We first caught a glimpse of the fan’s art after that of Simi was shared on Twitter – well, ladies and gentlemen, we bring to you more amazing photos of this fan’s art of his favourite Nigerian celebrities.
He should certainly make an art gallery – his works are pure! More below:
The dance hall artiste looked debonair as he donned a pink suit, promoting his new album ”God Over Everything’ on air with the beautiful OAP earlier today.
The both of them sure looked classic for a Friday outfit – by the way, can’t you see how perfectly well the singer rocked his pink suit, not many guys are able to rock pink though… but he did… Like a “Classic Man”.
Two Nollywood icons, Zack Orji and Jide Kosoko, have given us that lovely smile with this photo of them with beautiful actresses, Ayo Adesanya and Lady Vanani.
The actors are photoed here together on the set of a new movie – which we know of course, for the fact that the icons are featured in it, it’s gonna be a classic one!
A 55-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly married a girl who was just six years old – in return for a goat.
Seyed Abdolkarim was taken in by officers after police were told he had married the child, named only as Gharibgol, in a religious ceremony.
The child was reportedly sold by her father who was also arrested by police after they claimed he exchanged her for the goat, along with rice, tea, sugar, and cooking oil.
He said he had been struggling to look after the family, and that exchanging his daughter meant he gained food and lost a mouth to feed.
The footage above was taken by Fawad Ahmady working for The Observers , and shows the arrest of Gharibgol’s father in his village as local women attacked him and beat him up.
He said that Abdolkarim had promised he wouldn’t sleep with Gharibgol until she was 18.
Following the marriage, the respected imam Abdolkarim was said to have taken his new wife to a relative’s house in Firozkoh, in Ghor province, as his daughter.
But they became concerned when they realised “he was undressing her at night” according to the report.
Mr Ahmady writes: “So he asked the mullah, ‘she’s not your daughter?’
“The mullah replied, ‘no, she’s my wife; her father gave her to me’. The host told a friend, who called the local women rights bureau for Ghor province.”
Tests carried out by the hospital in Ghor show that “there was no sexual intercourse”.
The child is currently being housed in a safe location with her mother.
Daniel Edet Inyang is currently receiving treatment in Atan Ete Mbakara village in Odukpani local government area of Cross River State, for second degree burns sustained from hot water.
According to CrossRiverWatch, the matter was reported to the Odukpani division of the Nigeria Police Force but no action has being taken till date.
Exclusive photos obtained by CRW shows Daniel is obviously not responding well to treatment as his body which is covered in Gentian Violet (GV) still show burns with blood clots. Moreover, he now moves around mostly naked.
“I had the privilege of sighting the photos of the injuries on the young lad; they are horrible and unpleasant to behold” says Barrister Eno Iyamba of Basic Rights Counsel, Calabar.
“The action of the so called landlord is a demonstration of the height of man’s inhumanity to his fellow man. This is a clear case of attempted murder. It is however unfortunate that the police in Odukpani where the case is said to have been incidented, simply glossed over it and did nothing. The police and other security agencies in the State have a fundamental duty to make the State children friendly.
“They must come to terms with the fact that there is a law known as the Child’s Rights Law of Cross River State,
2009. Children have a right to adequate protection and care, and not to be abused on flimsy and unsubstantiated grounds. I call on the police in the State to immediately arrest the perpetrator of this wicked and inhuman act to answer for his crime. Assuming the young boy indeed stole as alleged, it is criminal on the part of the landlord to take laws into his hands. There is absolutely no justification for this gruesome act” Iyamba said
On July 14, one Mr Aniettie, the landlord of the compound where the little boy’s guardian Obong Ette, had accused Daniel of stealing his phone and poured hot water on him.
Neighbours of Christopher Harrold found him hanging in the corner of his bedroom after being absent for several days in Redland, Bristol, England.
The 26-year-old had reportedly pleasured himself and strangled himself as a way of ireasing sexual excitement by restricting oxygen flow to the brain. According to police reports, a laptop and mobile phone was found near his body in his room.
Although no further details about his death were given a coroner believed that the young man didn’t plan to hurt or kill himself. Post mortem examination as well as the circumstances around the death pointed at auto-Intimate asphixation as the cause of death.
Days before tragedy Mr Harrold moved into his new house which he shared with his three close friends and was in good spirits, according to his family. That’s why his neighbours noticed his absence only two days after his bizarre unintentional suicide.
One more odd death was reported by foreign media about a 20-year-old woman who passed away minutes after kissing her boyfriend.
