36 year old Monica Mares and her son, Caleb Peterson whom she gave up for adoption right after he was born 19 years ago, have fallen in love with each other after they were reunited, Daily Mail reports.
The mother and son, whose forbidden love affair could land them lengthy jail terms, have declared they are madly in love and nothing will tear them apart.
They have vowed to fight for their right to have a sexual relationship and are appealing to the public to help donate to their legal fund and support them.
Mother-of-nine Monica was just 16 when she gave birth to her son and reconnected with him over Facebook before arranging to meet up last Christmas.
The 36-year-old said it was almost love at first sight for them when they met. They soon began a sexual relationship and Caleb moved in with his mum and her two youngster children – his own half siblings.
In an interview with Daily Mail Online, the couple told how they are willing to risk everything to be together and have decided to go public with their affair in a bid to raise awareness of Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA) relationships.
There relationship came to light when they were reported to the police and charged with incest, a fourth-degree felony in New Mexico where they both reside.
They are banned from having contact with each other – they were interviewed separately – and live apart in Clovis, New Mexico, while they await a trial next month.
Currently, Mares is not allowed to see any of her children yet she maintains that it has all been worth it.
While her sister was photoed working as a sales girl for the summer break, first daughter of the United States President, Malia Obama was seen allegedly puffing on what seems to be a stick of marijuana.

After its investigations into the alleged intention to defraud Nigerians by Mayowa’s Ahmed’s family, the Lagos State Police Command, today ascertained that there was no Fraud involved.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, who confirmed this today, said the command therefore had to remove the embargo placed on the accounts, where the sum of N81million and 100,000 dollars, were raised by public spirited Nigerians, home and abroad.
He said according to their findings, the controversy was caused by misunderstandings over the modalities for dispensing and controlling the money between the Ahmed family, the Nollywood actress, Toyin Aihmaku and Life Stake Foundation.
He also added that the trio had raised the money with genuine intent, adding that barring any unforeseen circumstance, Mayowa should be flown out of the country for treatment.

It has been confirmed that the Spiritual leader of the Celestial Church of Christ, Paul Suru Maforikan (Baba Maforikan) has died after a protracted illness at 10:30 pm on Tuesday 9th August 2016, at the age of 86.
Prophet Suru became the spiritual father of the church after Gilbert Oluwatosin Jesse (who was the spiritual head at the time) died in October 2003.
This was announced by Akossou Severin of the CIRCUIT HEAD at Celestial Ado-Ekiti 3, Ekiti State.
Maforikan was born on 19 September 1930 in Ajase, Benin, where his father had moved from Badagry. He was a member of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) before joining the Celestial Church Of Christ in 1948, shortly after its foundation. He followed the Pastor Founder S.B.J. Oschoffa to Nigeria.

Ethiopian Olympic swimmer, Robel Kiros Habte finished last in the Preliminary Men’s 100m Freestyle heats at the Olympic Aquatics Stadium.
The 24 year old was the only one of the 59 entrants in the heats not to complete the distance in under a minute. He was ranked 59th with a time of 1 minute 4.95 seconds.
The winner Kyle Chalmers, from Australia, finished on top with a time of 47.9 seconds. He got a huge cheer from the crowd after finally finishing his lap.
“I am so happy because it is my first competition in the Olympics… I wanted to do something different for my country, that’s why I chose swimming. Everybody, every day you wake up in Ethiopia, you run. Not swimming. But I didn’t want to run; I wanted to be a swimmer.”
The Ethiopia-based university student, whose entry for Rio was secured on a special invitation from world body FINA (International Swimming Federation) extended to athletes from under-represented countries.
Prior to the olympics Habte’s best time was 59.9 seconds…..
The Telegraph reports that ‘It may be some time before Habte is described as ‘sculpted’ or ‘chiselled’, and he has no plans on competing again, but he will always be an Olympian. For him, Rio was never about the winning, only the taking part.’
