MMM Office beats top websites, becomes the 6th most visited website in Nigeria

mmm-1

Despite the campaign by the House of Representatives, Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation and other financial bodies against the viral Ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Movement, MMM, it has has continued to flourish due to the seeming hunger to make quick money.

MMM rides on the wings of belief, greed and a failing economy to flourish in Nigeria despite its negative history and bad publicity as a Ponzi scheme.

Nigerians have found solace in the scheme in the face of scathing economic hardship that has compounded the woes of the masses. As at today – 11th of November, 2016, MMM Office which is the basecamp of the pyramid community became the 6th most visited website in Nigeria according to Alexa.com

Google.com ranked as the most visited site in Nigeria according to Alexa ratings. This was followed by Google.com.ng, Youtube.com, Yahoo.com, Facebook.com and MMM Office gallantly occupies the 6th position.

This is a yardstick to measure the heavy patronage enjoyed by the website which promises a 30% return on investment for Nigeria running helter-skelter for financial cover.

It would be recalled that online money making ventures, whether genuine or not, seem to always find entry and acceptance within the Nigerian populace. Several systems have come and gone, with over 90% of them ending up as well orchestrated scams, yet every new entry finds a way of being embraced by Nigerians.

MMM has since being banned in China and South Africa for monumental fraud.

Why I don’t wear bra – Actress, Feyisara Hassan

feyisara

Fast rising Yoruba actress and producer, Feyisara Hassan who recently threw the social media into pandemonium with a braless picture she posted has opened up on her action.

When Potpourri asked the actress what prompted her to post the picture, her answer was simple.

She said, “I don’t put on bra. In fact, I don’t like it. I only put on a bra when necessary and most times it is because of my boyfriend, he doesn’t like seeing me without wearing a bra. So, sometimes, I put it on because of him.”

When asked what reasons she had for not liking the bra, she answered saying, “What do I need a bra for when I have good boobs. I have very good boobs, so no need of bra.”

When teased that her boobs are not exactly big and conspicuous, she retorted, “Must you have big boobs to have nice boobs? All I know is that, mine are very nice.”

Feyisara Hassan started acting in 2011 and already, she has produced at least five movies of her own, namely, Rokun Rosa, Fikayomi, Ipinle Ese, Aye Asan and Asian. She has also featured in almost 40 films of others production.

“I Guard My Private Affairs With My Life” – Mode 9 On Why He’s Very Secretive.

mode-nine

41 year old veteran rapper, Mode 9, has given reasons why his life is kept away from the social media and ‘prying’ public, adding that he guards his private affairs with his life.

Speaking with the Punch, the Hip hop star said,

“I am not going to answer personal questions and if you notice my modus operandi, I guard my personal life with my life. I tell my family members to shy away from the press.

“My interviews are about my works; I drop an album and I want you to buy it. I don’t want people to know about my personal life, because I am an artiste and not a celebrity. I don’t do music to be famous. Everybody has a reason behind their action and I do music because I am good at it.

“Why do I need to be famous? It is a lie that the person in my life may feel bad that I don’t talk about her during interviews. If your wife works in a bank and you are an artiste, you don’t go to her bank and sit down.

“Likewise an entertainer, your spouse may come for a few shows but not every one of them because she knows you would not give her all your attention. Some people like to put their family in the limelight like the Kardashians but others don’t because they are private people and the fans need to respect that fact.

“I follow rappers like KRS One in America and I have never woken up one day to find out who his wife is. I don’t care about any other thing but his music because I am a fan of his music.

“There are some people that are just too nosy and want to know everything about a person. You cannot know everything about me. I am from a different era, and in my era, we only follow the music and ignore every other thing,” the award winning rapper added.

“You’re A White Man, You Don’t Get To Define What Racism Is” – Chimamanda Adichie Shuts Down White Man In Interview.

chimamanda-bbc

In BBC’s Late Night Show hosted by Emily Maitlis, the theme question was “Is Donald Trump racist?” Nigerian award winning novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie had a feisty clash with her co-guest, Editor in-chief of The American Spectator, R Emmett Tyrrel.

While Tyrrel was giving reasons why Donald Trump cannot be regarded as a racist, despite the statements he made during his campaign train and the fact that white supremacist group Ku Klux Klan (KKK) publicly endorsed him, Chimamanda cut him off with ‘You are a white man and you don’t get to define what racism is.

Just Days After His Project Defence, Osun Poly Graduate Screams From Sleep And Dies. (Photo)

felix

Students and staff members of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, have been thrown into mourning after the sudden death of a fresh graduate of the institution, Felix Agandi, who died barely four days after he defended his undergraduate project.

One of Agandi’s coursemates told Punch on the telephone on Friday that he was dropped at his residence by one of his friends at around 10pm on Monday night.