So there have been well dressed presidents, over time, but in recent memory, President Buhari seems to have taken the trophy for ‘Best Dressed Nigerian President’.
Almost every time a picture has been released, either by the official photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo or just by the press, the president has been very well dressed. Here are 10 times, he was so well dressed, he could have taken your girlfriend from you:
1. When he was on his James Bond swag with this perfect bow-tie:
‘Hey baby, My name is Buhari, Muhammadu Buhari.’
2. When Buhari was looking like the Godfather in this suit:
He was looking like he would make your girlfriend an offer she couldn’t refuse.
3. When he was Muhammadu ‘Okechukwu’ Buhari, with that signature red cap and beads
‘Nne, wassup, come, let me help your life’.
4. When he totally slayed this Agbada, ‘Yoruba-demon’ style
This Agbada is the Agbada all other Agbadas look up to.
5. When he totally rocked this Rivers traditional attire
Looking like a typical Ikwerre man with houses to rent and millions to spend.
6. Every woman loves a man with great taste in shoes, and you see those shoes in the picture below? They are of the best quality
Bow mere mortals! Bow!
7. Have you seen the Mac look better in anyone else’s laps? The swag in this picture is blinding.
He is probably listening to Wizkid’s verse on ‘One Dance’. who knows?
8. Who doesn’t love a man in uniform? Can you see the way it seats so well on him too?
Meanwhile that open teeth is definitely one reason the first lady fell for him, that open teeth is goals!
9. Agility at his age is definitely attractive. His pose here is to die for too
Just look at how he outshines Fashola in this picture. Baba is old age goals.
10. Just look at the amount of beauty, male and female in one picture?
For the past few days, pastor Adeboye’s advice to youths on marriage have been trending all over the place. I suspect that the good pastors yarns tells me that he is a man suspended in time, between old and new school. Don’t get it twisted, in as much as I flow with his definition of a good woman, from his statement I see that the obvious way to his heart is through his stomach and of cause through prayers. Good, No wahala.
However our amiable pastor rubs it in when he starts to yarn Akpata, ” Marry a warrior, if a girl cannot pray for one hour, don’t marry her. Don’t marry a girl who is lazy, who cannot cook. She needs to know how to do chores and cook because you cannot afford to eat out at all times” Hummm na wa! Really? Seriously?
So if my wife to be can’t rant, chant, shout and generally carry on as a prayer warrior, praying for a whole hour, the woman doesn’t deserve a wife status. Abi?
Oga pastor, that one na missyarn. Over praying does not make one a better husband or wife, because the world especially Naija is filled with Fake people and “Fakest” pastors. Does a man having a job guarantee that he will make a good husband? Does a woman knowing how to cook guarantee she will make a good wife? Haba.
Ok I get it, The Nigerian god has an ear infection, so we must shout and pray for hours because that’s the only way he may listen to our prayers, right? I know that a man is suppose to marry a helper and not a cook or a house girl. By the way, is anything wrong with encouraging your young male congregation to learn how to cook and do chores too.
“Do not marry a worldly lady” what the heck does that mean? Is it about being materialistic or just being fashionable, looking nice. I guess in your book we can’t be a good Christian if we got swagg and we are trendy. Judge not pastor. We must all not look like Deeper Life people to have a personal relationship with God. By the way, if you want to start writing your own commandment you may as well write your own version of the bible for your congregation. Na una way.
Being married should never define a man or a woman. Marriage in a few years anyways, will be out of fashion. Being married is only nice if we are lucky to pick a partner who will be our friend, if not, that maybe hell on earth. All of us must not get married if our threshold for nonsense and garbage is low. The world is obviously changing and we are no longer in the 60s. Who wants to be suffering and smiling. Most importantly marriage should not be a milestone for anyone. Yes o.
Like I always say, it will take two to tango. Marriage only works when partners are determined to make it work. It can never be a merit badge, or a status for happiness. Many of us are enslaved in our myopic mindset that makes a mess out of what should really be a good friendship. So Oga pastor Adeboye, watch your yarns because a lot of people lookup to you, Biko. I don talk my own.
Facebook user Pregee Binaibi, who shared the photos, wrote:
“Can u imaging! On my way back from my sister’s place, i passed by the market. It was raining seriously,so much that i was seriously feeling feverish. It was 15minuits past seven and i was rushing home. On my way a man stopped the taxi i was in and begged the driver to help take a little girl who has been under the rain selling groundnuts. She was severing seriously and couldn’t walk. She almost fainted so the people around had to put her in a taxi cos she was walking home under the very heavy rain. Fortunately she was going my way so i offered to drop her at the junction were she lives. Getting there, it was still raining cats and dogs so i took her under a shelf away from the rain. I was curious to know why a parent will expose their child to such.
