22 year old Slumps and Dies, After Man Threatened Him

ksq

A 22-year-old fashion designer slumped and died on Sunday on Orobiyi Street, in Alagbado area of Lagos State.

According to Punch Metro, Community youths were said to have attacked one Taofeek Sodiq, who had a disagreement with the victim earlier that day.

The youths were about lynching the suspect when policemen from the Alagbado division rescued him.

Punch Metro gathered that the suspect had sent his son on an errand with N500. The 10-year-old was said to have been defrauded by a man who sat in the front of Shotunde’s locked shop.

The boy’s father reportedly accused Shotunde of colluding with the fraudster, insisting on getting back the N500. Sodiq, in the heat of argument, allegedly told the deceased, “You will not live to open your shop tomorrow, if my money is not returned.”

A resident, Owolabi Daod, explained that within three hours, the victim slumped and died.

He said, “Around 10am on Sunday, a man sat in the front of Lukmon’s shop. Another man, who lives in the community, sent his 10-year-old son on an errand with N500.

“But the man in the front of Lukmon’s shop called the boy and asked him to bring the N500 that he would double it for him. The boy foolishly gave him the money and the man absconded.

“A resident, who saw the boy sitting in front of the shop, asked him what he was waiting for. It was at that point the boy knew he had been scammed.” Daod said the boy’s father, upon learning the news, confronted Shotunde and accused him of colluding with the fraudster.

The 22-year-old, who denied the allegation, reportedly asked for a description of the fraudster. He was said to have called one of his friends who fitted the boy’s description; but the boy said he was not the one.

The boy’s father reportedly resorted to threats, insisting that he must recover the money.

“The man came out with a friend and said if he didn’t get his money back, Lukmon will not live to open his shop the next day. We thought it was all over.

“Lukmon was walking back to his shop when he suddenly collapsed. We rushed him to a private hospital where he was confirmed dead,” Daod added.

Punch Metro gathered that residents trooped to the suspect’s house and dragged him out. They were said to have beaten him and were about lynching him when the matter was reported at the police station.

“The police prevented jungle justice on Sunday. A police team had to stay in the community for more than six hours,” a source said. It was learnt that the victim’s father fought off efforts by the police to recover his corpse.

One of Shotunde’s friends, Ayeni Tosin, said he was buried at his father’s residence in Ijoko, Sango, around 11pm on Sunday, Tosin who described his friend as easy-going and gentle, said he was not sick prior to the incident.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said it was a case of sudden and unnatural death.

She said, “The victim’s father reported that the suspect threatened his son that he would not live to open his shop the next day. After three hours, the deceased slumped and died.

“A joint team of patrol vehicles moved to the scene to remove the body to suppress further tension, but the victim’s father resisted the action of the police on the ground that he wanted to bury his son according to Islamic rites. Investigation is ongoing.”

See What Seun Egbegbe Wrote About Toyin Aimakhu On The #SaveMayowa Saga

Images1-Toyin_Aimakhu_568727376

Now this is an idea of what a relationship with an ex should look like. I get so bitter when I see friends that were crazily in love turned to enemies after they break up. Relationships should not be like that.

Yes, some of us are not meant to be with each-other for eternity. But the fact that we have parted doesn’t mean that we should be staunch enemies. We can still meet in the future for any assistance from each other.

Toyin Aimakhu is a actually going through lots at the moment and am sure you are surprised that Seun Egbegbe is stepping in to defend her in her trying times. That’s a real man.

See what he wrote about her concerning the #SaveMayowa Issue on Instagram:

Good Evening friends and fans I hope you all are doing great. I wouldn’t want to jump into a sensitive issue which could affect the well being of myself and my fans, I want to use this medium to show my unflinching support to a friend, sister and a virtuous woman in person of Oluwatoyin Ahimaku.

Its a sad tale to know that our good deeds could lead us into problems by those who came crying for solace and at the end of it all get blamed by same people and their families. Toyin wouldn’t take sides with scammers and fraudulent perpetrators under no circumstances.

The truth has to be told, Toyin is above all these scandalous activities and I repeat she ll never have done this. My comment, views and ions on this issue was never influenced as I hope my fans ll better understand my point.#bestrongoluwatoyinahimaku

Age Gap Between You And Your Partner Will Decide How Long Your Relationship Will Last.

