:
“You know it is a usual thing for show promoters to book flight tickets for artistes, so one cannot blame Dammy in this situation. A lawyer has already been contacted but unfortunately, Dammy would have to stay in jail till Monday when they would be able to go to court to perfect bail conditions.”
However, this is contrary to the prevailing views on social media, with many Nigerians lambasting Krane for trying to live and portray a lifestyle above his means.
An aggrieved young Nigerian man has taken his time to pen down on an issue he sees as hopeless in the country – Lawrence Jr Tröý, took to his Facebook page to share his thoughts on leadership in the country.
According to Lawrence, Nigerian youths should not be blamed for engaging in frivolous acts, as they’re only trying to survive a day in the country, cause there’s no hope for them ruling the country tomorrow.
He wrote alongside a photo of young Presidents of France, Luxembourg, Canada and Belgium:
But here in my country, they take the greats from the past and compare us (youth), I wonder if the greats could survive in this generation.. Ex-Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, on Sunday, said President Buhari’s health has improved when he visited him in London last week and he disclosed that the President would be returning to Nigeria before June 11th.
Speaking with newsmen at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, Kalu said he visited London to have first hand knowledge on the state of health of Buhari.
He’s quoted:
“I went to Washington to visit some business partners and from there stopped at London to see Mr President, who is recovering very fast . I am excited over the state of health of President Buhari despite the hate messages people were spreading about him. I am disappointed with the statement coming from some Nigerians about the health of Mr President”.
“The messages some Nigerians have been spreading in the social media is unhealthy. I am calling on Nigerians to have a change of heart. Being a President, does not mean, you cannot be sick, the hate messages are becoming too much . There must be good sense of tolerance among the ethic groups, we are all one.”

Speaking on being a Bully, Bisola says;
“That is not the true statement of who I am [but] I try as much as possible to let myself out when I am upset. I have lived a number of years of my life, bottling things in, and it didn’t do me any good. I walk around with a lump in my chest upset at somebody who doesn’t even know that they upset me,” she said.
“So, if you make me upset, I just let it out. And once it’s out there, it is done. So when people were saying [that I was a bully], I thought may be it was their own way to trying to make me look bad on the show.”
“I am not a bully. May be I talk a lot because I am a bit expressive, but I am not a bully,” she added.

Asked if she has had a proper conversation with TTT since the show ended, she said, “No. I didn’t want to dwell on that. I don’t think he has anything to explain to me. He has apologised.”