“I asked her some questions and she said she was 5years, left the house for the market in the morning to sell. I asked her what she ate and she said she drank just garri in the morning. Where is your mum i asked, and she said her mum was home doing nothing. How can parents be so irresponsible? This is child abuse. Exposing this little girl to such. I got her something to eat,and then took her home. Only to discover that she was actually staying with her father’s wife. #live happening here in yenagoa this evening.# #may God help our little children!”
A 30-year-old man has caused a serious stir online after posting pictures of his two badly battered kids on social media, with his comment saying, “This makes me happy – ever since his ex-wife left the place they lived together on July 17, Liu has been using all means to search for her whereabouts.
He entreated desperately among his friends to help searching by posting his ex-wife’s pictures on social media, claiming that she is mentally ill and needs to be taken care of. Yet his efforts went all in vain.
Liu married his 23-year-old ex-wife last year, and they have two kids, one is four-year-old and the other two-year-old. Liu didn’t acknowledge his marriage had fallen apart nor did he say anything about their divorce until Women’s Federation, a local women’s rights organization, interfered after the child abuse photos Liu posted had sparked outcry.
After Liu found out that his ex-wife had a hotel booking record in June, one month after the couple divorced, he drank a lot and started beating his own kids heartlessly and severely, leaving their bodies bruises and cuts all over.
He then took pictures of the kids and posted online, immediately drawing huge attention. Many were furious about his conduct but none of them reported Liu to the police for fear of the two kids would be left unattended, while Liu’s ex-wife’s whereabouts remains unclear.
A mother of three, simply identified as Remilekun, has gone “gaga” after her husband, identified as Oriyomi, allegedly shaved her pubic hairs and her head. The couple, who have been living together since 2008 in Ikorodu area of Lagos, have three kids, but were yet to formalise their union.
According to a close family source, who spoke to Vanguard, the victim became “mentally ill after her husband reportedly shaved both the hair her on her head and in her pubic area.
“They have been living together since 2008 without any formal wedding. They have three children. The eldest of their children is seven years old. After she developed mental disorder, Oriyomi sent her out with their three children.
“Ever since, the children have been living with their grandmother. He neglected the children because their mother is not in a good state of mind.”
The case was reported at Igbogbo Police Station, but was not documented since there was no proof that shaving her head and pubic area were responsible for her mental illness.
The “Standard” crooner sure looks a awful lot like his mother though – he shared the throwback late Thursday night just before the official day for throwbacks ran out.
Reekado Banks is a spitting image of his mother, he shared the throwback which shows his mum and his brother – can you tell which he is in the photo above?!
The Anambra State Police Command on Thursday paraded a 29-year-old woman, Chidinma Okorie, and two medical doctors for alleged child trafficking.
The doctors, who were said to be Okorie’s accomplices, were identified as Emmanuel Tobechukwu and Cosmos Ugorji.
Okorie said she had sold two children since she was introduced into the illegal trade by a woman whom she claimed was an evangelist.
She said “I sold the two children at N50,000 each. I, myself, am pregnant now and the evangelist said when I’m delivered of my baby, she would buy it for N100,000.
“I have five children; but I’m not married. I have not sold any of my children; but I have sold two children, starting with the child of a pastor that I first stole. I’m pregnant and I have agreed to sell my baby to the evangelist for N100,000 when I give birth.”
She said the medical doctors were helping her in the trafficking because they had a ready market through a nurse that was still at large.
She said “Madam brought three of us (girls) from Ebonyi to Anambra State and took us to a shrine in Asaba where she collected our blood for voodoo so that we will not reveal to anybody the type of business we do.”
She insisted that the two medical doctors aided her in the trafficking of the two children.
Ugorji, however, said he had not seen Okorie before and he had not done any transaction with her.
Ugorji, who said his hospital was located at Awada, Obosi, near Onitsha, explained that the nurse, whom Okorie named as his accomplice in child trafficking, was only coming to his hospital’s laboratory to conduct blood sample tests.
“I don’t know this girl (Okorie) because I have not seen her before. I was surprised to see the police storm my hospital yesterday (Wednesday) talking about child trafficking. Today, they brought us here,” he added.