The coursemate stated that the 27-year-old graduate of Mass Communication was an orphan, who struggled to finance his education from his national diploma days to the time he finished his Higher National Diploma programme.(HND)

The deceased’s neighbours were said to have rushed him to a hospital after he was heard suddenly screaming from his sleep but he was reportedly certified dead right inside the car before he arrived hospital on Tuesday morning.

He said, “We are all in a pensive mood in Iree now because of Felix’s death, who screamed from his sleep and died shortly after that.

The remains of the Delta State-born student were said to have been buried at Ilesa, Osun State, where he lived with his siblings on the same day.

A lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, Mr. Tope Abiola, who is also the Public Relations Officer of the institution, confirmed the death of Agandi.

He said that the management of the school had visited the deceased’s siblings to commiserate with them.

Abiola said,

“The death of the student is still a big shock to everyone of us. We were told that he died in his sleep. He died just some days after he defended his project. There were few corrections made on his project and he was supposed to submit the corrected version when he died.

“He was a cool and hardworking young man. I learnt that he was an orphan but he was focused and determined but unfortunately death snatched him away. May his soul rest in peace.”

Checkout This Unique Fish-Shaped Coffin Akwa Ibom Man Was Buried In. (Photos)

According to a Facebook user, Essien Ndueso, who is the Special Assistant to the Akwa-Ibom state Governor on Media, an Akwa-Ibom man opted to “swim to eternal bliss” in a fish shaped casket.

Could it be that the man loved eating fish, or he was a fisherman or came from the great ‘Iyak’ family?
I witnessed this scene on Nwaniba road this morning around St Luke’s Hospital.

Note, i didnt say the man turned into a fish o, i only saw a fishlike casket.. perhaps my friend Uwemedimoh Umanah who owns a fish farm and also loves fisherman soup can explain this better why a man would choose to swim to eternal glory.

Happy weekend folks

“Dear Tekno, you are still an upcoming artiste, accept the Headies next rated award”

tekkno

For Tekno to fully claim to be a bona fide star who has peaked, he has to diversify his artistry, and provide more than just singles to back that claim up. He needs albums, he needs to sell records, he needs to be more than what he is now.

There’s a popular saying originating from the Igbos (the predominant tribe in Eastern Nigeria where Tekno has his roots,) which says: “Adikwana ka nwa nza rijulu afo, we je chere chi ya aka mgba.” This saying translates into English as “Do not be like the little nza bird that ate and drank and challenged his personal god to a combat.”

In other words, do not test fortune, or be disrespectful to fate higher powers, just because you are on a good run.

Tekno has shown immense arrogance, disrespect and ingratitude towards Nigeria’s most prestigious awards, The Headies, and worse still, the organizers and owners of the platform – HipTV.

The star was nominated for the Next Rated category, but his hit singles ‘Duro’ and ‘Pana’ failed to make the list, due to no one’s fault. Why was ‘Duro’ and ‘Pana’, the hottest singles of the singer missing from the list? Why didn’t these songs which has rocked Nigeria from every corner sit tall on the list?

The answer is no one’s fault. This isn’t a conspiracy to shut out the boy wonder from the awards, neither was politics a huge part of it. Tekno submitted his singles as entries for the awards. But in a classic case of coincidence, bad luck or poor karma, his release dates for the singles worked against him.

The year in review for the Headies 2016 states that every project released in the time frame of July 2015 – June 2016 will be considered. Tekno’s hit songs did not fall in the dates. ‘Duro’ was released in June 2015, essentially disqualifying it from consideration, and our current pop drug, ‘Pana’ was let fly in July 2016. That means his singles were released a month before and a month after consideration.

That has to hurt. Everyone understands that. But it is no one’s fault. But as consolation and a representation of his current status, he is nominated for the prestigious and rewarding Next Rated category, which is a voting category for the most promising upcoming act in the year under review.

Tekno has been far from promising. He has soared in the past two years, and the Next Rated trophy looks like it belongs to him already on paper.

But it could have been more for him. Without the eligibility of ‘Duro’ and ‘Pana’, which are sure-fire award-winning materials, it feels a bit short for him. In many ways, he is the biggest loser of the Headies, who will be left ruing what would have been.

But instead of taking this as a mistake, and graciously accepting his nomination with thanksgiving, he had to rubbish it too, disrespectfully. The ‘Pana’ hit-maker has now questioned the sense in his nomination as a contender for the ‘Next Rated’ award with a post on Instagram. ‘Next rated after how many years! Let’s be honest pls’

The Headies awards state that “This category is a voting category for the most promising upcoming act in the year under review.” He is nominated alongside, Ycee, Mr Eazi, Humblesmith and Aramide. And let’s be honest, in the year under review, and even at the moment, Tekno is still a very promising upcoming act. The bloke only began professional music in 2012, when he released his debut single ‘Holiday’ featuring Davido. That’s just four years ago.