Okorom Nhabu Favor, 36, Izuchukwu Chuwuma, 40, Nnamezie Victor, 30, Simon Maduka Ukadu, 45, Sunday Nwabusi, 31, Okorom Kizito Chimedu, 35, Francis Nnamedi, 30, Tony Mmaduka Chuwuonye, 34, and his girlfriend, Cambodian Morn Vinyung, 31 who were reportedly dealing drugs from a Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries branch had their charges of drug trafficking upheld yesterday on the final day of their trial, and the judge will release his verdict on September 12.
Despite an admission of guilt from Ms. Vinyung, Mr. Chuwuonye’s girlfriend at the time of their arrest, all eight men denied the charges against them, saying they were Christian missionaries who came to Phnom Penh to open a church.
Captain Proeung Pheap, deputy chief of the Anti-Drug Unit at the 9th Intervention Police Office in the Ministry of Interior’s anti-drug department, said the group was using their Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries church as a front for a drug ring, hiding their identities and trafficking under the guise of missionary work.
He claimed police discovered the illegal operation after Ms. Vinyung delivered drugs to undercover officers three separate times at the Sovanna supermarket in Chamkarmon district in January 2015, Cambodia’s news website, KHMER Times reports.
“Among these nine accused people, Morn Vinyung and Francis Nnamedi were arrested after they brought a package of drugs for sale to our undercover officer,” he said. “The other accused people were later arrested based on the answers of Morn Vinyung and Francis Nnamedi.” The other seven men were arrested when police raided three rented homes in Chamkarmon district’s Boeung Tumpon commune in Phnom Penh on January 8 and 9 in 2015.
Police said they had been watching the group for a long time and alleged that their ringleader, Obieze Kenneth Uche, was still on the run.
During the trial, Ms. Vinyung said she had been dating Mr. Chuwuonye, also known as Tony, for three months before their arrest. She told the court that her boyfriend paid her $100 to take a package to an unidentified man three separate times.
“I admit that I really did bring the package from Tony and gave it to his clients at the Sovanna supermarket, but I did not know that the packages were drugs,” she told the court. “If I had known that the packages were drugs, I would not have agreed to bring them, even though Tony offered to pay me money.”
The eight Nigerian nationals vehemently denied the allegations, saying they were Christians, not drug dealers.
Mr. Chuwuonye acknowledged that he had dated Ms. Vinyung, but said he never asked her to take drugs anywhere.
“I was not a drug trafficker. I am a Christian missionary. I did not do any of the things I am accused of,” he said.
Mr. Victor, the leader of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries church in Phnom Penh, said he volunteered to come to Cambodia from Nigeria as a Christian missionary in 2014 and has run the church in Chamkarmon district since then.
“Police arrested me while I was praying at my own home. They handcuffed me and called me a drug dealer,” he said. “But I don’t know anything about this case or about any drugs. I am the victim of accusations and arrest by the police.”
He claimed police forced him to confess during an interrogation session.
Mr. Chimedu, Mr. Victor’s brother and an assistant at his church, said he had nothing to do with drug dealing but was arrested when police raided his home in Boeung Tumpon commune on January 8. Police found no drugs or paraphernalia at his home during their raid, he said.
“I was a church assistant, and my job was to prepare bibles and prayer ceremonies for foreigners every weekend,” he said. “I have never smoked or used drugs in my life. I’ve never even seen drugs.”

New bride, Christine Quinn asked her 89-year-old grandma, Nana Betty to be her bridesmaid and the octogenarian said yes!
Quinn’s grandma kept asking her if she was sure she wanted an old woman to be on her train.
“She asked me about 10 times, ‘Are you sure?’ and ‘Why would you want an old lady in your bridal party?” Nana Betty asked.
“She had the entire wedding party laughing with her words of wisdom and funny comments throughout the day,” Quinn told Huffpost.
“Nana got on the party bus with the rest of the wedding party instead of ‘going home to rest’ but did not tell my mom (her daughter).
She also danced the entire night away, including an adorable moment when she and my husband’s grandmother, Bellsie, danced together. It was amazing. “You’re only as old as you feel and I feel young today,” Nana said.
A fire has ripped through a maternity ward at a hospital in Iraq, killing 12 newborn babies.