On his part, Tobechukwu, who said his hospital was at Nkpor, near Onitsha, said a woman brought Okorie to his hospital for blood test.
He said, “This woman (Okorie) has a medical condition, which I won’t want to discuss here. She was brought by one woman, who said she was a nurse. I didn’t document their addresses because we did not do any treatment. What we did was blood test and they left.
“ I’m from Enugu and I’m working in somebody’s hospital at Nkpor. I have nothing to do with child trafficking.”
Parading the suspects at the Anambra Police Command headquarters at Amawbia, the Police Public Relations officer, Nkeiru Nwode, said the suspects were arrested on Wednesday after a tip off.
She said Okorie had come to Idoma village in Umuoji,Idemili-North Local Government Area of the state and stolen a four-year-old boy, but luck ran out on her when people raised the alarm and she was apprehended.
The PPRO said before the incident, Okorie had stolen a child belonging to a pastor in the state.
Nwode alleged that the doctors were accomplices who linked the traffickers to ready markets.
She said two of the accomplices, a nurse and a female evangelist, whose names were not given as of press time, were still at large.
Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 42-year-old Islamic cleric, Rasheed Ayuba, for alleged car theft. Ayuba, who hails from Igbesa, Ogun State, was apprehended along with a transporter in Ibadan, Oyo State, Falade Igbekele, who reportedly bought six of the stolen cars.
A bunch of master keys and about 13 other car keys, as well as charms, were recovered from Ayuba. The suspect, who also teaches at an Arabic school in Ishasi, Lagos, was caught sometime in June after he entered into a hotel in the Ikotun area to steal a Toyota Camry parked on the premises.
He was driving out the car when he was caught by vigilantes in the neighbourhood, who handed him over to officials of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. Ayuba reportedly told the police that he bought the master keys for N9,000 from one John, a Beninoise.
He said, “I finished from an Arabic school in Ikotun and started teaching Arabic in Ishasi. At about 11pm on June 8, I went to a hotel around Ile-Iwe bus stop to steal a Toyota Camry. But I was arrested by the security guards in the area.
“I got the master keys I used from John, who is from Benin Republic. We met in 2013 in Lagos and he sold the master keys to me. Since then, I had been using them to steal cars. I usually sold the cars to my customers in Ibadan. One of them is Falade (Igbekele) to whom I sold six cars, and Friday, who bought a Toyota Camry.
“It was only four cars I had stolen this year before I was arrested. I sold a Toyota Camry to one pastor Dare for N100,000, and a Honda for N80,000 to another pastor. But pastor Dare had just paid me N50,000. They all knew I stole the cars.”
Fifty-two-year-old Igbekele confessed to have bought six cars from Ayuba, saying a friend introduced him to Ayuba. The indigene of Ondo State added that he used some of the vehicles for commercial purpose.
“I knew Alfa Ayuba through a friend called Lucky Star. Lucky told me Alfa sells vehicles and I said I had interest in buying them. He had sold six vehicles to me so far, including a Nissan Sunny and a Nissan Primero. I bought them for N150,000 each.
“I bought all the cars from Alfa three years ago. He told me he stole them and I asked if I would not get into trouble; he said yes,” Igbekele said.
While the police said they were on the trail of the other accomplices, Ayuba and Igbekele were brought before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on six counts bordering on stealing and receiving stolen property.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Donjor Perezi, told the court that the offences were punishable under sections 98, 285 (10), 326 (a) (b) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges before the presiding magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Olayinka, and were admitted to bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
The Naira plunged to 400 against the dollar at the parallel market on Thursday as shortage of foreign exchange continued to have negative effects on economic activities in the country.
The local currency had closed at 390 against the Dollar on Wednesday. But the shortage of forex at the interbank and the black market has continued to weigh on the value of the naira.
Economic and financial analysts have linked the wide depreciation in the value of the naira against the dollar at the parallel market to huge demand for forex by holidaymakers seeking to travel abroad.
However, some experts said the huge demand for forex at the parallel market was beyond the normal summer rush.
They linked the development to the activities of speculators and significant demand by manufacturers and importers whose demand was not being met at the interbank market.
Currency analyst at Ecobank Nigeria, Mr. Kunle Ezun, said,
“The issue still has to do with inadequate forex supply. As far as you continue to have some 41 items banned from the interbank market, importers and manufacturers of those items will continue to seek for forex at the parallel market. This is part of the reason you are having pressure at the parallel market.”