Tekno remained in the backwaters of Nigerian entertainment until 2015, when ‘Duro’ and ‘Wash’ propped him up, and in 2016, ‘Pana’ made him stay winning. Technically, Tekno only has a 4 hit songs including the 2014 suggestive hit, ‘Dance’. That’s measly, in terms of number of accepted songs. He has no album, neither does he boast of an EP. Tekno’s entire discography consists of loose tracks scattered all around the internet, and he honestly believes that he isn’t upcoming anymore.

That’s delusional.

Tekno is still an upcoming act who has shown promise and is on the rise. He is yet to tap into new territories in terms of artistic delivery. This era has Tekno who is working with a formula that has propelled him to become the prince of African music. There’s a certain method to the production of ‘Duro’, ‘Wash’, ‘Where’, ‘Pana’ and ‘Diana’ that remains consistent, even in the audio and video conceptualization; Dedicate it to a girl, use a catchword/catchphrase, and infuse humor over a mid-tempo beat. Dance for that pretty, light skinned vixen in the visual, and you will score great points.

For Tekno to fully claim to be a bona fide star who has peaked, he has to diversify his artistry, and provide more than just singles to back that claim up. He needs albums, he needs to sell records, he needs to be more than what he is now.

Until then, he has to stay humble, accept what comes to him, and earn higher positions via putting in the work, not rejecting the goodness that the industry gives to him out of a false sense of achievement. Doing that is tantamount to spitting in the face of your good fortune, and testing the powers that set you up for success.

Do not challenge your personal chi.

Lady says she’s madly in love with actor, RMD… then he replies her.

damijos

A lady has written an open letter to relatiosnhip expert, Joro Olumofin to express how much she is in love with married and super hot actor Richard Mofe-Damijo.

She says she has remained single for four years, pushing away a lot of good guys because she can’t imagine being married to anyone apart from RMD.

Below is what she wrote:

rmd-miss

After RMD’s attention was drawn to this SOS from his love struck fan, he gave her a very candid reply on his page.

Below is what he wrote:

“So that’s how you’ll be in your lane minding your business and someone would be making hot yellow eba and efo riro for you abi? but on a more serious and personal note, this is not me trying to ridicule the writer but humour is a great defence mechanism for me so Dear writer, I totally understand how easy it is for you and a couple of others to think you’re “in love” with me and/or other celebrities but what you actually love is the idea of RMD not RMD.

“All of you that want to be with me won’t last a week because I am not the perfect husband or father you may think I am.

“I forget little details, fart in bed with my wife, get impatient with my kids, have mood swings, squeeze the toothpaste tube from the middle, leave wet towels on the bed, yea you may think I’m cool and perfect but Mrs Adejumobi Mofe-Damijo my ONLY wife disagrees and you know what? I agree with her because she is absolutely right and the perfect RMD you perceive is a creation of the woman who genuinely loves me and is there on the sidelines cheering me on and keeping me grounded.

“My prayer for you today is that you find the man for you and give you the wisdom to mold him into perfection. #RMDSaysSo”

“Losing my $1,500 wristwatch on movie location was terrible experience for me” – Actress, Nora Okonkwo

noras

At 25 years of age, she has already acted in at least 50 movies.

She has travelled wide and she commands a wide-range of fans.
A bundle of beauty and brain, she exudes confidence and conviviality with a smack of straightforwardness. Passionate and methodical as an actress, she allows nothing to distract her attention.

A goal-setter and a thoughtful goal-getter, she has learnt the secret of success and stardom. As she claimed, she does not need a man to be a successful woman. Independent and prolific, Nora Okonkwo is perhaps the biggest young female Nollywood star.

Her movies speak for her. Same does her integrity, which she holds dearly.

In spite of her fame and achievement, she still holds a second job as a business developer. Nora, an International Relations graduate and indigene of Okwu-Apkela village, in Iyioma town in Orlu Local Government area of Imo State, speaks with Oge Ezeliora about her life in Jos, her strict father, her pains and gains in the movie industry and what she thinks about men and her teeming fans
– I Respect Genevieve and I Like Mercy Johnson
– Losing $1,500-Wristwatch on Movie Location Was Terrible Experience for Me

Tell us about yourself?
My name is Nora Okonkwo from Imo state – Okwu-Apkela village, in Iyioma town of Orlu Local Government Area, precisely.

What does it take to be a talented actress?
It takes a lot of passion for the job. You know a lot of times younger people would say, ‘No be passion I go chop; na money I want.’

But the truth is what the Bible says, ‘Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all its righteousness and every other thing would be added to you.’ If you seek first the passion of the job, success will follow because the passion will keep you going.

The passion will make you do better things and the money will follow. The job also afforded me the opportunity of meeting important personalities at that time that influenced my life in different ways.

Acting has given me the kind of image that has really guided me from that point to date.