Beyonce with Jay Z in 2003

According to a recent study, there is a correlation between relationship age gaps and the longevity of said relationship. The study by Andrew Frances and Hugo Mialon from Emory University, Atlanta surveyed 3000 married participants.

Their findings showed the larger the age gap, the greater the chance the relationship will end, and this likelihood goes up incrementally.

So a gap of five years age gap means a couple are 18 per cent more likely to break up than age equals. This goes up to 39 per cent with a 10 year age gap, and 95 per cent with a 20 year gap.

According to the research, the most successful age gap is apparently no more than a year, for which there’s only a three per cent chance of going your separate ways.

I Stayed To Save My Marriage” – Woman Whose Hands Were Chopped Off By Her Husband For Not Conceiving

chopp-0

When Jackline Mwende sought advice on her bad marriage, she was given the same counsel many women in abusive relationships get: stay and fight for your marriage. The first pastor she went to for advice told her to stay and pray for her marriage.

Long before Ms Mwende’s hands were hacked off by her husband, Stephen Ngila, 34, for not conceiving, their seven-year marriage had been plagued with constant fights that stemmed from not having a child.

A hospital in Nairobi told the couple that Ms Mwende was fertile and healthy but her husband had reproductive “issues”. However, she believed in her marriage and had been advised by another pastor and some of her friends to stay and try to save it.

Pastor Patrick Kioko of Masii District SDA church, who was the couple’s best man on Monday told Nation Kenya that the marriage between Ms Mwende and Mr Ngila had been rosy at the beginning but things started changing towards the end of last year.

chopp-01

“It seemed there was hope for reconciliation but the man was not ready to mend the union. In fact, he even moved out and rented a room in Masii town.”

He said Mwende was afraid “to be seen as the one who broke her marriage”.
This was escalated to a church hearing because the issues seemed unresolved and the couple was urged to settle their differences and save their marriage.

“But we noticed the man was determined to leave. So it was agreed that they live in peace in their separate homes and ask the courts to dissolve the marriage. Because, as a church, we don’t end marriages.”

He said the church was planning to bring them together but then the attack happened.

“We were shocked how it turned out even after all the effort we put in. Anger is dangerous in a union and this is something we all should learn from.”

Ms Mwende met Mr Ngila, a tailor, shortly after finishing Standard Eight in Kathama Primary School, Machakos County, in 2010, and she says it was love at first sight. She described her husband as a “kind and God-fearing” man.

“He taught me how to make dresses and clothes. We fell in love during this time and we had a church wedding three months later,” she said. “But he gradually became violent and a drunk. He spent more time in Masii town and would come back late at night, drunk and violent. He also chewed miraa. When he attacked me on Sunday, he was drunk. But I stayed because I wanted to save the marriage and my home.”

Tears welled up in her mother’s eyes on hearing her daughter’s determination to save her marriage.

“I pleaded with her to pack her things and leave their home in Ilinge village because of the constant quarrels, but she said he would change. Then this happened,” Ms Jane Munyoki, the mother, lamented. “I gave him my daughter, who was complete and well, and now she does not have hands. I hope the government does not release him. I am afraid that if he is let go, I will die of depression.”

Meanwhile, Stephen Ngila has been charged with attempted murder of his wife. He appeared before Wamunyu Law Court Resident Magistrate K. Kibellion. He denied the charges and was sent to the Machakos GK remand until August 5. He was also denied bond until the same date when the court will rule on the issue.

More Clarity Surfaces in Mayowa Ahmed’s N85 million Fund Raiser Alleged Scam

As more confusion beclouds the public plea for $100, 000 made by the family of 28-year-old ovarian cancer patient, Mayowa Shukurat Ahmed, new authentic information are filtering out to clear the filthy dust raised by some media platforms about the fundraising campaign being a scam.

Three days after the #SaveMayowa fundraising campaign was launched, donations through her gofundme account and her Access Bank personal account went over the $100, 000 mark.