The country’s health ministry says the blaze broke out overnight inside the maternity department at the Yarmouk hospital, in the west of the city.
Nineteen women suffered burns and smoke inhalation and were transferred to another hospital for treatment.
The ministry said the fire was probably caused by an electrical fault. No other details were immediately available.
Electrical fires are common in Iraq because of shoddy maintenance and poor wiring. A lack of fire escapes also contributes to the danger whenever a fire breaks out. There is also widespread failure by construction companies and those providing building material to follow accepted standards.

A shocking photograph has surfaced online of a young boy tied to a tree like a goat in China by his family for being too naughty.
People’s Daily Online report that the four-year-old identified by his surname Zhong, was recently spotted by passersby in the Yongchuan district of Chongqing.
The child, who is is looked after by his ageing aunt and uncle while his father works in another town to earn cash to pay off heavy debts.
In January 2015, the child’s mother died from Meningitis. The uncle and aunt who are in their 60s say that they are not able to care for the boy as he is too naughty.
A while ago, the boy disappeared and it took a team of locals hours to find him.
A picture appeared on Chinese media shows the boy playing in a spare concrete mixer, which his family say is incredibly dangerous.
Terrified that they would lose him again, the couple decided to take drastic action, tying him to a tree using rope.
Former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Lagos state in the 2015 election, Mr Jimi Agbaje has vowed that he will lead the party back to winning ways if elected chairman of the party at the Port Harcourt Convention.
Speaking with Journalists shortly after he picked the nomination forms for the chairmanship position of the party in Abuja, Mr Agbaje said as a candidate who does not belong to any of the factions in the party, he stands a better chance to unite all the contending forces in the party.
According to him, it was high time the party learnt from its mistakes of the past that cost it power at the national level as well as some states that it had previously won.
He said:
“We accept that mistakes were made in the past in the PDP, especially with our internal democracy. So we have to go back to the position of the founding fathers of our party on internal democracy “And that means that we have go back to our constitution. That is very important. We have to be more all inclusive as we have been thus far. It is about bringing people nearer rather than sending them far away from the party. Everybody must feel to be part of this party.
“what I bring to the table is that I am not a member of any faction or any tendencies. I am in a position to talk to everybody, to ensure that if you love the PDP, then it is time to come back to the zone.
I will appeal to those who feel very strongly to join us because Nigeria cannot make the progress it deserves without a viable opposition and that PDP is going to provide that opposition as an alternative government and in a responsible manner.
Minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun, says the country at this point, has no choice but to borrow to invest in the Nigerian economy.
Speaking at a town hall meeting in Abuja, she said the federal government is very conscious and conservative about its borrowing, so as not to leave a heavy debt burden for future generations.
She’s quoted as saying:
“We have a very conservative borrowing programme, and we must borrow; because to do rail — the rail that we have now was done in the colonial era — there has been really significant upgrade,” she said.
“We have urgently to do rail to enable agriculture and solid minerals to be competitive, so I really don’t see that there is any option than to borrow.
“We will borrow sustainably; we would borrow conservatively to make sure that we don’t burden future generation.”
Adeosun however stated that the government would be different in its approach to borrowing this time, and would not borrow to fund recurrent expenditure. Rather, it will be to fund infrastructural development.
“The difference is, we’ve been borrowing in the past to pay salaries; now we borrow to invest,” she said.
“When you borrow to invest, there is an expectation that there will be additional revenue that will service those borrowings.
“I think that is the clear difference. I don’t think people should be unduly concerned about borrowing; we have to borrow, we have no choice but we will borrow as strictly as possible.
“This is why we have approached the World Bank and export credit organisations that provide concessional loans. We are taking concessional loans before going for commercial loans.”
She said the size of the public sector is an evidence of the failure to develop the private sector, adding that the latter should be the major employer in the country.
Adeosun said investments must be made in infrastructure to create an environment for the growth of the private sector.
An elderly man hit with his walking stick, an alleged prostitute after she’d claimed he only paid her £2 for her services.
The footage captured in Walsall, West Mids, first shows the elderly man walking peacefully with the young woman before the confrontation where the woman claims to have not been paid fully for her services.