RE: CALL FOR JUSTICE FOR THE MURDER OF MY DAUGHTER, JOY ODAMA BY ALHAJI USMAN ADAMU.
My name is Mrs Philomena ODAMA. I am a native of Yala LGA in Cross River State. I am resident at old Karmo village in Abuja.
Joy Odama is my first daughter. She is a 200 level undergraduate of Mass Communications at the Cross River State University; who just returned for Christmas holidays and met her untimely death.
On the 18th Dec, 2016, one Elizabeth from Ogoja LGA, Cross River State who is my daughters friend visited us and told Joy to accompany her to see one Alhaji Usman Adamu who she said was a philanthropist that gives scholarship to young students. She said the Alhaji lives in the same neighborhood, precisely at Ibro Quarters, Old Karmo-Abuja.
Knowing Elizabeth as a long time friend and without any suspicion, she innocently followed her to the said Alhaji’s house. On getting there, my daughter called me that the Alhaji wants to see me.
I asked why and she said that the Alhaji wants to help her with her education with other girls who lives in the neighborhood who are there with their parents. I quickly got to the house and Alhaji Usman ADAMU promised to help in my daughters education and equally promised to get me a job with the Nigerian Security & Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC). We exchanged numbers, i graciously thanked him and left with my daughter.
Two days later on the 20th December, 2016 in the evening, Alhaji Usman ADAMU called my daughter and said his house help is seriously sick and that she should please come and look after her while he goes to get a doctor. He also said he has called other girls (i.e the other girls we saw in his house the previous day). Joy told me and i allowed her to go. That was the last time i saw my daughter alive.
After a while on the same day, i called Joy and she said she was at the house with the other girls and will soon be coming back. About an hour later, when she was not yet back, i called severally but she did not pick. Out of curiosity, i called Alhaji Usman ADAMU on his number 08179606208 but he too did not pick. I became more worried and went to the house but couldn’t gain access to Alhaji’s apartment.
The next morning, i called Joy and Alhaji ADAMU several times to no avail. Eventually, Alhaji ADAMU picked his call and to my surprise, he pretended not to know who i was nor who Joy was. When i pressed further he said ” did anything happen to Joy” as if she does not know where she is. At this point i knew all was not well.
In panic, i called my husband (who was not around at the time due to the nature of his work), my relatives and neighbors and we all agreed to report to the police. As we were about stepping out to the police station, we saw two policemen in our house who asked us to follow them to the police station at Karmo.
On getting there, the DPO informed us that all the girls that went to Alhaji’s house are all unconscious; that one is not responding to treatment while the others are responding. We requested to see Joy but we were turned down and asked to come back the next day. We pressed further but the DPO insisted we go and come back as directed. The next day being 22nd December, 2016 i went back to the police station in company of relatives and a lawyer who is a close family friend. To my utter shock, i was told that my daughter was dead and has been taken to the mortuary.
We asked to know how, why and what led to Joy’s death and the DPO, CSP NKEM RAPHAEL declined further comments. Our lawyer asked if the Alhaji has been arrested but CSP NKEM RAPHAEL bluntly told us that as far he is concerned, Alhaji is not culpable, no crime has been committed, that my daughter died a natural death and he cannot arrest Alhaji Usman ADAMU. DPO NKEM told the lawyer to take the matter to his superiors but that he has already informed them about the matter and as far as they are concerned, Alhaji ADAMU cannot be arrested. We requested to know the whereabout of my daughters corpse and the other girls responding to treatment so we can interview them.
The DPO directed us to Federal Medical Center, Airport Road Abuja and on getting to the mortuary, we discovered body has already been embalmed. When we asked why my daughters body was embalmed without our knowledge, one of the attendant’s confided in us that Alhaji Usman ADAMU first brought the dead body in the early hours of 21st Dec,2016 claiming to be the father of the girl. But on seeing the body, they suspected foul play and insisted that they will not admit the body until they see a police or doctor’s report.
Alhaji Usman ADAMU left and came back with DPO NKEM RAPHAEL of Karmo Divisional Police who ordered them to immediately embalm the body.
We also discovered that the other girls the DPO claimed were on admission in the hospital were not there. We went back to the police station to find out why our daughters body would be embalmed without our prior consent. At the police station, i saw Martha, one of the girls whom i met at Alhaji Usman ADAMU’S house.
She was by the police canter and i asked her what happened to Joy and she narrated the following; ” on the 20th of December, 2016 Alhaji Usman ADAMU called her to come to his house, that he has already called the other girls to help him look after his house help who was very sick. But her elder brother ( Emmanuel, who was also in the police station with her) stopped her from going to Alhaji’s house that day.
But that she sneaked very early in the morning to Alhaji’s house the following day and on getting there she was shocked at what she saw. She saw my daughter , Joy ODAMA lying lifeless on the floor and the other girls were stooling and vomiting. She became afraid and tried to run out of the house but Alhaji Usman ADAMU and some inside the house held her back and brought her to the police station. When i was about asking her further questions, some police men shouted at her to stop talking and whisked her away.
We went back again to the DPO, CSP NKEM RAPHAEL to ask why my daughter was embalmed without our knowledge and that we heavily suspect foul play and demanded for an explanation and further investigation. The DPO reiterated his initial position and bluntly told us not to pursue this case further, that he would advise us to dialogue with Alhaji Usman ADAMU for our daughters burial. He insisted he has nothing more to do with us until we agree to meet with Alhaji Usman ADAMU.
On the advise of a family friend, we agreed to meet with Alhaji Usman ADAMU to shed more light on what actually transpired. On the agreed date of the meeting being 24th Dec., 2016 by 10am, we were at the police station with our lawyer but on sighting the lawyer, the DPO lied that the meeting has been postponed. When the lawyer asked why, he said that the Alhaji was not around and that his number is not connecting, that he will call the lawyer and inform her of the next date for the meeting. Immediately the lawyer left, the DPO quickly called us inside his office and we were so surprised to see Alhaji Usman ADAMU sitting right there. The DPO told us to put off our phones and drop it on his desk , that he does not want the meeting to be recorded. In attendance was the DPO, CSP NKEM RAPHAEL, DCO, SP MICHAEL OBIORA, the Inspector Crime and Alhaji Usman ADAMU. On our side was my husband, myself, relatives and a family friend.
The DPO was the first to speak. He said if we know what is good for us we should agree to whatever the Alhaji will offer us and desist from further pursuing this matter. Alhaji Usman ADAMU then offered to settle the matter with Three Hundred Thousand Naira(N300,000) and we became infuriated with anger, left home and informed the lawyer what happened. The lawyer insisted that further investigation be carried out. The DPO again called for a second meeting where we met with AIG Umoru Usman Shehu;
AIG Intelligence, Force Headquarters Abuja. AIG Umoru told us bluntly also that investigation in this matter is closed and cannot be reopened. He said Alhaji Usman ADAMU should add an additional One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) to his initial offer. He told us harshly that that is the much he can do in this matter and that is his final decision and it is in our best interest to accept the offer. At this point, apparently sensing the threat in his tone, a family friend present called us aside and advised that we collect the money to give them a false believe that we have agreed to their terms while we go home and think of the next line of action, including having it as an exhibit.
As it stands now, it is very visible the blind and audible to the deaf that Alhaji Usman ADAMU has people in high places within the Nigerian Police Force and have connived with them to deny our poor family justice. So, i am passionately pleading and calling on the government and the general public to come to my aid so that my daughters gruesome death will not be in vain. Investigations has revealed that my daughter,
Joy Odama is not the first girl that Alhaji Usman ADAMU has killed on the pretext of helping them.
I am using this medium to appeal to all to help me seek for justice in the painful death of my daughter.
A new video showing an Irish woman who stormed into a Nigerian shop in Dublin, destroying its goods following accusations that the shop owner a Nigerian woman identified as Cynthia – connived with the Irish woman’s Nigerian partner to snatch her daughter, has emerged online.
Sources who shared the video, report that the Irish woman met the Nigerian man, Kelechi Jude, many years ago. Their relationship produced a daughter and Kelechi Jude quickly ensured that his name was inputted as the baby’s father at the Birth Certificate Registry office. This happened just days before his visa would expire so getting recognised as the father of an Irish child as well as spouse to an Irish woman would earn him more rights to stay in the country.
However, the relationship deteriorated. The Irish woman welcomed a second child who is autistic, and from her utterances, Kelechi connived with the shop owner, Cynthia, to whisk their daughter away, hence why the irate mum stormed the shop to exert some measure of revenge.
Cynthia called the police (Garda) on the irate mum and when they arrived, the Irish could not give any coherent explanation for her actions.
Nothing had been heard of Kelechi Jude as at press time. However, Cynthia reportedly did not press charges for the damages caused.

