Foreign pop star, Chris Brown has reportedly been released on bail after his dramatic arrest after a tense 11-hour stand-off with the police.
According to records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, he was released on £250,000 bail today.
The star’s attorney Mark Geragos tweeted shortly after: “Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes. Chris is out and well. The allegations against him are demonstrably false.”
This is after he was held on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon – a beauty queen identified as Baylee Curran spoke to TMZ about the alleged incident, claiming the singer threatened her with a gun after she admired a piece of jewellery.

Baylee revealed she had “partied” with Chris in the past and said he had always been “nice” but this time was “out of it“. On Monday night she claims to have gone to his Tarzana mansion where they hungout in a hot tub and were having fun, until she admired a piece of jewellery worn by a member of Chris’ crew.

She says she came to his house with a friend, spent a little time in the hot tub, and then walked back inside where a member of Chris’ crew was displaying jewelry. Baylee says when she admired one piece the guy went nuts, and then Chris followed suit by demanding she “get the f*** out” and pointed a gun at her.

She says as she tried to leave Chris’ crew wouldn’t let her take her cell phone until she signed a non-disclosure agreement. She refused to sign, and she and her friend left.

The Anti-Robbery Squad of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, has arrested a four-man gang that had allegedly been terrorising residents of the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspects – Akin Ayotunde, Isaac Ogbonna, Sola Dede and Sodiq Lawal – specialised in lurking around houses at night and switching off their victims’ generators before attacking them.
They, however, met their Waterloo last Thursday when they were arrested after invading the apartment of one Bello Hakeem in the Igbe area.
Our correspondent was told that the suspects spent six hours in the victim’s duplex and went away with his car, generator, money, phones, Automated Teller Machine cards, modems, laptops and cash.
They also stole his wife’s jewellery and withdrew N100,000 using one of the ATM cards.
Hakeem told our correspondent that around 11.09pm on Tuesday, he observed that his generator suddenly went off and he asked two of his children to go outside and fix the problem.
“About five minutes after they left, they were forced back into the house by four men, who were armed with knives.
“They ordered us to cooperate with them. They searched the house and made away with three laptops, six phones, three ATM cards, a new 3.5KVA generator, one 75alms battery, two modems, jewellery, cash, and my Toyota Corolla. They held my family hostage for six hours before leaving at about 6am the next day,” he added.
Hakeem, an environmental scientist, said he reported the incident at the Ijede Police Station, adding that the suspects were able to withdraw N100,000 from his First Bank account before he deactivated all the stolen ATM cards.
He said two days after the incident, a friend called him that a car that looked like his own had been put up for sale.
He said operatives from the SCIID, Yaba, were alerted and the suspects were rounded up.
The four suspects, who confessed to the crime, said they operated with knives to avoid bloodshed.
The gang leader, Ayotunde, 27, said,
“I used to sell garri with my grandma in a market before a former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, demolished shops in the market. I tried another job, but it didn’t work.
“I then sold the idea of robbing houses to my friends and we agreed to use only knives and not guns. We always lurk around developing areas in Ikorodu at night, look for any house that had its generator on, scale the fence and put off the generator. When the occupants of the house come out to check the generator, we attack. We made N60,000 from our first operation in March.
“I was arrested when the man whom I had given the man’s car to called me that he had found a buyer. He said the buyer had paid N700,000 for the vehicle and that I should come for my share. We agreed to meet at a restaurant in Ojota. But on getting there, I discovered that it was a set up and I was arrested.”
Ogbonna, 23, an indigene of Ebonyi State, said he was looking for money for the treatment of his elder sister when he was invited to join the gang.
“My sister needed blood transfusion and I had to look for money by all means. I got N25,000 from the operation,” he added.
The third suspect, 24-year-old Dede, from Ondo State, said he joined the group because he was told nobody would be killed, adding that he needed money to change his apartment.
He said, “An Alfa told me to move out of my family house because there was a spiritual force working against the success of men in the house. I needed money to change my apartment.”
The police also arrested the receiver of some of the stolen items, Akeem Lawal, who claimed that the suspects lied to him that the goods were imported.
The Police Public Relations officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest, adding that investigations were ongoing.
She said, “The last house they robbed belonged to a couple who quickly alerted the police. They were trailed and arrested. They are currently undergoing interrogation at the command.”

