A federal judge has thrown out the murder conviction of a Queens man imprisoned since 2002 for killing a tenant patrol leader in a fusillade of gunfire at a Far Rockaway housing project.
Tullie (Birdie) Hyman must be released from state prison within 90 days.
Hyman has maintained that he is innocent and that he was falsely implicated in the shooting by witness Shaquana Ellis, who has since recanted her trial testimony.
“Until today, the criminal justice system has failed Tullie and his family,” said his appeals lawyer Mark DeMarco.
According to the NYDaily News, Brooklyn Federal Judge Raymond Dearie ruled Wednesday that it’s clear that Ellis did not witness the shooting.
Hyman’s former lawyer had hired a private eye who determined it was impossible for Ellis to have seen what she claimed from the vantage point of a third-floor window, but the investigator did not testify at Hyman’s trial due to a fee dispute.
Hyman is serving 21 years to life for the murder.
Ellis testified at a hearing in Brooklyn Federal Court last December that she was threatened at gunpoint to finger Hyman as the shooter, but she could not identify who made the threat because she claimed he was wearing a bandana across his face.
“That night, me walking home, my life and my family’s life was threatened. I had no choice,” she testified. The gunman “said if I didn’t point Tullie out (to the police) they were gonna come and kill me and my family.” She said she came forward because “I’ve been living with this lie for years, and I want the truth to be told.”
A two year old boy, Samuel Akpuafor jnr, who is said to be the only child of his parents was abducted in May this year.
According to The Nation, Samuel who was born 10 years after marriage was kidnapped while he was eating outside at his parents Okokomaiko home in May 19th.
Father of the missing child, Samuel Akpuafor, said his world collapsed when his only child was abducted.
“That boy is my everything; My mother, my father, everything. It is as if my heart was divided into two and one killed. I have not been able to concentrate. I have not been able to think straight. I just cannot understand how that was possible. It was around 12pm on May 19, when I got a call that they were looking for my son. They had just returned from Thursday prayers and my housemaid gave him potato to eat. He was eating the potato outside and the housemaid was with him. She said a woman came into the compound that she was pressed and she directed her to the restroom. After easing herself, she said the woman came back and told her she was waiting for someone. Being a small girl, she did not suspect anything. She left the woman and then went inside to do something while my son was still eating outside. But when she came out, she only saw the plate of potato without my son and the woman was gone as well. They started looking for him and did not see him. That was how they called me. Since that time, no one knew how the woman took him away and no one saw him. I have gone to all the police stations in this area with his picture. I have also gone to the radio room but we have not seen him yet. I have been devastated since then. I have just been managing to survive. My wife too has been moving from church to church since she returned from the east. We are begging anyone with our son to bring him back. He’s the only child we have.” Only recently, two women were apprehended while trying to steal children in the area. In the last three months, cases of child kidnapping have been on the increase in the area. Ezindu Nwosu whose four-year-old son, Chibuzor, was kidnapped on June 24th while he was playing in front of his grandmother’s house in the same Okokomaiko area, said more than 10 kids have gone missing in three weeks. “There have been more than 10 missing children in the past three weeks. The thing is very rampant in this area. My son’s disappearance is still a mystery. They usually go to my wife’s mother’s house which is behind Okoko market whenever they close from school. Then, when we are done with our day’s business, we come there and pick them up. On that day, they came back as usual and after eating, his older brother went to sleep, while himself and his sister were playing at an open space in-front of the house. It was around 5:30pm. And so, my daughter came to meet me at my wife’s shop, which is less than 10 minutes walk from my mother-in-law’s place. I told her to go and bring her brothers while I walked behind her. But when she got there, she could not find him. They looked everywhere and no one saw him. I got there and we started asking people and no one knew anything. That’s just how it happened. I have gone to the police station and reported. I have not been able to go to the market since then. All I want is to get my son back. We just want him back. We have been moving from church to church and they keep telling us he’s still alive. I am begging the government, police and even those who took him to bring him back to us.”

Christ Apostolic Church’s Pastor Segun Adeyinka has begged a Customary Court in Alimosho Lagos to end his marriage of 22 years to his wife, Mrs Folake Adeyinka because she is always disgracing him in front of his church members.
Yesterday, at the Alimosho Customary court, he said:
“My wife usually disgraces me in public and in my church. She has made many church members to leave the church. She doesn’t want to see people around me. She is making people to run away from me.
If my church members give me something, she believes she must have a share of it. We always fight. My wife also doesn’t want to hear that I don’t have money. Anytime I tell her that I don’t have money, she would start fighting me. I don’t earn salary.
It is what my church members give to me that we share at home. Still, she is not satisfied.”
He urged the court to give him custody of their four children. Before the case was adjourned to September 5, 2016 for further hearing, Folake responded by saying she still loved her husband and did not want the marriage to be dissolved.
According to her, she doesn’t have another husband, except Adeyinka. She added: “I’ll not disgrace him anymore in the public or in church. My husband and I have separated for two years now. He moved his things gradually out of our home until nothing remains.”..