‘SNAKE PASTOR’ GIVES PUBLIC CONFESSION:
Pictures showing Pastor Penuel Mnguni, popularly known as the ‘Snake Pastor’, feeding snakes to his members in South Africa as a purported demonstration of God’s power went viral across the globe, making headlines in newspapers and online media worldwide.
However, Pastor Mnguni of the ‘End Time Disciples Ministries’, did not stop there. He went further by driving a car over some of his members, feeding parts of a live rat to congregants, locking another in a deep freezer for over thirty minutes and causing yet more to strip off their clothes during his wild church services.
Pastor Mnguni was arrested for his activities and faced backlash from both human and animal rights groups but despite the global outrage sparked by his actions, he vowed to continue unperturbed.
Thus, when Pastor Mnguni soberly came forward during The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) service, it was a shock to many.
Penuel told the congregation that he had read certain Scriptures such as Mark 16:17-18 which led him to believe he could feed his congregants with strange items to prove the power of God. However, he admitted that after discovering Emmanuel TV and beginning to listen to Prophet T.B. Joshua’s teachings, he realised his activities were “not Scriptural”. He therefore requested for prayers from Prophet T.B. Joshua for deliverance from the spirit that pushed him to engage in such bizarre, inhumane actions.
A Facebook User, Victoria Onwuchekwa has said if you’re married and then you hang out with friends beyond 11pm, then you’re an irresponsible man.

If you can’t do it then you have no business being married.

Muhammad Ali’s only biological son claims he is facing homelessness a year after his father’s death.
He accuses other family members of stopping him getting an equal share of the boxing legend’s £62million fortune.
Muhammad Ali Junior, 45, says he has only received three “measly payments” of £2,000 in the last two months and is sleeping on a friend’s floor in Florida, just days away from living on the streets because he can’t afford to pay any rent.
Ali Jnr said an equal slice of the inheritance had been agreed at a meeting in California with his seven sisters, adopted brother Asaad, and the will executor – Ali’s fourth wife of 30 years, Lonnie, 59.
But his son told Daily Mirror:
“It looks like I’ve just been cut off completely. I don’t have a bank account, so they’ve had to wire money to me.
“It’s been a rough year. This isn’t what my dad would have wanted. He would have wanted me to be OK, have a place to stay, have my money.
“I’m going to live off water now, as that’s all I can afford. Getting food is hard, as I don’t have a cent to my name.
“I just find a way somehow to get food each day. I’ve got nowhere I call home any more.”
Asked if he was scared of facing life on the streets, he said:
“I don’t care where I sleep at, as long as I sleep.”
He said he has begged other family members for help.
For the last 20 years, Ali Jnr says he has been ostracised by the family, having little contact with his famous father.
He lived on Chicago’s notorious gangland south side with his wife Shaakira and daughters Ameera and Shakera, struggling to make ends meet cleaning people’s yards and doing odd jobs.
But his marriage fell apart just a month after his famous father died, amid accusations that he ran out on his wife.He insists she dumped him and forced him out of their marital home.
After attending a family meeting over the will last July, Ali Jnr says he got a phone call from Shaakira saying she had moved in with her parents because the water and electricity had been cut off.
He says he then made his way to Miami and stayed with his mother, Ali’s first wife, Khalilah, 66.