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command, yesterday, said it had concluded plans to dock a Catholic priest, Reverend Father Anthony Ochigbo, before an Abuja High Court over allegation that he raped a 10-year-old girl.
The Officer-in-Charge of Legal Matters at the Command, Mr. James Idachaba, made the disclosure after he applied and withdrew an initial one-count rape charge Police entered against the priest before an Abuja Upper Area Court at Gudu.
The Upper Area court judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, had on Monday, remanded Rev. Ochigbo in prison custody, even as he adjourned ruling on the defendant’s application for bail. However, at the resumed sitting, the prosecuting counsel, Chief Superintendent of Police, Mr. Idachaba, persuaded the Upper Area Court judge to hands off the matter for a higher court to take over the trial.
Idachaba, who anchored his application on Section 106 of Administration of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA, 2015, stressed that the Upper Area Court was bereft of the requisite jurisdiction to handle the case.
The prosecution told the court that it was the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), that okayed the transfer of the matter to a higher court.
Despite objection by the defence counsel, Mr. Godwin Chukwukere, the court acceded to the withdrawal request. The judge said he had no option than to strike out the initial First Information Report before him and discharge the defendant. Nevertheless, the priest is still in police detention awaiting his arraignment before the high court.

Are they pulling our legs or what?! They shouldn’t toy with us oh!
Female music sensation and rapper, Simi and Ycee, took to Twitter moments ago to… It’s a lie joor! It’s pure sarcasm! They can’t just come and fool us like that… On the last day of August? We’re not falling for it! *eyes rolling*.
The two took to Twitter moments ago to “act” like they’re secretly dating but now, have let “the dog outta the bag”…
Do you believe them? Some fans even said is the rapper not too young for her bu she said age is just a number… See below:

So, I thought I was the only one who is rather pissed at Chidinma’s silence..No new music from her, no material, nothing.. Just bunch of new pictures, and promoting her colleagues works on her instagram page.
Apparently, I’m not the only one who shares this sentiment, here’s an open letter from a big fan of Chidinma. Read below:
Miss Kedike Chidinma Your Silence Lately Is Rather Annoying Than Golden.
As a very concerned fan, I’m deeply worried about your inactivity lately in the music industry. The last quarter of the year is lurking around the corner; your fans are starved as you have not served any meaningful tune lately. Oh please don’t remind me about the few features you graced this year.
In my candid opinion, none of those songs can be nominated on any award show as “Collaboration of the Year”. Let me prove to you I am a fan, I will possibly name all songs you have been featured that I am aware. “I Am A Winner”, “All I Want is You”, “Mama”, “Bless Me”, that means I have been keeping up. Unfortunately, none of those songs has inspired much of an applause. It was another song with Miss Kedike.
You brought home KORA award as the Best Female West African Act in 2012, can you do that now in 2016? I mean can you win an award now over Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, or maybe even a Simi? Except that must be a charity award. It’s been four years since you bagged an award, ain’t you hungry for one now? A lot has changed since you dropped your debut studio album roughly four years ago. Let me remind you a bit.
New talents are now on the block, some have already released solid debut albums. I’m sure you are aware of Lil Kesh, Kiss Daniel, Adekunle Gold. In a bit to be fair let me remind you of Simi, Aramide these girls are killing it will their voices. Besides, there is Seyi Shay in the block, Yemi Alade has since left your class as she has two albums to her name and with strong claims as “Mama Africa”. I dare not mention Tiwa Savage, ain’t nothing stopping her not even here marriage and her new kid, she is headed worldwide.
As a fan, I can’t say which direction you going with your music. I got news of your exit from Capital Hill Records, and wide speculations you have pitch tent with Flavour’s 2nite Entertainment. Hold on a second, is the Nigerian economy directly impacting your music? One thing that bugs me is your propensity to kiss your male counterparts in music videos or during a stage performance, never mind, it’s none of my business. I sincerely hope you know there is no sleeping on a bicycle as music in Nigeria is concerned.
I hate to say this, after your successful run with “Eni Mi Baller” it seems you took a chill pill, pulled a back seat and became nonchalant. Earnestly we miss the attitude you brought into your popular songs “Eni Mi Baller” and “Kedike”. Why are you still being referred to as “Miss Kedike”? It’s simple; there has been nothing really impactful you have done to be christened after, SMH. You seriously have to thank MTN and Coca-Cola for giving you flashes of the Spotlight. I begin to wonder what would have been your fate without them. I wouldn’t want to imagine.
I have suddenly lost interest in bearing my thoughts and those of numerous fans about you. This is where I end my tirade. Dear Miss Kedike you can do better.
Sincerely,
A big fan of yours.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) through its Lagos Zone Coordinator, Prof. Olusoji Sowande at a news conference in Lagos on Tuesday, threatened to embark on a nationwide strike in regards to its demands for the implementation of its 2009 agreement with the Federal Government.
Sowande said the 2009 FG/ASUU agreement, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on funding of state universities, breaches of the conditions of service and re-negotiation of the agreement, exclusion of Nigerian universities from Pension Management Company and non-release of NEEDS Assessment Intervention Fund were still being ignored. The
He said:
“The review of the agreement should have been undertaken in 2012 and 2015 but that did not happen. “The implication is that our union has shown enough patriotism and understanding on these matters in the last four years.
“We are perplexed and disappointed that both the Federal and State Governments are not responding to our consistent appeals to bring about genuine transformation in the education sector.
He said they would rather not embark on a strike because it is the Students and ASUU members that end up suffering. Adding:
“It is unfortunate that the only language government appears to respect and listens to is that of industrial action like strike”.

Facebook Founder, Mark Zuckerberg, yesterday, arrived Nigeria unannounced. The 32-year-old tech enterpreneur surprisingly made a sudden visit and inspection of activities at the Co-Creation Hub, Yaba Lagos.
His arrival to Nigeria is not unconnected to the ‘Facebook for developers’ workshop’ for Nigerian engineers, product managers and partners holding today in Lagos. The event is expected to help the engineers build better applications and monetise them more effectively.
Before his arrival, it was earlier announced that the company’s Director of Global product Partnerships, Nigeria’s Ime Archibong was to lead speakers to the event where Facebook would unveil a ten-year roadmap that can help improve Nigeria’s economy Facebook is an online social networking service based in Menlo Park, California, United States, which Zuckerberg and his fellow Harvard College students and roommates, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes formed on February 4, 2004.
After its initial public offering, IPO in February 2012, Facebook began selling stock to the public three months later, reaching an original peak market capitalization of $104 billion. On July 13, 2015, it became the fastest company in the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index to reach a market cap of $250 billion.
As of March this year, Facebook had hit over 1.65 billion monthly active users out of which 7.1 million people are daily users from Nigeria. This makes the country Africa’s biggest user of the social media platform.
However, Vanguard gathered that it was for security reasons that Zuckerberg’s plan to visit Nigeria and his eventual arrival was kept top secret.
A close source who spoke to Vanguard said:
“It was a top secret and nobody was meant to know before his arrival. It was actually for security reasons but now that he is here, he would be able to interact with tech professionals and other Nigerians today in a press conference at Eko Hotel and Suites tomorrow (today).”
Being his first trip to Africa, Zuckerberg on arrival met with developers and partners, and also explored Nollywood.
One of his first stops on the trip was to visit a ‘Summer of Code Camp’ at the Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) in Yaba, known as the Silicon Valley of Nigeria where young developers learn how to code and develop their solutions while looking for mentors and angel investors.
At CcHub, Zuckerberg met with developers like Temi Giwa, who runs a platform called Life Bank that makes blood available when and where it is needed in Nigeria.
Life Bank saves lives by mobilizing blood donations, taking inventory of all blood available in the country, and delivering blood in the right condition to where it is needed.
Thrilled by level of technology development at the CcHub, Mark Zuckerberg, said, “This is my first trip to sub-Saharan Africa. I’ll be meeting with developers and entrepreneurs, and learning about the startup ecosystem in Nigeria. The energy here is amazing and I’m excited to learn as much as I can. “The first place I got to visit was the Co-creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB) in Yaba. I got to talk to kids at a summer coding camp and entrepreneurs who come to CcHub to build and launch their apps. I’m looking forward to meeting more people in Nigeria.”