The woman is filmed screaming:
“I want my money, I want my money, I want my money.” She then threatens to ring the police and turns to the person filming and says: “He won’t pay me. He’s just done sex and a bl*w job with me. He tried to give me two quid.” Give me 20 quid.”
The elderly gentleman, then raised his walking stick at the young woman who says: “Hit me with it then.” He appears to strike her and then she says:
“Don’t you f*****g ever hit me.”
The man behind the camera says: “You’re a naughty man.”
This is the quite hilarious moment a dolphin, obviously fed up of posing for photos, decided to snatch a woman’s iPad out of her hands.
The sea creature, whose habitat is in a tank at SeaWorld Orlando in Florida, can be seen leaping up out of its pool and grabbing the tablet in its mouth.
Viral photos show how within a split second, it dragged the device back into the water, and the iPad is almost fully submerged before she can rescue it from the pool.
Motivational speaker and ace comedian, Ali Baba has spoken on why it’s so much better to let go when hurt in relationships than trying to seek revenge…
According to him:
I heard a story yesterday, that I related with.. Many times, the human side of us, had kicked in and tempered with our thought processes, that then led us to taking decisions or doing something that we eventually regretted. Or may be didn’t care who got hurt. I have been a victim of taking decisions when I am seriously vexed. And I can tell you for free that it usually is not funny, when you realize how much good it would have been if you just calmed down. It’s not easy but making an effort to remember that you could be doing the wrong thing helps a lot.
You meet a guy with your babe in an uncompromising position. You killed him. And go to jail. She gets to date anyone she likes. You lost her and lost your freedom to boot. What if you walked away? Hard to do but possible. You caught him cheating and you break his windscreen. Or stabbed him. Happy now? So, Kunle is married and a GM of a bank. He had an affair, he shouldn’t have, so he decided to break it off. And after the talk they part ways.
Miss Babe managed to acclimatize with the new status of not having the regular goodies and became very bitter and resorted to blackmail. Sadly she was so bent on revenge that she blocked and blanked a certain single guy that was crushing on her. Unknown to her, he could even take care of her better than the married GM. But her anger was too focused on pay back that she nearly missed out. Long story short, she contacted me to help her get an MC for her wedding. Yes. She is getting married. Sometimes letting go of the hurt is the only way you can move pass the past. Or anything that grieves your heart. Revenge and heaping angry words on the person that hurt you, just to get even, may be cool but not advisable. In a nutshell, the worst time to let your tongue rule you is when you are angry. Because the heart is not so smart
World’s No. 1 female tennis player, Serena Williams has unfortunately, crashed out of the 2016 Rio olympics after suffering a shocking defeat.
She lost a tough third round match against Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina on Tuesday night. She appeared to have a shoulder problem and was close to tears as she lost 6-4, 6-3 to Elina.
Serena and sister Venus are the most successful players in Olympic tennis history with four gold medals each.
Fastest male runner in Nigeria, Seye Ogunlewe is set to race against world’s fastest man this Saturday, 13th of August.
The 24-year old athlete was interviewed by BBC in Rio for the 2016 Olympics while he prepares for the men’s 100m race with Jamaican gold medalist Olympian, Usain Bolt.
This is what BBC has to say about Seye Ogunlewe.
“Nigeria’s fastest man, Seye Ogunlewe, has been bracing for the men’s 100 meters at the Rio Olympics, later this week. His ultimate goal is – almost certainly– to defeat the big favorite Usain Bolt and he’s allegedly said that he will “shock the world”. The BBC’s Ben James asked him to elaborate on that, but our colleague began by asking him what its takes to confront and possibly pip a sprinting legend at the post.”
In the interview, Seye Ogunlewe speaks preparing for his race,
“It’s just general preparation like what we’ve been doing before. You train, eat, recover, get treatment, do a lot of psychological work, visualise the race [and] just enjoy the moment – don’t think about it too much just relax. But also think about why you’re here and the country’s flag and how you want to do the best for yourself and the country.”