Can you tell us precisely why you chose acting?
I chose acting because I believe I am good. I love entertainment. I love showbiz and I think I have talent in terms of drama. I have tried to do couple of things in life as a career but at one point I felt bored. I also regret at the end. But since I started acting, reverse has been the case. I always feel fulfilled whenever I come back from location. I believe acting is something I do with joy and I am happy at the end of every production. Anytime I watch myself on the screen, I just smile and pray that God should uplift me to be a great actress. I love acting so much and I happy I went for it.

So far how many movies have you done and which of the movies do you hold so dearly?
For now, I have lost count of the movies I have acted in. You know as you are acting, more films are waiting for you. Another issue is that I don’t check the names or write it down somewhere. Remembering all the movies I have acted to date is a bit difficult for me. But frankly speaking, I have acted in over 50 movies and I am still acting. Well, the ones that I hold most dear are: ‘Bank Romance’ and ‘Enough’. I really enjoyed every part of these two movies. It was wonderful; a lot happened with these movies. I can never forget my roles. I gave my best and to date I have never acted any challenging role like I did in those movies.

How old are you?
I am 25 years old.

Will you marry an actor?
There is nothing wrong in marrying a Nollywood actor. If God says Nollywood actor will be my husband, who am I to say no? In marriage, all that matters is love and affection.

Can you act nude for a good fee?
I am highly reserved. I cannot go nude; no matter the amount of money I am offered.

Can you kiss in a movie?
Yes, I can. I am doing my job as an actress.

Looking back, has acting done you good or bad?
Let me say both. Acting has brought me more favour than negative things. Although everything has its own ups and down, I believe I have been uplifted because I am a Nollywood star.

What I cherish most in acting is the experience. Every day, you met people from different places. Both the high and mighty will respect you because you are a known face.

People appreciate us at all times. Acting will expose you to a lot of good things and places. It also helps you to be patient because acting entails a lot of patience. But the bad aspect of it is that you don’t have your privacy. You may not be able to do some of the things you used to do before.

It also exposes you to tolerance. Like some people you may not be able to tolerate as an ordinary person but because you are a star, you will tolerate them. It also exposes you to critics and gossips.

But were they the movies that brought you to limelight?
The movie that brought me to limelight was ‘Enough.’ It was filled with suspense; very interesting and it was a challenging story. I actually fulfilled my aspiration of becoming a good actress. When I started acting at the initial stage, I told myself that my aim was to get to the pinnacle and doing it as a professional which I’m doing very well today. But the first attempt was a glimpse into the reality that yes, I could do that. So it’s quite memorable.

Most of the movies you act are of international standards. Did you study Theatre Arts?
I studied International Relations with a Bsc honours from Imo State University. I wish to go further in my education up to the master’s level by the special grace of God.

How did you feel the first time you faced the camera?
How did I feel? I had to discover a lot the first time I faced the camera. But luckily for me I was on location with famous actors and actresses. So after my first and second attempts, I seemed to be stuttering. So my producer called me aside and gave me some pep talk and encouraged me that I was very good and all I needed was to put more effort and I was happy. I concentrated on what I was doing and since then, I have never looked back and that is why I am where I am today.

What has been the secret behind your success?
It is the God almighty. I must be sincere to you: from one job to another comes success after success. I look forward to the next success. So it is like conquering at every step.

What challenges do you face as a beautiful actress?
The challenge is that the conditions of service as well as our work are not comparable with what is obtainable abroad. The way we work here is like a 24-hour service. It was when I went abroad some time ago that I discovered that in working in this industry, you have a time limit. You have a time to resume and a time to close – eight hours a day. But here, we work more than eight hours a day. We are not complaining but we wish it would be better. We also have the challenge of fees. Of course, we want to be paid more.

Aside acting, what else do you do?
I work with a furniture company called, Cache, which specialises in interior decoration. The company is based in Italy. It has a branch in Nigeria; at Ikoyi, Lagos to be precise. We are into furniture, interior decorations, contracts and I am a business developer. When we have contracts here in Nigeria, we will contact our company in Italy for production and they supply as ordered by our customers. I have my schedule; I can work two times in two weeks and this helps me to attend to other things.

How do you juggle the two jobs?
My second job’s schedule is flexible. It is not too tasking. I can work from anywhere. Like I said, when we have contracts I go to the office and focus on the job and anytime I am called on for my acting job, I also focus on that. I go to work once in a week and that has really helped me to focus more on my acting career.

Can you tell us about your childhood?
Growing up was fun. I was born in Jos, Plateau State. I attended my primary school in Jos and continued in Imo state. Later, we relocated to my hometown.

My mother was a teacher while my father is a businessman. I am the second child of my parents. We are four girls and two boys. My father was strict, always monitoring our movements in and outside the house.

We spent most of our time indoors. I loved watching movies. But I would not say that it is the reason I wanted to act. I just felt that being able to represent a character that is not I would be exciting to do and to convince those who are watching that I’m actually the person.