Just like the recent controversial case that involved Toyin Aimakhu and #SaveMayowa funds raising, popular Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, says she regrets taking up a case involving a sex worker, identified as Mary, who allegedly abandoned her child, Michael, at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba.
Henshaw on Wednesday said with the experience, she might not render assistance of such nature in the future.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Henshaw’s attention had been drawn to the condition of the mother and child through the social media, while they begged around the Onikan area of Lagos State.
Mary was reported to have had four children from different men.
Michael, her last child, who she reportedly had for a Malian, was said to have been born with a cancerous growth in the face.
His mother was said to have been taking him on begging trips, during which some residents took their pictures.
Henshaw said she was tagged on Twitter sometime in March, 2016, and she took interest in the sick child.
She said,
“I asked people to find both mother and child and after some efforts, they were found at Osborne, Ikoyi.
“Later, someone assisted us in getting a bed space for the sick child at LUTH. Both mother and child were admitted.”
Henshaw said she reported the case to Project Alert on Violence Against Women, a non-government organisation, which involved the Lagos State Government.
Mary was reported to have initially refused to cooperate with the hospital until she was threatened with arrest.
Henshaw said the attitude of Michael’s 30-year-old mother prompted a DNA test, which confirmed she was the biological mother of the child.
‘While at LUTH, we received reports from other mothers in the ward and some nurses that she was aggressive. On April 24, she fought a hospital maid and was sent out of the ward and we had to beg that she should be taken in after she promised to be of good behaviour.
“We visited her relatives in Irawo, Ikorodu, where we discovered that she had three other children for different men. She left them in the care of her aged mother.”
The Nollywood actress said on June 9, 2016, Mary walked out of the hospital and left her baby behind.
Henshaw said she called the social welfare department and Mary’s family for a meeting where it was agreed that she should not be allowed to stay with the child again.
“As the meeting was going on, Mary appeared. She looked very dirty. The social welfare workers instructed that she shouldn’t be allowed into the ward,” she added.
She explained that after a series of medications, Michael was removed from LUTH due to a strike action which affected workers at the hospital.
Our correspondent learnt that the child was taken to Project Alert where her grandmother started taking care of him.
Henshaw, however, said she regretted getting involved due to the distrust of Mary’s family over the care of the child and the management of the fund gathered for the baby, which she said was not in her care.
She said,
“A little part of me regrets; even though the Bible says we should not be tired of doing good. The family is giving us problems; but we are committed to the health and medical care of Baby Michael.
“With my experience, there is going to be a lethargic, tired attitude of celebrities when they are called to cases like this in the future. They may donate, but for someone like me to come out and say before the camera that ‘I, Kate Henshaw…’ It’s not happening again.”
Mary’s sister, Syndi, however, said although the family appreciated Henshaw’s efforts, it was not impressed, saying there was no proper communication.
She explained that Mary ran from LUTH because she was always harassed by the social workers.
Syndi said she was ready to take custody of the baby, leaving the NGO and Henshaw to take care of the medical bills.
She said,
“My family is comfortable and I send N20,000 to my mother every month; we are not begging. Even the baby, before the encounter, was being treated at a general hospital.
“I was surprised when I heard that my sister and the baby were begging on the street. I was sad.
“When my sister was at the hospital, she complained that she was always harassed by the social workers, who sometimes also abused her. She also complained that she was getting N3,600 every week, which was too small. It was like she was in a cage.
“She left on that day because she had not been feeding well. She told me that she would not go there again because of the harassment. My mother, who took over from her, was also not well fed.
“I am capable of taking care of Michael and I will do that. If you are still interested in taking care of the baby’s medical care, no problem.”
The Director of Project Alert, Mrs. Josephine Effah-Chukwuma, commended the public for raising funds for the care of the baby, adding that spending on the child was well documented.
She explained that the baby would be released to Syndi, while the organisation would shoulder the responsibility for the treatment of the baby.
“The road to full recovery is a long one for Baby Michael. At his last hospital appointment on Thursday, July 21, the doctor said surgery was not the way out, but a continued administration of his drugs – Propranol and Nylol gel. We were told that the benign tumour on his face will gradually compress and shrink, but it will take a long process. We are committed to his full recovery.
“However, the social welfare issues surrounding his mother, circumstances of birth, family and care for him in general are huge,” she said.
No team had a harder time getting to Rio de Janeiro than Our Nigerian men’s soccer team, and when our players finally arrived they had just hours to prepare for a match against Japan. What was their reward for a tumultuous trip? The wrong national anthem.