On Usain Bolt’s love for fries and chicken nuggets/fried chicken, Seye says “Different people have different things that work for them. Some people can eat fries, chicken and still do ok some people are really rigid and want to do everything, some of us are like that for instance you can eat fries but not a ridiculous amount of fries.”.
On eating Brazilian foods, there are variety of stuffs but I’m not really too keen on going to experiment at this stage in the competition because I don’t know what is what so I just stick to what I know, maybe rice, veg [vegetables] chicken and fish. Maybe after I finish running I’ll start experimenting on different Brazilian foods or Chinese foods.
Seye Ogunlewe on visualizing the race and finishing ahead of Usain Bolt says it’s a different side to psychology.
“You have to visualise yourself doing the right things concecutively and its just a process, you need to stick to your own process. You can think about it but dont let it overwhelm you and make you loose focus on what you’re meant to be doing,” he said.
Seye also clarified the news that said he boosted on shocking the world at Rio.
“I saw the interview and I was like, I never said that why did you say that? [They said] they were like just trying to make the headline seem very… just trying to make it seem like you’re going to shock the world and I said okay cool.”
APC chieftian Bola Tinubu’s son Seyi, wedded his beautiful bride Layal Holms in a civil ceremony held in Lake Como, Italy on Tuesday Aug.9. See the photos below;
At least three Nigerian athletes in the ongoing Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games created records of sorts that will be cherished in a longtime to come.
The trio with records are two table tennis stars, Segun Toriola and Aruna Quadri as well as Rower, Chierika Ukogu . The 41 year-old Toriola had his 7th appearance in the current Games, equaling the table tennis record. This has made him the most capped African Olympian.
Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri set another continental record after the 2014 ITTF star became the first African to reach the quarterfinals of men’s singles event at Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Ukogu on the other hand, qualified for top classification in the rowing event in Rio. She is Nigeria’s first ever rower in the Olympics to have got that far, placing fifth in the third quarter final of the Women’s single sculls after clocking a time of 7:54.44 secs.
She will now participate in the semi finals C/D 1 event on Wednesday. This is the 23-year-old’s first ever appearance in the Olympics.
Gunmen suspected to be cult members have invaded Abule Nla Road in the Iponri area of Lagos State, shooting at youths in a restaurant.
During the shootout, three persons were reportedly killed. The victims comprised a student of a polytechnic in Ogun State, Damilola Adegoke, and two of his friends, identified only as Kehinde and Junior, aka Hypo.
It was learnt that another friend, who sustained gunshot injuries on both legs, was recuperating in a private hospital in the area.
Punch Metro was told that the attackers, who reportedly came in a car, stormed the restaurant – Iya Illa Mini Mart – on Abule Nla Road by Vaughan Street at about 8pm on Sunday and opened fire on the drinkers.
It was learnt that 20-year-old Damilola died on the spot, while Kehinde and Junior, an auto mechanic, were rushed to a hospital where they were also confirmed dead.
It was gathered that policemen from the Iponri division came to the area to remove Damilola’s corpse and to examine the restaurant which had chairs smeared with blood.
The policemen, assisted by members of the Vigilantes Group of Nigeria, reportedly arrested two of the gunmen on Ilaje and Otumara streets in the area.
When our correspondent got to the area on Tuesday, a crowd of sympathisers gathered at the restaurant and Damilola’s house.
A member of the vigilance group, who identified himself only as Musibau, said the attack looked like a reprisal.
Musibau, who was an eyewitness, said, “There were five friends at the restaurant on that evening. The polytechnic student brought four of his friends to catch fun at the junction. Around 8pm, the gunmen came in a car and started shooting. The poly student and three other friends were hit.
“The policemen later came to remove Damilola’s corpse. But the families of the two other victims had earlier removed their corpses from the scene. I saw blood all over the place. One of the deceased was taken to his father’s place on Moore Street before the police arrived.
“The two other boys killed were said to belong to a gang called Kogbagidi boys. But Damilola, the poly student, was said to be easy-going. The attack looked like a cult reprisal. That restaurant is usually where the youths stay to drink and have fun. The vigilantes, together with the police, were able to arrest two suspects with guns in the Otumara area.”