How did you convince your parents that you wanted to be an actress?
I was already an adult when I started acting. I was a graduate and I was working. So convincing my parents at that stage was easy. Although my mother did not agree initially, I was able to convince her. My parents always tell me: I don’t want you to act nude. I don’t want you to expose your body and other things.

Who do you admire in Nollywood?
I respect Genevieve Nnaji. I also like Mercy Johnson for her wonderful roles.

How do you relate with friends and family members since you became an actress?
We have good relationships. They like my movies and I am grateful for that. I don’t intimidate anybody because I am a star.

You are beautiful with great body shape. Are you single and searching?
I am single. But I am not searching. All I know is that when the right person comes, everybody will know.

How do you deal with male admirers or male fans?
I am a woman of destiny. I don’t get easily carried away by men. I know what I want. And my job comes first. Men will always admire you as long as you are a beautiful woman. Anyone that approaches me, I will tell him straightaway that my job comes first. Before any further communication, I always make it clear that I am not into men.

Have you ever been sexually harassed by any producer?
Some might say this job exposes one to sexual harassment. But I don’t believe in that because it is a personal thing. For you to be harassed you must first accept the person’s invitation. No producer will rape you if you don’t come too close.

I always advise young girls to focus on the job and put sentiments or financial gains aside. Of a truth, anybody can be harassed you if you are ‘loose.’ You have to make up your mind that this is what I want to do. If you feel you want to sleep with a director or producer for a role, then it is your decision and you are not being forced.

Is there any painful experience you will like to share?
I have one sad story I will never forget. One day, I was on a movie location. I noticed that my wristwatch had been stolen. I was so sad that I refused to talk to anybody. In fact, it took me time to recover from the loss. I don’t know who to ask. It was a sad experience but after some time I let go.

How much did wristwatch cost?
I bought the wristwatch for $1,500. I confronted the person I gave the watch to hold on to for me while I was on set, but the person stated that he kept it in my bag. I could not get the police involved because I didn’t want to stain my identity. I don’t want people to see me as being troublesome. I let it go and bought another wristwatch. So I became more careful with my things on locations.

Are you saying there is no security on movie locations?
There is security but when it happens when you are shooting a movie who will you hold responsible? You cannot hold responsible the producer for what he knows nothing about. You cannot even accuse a particular person when the location is crowded.

Will you say Nollywood is evolving?
Nollywood is growing. It is different now compared to when we started. We are trying our best to ensure that we don’t lose the essence for which Nollywood became what it is today. We are trying our best to remain on that path. There will always be different shades at any film industry.

Even in the US, all films are not like the ones we get to watch all the time. The films that are made here in Asaba are mostly the kind of films that relate directly to those who watch them and whether you like it or not, there are some people who love and would die for our local movies. People love them. They are making money and those who come to operate within that realm are happy with it. Over the years, tragedy has remained a consist

Come back home if Donald Trump disturbs you – FG tells US-based Nigerians

muhammadu-buhari2

The Federal Government of Nigeria through its Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh has asked Nigerians based in US to return home if the country’s president-elect makes life difficult for them.

Speaking with State House correspondent after the federal executive council (FEC) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, Ogbeh expressed shock at Trump’s victory.

He said: “I’m in a bit of shock, but we’re witnessing some very dramatic changes in the world, and I think some of these things began many years ago.

“The current economic theory ravaging the world is now reaching the poor and the ordinary people. It’s causing a lot of stress. Brexit happened, America has done this now. Many other countries are going to have near extremism ruling the minds of people.

“The rest of the world will have to then carefully watch and see the impact first. He made comments about Nigerians when he was campaigning that they had stolen money, they should go back to their country and live. He has a very low opinion of the blacks and Hispanics. We hope he’ll become a president now for all, including Nigerians and others, resident in the US.

“But if he doesn’t, it means we’ll have to re-tune and re-tool our foreign policy to begin to find a situation where we may have to be welcoming some of our people if they come under extreme pressure. We hope it doesn’t happen. Trump himself is one of those capitalists who have managed to exploit the system, but have now turned around to bring down that system.

“I do hope that he can manage the US without falling into the trap he thinks he has freed the others from. Because eventually when he gets to Washington and begins to feel the pressure of the White House, he may not be as calm as he was this morning when he was accepting the victory, I can assure you. Those jobs exert a lot of pressure.”

Revealed: 9 Reasons Women Stay with Cheating Husbands

caught-cheating-see

Janet and her two children kept cuddling on the bed while her husband’s phone rang for the seventh time in five minutes. It was a Saturday afternoon.

Soon enough, the sound became “deafening” and she had to answer the call to tell the person to call back in few minutes when he would have finished in the bathroom.

“The contact of the person calling was saved as ‘James office’ so I felt the person should be one of his colleagues and so I didn’t hesitate to use ‘sir’ when I answered the call, but I was surprised to hear a female voice,” she recalled.

