The family of Olachi Manndarin Emmanuel, are completely inconsolable over the death of their daughter was passed away this week after a few days in coma.

A family member, Ben Eziefule, took to Facebook to narrate how Olachi met her husband in 2014, fell in love and got married in 2015.

Last year she got pregnant with their first child. During child birth, she developed complications around the waist that affected a bone in her body that caused minor paralysis and resulted in her being confined in a wheelchair.

Her husband who is a young rich Port Harcourt guy from Benue State, failed to care for her after she returned home with her injuries. He reportedly started beating and verbally abusing her at the slightest provocation.

Basically, the sight of her began to irritate him and when he became fed up, he packed her things and sent her back to her parents house.

A few weeks ago, Olachi’s condition deteriorated and she fell into a coma. Sadly, she never recovered – and passed away. Her burial ceremony took place today. Scroll down to see more photos plus what her cousin posted on FB.

“I bleed and talk out of anger tonight as I watch a small innocent girl ready to be committed to mother earth at 24 years tomorrow being Friday and her daughter will be 1year by next tomorrow being Saturday .

“To this wicked, devilish, stupid, heartless and a fool of a husband that took a girl of 22 years,married her and got her pregnant and returned her back sick to her parents and left her on a sick bed as a result of her breaking her waist during child birth, u will die like her. u are such an animal and a disappointment to humanity. U were not forced to marry her and what u used to pay her back for the love she showed to you and left every other suitor for you is to return her back and never set ur eyes on the innocent girl for close to a year, note even when she was in coma for weeks before death.

“U Mr. Benue man, u did dis cos she is not from Benue state and u work in the oil company in Port Harcourt and u have money, but let me without fear tell you that Vengance is coming cos God is ready to Avenge. U beat up the innocent girl even on clutches just for her to go, I ask when u married her, was she disabled? U abandoned an innocent girl that is not up to a year cos u want to have nothing to do with ur wife.

Above all u refused her to be buried in ur place, man I want to ask u, what on earth has this small girl done that can’t be corrected or resolved or settled or forgiven ? Why must u surfer her to die at this age? Finished university in 2014, served and married u in the same year 2015 and u wickedly killed her in 2016. Venngance is coming and God must Avange her death.