A shocking incident has seen two women stripped and mercilessly beaten by an angry mob before they were rescued by the police. The women were said to have conned a man about Sh17,000 (N52,000) in Embu town of Kenya.
According to a report by Nairobi News, Embu Deputy Police boss Ziro Arome said the women, identified as Wincate Mukami and Faith Wangui, had been moving around town under the guise of selling SIM cards while tricking unsuspecting people.
But, their cups got full after they conned a businessman on Monday evening. The man raised alarm which attracted people.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is visiting Nigeria this week on his first trip to Africa, using his time in the country to visit the Yaba technology hub in Lagos, meet with developers and partners, and explore Nollywood.
Zuckerberg is in Nigeria to listen and learn and take ideas back to California on how Facebook can better support tech development and entrepreneurship across Africa.
One of his first stops on the trip was to visit a ‘Summer of Code Camp’ at the Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) in Yaba, known as the Silicon Valley of Nigeria.
CcHub opened in 2011 and at the time didn’t even have an office. Five years later they fill three floors and the roof of a building. At CcHub people can learn how to code, developers can get help launching their first products, and find mentors and funding.
At CcHub Zuckerberg met with developers like Temi Giwa, who runs a platform called Life Bank that makes blood available when and where it is needed in Nigeria. Life Bank saves lives by mobilizing blood donations, taking inventory of all blood available in the country, and delivering blood in the right condition to where it is needed.
After visiting CcHub Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, said: “This is my first trip to sub-Saharan Africa.
Meeting developers at Andela
Mark then went to Andela, an engineering organization that is building the next generation of technical leaders in Africa.
Andela is a business that recruits the most talented technologists in Africa and shapes them into world-class developers through a four-year technical leadership program. In the two years since it was founded, Andela has accepted just over 200 engineers from a pool of more than 40,000 applicants. Andela developers spend six months mastering a technical stack and contributing to open source projects before being placed with global technology companies as full-time, distributed teammates, working out of Andela headquarters in Lagos and Nairobi.
Earlier this year, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative invested in Andela after being impressed by the company’s innovative model of learning and its drive to connect the global technology ecosystem with the most talented developers in Africa.
Seni Sulyman, Director, Andela Lagos, said: “We are excited and honored to welcome Mark Zuckerberg to Lagos. His visit reinforces not only his support of Andela’s mission, but his belief that indeed the next generation of great technology leaders will come out of Lagos, Nigeria and cities across Africa. Andela has created a platform for passionate, driven software developers and engineers to break into the global tech ecosystem, but the barriers to entry are still very high. Mark’s visit demonstrates to all Nigerian developers and entrepreneurs that they’ve caught the attention of the tech world, and they are capable of succeeding on a truly global level.”
At the end of the day Zuckerberg stopped by an Express WiFi stand in Lagos owned by Rosemary Njoku. Facebook’s Express WiFi lets entrepreneurs like Rosemary set up a hot spot to help their community access apps and services built by local developers.

The groom, Abdulrasheed, aka Skillz is a multi-talented musician, music producer and a leading member of the JJC and 419 Squad based in London.
