Popular Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi has revealed why she friend-zoned her husband, Banky Wellington, better known as Banky W, for one year before accepting his relationship proposal.
She made this revelation while speaking about the early stage of their relationship at Waterbrook Church in Lagos on Sunday, September 17.
The 35-year-old movie star explained that she initially put him in the friend zone because she wasn’t sure about God’s intention for their relationship.
“I would like to say that friendship plays a very big role in laying the foundation of your relationship. I friend-zoned my husband for a year and half [laughs].
“I friend-zoned him for two reasons. One, I wasn’t sure that I have heard from God about whether this person was actually my person. Actually, three reasons. Second, marrying Banky W [laughs]. I was like, ‘my life on my own is chaotic enough, I would now marry Banky? No, no, no.’
And then thirdly, just trying to at least have a friendship. And I honestly believe that the friendship we laid over a year and half has played a very big role in how our relationship is today. Banky W is my guy. I mean if you take away romance and sex and everything that makes a marriage, he would still be my guy. Banky is my best friend.”

Nigerian singer Temmie Ovwasa, also known as YBNL Princess, has opened up about her former record label boss, Olamide, and his alleged infidelity record.
Temmie, who was formerly signed to YBNL Nation, took to her social media page to share this revelation days after sharing lengthy details of her experiences during her time with the label and why she decided to leave.
Her disclosure was prompted by the death of singer Mohbad, who accused his label boss, Naira Marley, of assaulting him when he tried to leave the label.

Popular Nigerian singer Harrysong has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the tragic demise of his colleague, Mohbad.
The 27-year-old singer, who passed away on Tuesday, September 12, was a victim of intimidation, harassment, and assault by individuals allegedly affiliated with his former record label boss, Naira Marley.
While seeking justice for the deceased singer, Harrysong disclosed that he, too, could have met a similar fate in the hands of his former label, were it not for the grace of God.
In a post shared via his Instastory, the singer revealed that he was also tormented and attacked by his former label, Five Star Music, when he sought his freedom.
The 42-year-old singer further appealed to record label owners to stop mistreating their signees.

Popular Nigerian singer Oxlade has faced heavy criticism for allegedly showing fake love to his late colleague, Mohbad, after his death.
This controversy arose when he took to social media to mourn Mohbad’s sudden demise and shared a screenshot of a message he sent to him in 2018.
However, the screenshot revealed that he had restricted Mohbad from reaching him on Instagram, implying that Mohbad wouldn’t be able to see when he was online or had read his message.
The restricted account setting also ensures that Mohbad’s chat will no longer appear in his chat list, but he will still be able to search for it when he is ready to respond.
Furthermore, he didn’t respond to the said message in which Mohbad had praised his voice.

Popular Nigerian comedian Abdulgafar Ahmad, better known as Cute Abiola has revealed his plans to reconcile the parents of the late singer Mohbad.
Recall that Mohbad’s mother came to beg for justice for her son, as she knew he was murdered, to the shock of many who believed her to be dead.
The comedian, who shared a video of himself pleading with the mother, revealed that the parents haven’t been on speaking terms for over 15 years and he planned to correct it.
According to him, the best way for them to get justice for their son was for the couple to seek it together.

Reality TV stars, Whitemoney and DeeOne, recently had a faceoff on the microblogging platform, X, after the latter made a derogatory remark about the former.
It all started when DeeOne went online to mock Whitemoney after he was evicted from the BBNaija All Stars house on Sunday night, September 17.
The comedian who was a housemate in the Double Wahala season of the reality TV show tweeted,

Nigerian music executive Kevin Madison, also known as K-Solo, has boldly declared that Naira Marley is involved in the demise of his former signee, Mohbad.
During an interview with Channels TV on Sunday, September 17, K-Solo asserted that the Marlian Music boss cannot deny his involvement in Mohbad’s death, given that he failed to protect him from the constant intimidation, assault, and harassment he suffered before his death.
He stated this in reaction to Naira Marley’s official statement, where he distanced himself from the death of the talented 27-year-old singer.
It will be recalled that Mohbad passed away on Tuesday, September 12, under controversial circumstances.
His passing has since ignited outrage on social media, particularly after multiple videos surfaced showing him being harassed and assaulted by individuals allegedly associated with Naira Marley and his record label.

A U.S-based show promoter has announced the cancellation of Marlian Music signee, Oniyide Azeez better known as Zinoleesky’s upcoming tour.
Sharing this news on social media, the show promoter explained that Zinoleesky’s tour, originally scheduled for this month, had to be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.