When it came time before the game to honor each country with the playing of the national anthem, Nigeria heard a tune that was definitely not right.
The Nigerians were evidently unfazed by the error, holding off Japan for a 5-4 victory. But their disappointment was apparent when the music began playing.
Video Below:

After the wrong Nigerian National anthem was played, Nigerians took to twitter to express their disappointment and displeasure at the organizers of the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Can someone tell the @Rio2016_en@Olympics organisers in Manaus to get the right anthem for Nigeria, please? The mess just goes on! ?
There are some stories that would inspire you and give you the strength to carry on. Indeed, when there is life, there is hope.
Many marriages have suffered turbulence due to infertility issues or childlessness. Some couples have drifted apart because of the constant fights that ensue between them when this issue is being discussed.
It is exciting when we hear breakthrough stories from couples or people who have had one challenge or the other in this aspect. Call it whatever you want to, things are happening in the society and we would not fail to talk about them. Miracles are still in vogue and people are testifying to God’s goodness and mercies every day.
Claudette Cook’s story would no doubt inspire you, this 59-year-old pregnant woman’s story is a proof that God is still God. She had been married to her husband for nine years; the doctor told her that she would never be able to have a child. Cook was also not sure of being a mother because of her age.
Despite the limitations, here she is, waxing and glowing with twins growing within her. She would be having baby boys as God has decided to rewrite her story and give her a testimony.
Most importantly, she is healthy. See the amazing picture of the pregnant 59-year-old woman below:
1. She believes in God
This 59-year-old woman had always believed in God, she put all the affairs of her life in His hands, She did not let her faith waver.
2. So adorable
Even at fifty-nine, she is still pretty. The heavily pregnant woman looks good with her baby bump. Some younger women do not look this amazing when pregnant.
3. Pregnant and graceful
Claudette Cook sure looks amazing. You could imagine the excitement of this woman at this stage. We wish her all the best. We also hope that people with similar expectations would hang in there and never give up.
Similarly, Roseline Akinsola, a 50-year-old woman who had been married for fourteen years gave birth to twins in Nigeria. Akinsola had two girls and could not stop thanking God for His mercies.
Her story encouraged lots of women in the society as she became a point of strength to them.
Nigeria wins Japan 5-4 in Manaus courtesy of four goals from Oghenekaro Etebo on Friday.
Sadiq Umar scored Nigeria’s first goal after only five minutes. The Japanese equalised via a penalty three minutes later as Shinzo Koroki put the ball behind the net for his country.
Dream Team VI took the lead again through Etebo from a long ball from Abdullahi Shehu. Japan leveled as Takumi Minamino slipped the ball under goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel.
Etebo was again on the scorers sheet, with a rebound after a Mikel Obi shot was pushed out by Kushibiki, the Japanese goalkeeper.
Two consecutive goals by the Asian champions could not save the day, as Nigeria go atop the table with three points. Sweden and Colombia had played 2-2.
A Port Harcourt resident on Facebook has shared unbelievable photos of a 4-year-old girl brutally beaten by her father.
She was said to have allegedly misplaced the slippers her father bought for her. And the father flogged her like this?! How can you flog a 4-year-old child like this?
Five Star General, Kcee releases a brand new single titled “Tinana“. The song sees the A-List act reunite withDel’B in what could be seen as a Naija/Afrobeats version of Ben E. King’s 1961 classic, “Stand By Me“.
Could “Tinana” be another hit in Kcee‘s ever-growing list of bangers? I wouldn’t bet against it.
“Nigerian football is in a state of shock after an astonishing 26 players failed age tests carried out ahead of an Under-17 African Cup of Nations qualifier, according to a report.
Africanfootball.com reports that a mandatory MRI screening carried out on 60 eligible players showed almost half were ineligible to play. The existing first XI was far more badly hit, however, with only two players passing the MRI test – an astonishing blow for a squad which won the FIFA U17 World Cup last year for a record fifth time.
MRI tests have been used for several years to prevent age fraud in football, and are considered 99% accurate up to the age of 17. “It is a disaster,” a Nigerian official told the website. “Virtually the first team the coaches have been working on have been disqualified. It’s a serious problem.”
The players who failed the tests have now left the training camp in Abuja, where they were staying ahead of Saturday’s Cup of Nations U17 qualifying match against Niger.
“Several of the players were in tears and total shock when the final results came through,” adds Samm Audu’s report on Africanfootball.com. “Among those who flung the age test was a star striker, who came through the national U15 team and has been outstanding in training leading up to Saturday’s AFCON qualifier.