Notably, that call did not only open Janet’s eyes to the fact that her husband had been cheating on her, she also got to know how long she had been sharing her man with another woman, or even other women in their nine-year-old marriage.

Janet said, “The moment I answered the call, the lady calling screamed in anger even before I could say a word. I think both of them were supposed to be somewhere at that time because my husband was also rushing to go out for an ‘appointment’.

She even asked (him) if it was his ‘stupid wife’ that was delaying him. When she finished ranting, having said so many things that left me in shock, I simply asked who she was, and she answered, ‘so what’ and she dropped the call.”

Apparently shocked, Janet said she confronted her husband and that instead of apologising, he was furious and even told her she could pack her things and leave his house if she was no longer comfortable.

She added, “Before then, I had heard him countless times making silent calls and he would always terminate the call once I was approaching, but I didn’t want to assume wrongly, until that day that everything was confirmed.

“He has not changed because I have caught him many times after that. I can’t leave him, because God is against divorce and for the sake of my children.

Even though the relationship is not as exciting as it used to be, the couple are still together and had even had another child after that.

According to findings, being cheated on can be emotionally and psychologically draining, but interestingly, Janet’s experience is representative of what many women go through in marriage. Studies have shown that about 70 per cent of men cheat on their wives and that 17 per cent of divorce cases are caused by infidelity.

But, beyond religious teachings that admonish people to stay in marriage ‘for better, for worse,’ it would be interesting to know the reasons women stay with cheating spouses:

Children

Findings have shown that one of the reasons women tend to stay with a husband that cheats on them is to protect and properly raise their children in the man’s house, especially if they would not be allowed to go with the children.

Even if they are unhappy in the man’s house, they still prefer to stay than live in luxury outside his home.

A psychologist, Prof. Oni Fagboungbe says, “If the woman already had children with the man, she tends to feel that her absence in that house would expose her children to maltreatment and they would suffer, especially if the man marries another woman.

So, women tend to stay, just to look after their children, and that is the consolation for them.”

“You are a liar,” Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) to Chidinma Okeke after her explosive Interview

Chidinma Okeke, Uche Nworah

Following the interview Chidinma Okeke granted The Nation newspaper, where she claimed that ABS pressured her into making her infamous lesbian video, the pageant organizer has now come out to debunk her claims.

In a post on Facebook, one Uche Nworah wrote:

There is an Igbo saying that the more you repeat a lie, at some point people may begin to believe that it is the truth.

On this former Miss Anambra sex scandal, the management of the Anambra Broadcasting Service had previously released a press statement disassociating the organisation from it. We still stand on that statement.

We have also made statements on the matter to the law enforcement authorities. We understand that Miss Chidinma Okeke has also made statements to the law enforcement authorities so we eagerly await their findings.

It is however important that I correct certain statements that are being made on this forum and in other fora especially concerning the interview Miss Chidinma Okeke granted the Nation newspaper today. There appears to be an agenda to push falsehood to the public and in so doing malign me and the Anambra Broadcasting Service over a matter that we know nothing about.

It appears that our silence over the matter, except the press statement we issued earlier is now being exploited by those who are bent on using the Miss Anambra sex scandal to settle political scores in Anambra state.

It would also appear that Miss Chidinma Okeke has become a pawn in a larger politically motivated conspiracy.
The ABS as a socially responsible organisation fulfilled to the letter every part of the contract signed with Miss Chidinma Okeke, former Miss Anambra. This includes paying ALL her prize money of the sum of one million Naira only.

This was paid in instalments in line with the contract. An initial sum of N500,000 was paid to her after she signed her contract and the balance of N500,000 was paid in N50,000 instalments over a 10 month period.

She collected her last instalment of N50,000 on the 11th of October 2016, the day she handed over the crown to the organisers. We have records of her signing for all the payments. We had to take the measure of inviting the former Miss Anambra to the office on this date as that was the day an anonymous individual had forwarded the videos to myself and some other persons I do not know accusing the former queen of being a lesbian.

The person said he was in possession of such similar videos numbering over 10 allegedly showing the former queen in lesbian acts, as well as her friends in the lesbian video performing sexual acts with men. Details of these WhatsApp messages have been made available to the law enforcement authorities. We took this decision as we did not want the brand to be smeared with such a scandal as contained in Clause 1 of the contract.

After the handover of the crown by Miss Chidinma Okeke to the Miss Anambra project executives in the presence of the ABS management in the office of the ABS MD/CEO, I dismissed all the other members of the management with the exception of the ABS lawyer and one of the Miss Anambra project executives.

I went on to show Miss Chidinma Okeke the videos I had received that day from the anonymous individual and the messages from the person, I then asked her if she had any knowledge of the video and she said yes. I advised her to go home and confide in her family. I have not seen nor spoken to her since that day as I do not know her whereabouts.

Miss Chidinma Okeke was not forced to sign the contract under duress as alleged, rather a certain Nwakonobi Ifeanyi who is married to her sister and acting as her guardian co-signed with her after they had taken the contract home, studied and consulted over it.