The first lady of Marlian Music,Tori Keeche, has called out an impostor posing as her on social media, who made damning allegations against her label boss, Naira Marley.
A series of posts surfaced on social media last night in which the person claiming to be Tori revealed that she left the record label after allegedly overhearing plans to harm Mohbad.
These posts emerged days after the former label signee, Mohbad, passed away under strange circumstances and was quickly laid to rest in Ikorodu.
The alleged impostor claimed to have run away upon hearing their plans to execute the singer but was brought back to the label house, and was forced out of her Instagram account.
She also alleged that she was forced to sleep with a wealthy man in exchange for the usage of his private jet and was forced to consume drugs.
Speaking further, ‘Tori’ claimed that Naira Marley’s sister, Shubomi, was aware of the plan to harm Mohbad and supported it.

A Nigerian lawmaker, Hon. Dickson Tarkighir, has threatened to file a ₦10 billion lawsuit against BBNaija star Venita Akpofure and the show organizers for defaming the TIV tribe.
Hon. Dickson, who represented Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency in Benue State in the House of Representatives, took to Facebook to express his grievance with Venita and BBNaija organizers over a statement she made.
The 36-year-old actress had claimed that Tiv men give their wives to visitors for ‘entertainment purposes,’ implying that they allow their wives to sleep with their guests for entertainment.
This statement did not sit well with many TIV people, and they trooped to social media to criticize her and called for legal action against her.

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to share how he lost a good woman due to his belief that they were incompatible based on their genotype.
The man identified as Osoyinka shared his shocking journey of self-discovery on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
Osoyinka claimed that based on earlier test results, he had always assumed that he shared the AS genotype with all of his siblings.
His life, however, took a different turn when he admitted that he had passed up a chance to date a woman because he thought their AS genotypes were incompatible.

Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad’s father, Mr Joseph Aloba has continued to defend Naira Marley, the ex-boss of his deceased son, in regards to claims that he was responsible for Mohbad’s demise.
In the midst of the battle for the late singer’s justice, Mr. Joseph Aloba is heard giving arguments as to why his son’s former boss shouldn’t be a suspect in a leaked audio discussion.
Despite the issues between his late son and Naira Marley, Mr. Joseph maintained that the latter had no agenda to harm him.
The few occasions that the Marlian group attacked Mohbad, he said, were solely done to demonstrate their superiority and force him to pay attention because he was being stubborn.

He claimed that because he married a second woman, people have been spreading all kinds of stories about him and tarnishing his reputation, but nobody has come up to defend him.
Yul went on to say that he could have been killed or driven to depression by the taunting, cursing, and insults he endured for more than a year, but thanks to God, who strengthened his mind.

A Nigerian woman, who identified herself as the mother of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad,, has alleged that her son was killed and did not die a natural death or a mistake.
The agonized mother made a video to reveal that she was still alive and could not come out to speak as she was mourning her son.
According to her, she did not believe he died from an ear infection because she knew of his many troubles with his record label.
Speaking in her native dialect, she begged for justice for her son’s untimely demise as she laid curses on whomever was involved in his death.
She said;
“My son didn’t die a natural death; he was killed. Whoever killed my son, that person’s home will become troubled. They will face war and curses.”
The glory of the child in their home will diminish because of those who killed him and their sons.”
I am not dead; I am alive. My son didn’t find rest, and I couldn’t speak up whenever he was falsely accused because I wasn’t given the chance.”
I asked my son what happened, and he gave me money to go to the hospital.”

I am his life and heaven. He said he came home because he heard something had happened.”
He said he was taken and given water, and then he didn’t know what happened to him anymore. Since then, I’ve been on the matter.”

The management of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad, has issued an official statement revealing that he was in court to reclaim his songs and unpaid royalties from his former record label, Marlian Music.
In the statement released on Saturday, September 16, they disclosed that the deceased singer, who tragically passed away on Tuesday, was engaged in a legal battle to regain control of his music catalog from his estranged record label.
They expressed their commitment to seeking justice for the late singer and continuing the fight to recover his catalog, ensuring that his five-month-old son, Liam, and other family members are provided for.