“Another promising player disqualified only recently forced his way into the starting XI of coach Manu Garba’s team after a late call-up.” It’s not the first time that age fraud has been discovered in the Nigerian youth system: back in 1989 the nation’s youth teams were banned for two years for faking players’ birth dates at the 1988 Olympics, for example. It did not stop after that, however.
In 2010 former Nigerian FA president Anthony Kojo Williams told the BBC: “We use over-age players for junior championships, I know that. Why not say it? It’s the truth. We always cheat. It’s a fact. When you cheat, you deprive the young stars that are supposed to play in these competitions their rights.
Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to the announcement that ISIS has replaced Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, with Abu Musab al-Barnawi, as the new leader of the terrorist group.
Fani-Kayode told DailyPost that the development was a call on the Nigerian government and security agencies to do more as the duo would carry out more daring attacks.
“A far as I am concerned, they can both destroy one another and burn in hell. Anyone that targets Christians and Churches, or indeed any innocent civilians for slaughter, is not worthy of life. They are vermin and they must be crushed. Shekau is evil but Al-Barnawi is even worse; he is the devil incarnate. He represents ISIS and we all know what that means.
“Nigeria is in a mess. If it is not Boko Haram that is slaughtering our people it is the Fulani herdsmen. They are doing these despicable things with the active connivance and support of a few people that are in the corridors of power today whose objective it is to islamise our nation.
“The bible says ‘there is no fellowship between light and darkness’. We have said it before and we will say it again: we must restructure Nigeria before it is too late. If we fail to do so we must reconsider our so-called unity. If things don’t change quickly we must consider the possibility of peacefully dividing our country and renegotiating our union.”
“We cannot afford to wait any longer because we are playing with fire. We must do everything peacefully and we must not allow these butchers to provoke us into another civil war”.
So the screenshot you see below is alleged to be Nollywood actor, Mofe Duncan’s flirty chat with a lady who obviously is not his wife.
With the way news spread on Social media, we’re sure that his wife will see this in no time and the “Taste of Love” actor will have some explaining to do…
The family of Olachi Manndarin Emmanuel, are completely inconsolable over the death of their daughter was passed away this week after a few days in coma.
A family member, Ben Eziefule, took to Facebook to narrate how Olachi met her husband in 2014, fell in love and got married in 2015.
Last year she got pregnant with their first child. During child birth, she developed complications around the waist that affected a bone in her body that caused minor paralysis and resulted in her being confined in a wheelchair.
Her husband who is a young rich Port Harcourt guy from Benue State, failed to care for her after she returned home with her injuries. He reportedly started beating and verbally abusing her at the slightest provocation.
Basically, the sight of her began to irritate him and when he became fed up, he packed her things and sent her back to her parents house.
A few weeks ago, Olachi’s condition deteriorated and she fell into a coma. Sadly, she never recovered – and passed away. Her burial ceremony took place today. Scroll down to see more photos plus what her cousin posted on FB.
Ben Eziefule writes…
“I bleed and talk out of anger tonight as I watch a small innocent girl ready to be committed to mother earth at 24 years tomorrow being Friday and her daughter will be 1year by next tomorrow being Saturday .
“To this wicked, devilish, stupid, heartless and a fool of a husband that took a girl of 22 years, married her and got her pregnant and returned her back sick to her parents and left her on a sick bed as a result of her breaking her waist during child birth, u will die like her. u are such an animal and a disappointment to humanity. U were not forced to marry her and what u used to pay her back for the love she showed to you and left every other suitor for you is to return her back and never set ur eyes on the innocent girl for close to a year, note even when she was in coma for weeks before death.
“U Mr. Benue man, u did dis cos she is not from Benue state and u work in the oil company in Port Harcourt and u have money, but let me without fear tell you that Vengance is coming cos God is ready to Avenge. U beat up the innocent girl even on clutches just for her to go, I ask when u married her, was she disabled? U abandoned an innocent girl that is not up to a year cos u want to have nothing to do with ur wife.
“Legally married and wedded in the church. hahahahahaha I see the God of Vangance striking. Man u are very stupid for saying u can only give the family #30,000 for the burial of ur own wife.
“Where have the love u both shared gone to? Why are u heartless, y did u kill ur wife and abandoned a girl that will be 1 year old by Saturday to wander in dis wicked world without the care of a mother. the people of Owerri west LGA of Imo state and the entire imolites must rise to get justice.