Pls verify ur facts correctly so that u wont misguide d public.D poster should declare his relationship with another man’s wife that makes him cry more than d bereaved rather than seeking political relevance through Rochas foundation and social media. I am a close family friend and couple neighbor in their ph residence.The truth needs to be told so that d public won’t be misguided and lay curses that might back fire on them. This guy lost his job close to a year ago and things became worse finacially.This guy was using his Honda as airport Taxi 2 support mother and child.It was a mutual agreement for her to go and stay temporally with her family when she could no longer cope with d financially situation,3 months ago.But d couple was still in contact with each other.This guy being accused was later recalled on a part time job on a Rig oil field, 3 weeks b4 d death of d wife. This made him unavoidably absent when d wife was bed ridden. However, he maintained steady call conversation with the wife.At least I saw d proof myself.D say oil Rig workers are rich but when u experience d agony of not being around with ur family when there is any medical emergency u will understand what I mean.During d wife’s illness, d last time he spoke with her she assured him that she was fine.Against all odds, this guy abandoned the Rig location when he could no longer hear any news about d wife.When he finally came to see d wife at her family house in Obinze,he discovered that she was taken to one prayer home at world bank.Could u believe that when this guy finally got there to take her for better medical attention, he was chased out by security men and d police becos he was accused of disturbing d peace of d prayer house. How can someone who has the teller to claim d corpse from mortuary not attend d burial? If so, how was her body recovered from d mortuary b4 d burial? The issue was that this Ben Eziefule of a guy has gone on social media spreading wrong information to youths and d community.The youths became angry on the false information they were given, threatened to kill d guy if d set eye on him. The family of d deceased on getting this info protected d deceased husband in their house so that he won’t be harassed by d angry mob. After d burial, it was d same family members that organized a special anti robbery squad that eventually sneaked d guy out of d community. It’s quite unfortunate that our society buy over any false story without confirming d authenticity. All these curses people have been pouring on social media on this guy.Will d take it back if eventually d were misled? I see the poster just wanted to take advantage of d misfortune by making himself politically relevant,when he is neither a relative,family friend or even from d same community with d deceased.There are many things people don’t know but I have to open up for justice and for people not to be misled. Are they aware the deceased died of a terminal disease which even d family was covering up from d husband?Are they aware that this guy has been jobless for close to a year? Are they aware that d deceased never visited the husbands home even when d husband made several attempts? Are they aware that family issues escalated when their financial situations became worse and the guy later discovered she was building a 7 bedroom apartment from d allowance he was giving her when the going was good, when they can hardly boast of land or house in ph? Are they aware that d deceased was also buried inside d house she was unable to finish as a youth copa?My direct conversations with d husband and proofs he showed me made me believe him. He might also have some bad behavior since no one is perfect but unfortunately the deceased is no more to say her own side of the story.So my questions are. If this guy abandoned d wife, why did he maintain phone conversations?Why did he abandon his work station to rescue his wife? Who took her to the hospital where she finally died?Which people was present when she died?Who paid d hospital bills? Who took her to mortuary?Who bought d casket? Who provided for d burial rites? Inside where was she buried?Why did d family members protect the husband from being beaten or killed?What is his relationship with d diseased?Only if d narrator can truly answer all these questions, then I can believe his claims. LAGOS – Nigeria’s Boko Haram Islamic extremists have a new leader who is threatening to bomb churches and kill Christians while ending attacks on mosques and markets used by ordinary Muslims, according to an interview published Wednesday by the Islamic State group.

He also says there is a Western plot to Christianize the region and has accused charities of using their aid for that, according to a SITE Intelligence Group translation of an interview published Wednesday in the Islamic State newspaper al-Nabaa.

The newspaper identified Abu Musab al-Barnawi as the new “Wali,” or governor, of its so-called West Africa Province. The “Wali” title was previously used to describe long-time Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau.

The report did not say what Shekau’s current status was, although there have been rumors for weeks that he had been replaced.

The interview with al-Barnawi indicates a major shift in strategy for the Nigerian extremists, who have killed many more Muslims than Christians in attacks in mosques with suicide bombers and gunmen.

There have also been attacks on crowded marketplaces in predominantly Muslim areas and the killings and kidnappings of schoolchildren. The targeting of students accounts for its nickname Boko Haram, which means Western education is sinful or forbidden.

“They strongly seek to Christianize the society. … They exploit the condition of those who are displaced under the raging war, providing them with food and shelter and then Christianizing their children,” SITE Intelligence quotes the new leader as saying.

Al-Barnawi says the militants will respond to that threat by “booby-trapping and blowing up every church that we are able to reach, and killing all of those (Christians) who we find from the citizens of the cross.”

Wednesday’s announcement indicates a coup by Boko Haram breakaway group Ansaru against Shekau, and follows a trend of extremist Islamic groups moving away from al-Qaida to the Islamic State, analyst Jacob Zenn said.

Ansaru broke away from Boko Haram because it disagrees with the indiscriminate killing of civilians, especially Muslims.

Al-Barnawi is the pseudonym of a Nigerian journalist allied with Ansaru, which is known for kidnapping foreigners, according to Zenn.

In March 2015, Shekau switched allegiance from al-Qaida and declared that Boko Haram be known as the Islamic State’s West Africa Province. At the time, Boko Haram was the most powerful military force in northeast Nigeria, controlling a huge area and was better equipped and motivated than Nigerian forces.

Under Shekau, the seven-year insurgency spread to neighboring countries, killed more than 20,000 people and drove more than 2.2 million from their homes, and created what aid workers are calling a catastrophic humanitarian emergency with children dying of starvation daily.