An old video of deceased singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, recounting his ordeal and how he was betrayed by his colleague, Zinoleesky, has resurfaced.
In the throwback video, the late singer was on a hospital bed as he tearfully narrated how he was accused of taking drugs and made to ingest a white substance.
Speaking in Yoruba, the singer explained that he had tried to protect his colleague, Zinoleesky, during the attack, but it was Zinoleesky himself who snitched on him.
His words,
“I was made to drink a substance that I know nothing about, but every other person wasn’t given that same drink, they said I was always on drugs, I’ve always trusted them with my heart and that’s why they were able to do all this to me. I was even saving Zinoleesky when my head was hit with a gun! The same Zinoleesky now snitched on me and did me dirty! Heavenly Father is my witness, I can’t lie against them!”
It is believed that the late singer was referring to the incident in February 2022 when he and his colleague, Zinoleesky, were arrested by NDLEA officials after their home in Idado estate, Lagos, was raided.
The father of late Nigerian singer Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has stated that Naira Marley cannot be blamed for his son’s death.
In a recent interview with an24 TV, Mr. Joseph Aloba clarified that Naira Marley was not present during his son’s final moments and therefore cannot be held responsible.
The grieving father described his son as his friend, helper, and the light of their family.
Speaking on what might have killed his son, Mr Aloba said,
“The only revelation that I have on that very day is that a day to his death, I had a dream. I saw someone in the front of my house holding a gun. In the dream, I dodged the bullet. On that very Tuesday, I decided to stay at home, praying concerning the dream I had. By 4 O’clock, they called me that I should come to VI to meet him at the hospital. On my way there, at the bus stop, they called me again that I should go back home and that everything has been settled. As an elderly person, I knew that there was something behind that. That is not something they can tell me at the busstop. So I refused. I now went back to his house. I reached his house. He was already dead.”
When asked for the identity of the people that took Mohbad to the hospital before he died, he responded;
“I don’t know exactly who they are. I can only blame them that they allowed an auxiliary nurse to be working on him in that level because Mohbad is not the kind of person they can put in a room and call a nurse. Which kind of nurse? Is she qualified? Mere looking at what happened, that is not a qualified nurse, giving him injection inside a room. Maybe it is the effect of the injection that resulted to this because according to them, after giving him the injection, he was vomiting. One of his boys now decided that they should put him on an ‘Okada’ so they can take him to the hospital. That is what I heard from them.”
Responding to rumours that he was rushed to the hospital with head and neck injuries, Mr Joseph said, “It is not neck. The injury is on the hand.”
He explained that one of Mohbad’s close friends met him at a show and they exchanged pleasantries. However, the singer’s associates were displeased with the way they greeted each other and they confronted his friend.
They requested that the friend disengage from Mohbad, but Mohbad insisted that his friend stay with him. He even permitted his friend to join him in the car they were driving in.
Subsequently, he was informed that when they reached their destination, Mohbad became upset and sustained an injury to his hand.
“That very day, he did not complain to anybody, It was the following day that the hand became swollen and that was when they called a nurse. I don’t know the type of nurse they called,” he said.
According to the father, he did not receive any information from the doctors as his son’s corpse was already home when he got to his residence.
“I am the one that decided that they should pick him up to Ikorodu for his burial. My belief is that God that gives and God that takes”
In response to how he handled his son’s complaints that Naira Marley and others were assaulting him, the distraught father said,
“I tried my best to reach Naira Marley but everything was in vain. When this issue happened, I wanted to trek to his house but I was scared because I didn’t know what I will meet there. There was a time that Naira Marley called me, for me to call him back was not possible. Someone that you do not have contact with, it will be difficult for you to reach him.
I heard a lot of things happened to him but you cannot say it’s Naira Marley because he was attacked when he was doing his new album with ZLatan. We cannot say it is Naira Marley because the people that came is not Naira Marley, so we can’t say it’s Naira Marley that did it’‘
He also debunked claims that his late son was into drugs.

On Friday, September 15, 2023, Justice O.A. Egwuatu of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, delivered a verdict of guilt and imposed a one-year prison sentence on Ukoh Michael Odeh. This conviction stemmed from a single count charge of fraud levied against him by the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC, in a statement, revealed that the convict found himself entangled in legal proceedings following an intelligence report received by the Makurdi Zonal Command. This report raised concerns about suspicious activities attributed to individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Makurdi, leading to Odeh’s subsequent apprehension in a sting operation.
It reads ;
“That you, Ukoh Michael Odeh, between 2022 and 2023 in Makurdi, Benue State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did fail to account for the source of N6,000,000 (Six Million Naira) only in your account when you reasonably ought to have known or suspected that the said unaccounted funds formed part of the proceeds of an unlawful activity to wit: Fraud and Money laundering and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 20 (a) of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022 and punishable under Section 20(b) of the same Act”.