Reality TV star, Khloe Kardashian has made it crystal clear that she’s not going to tolerate Lamar Odom’s recent behavior – one where he puked all over his body on a plane.
In line with the news of the NBA star’s alleged flight incident on Monday, E! News gathered that Khloe is trying to move on, but feels sensitive against the criticism she’s been receiving in response to doing so.
“Khloe put her whole life on hold,” a source close to Lamar tells E! News, adding that those around him are feeling “helpless.”
The insider continues to recall that Khloe “stopped her [divorce] since he ran out of health insurance and got him a huge, safe home away from the mess,” but she “wants babies one day, and he can’t give her that life, so she will always support him and be there to help him if needed, but can’t wait for him.”
Kardashian was on the receiving end of some criticism for not putting her life on pause with the latest incident, and the source explains that Khloe is “sensitive” when it comes to judging her actions with Lamar.
“Her heart has always been with him and she gets very sensitive with people’s opinions when she decides to move on, because that doesn’t mean she didn’t try everything.”
Another source talks to E! News about what potentially led to Lamar’s troubling behavior, explaining that a specific incident “set him off” and gave him the “excuse” he needed.
“Something happened on Monday and it sent him over the edge. He had been doing really good until that moment but whatever it was set him off,” the source tells us.
“He has been living in a home in the valley and a friend has been staying with him as well and keeping an eye on him. And after the incident happened, Lamar basically took off and that was it. He doesn’t have a cell phone, so no one could find him. He is incredibly sensitive and obviously is weak when it comes to substances and he just flipped. It gave him the excuse he needed.”
“Now he is on the east coast and he is hanging out with old friends who used to be a bad influence on him,. “He is meant to be there as a surprise for his son’s birthday, but he has not been in touch with any of the people who have been trying to keep him sober for the past month.”
One of the reasons why we love her is her low-key lifestyle, she’s so drama free and less controversial, no scandalous acts just one fine songstress who wins the heart of many whenever she drops a single or releases new photos – like these ones!
The beautiful EME first lady, Niyola looks all glorious and elegant as she featured in a new photo shoot with Oye Diran – the beauty has the perfect skin tone and the smile of a goddess.
Nollywood actresses, Adunni Ade and Mercy Aigbe Gentry, were both in a radio interview recently – Adunni was replying the presenter on her opinion of wearing something too kinky like bum shorts in her matrimonial home, trying to buttress her point, she turned to married Mercy Aigbe Gentry, asking her if she could relate and Aigbe’s response was just priceless!
The beautiful actress, who celebrated her daughter’s birthday few days ago, exclaimed and opposed Adunni’s motion stating that she will wear bum shorts in her home so that “toothpicks girls” will not snatch her husband from.
“I wear bumshots so that all those toothpick leg girls will not snatch my husband. I do oh…I do”
OF course after the news went viral, Fans however had some bad news for her..One said:
if you like wear g. string around your kitchen a man that will cheat on you will, nothing will stop him. Pray for a decent &God fearing man, shekina!!!
Another said:
“If you are doing that so that your man would not be snatched, then I pity you. You never jam serious snatchers. Any man that wants to be snatched would be snatched. If you like do snake in monkey’s shadow style on the bed. Just pray to God. That is the only factor that can keep your home.”
You Fine Reach Caroline Danjuma? That was a troll response to her, see below:

Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose has responded to a June 22nd letter by counsel to Mrs. Buhari, Mary Ekpere & Co, demanding a retraction of the governor’s statement that her client (Mrs. Buhari) was involved in the Halliburton scandal.
The legal firm threatened a legal action, if the retraction was not made within five days.
In response, he has advised wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, to wait till end of his tenure on October 16, 2018, to sue him for defamation.
Fayose, in a letter by his counsel, Mike Ozekhome, a copy of which was made available to reporters in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, reads:
“Our client has referred to us your letter of June 22, 2016, on the alleged defamation of the character of your client, the wife of Muhammadu Buhari, with firm instructions to reply to and reject same.
“Our client states and reaffirms that the statement he made as regards the involvement of Mrs. Aisha Buhari, in the Halliburton scandal, is correct and justified in law; having regards to a court judgment convicting Mr. William Jefferson for bribery in the Halliburton case.
“Therein, the name of the President’s wife featured conspicuously. On Page 22 of the judgment delivered by the United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division, USA, in Criminal No 1: 07CR209, Mr. William Jefferson was sentenced at 9 am on November 13, 2009, by Mark D, Lytle. Your client, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, was mentioned in the judgment. The judge referred to exhibits 36-87 in the following words, for clarification;
“See also Government Exhibits 36-87 (6/26/02 $170,000 wire transfer from account in Nigeria in the name of Aisha Buhari to an account in the name of The ANJ Group, LLC, identifying “William Jefferson” as beneficiary)… Given the age of the defendant, the severity of the sentence calculated by the Probation Office, the defendant’s frequent travel overseas and unexplained wire transfers from overseas locations to financial accounts used by the defendant, the defendant cannot rebut the presumption at sentencing that he is a risk of flight.”
“Williams Jefferson is serving a jail term in the USA and to the best of our client’s knowledge, this judgment has not been challenged or set aside by any appellate court of law anywhere in the world.
“The statement of our client, is therefore correct and justified, same having been factually premised on an existing court judgment above referred to.”
On the immunity enjoyed by Fayose against civil and criminal proceedings, the senior advocate said: “Your attention is also drawn to Section 308 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as altered, on the immunity enjoyed by our client from civil or criminal proceedings for the period that he occupies the office of the governor of Ekiti State.
“You may, therefore, advise your client to wait until after October 16, 2018, when our client’s tenure expires. When that happens, we shall join issues with your client in a competent court of law, in the event that your client does not have a change of heart.”