Boko Haram last week ambushed a humanitarian convoy, killing three civilians including a U.N. employee and causing the suspension of U.N. aid to newly liberated but still dangerous areas of Nigeria’s northeast.

Since last year, Nigeria has a new leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, a former military dictator who has better armed and motivated security forces. He is also fighting corruption that diverted $2.1 billion that was meant to buy weapons to fight the Islamic uprising, and is cooperating with a multinational force that has the extremists on the run.

In the interview, al-Barnawi said that under his leadership the militants will work to seize back territory. He said that increasing numbers of youth are joining the cause, though Nigeria’s military reports that hundreds of its fighters have surrendered as aerial bombardments and ground assaults cut supply routes.

A 58-year-old man, Joseph Onweji, has threw operatives of the Lagos State Police into bouts of laughter when he declared that committing suicide is not a child’s play, after he was saved by the security operatives as he attempted to jump into the Lagos Lagoon on July 24, 2016.

It was gathered that Onweji who said he had been ill for over 36 years with no solution, went to the Third Mainland Bridge, climbed on the railing and was about to jump into the water below when a passing Rapid Response Squad (RRS) police team stopped and rescued him.

Narrating the incident that pushed him into wanting to take his life, Onweji said:

“I have been sick for a long time. This illness started when I was just 22-years-old. It all started after I visited a house I was building in Ibadan.”

“Later that day, when I was taking my bath, I felt a burning sensation on my body. I felt really hot. I couldn’t sleep for days. Since that day, I have been feeling restless. I can’t even sleep.

I spent two months at a Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba. The doctors were unable to cure me of the illness.

On on July 24, 2016, I went to the Third Mainland Bridge. I was about to jump when RRS men saved me. For anyone to kill himself is not an easy task. If it is easy, I would have done so long ago.”

A landlord identified as Popoola Adepoju, hanged himself in Idi-Ose community, along Akan Road, in the Ona Ara council area of Ibadan.

The 48-year-old was reportedly found dangling from a rope tied to a ceiling fan in his room, with a three-page suicide note on the table. The widow of the father of three, who worked with the defunct National Electric Power Authority, reportedly found the corpse after she returned home on Tuesday.

She reportedly told the police that her husband left NEPA in Abeokuta two years ago but his entitlement had yet to be paid, adding that he had started a cement business on small scale before the incident.

Punch Metro reports that family members of the deceased refused to hand over the suicide note to the policemen who came to investigate the case. However, after the intervention of the Chairman of the Idi-Ose community, Taiwo Alimi, the note was taken to the Akanran Police Division.

The Divisional Police Officer at the station, Aliko Dankoli, was said to have later given permission to the family to proceed with his burial. He was laid to rest in his house.

Residents said Adepoju first sent his children on errands before taking his own life. A member of the Four Square Gospel Church, where the deceased worshipped with his family, said Adepoju attended Monday morning service in the church and never gave a sign of depression.

He said:

“Adepoju was a devout Christian, pious and talented. He was always offering useful suggestions whenever the welfare committee of the zone met. What could have informed this action is unclear. We were together at the early morning service at our church on Monday. We usually have such a service on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of every month. When I saw him last Monday after the evening service, he never gave any hint that he was contemplating suicide.”

A landlord in the area, who did not give his name, however, said the deceased was going through a difficult period. He explained that Adepoju had wanted to sell his Honda car for N250,000, but only got a buyer who was ready to pay N150,000.

He said the victim had planned to buy a smaller car to be used as taxi to supplement what he made from his small cement business.

“He said he wanted to sell the car so he could buy a small vehicle which he would be using as a cab to serve as a sustaining means of livelihood for his family. He, however, said the amount being offered was too small. He sometimes complained that things were no longer as they were before he was disengaged from work. It was a surprise when we discovered that this unfortunate incident happened,” said the neighbour.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed the death.