Damilola’s father, Folorunsho Adegoke, said his son had come home from school to collect pocket money before he met untimely death.
He said, “Damilola came back on Friday. He came home to collect some pocket money. He was a student of the Moshood Abiola Polytehcnic, Ogun State. He and his friends were having fun at the restaurant when they shot him.
“The policemen were here on that evening. They said the attack was cult-related. I have put my comfort in God.”
A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Kehinde and Junior died at the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute -Meta, on Monday.
She said, “We thought violence had stopped in our area; we did not know those gangs were only regrouping. The other families did not release the corpses of their boys to the police. The families were afraid that the burial would be delayed. Three persons died in the attack.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the attack.
She said, “The police recorded one death. Preliminary investigation reveals that it is a cult reprisal. Investigation is ongoing, while effort is on to arrest the fleeing suspects.”
A Mum-of-three who fell pregnant by mistake doubled the size of her family after giving birth to triplets.
Vimla Patel, 32, from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, thought her family was complete with two sons and a daughter and was planning to start a new job as a care assistant.
But after she started to feel sick in the mornings she did a home test which revealed she was pregnant.
Vimla and partner Keith Monroe, 36, were then left stunned after scans revealed they had beaten odds of 200 million-to-one by conceiving identical triplet boys.
“We didn’t want to rule anything out so we went in for a scan to see what our options were,” Vimla recalled.
“When the nurse doing the scan left the room I felt a wave of relief wash over me at the thought it might all have been a big mistake.
“But then she came back in and said it was triplets. Keith was gobsmacked. He couldn’t talk.
“We knew immediately that we were going through with the pregnancy. We never really thought we could have a termination anyway.
“But knowing I was carrying three babies just confirmed it for us.”
This is an amazing story of an elderly couple with incredible faith and 63 years of marriage. As their health got worse, their faith and love for God, their family and each other grew stronger until the very end.
Henry and Jeanette De Lange to Platte got married in 1953 He was a Korean War Veteran. She was a musician, and took care of their five children.
It wasn’t until Sunday, July 31, 2016 when their children got a call from the Platte Care Center.
“They said both your mom and dad aren’t doing very well at all. Highly recommended that we get there as soon as we could,” son Lee De Lange said.
Lee’s mom, at 87 years-old, suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease and had been in nursing home care since 2011.
“Dad visited mom once a day, twice, or maybe three times a day. It was very sweet,” Lee said. “Wednesday or Thursday, she had stopped eating. She was dehydrated.”
Henry, at 86 years-old, was battling Prostate Cancer.
“The VA was doing as much as they could until about 7-8 weeks ago. Said there isn’t more they could do,” Lee explained.
After some recent falls, Henry’s condition worsened.
“He said, ‘I need to go to the nursing home’. They put mom and dad in the same room which was very sweet,” Lee said with a smile. “Wednesday, when we checked him in, he said ‘I don’t know how many more days I have Lee. How many more days the good Lord will have me here.”
That time got sweeter because Henry and Jeanette were back together. On that Sunday, two of their five children were with them as well knowing there wasn’t much time.
“[The doctor] said your dad’s pulse is worse. I wonder if he’ll go first,” Lee said. “About five minutes later, the aid said I think your mom will go very soon. It was 5:05 p.m. at that point.”
Not long after, at 5:10 p.m., she did.
“We read Psalm 103. We didn’t quite get done. She passed away very, very peacefully. Incredibly peacefully.”
“My brother Keith said to my dad, said ‘mom’s gone to heaven. You don’t have to fight anymore, you can go too if you want’. He was laying in bed. He, for the first time, opened his eyes, looked intently over where mom was. Closed his eyes back down. Laid back down, died about 5 or 10 minutes after that,”.Mom and dad were Christians. They loved Christ. They wanted so badly to show their love for Christ that they loved one another. It’s natural what they do. For them to be able to be a witness in life, also in death… That’s cool. Really cool.” Lee said
The clock on the wall said 5:30 p.m. when Henry went to heaven, twenty minutes after his beloved wife.