Media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa has said that if she had a kid with her husband, Ayida Maje she would have stayed in her marriage.
Recall that in 2015, Toke Makinwa and Maje Ayida divorced when it was learned that his ex-girlfriend was carrying his child.
However, the actress acknowledged that she would have had to make sacrifices if she had a child in the marriage on the most recent edition of her podcast, TokeMoments.
According to her, most women stay in unhealthy marriages because of their kids, and she was not judging them because she may have done the same thing.

A 22-year-old houseboy has been arrested in Ghana for murdering his employer and absconding with some of her belongings, including her car.
The young man, identified as John Alister, was apprehended on Thursday, September 14, several days after he committed the heinous crime.
It was gathered that Alister, who was employed as a house help for his employer, Afia Ahenkan, brutally stabbed her to death on Friday, September 8.
After the fatal incident, he fled the scene and carted away her car, phone, and various other possessions.
According to Ghanaweb, the houseboy used the victim’s phone to engage in conversations, posing as her and sending messages to her friends and close acquaintances.
Upon interrogation, the young man confessed to the crime and admitted to selling her car and phone.
Local reports state that the incident happened on September 6 in Muwalo Village, Thyolo District, Malawi.
George Kaleso, senior superintendent of the Masambanjati Police, confirmed the suicide in a statement.
According to Kaleso, the pair was hired to perform piecework in gardening and received K12,000, which the wife kept.
“Yesterday, when Mr. Kondwani asked for his share, the wife told him she had donated the money to their local church,” he said.
He claimed that the woman’s admission sparked a contentious quarrel between the couple. Sadly, the man was later discovered hanging from the roof of the church where the money was donated.
Nigerian rapper, Cynthia Morgan has opened up about her experience with her former record label, Northside Music.
Cynthia, who was formerly signed to the record label owned by Jude Okoye, highlighted the alleged unpleasant experience she had with the label.
Sharing her story on her Instagram page following the death of 27-year-old singer Mohbad, Cynthia revealed that Jude Okoye cannot look at her eyeball to eyeball till date.

Nigerian actress, Adeyela Adebola, better known as Lizzy Jay, has taken to social media to share her experience with a blackmailer who has a private video of hers.
In a 15-minute video, she revealed that she fell seriously ill few months ago and was prescribed antibiotics and opiods. However, she suffered a severe adverse reaction to these medications, experiencing symptoms like skin itching, rashes, and bleeding from her private area.
She said she had to contact her male friend who happened to be a doctor via WhatsApp and described her condition. The doctor then requested that she sends a video of the affected area to be examined.
She explained that she was initially hesistant about sharing the video because he was a friend, however, she eventually decided to. She made a video using her Snapchat and cropped the part she wanted him to see.
She sent this edited video to him, and he confirmed that her symptoms were indeed a reaction to the drugs, advising her to discontinue their use. She then deleted the video from her Snapchat.
However, she recently started receiving comments on her page from someone claiming to possess her private videos and threatening to release them.
Initially, she dismissed these claims as bluffs because she was confident that nobody had her explicit content. Subsequently, the blackmailer escalated the situation by sending her threatening emails.
She revealed that the blackmailer used her hacked email address, which happened to be the same one she had previously used for her Snapchat and other social media accounts before she changed it.
She explained that the blackmailer went on to post the video on Instagram and drew her attention to it. In response, she seized the opportunity to gather information about him from his Instagram highlights.
Despite the threats, Lizzy Jay remained resolute, refusing to comply with the blackmailer’s demands. In response, the blackmailer vowed to send the video to various blogs and upload it on TikTok.
However, Lizzy Jay firmly told the blackmailer that she would not give in to his demands by sending him any money. Instead, she would use the funds to find his whereabouts rather than succumb to his threats.
Lizzy captioned the video,

Big Brother All stars house guest, Omashola Oburoh, has revealed that he intended to enter the house in style with a live goat.
The Delta-born model revealed this to other housemates CeeC, Pere, Neo, and White Money on Thursday during a chat.
Omashola, who was first presented as a house guest (fake housemate) three weeks ago, disclosed that Biggie turned down his plea for permission to bring a goat on stage.
He said:
“When I was coming, I wanted to come in here with a goat, live goat, he tell me say never. Even, I told him a baby goat, he said forget that goat.”
The reality TV star did not let the refusal stop him as he entered the house in goat-themed attire.
Viewers found it interesting that Sholzy wanted to mount the stage while walking with a goat and they suggested that Biggie should have allowed it to happen just to spice up the reality show.