As a respectable pageant, we have certain rules and regulations guiding participation in the pageant and conduct of the queen during her reign. During her one year reign, we supported Miss Chidinma Okeke the very best way we could including sponsoring her to represent Nigeria in the Miss Intercontinental pageant which held in Frankfurt Germany in December 2015.

We sponsored her alongside one of the contestants who represented São Tomé. This was our way of creating opportunities for them and opening doors to international fame and modelling. Though not stated in the contract but we also secured a free unlimited one year business class return tickets to any destination in Nigeria for her and her chaperon from one of our airline sponsors.

There is no iota of truth in the allegation that ABS is blackmailing Chidinma Okeke over monies realised at her birthday party. As our reigning queen, we organised a birthday party for her and used the occasion to present to the public her pet project.

The event was co-sponsored by her uncle who was also at the event alongside veteran Nollywood actor, Sir Obi Okoli who did not stay till the end. Miss Chidinma Okeke and her uncle can testify that no money was realised at the event as it was not a fund raising. Rather, the guests that spoke encouraged her with words.

The Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant platform is indeed a wonderful one. There is nothing wrong with the pageant. We have had winners and participants on the platform who have gone on to do big things in their lives and modelling careers. The pageant is solely private sector funded.

The state government does not sponsor the pageant so please do not believe the false story that the Anambra state government spends millions of Naira sponsoring the pageant.

If you live in Awka or Anambra state, you will confirm that it is usually a big event which generates a lot of excitement and buzz. As an organisation, the pageant generates entertainment content and some revenue for the ABS.

From the audition to the final event itself, the contestants are treated with the highest respect, courtesy and dignity.

They sign a document detailing dos and donts and pledge to be of good conduct and behaviour both during camp and during the reign of the eventual winner. In the past, the organisers have had to dismiss some finalists from camp for misconduct, one for giving her number out to a hotel guest where they are camped and another for being rude to fellow contestants and the chaperon.

The pageant is judged to the highest standard. The judges are usually former acclaimed national beauty queens and showbiz personalities. The pageant overall is managed by a Pageant Creative Director who is a former Miss Nigeria. We take every care to ensure that we deliver a good show every year.

There are no preconditions of appearing in a sex video to contest in the Miss Anambra pageant. We have had hundreds of contestants on the pageant and they can testify to that. It makes no sense to try to blame the organisers over an act that is as a result of one’s folly and greed.

If perhaps the said Miss Chidinma Okeke fell victim to conmen who tricked her into believing that she will win a beauty pageant if she appears in a sex video, if she goes ahead and participates in the said video and the conmen turn around to blackmail her and extort money from her with the sex video, how can I or the ABS be blamed for that? Did the other participants and contestants on the show suffer the same fate?

Regarding the issue of the Miss Anambra vehicle, in line with clause 10 of the contract, the vehicle is an official car which the organisers reserve the right to withdraw at the end of the queen’s reign.

It does appear that the issue of the car is what concerns the former queen the most as statements to the media by her father, and even text messages to me and discussions from people from her camp suggest so but clearly as can be seen from the contract, the ABS acted as per contract signed.

It is obvious that those who have been at the forefront pushing this falsehood and allegation that I, Uche Nworah or the ABS has anything to do with this have ulterior motives.

In this day and age of social media, it is now easy for anybody to manufacture falsehood and post on social media for the unsuspecting public to read, like and share but in the end truth triumphs.

In Ghana: “Burn Down my Church if Akufo-Addo Loses Presidential Election” – Ghanaian Pastor

isaac-owusu-bempah

There something about politics, elections in particular, that brings out the worst in men of God. No kidding.

With Nigerians still stung by the hilarity of TB Joshua’s blooper in the recently concluded US Presidential election, a Ghanaian cleric has joined the fray, making even more daring claims in the forthcoming Ghanaian Presidential election, Ghana web writes.

Recall that Prophet TB Joshua had predicted last Sunday a “narrow” win for Hilary Clinton in the just concluded U.S. presidential election. Only, she was comprehensively beaten by Donald Trump of the Republican Party in a stunning poll Wednesday.

tb-joshua

Nigerians, cool as you like, empathized with him on social media

With the Ghana presidential race around the corner, Founder of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, has said he is ready to lose his church building if Nana Addo does not win the upcoming elections as he has prophesized.

In reference to a previous prophesy that bombed, he said this time around there is no condition to his vision.

“You can call me a fake prophet or burn down my church building if the New Patriotic Party [NPP] does not win the upcoming polls,” he said on a morning show on Okay FM.

He went further to posit that Angels would come down from heaven to vote for Akufo-Addo even if Ghanaians refuse to vote for him.

“I say this year is for no other Presidential candidate other than Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party [NPP], no matter what happens.

“Mine is to act as the prophecy of God come to me.”