“I stayed with the marriage to see if things can work out, but I had 11 years of complete unhappiness.

Chibuike Obi, gay activist and also a writer with Brittle Paper has been reportedly kidnapped after being missing since June 1st.
Several reports on Twitter are saying he was kidnapped for “spreading Satanism”. One user said the writer who lives in Owerri was kidnapped over his last article on homosexuality.

But I have stopped making public my locations on social media. I register my presence long after I have left the place, and if there is need for that. I try to keep my movement discrete. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed looks to have lost his edge against a worthy opponent after he appeared on the latest episode of the Osasu Show where he assessed the President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration at Two.
The Minister who seemed unprepared for the heavy lifting which came at him during the interview had earlier been questioned on his take regarding Nigerians who have accused him of telling ‘little white lies’ to which he replied that this was mainly because he was the face of the opposition party for nearly a decade.
He added that the second reason why Nigerians have accused him of telling lies to favour the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is becasue quite a big section of the internet is yet to forgive him for the role he played in ousting PDP from office.
He said: “I think quite a big section of the internet is yet to forgive me for the role I played in the coming of this government. Many of them hold me personally responsible for the defeat of the PDP.”
Lai Mohammed added that “It was Nigerians who wanted a new government,” and he helped.
The Information Minister further dared anyone to come out with facts proving he had indeed lied to Nigerians at any point to favour the Buhari-led administration.
Lai Mohammed in reply noted that there is very little in governance when the economy, corruption, infrastructure and security have been covered. He added that Nigerians need to understand the focus of the Buhari-led administration to understand how much the Buhari-led administration had achieved.
He further noted while speaking on the impact of corruption that about N700 billion was appropriated in the Ministry of Niger Delta between 2990 and 2015 according to a memorandum by the Honorable Minister of the Niger Delta.
Responding to a question on the redundancy of the power sector and the failure of the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola in delivering the promised 10,000MW of electricity, Lai Mohammed noted that he does not agree with the verdict of Nigerians about the power industry adding that the Buhari-led administration entered power when Nigerians enjoyed only 2690MW adding that Buhari brought it to 5014MW which was affected by the medestruction of pipelines in the Niger Delta region adding that Nigerians enjoy almost 4,000MW now.
The Minister of Information further failed to defend the N10billion which was allocated to IDPs adding that it is the most transparent administration Nigeria has had.

Tapjets, the Hail-A-Jet service company has revealed how modern mobile technology helped to detect and trace the fraud that led to the arrest of Nigerian singer, Dammy Krane and his accomplice, Chukwuebuka.
The duo were arrested on June 2, 2017, in Miami, Florida.
Tapjets said the fraud was detected with a small token of authenticity.
“He (Dammy Krane) uses Samsung Galaxy 7, and messages did not come from that phone. However, that same phone was used to place the online order with credit card that does not belong to him,” Head of Flight Safety and Security for Tapjets, Konstantin, told Instablog9ja exclusively.
“Same phone was used to register multiple accounts trying to buy with different cards until one finally worked. However, names did not match to zip codes etc.”
The company revealed that Dammy’s accomplice, Chukwuebuka also tried to purchase flight on another phone with yet another card.
“Total of five cards in an hour till one worked. We are 100 percent confident that our app was on that phone and order was placed via T-Mobile network from cell tower located in Miami area,” Konstantin continued.
“We have coordinates of cell tower and proof that they took a car from that area to Opalacka airport. That’s where the arrest took place.”
The company said it is not proud about the incident, but it wants others to think twice before stealing from companies.
“Technology is very sophisticated and being an airline, we have access to the latest. I hope you can help in spreading the message that we are not on a witch hunt,” Konstantin concluded.
While Chukwuebuka has been released on bail, it was gathered that Dammy who is facing 9 counts of fraud and grand theft is not eligible to bail yet.
However, a defense attorney, Deborah Prager, has now been appointed to represent him.