The news spread like wild fire burning through a dry bush after he shared on IG that he will be launching his own record label soon and we should watch out for that – this motion of his caused a social media frenzy as people reported that he was at loggerheads with his business partner, Ubi Franklin.
Iyanya, has now come out say that he doesn’t have a problem with Ubi and not even his wife, whom many reported seems to be the cause of the duo’s problems.
Not being particular about leaving the group or nah, he took to IG earlier, just to quench the reports that he is fighting with Ubi…
Below is what he wrote:
“”All this r lies …I’m not fighting Ubi ..his wife is the best woman in the world for him,she is a good woman.she’s a good cook too.you guys please chill.all ????? …@lilianesoroo @ubifranklintriplemg G”
This certainly doesn’t categorically change anything, for what it’s worth, he may not be fighting with Ubi, but he is leaving the MMMG group…
They say that a man who has no shame in showing his emotions is not a weak one but is stronger and far much better than those who hide their true feelings.

An eye witness disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that three other persons, who sustained severe injuries from the incident, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
It was gathered that those that rushed to the scene of the incident and assisted in the rescue mission included the Commissioner of Police in the State, Hosea Karma and the Divisional Police Officer in Ogidi, Hassan Musa.
The state police boss, Karma, who described the death of the artisans as ‘unfortunate and untimely,’ urged the people in the area to take heart and prayed for the repose of the souls of the dead, adding that the corpses of the deceased had been taken to Iyi-Enu Hospital’s morgue.

Images of a young Kenyan lady who posed in a pool of cash, flaunting wads and stacks of cash all over Instagram has got social media buzzing with her actions.
The young lady who has been identified as Lisa Martinez has turned heads towards her with loads of them questioning her source of wealth.
She really is swimming in money literally though… look at her in a bathtub of money… Hehe… Photos below:
This is a true life story: Please I want people to help me out here. I proposed to my girlfriend of 8 months last 2 week and we agreed to visit her home last Sunday. I have always dropped her off around the place but I have never entered the house because I wasn’t yet ready to meet the parent because we were just dating then and I wasn’t yet sure that she was the one for me.
Meanwhile all these while, my girl was only referring to her mum so I subconsciously concluded that the father is late. So last Sunday, I got to their house at Agege pen Cinema and what I saw was very sad. I saw a man looking so haggard in the sitting room…
I greeted him, he answered in a very low tone and welcomed me. My girls mum soon came out to the sitting room and also greeted me. We exchanged pleasantries before my girl came out to join us in the discuss. At a point my girls mum brought out money and asked the haggard man to go and buy fuel so that they can put on the generator for me so that Heat will not disturb me.
We discussed at length after the man left.
To cut the long story short, after the meeting we fixed another date for the second meeting that I was supposed to attend with a family member. When I was about leaving, I gave them some money and some to the man and he fell on his knees thanking me as if he has never owned N1000 in his entire life. When my girl was seeing me off, I asked her who the man was and lo and behold, it was her father. I couldn’t believe my ears. it was like a rude joke. It was unbelievable.
She must has sensed my confusion before she started telling me stories of how the man maltreated her mum when he had money, how he married another wife who squandered all his money and left them in penury. She said he used to beat her mum and all sorts.
Since that Sunday till now, I have no peace. I was thinking and imagining how a right thinking woman and her daughter can comfortably relegate the man of the house to a mere houseboy. That Sunday, the man was wearing a torn knicker and a white singlet that I wont even use to clean my car.
Even my wife to be hushed him down when he came back and wanted to keep the fuel change to himself. Something is wrong somewhere. A woman who could treat her husband like this… I have not even picked her call since that Sunday evening.
I am worried and I don’t think I should marry from that family.