“I am saying with no single doubt again that Nana Addo would be the President of Ghana come December 7th. It is already written in heaven and so it shall be on earth.” Rev. Owusu Bempah said.

While TB Joshua was smart enough to pull down the Facebook post that contained the false prophesy, it will be interesting to hear Rev Bempah if the election doesn’t play out as ‘God’ scripted.

The situation is no different with Pastor Chris Okotie of Household of God Church, Lagos, who severally contested, and lost, despite ‘visions from God’ that he’d win.

Newborn baby delivered with teeth in his mouth

“They Brought Together A Bunch Of Unqualified Music Critics” – Solidstar Rants About His Headies 2016 Nomination.

Solidstar Ft. Ice Prince, Patoranking - Bam Bam, solidstar ft patoranking, solidstar ft ice prince and patoranking, solidstar bam bam ft ice prince and patoranking

In the penultimate year, Nigerian singer, Solidstar complained about being nominated in only two categories at the 2015 headies – best music video and best reggae/dancehall single, saying he deserves more.

This year becomes even worse for him because his song ‘Wait‘ ft Tiwa Savage and Patoranking was nominated in only ONE category: Best Collabo.

Unlike last year, Solidstar has gone on a rant about the nomination list, the ineptitude and favouritism of the media, and accused African award organisers of causing problems by bringing together “some bunch of unqualified music critics and what not to set up the nomination list.”

Read what he wrote:

“Donald Trump won the US election against all odds, and we were all blinded by the lies, propaganda and hype of the media. The media even blinded themselves bringing out polls and predictions that The probability of Trump winning against Hillary with all his scandals was 30:70. But at the end he won and shamed everybody

This is the same issues we have in our entertainment industry in Africa, the media have succeeded in blinding the fans from what is real, pure and good, from what real talent and good music is about. They hype their family and friends and ignore the ones that don’t text them good morning everyday and form fake friendship with them.

I am not about the life of faking or acting a friend in your face and do otherwise behind your back that is why I have little or no friends in the industry cos even the artists are jealous of each other and they don’t support real talents because they don’t want to be exposed.

This is not directed to anybody or media house. It is a general issue that we all have to look into. Imagine an AWARD ceremony that calls itself credible, giving one artist an award and even made him make a video which was broadcasted on the screen at the award thanking them and later withdrawing the award to give to someone else. This shows the irregularities, partiality and mediocrity in the whole system.

An award organizers recently released a list and even though I was nominated I wasn’t satisfied because the main category that would have meant a bit to me was missing on my nomination which is best raggae/dance hall. I can only pick one song out of the whole bunch that did a bit better than Wait refix ft Patoranking and Tiwa Savage for their year in view. No disrespect to any artist nominated or the organizers but somethings are just so wrong.

A lot of talented artists have been ignored for so long that they even start doubting themselves. Even the Grammys which is also not 100 percent credible have their flaws but try as much as possible to recognize real talent

These African Award organizers bring together some bunch of unqualified music critics and whatnot to set up the nomination list and that’s where the problem starts from and”

“Most People Get Married For The Glamour” – Olu Maintain.

olu-maintain

Nigerian Afrobeat classic singer, Olu Maintain, has stated that most people get married just for the glamour, but that’s not an excuse for him not to get married. He also waded into the current economic instability in the country.

In a chat with HipTv, the Lagos-born singer, on the current situation in the country, said,

“Nigeria politics is a very complex equation to solve. There is so much ethnicity.

“It’s very challenging. You can tell that they are well-intentioned; from the very aggressive crusade against corruption trying to indict people but you know at the same time, it’s a question of the right government at the wrong time.

Look at what is happening with the Naira against the dollar for example, a lot of what is responsible for that has nothing to do with the government but I mean when you are selling oil at a 100 USD per barrel and it increases to about three hundred and something USD, and oil constitute like 68 – 70% of what we bank on as our export in this country, I mean the Naira is going to take a hit.

There is so much uncertainty, there is unrest with the militants that control the oil area and so on, so it’s just a situation that was already bad and it has to get a little bit worse before it can get better unfortunately.

It’s not like this government is just sitting down and enjoying the direction this country is going.

But I’m still very optimistic that there will be light at the end of the dark tunnel.”

On marriage, the ‘Yahozee’ crooner said,

“A lot of people that get married these days get married for the wrong reasons. Everybody looks forward to the wedding but nobody is ready for the commitment of the marriage and marriage is a life time commitment.

Marriage is a decision that you have to live with the consequences for the rest of your life, so 9 times out of 10, people get married for the glamour, the wedding ceremony, the grams, the likes, the harsh-tags but marriage entails a lot more than that.

I’m not saying that’s my excuse for not wanting to get married but I know enough to know that to balance your marriage and a successful music career is like balancing the economy of Nigeria and we all know how it is going with this present dispensation now.

It’s very challenging, so I would rather not fail at both and focus on one,” he added.