“I will make sure justice is gotten. Above all u refused her to be buried in ur place, man I want to ask u, what on earth has this small girl done that can’t be corrected or resolved or settled or forgiven ? Why must u surfer her to die at this age? Finished university in 2014, served and married u in the same year 2015 and u wickedly killed her in 2016. Venngance is coming and God must Avange her death.
“Rip MRS. Olachi and I wish your Dad is alive to prevent this insult and injustice to ur family,. My prayers are that the God of Vengance should Avenge ur death. Rip, I write with a heavy heart .good night Olachi Mandarina Emmanuel.”
George who is a close family friend has this to say in response to our report:
Pls verify ur facts correctly so that u wont misguide d public.D poster should declare his relationship with another man’s wife that makes him cry more than d bereaved rather than seeking political relevance through Rochas foundation and social media. I am a close family friend and couple neighbor in their ph residence. The truth needs to be told so that d public won’t be misguided and lay curses that might back fire on them. This guy lost his job close to a year ago and things became worse finacially. This guy was using his Honda as airport Taxi 2 support mother and child. It was a mutual agreement for her to go and stay temporally with her family when she could no longer cope with d financially situation,3 months ago.But d couple was still in contact with each other. This guy being accused was later recalled on a part time job on a Rig oil field, 3 weeks b4 d death of d wife. This made him unavoidably absent when d wife was bed ridden. However, he maintained steady call conversation with the wife.At least I saw d proof myself.D say oil Rig workers are rich but when u experience d agony of not being around with ur family when there is any medical emergency u will understand what I mean.During d wife’s illness, d last time he spoke with her she assured him that she was fine.Against all odds, this guy abandoned the Rig location when he could no longer hear any news about d wife. When he finally came to see d wife at her family house in Obinze,he discovered that she was taken to one prayer home at world bank.Could u believe that when this guy finally got there to take her for better medical attention, he was chased out by security men and d police becos he was accused of disturbing d peace of d prayer house. This guy came back to ph confused with anger. When he finally came back n succeeded in taking custudy of his wife, she was already in coma and all hospitals rejected her with d excuse that they don’t have oxygen. When he got 2 FMC,they could not admit her at the emergency ward for lack of bed space. He still managed to take her to another clinic with d elder sister where she later died in his hands. This same guy that is being paraded as evil still took him to d mortuary and deposited her body, paying all fees required. Some say he did not attend d burial but that is a blatant lie. How can someone who has the teller to claim d corpse from mortuary not attend d burial? If so, how was her body recovered from d mortuary b4 d burial? The issue was that this Ben Eziefule of a guy has gone on social media spreading wrong information to youths and d community. The youths became angry on the false information they were given, threatened to kill d guy if d set eye on him. The family of d deceased on getting this info protected d deceased husband in their house so that he won’t be harassed by d angry mob. After d burial, it was d same family members that organized a special anti robbery squad that eventually sneaked d guy out of d community. It’s quite unfortunate that our society buy over any false story without confirming d authenticity. All these curses people have been pouring on social media on this guy. Will d take it back if eventually d were misled? I see the poster just wanted to take advantage of d misfortune by making himself politically relevant, when he is neither a relative, family friend or even from d same community with d deceased. There are many things people don’t know but I have to open up for justice and for people not to be misled. Are they aware the deceased died of a terminal disease which even d family was covering up from d husband? Are they aware that this guy has been jobless for close to a year? Are they aware that d deceased never visited the husbands home even when d husband made several attempts? Are they aware that family issues escalated when their financial situations became worse and the guy later discovered she was building a 7 bedroom apartment from d allowance he was giving her when the going was good, when they can hardly boast of land or house in ph? Are they aware that d deceased was also buried inside d house she was unable to finish as a youth copa?My direct conversations with d husband and proofs he showed me made me believe him. He might also have some bad behavior since no one is perfect but unfortunately the deceased is no more to say her own side of the story. So my questions are. If this guy abandoned d wife, why did he maintain phone conversations? Why did he abandon his work station to rescue his wife? Who took her to the hospital where she finally died?Which people was present when she died?Who paid d hospital bills? Who took her to mortuary?Who bought d casket? Who provided for d burial rites? Inside where was she buried? Why did d family members protect the husband from being beaten or killed? What is his relationship with d diseased?Only if d narrator can truly answer all these questions, then I can believe his claims. D diseased has 5 siblings, 2 guys and 3 ladies including d elder sister who is also not with d husband. Why has none of these direct members of d family come out to support the comments of this imposter? RIP Olachi.God bless all.