Here are other confirmations that has been made following further investigations:

  1. Toyin Aimahku’s claim that she showed the medical report to a doctor at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) was false as Mayowa’s medical report was not from LUTH
  2. Though the actress claimed in her audio interview with Ynaija that Mayowa was not actually admitted at LUTH and that it was just an arrangement by the family to deceive the public, the management of LUTH has released a statement that she was admitted as the family had been advised to stabilize her condition for travelling.
Further investigation clarified that Mayowa was not at LUTH for treatment of cancer, but to stabilize her condition before travelling abroad for the surgery.
  3. The impression that Toyin made that a particular Doctor said Mayowa’s health case was extreme and cannot be attended to was not completely true as a doctor at LUTH said that though her case is serious, if handled abroad there may be hope.
  4. There are indications that Aimakhu contacted Linda Ikeji who first made public the news that #SaveMayowa was a scam, a text message and a witness’ claim confirmed this.
  5. On Toyin Aimahku’s return to the hospital, she was not welcomed because she allegedly acted unruly to the disappointment of the authority.
  6. Aramide Kashamu, founder of Lifestake foundation claimed that the total money gathered was N85 million not N32 million .
  7. Because of Mayowa’s weak state, she was to be flown to Abu Dhabi rather than going to Emory as planned with emails and other evidence showing correspondence with Flying Doctors and NMC Abu Dhabi willing to accept Mayowa’s case.
  8. The Ahmed family are willing to get competent trustee(s) in order to restrict their access to the donated fund.
  9. Mayowa Ahmed’s family are willing to answer any questions related to the issue for the sake of clarifying questions that are being raised.

Mother of Rescued Chibok School Girl Fears For Her Future: “She Does Not Want To Remain a Muslim”

wmn

Amina Ali, a schoolgirl who was rescued after two years in Boko Haram captivity, may never be the girl she once was, her mother fears. Binta Ali was also worried her daughter was being pressured into following Islam.

Amina, one of more than 200 girls abducted from a school in Chibok in April 2014, and her four-month-old baby were rescued in May near Damboa in the remote northeast, by soldiers working together with a Civilian JTF.

After a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, in the hope she would shed light on the fate of the other kidnapped girls, Amina has since been held in a house in the capital Abuja for what the Nigerian government has called a “restoration process”.

Garba Shehu, Buhari’s spokesman, said that Amina’s confinement in the house had nothing to do with religion.

But her mother, Binta Ali, who has spent the last two months in the house, is concerned about Amina’s welfare and future.

“Before she was kidnapped, she wanted to further her education,” Binta told the Thomson Reuters Foundation from Chibok, having briefly returned there to seek medical treatment.

“But now she is afraid of schooling, and she wants to be close to me at home,” said Binta, adding that Amina wants a sewing machine so that she can start a business making clothes.

Binta said she was also worried that her daughter was being pressured into following Islam, having been forced to convert from Christianity to Islam by Boko Haram militants during her captivity.

“Amina herself does not want to remain a Muslim,” Binta said, explaining how an Islamic teacher had visited the house several times and told her daughter to maintain her new faith.

“She did not want to see him,” Binta said, adding that the teacher had stopped visiting after she complained about him.

Amina and the other girls, starving and with nothing to cook with, resorted to eating an entire bag of beans and maize raw.

“I cannot imagine how a human being can eat raw maize and beans like a goat,” Binta said.

Amina also told her mother how some of the kidnapped girls had died in captivity, while others suffered broken legs or went deaf after being too close to explosions. But she pleaded with her mother not to break the news to the families in Chibok.

“Other parents have been coming to visit me since I returned,” Binta said. “But I have not told them anything, even though I know some of those whose daughters have died.”

Despite her fears over Amina’s religion and education, and uncertainty over when she will be allowed to return home, Binta said she still had reason to be positive about her daughter.

“She used to be very afraid,” Binta said, explaining how Amina would talk to herself during the night prior to her kidnap.
“But now she sleeps soundly. She is no longer afraid.”

Actress, Steph-Nora Okere Speaks on Her Failed Marriage

Steph-Nora-Okere

Beautiful Nollywood actress, Steph Nora, recently sat down with City People, where she opened up on her failed marriage, career and challenges.

Recall she once had a relationship with Actor, Jim Iyke. They were one of the hottest “lovebirds” in Nollywood then but they later broke up.

She later got involved with her Yoruba Heartrob – Lanre Falana but her marriage with him did not last.

Read Excerpts:

Where have you been all this while?
I’ve been everywhere, at home, in church, at work, on the streets in fact, I’ve been around. I only reduced the number of films I feature in and concentrated more on soap operas.

What are you doing presently?
Right now, I’m shooting a new series, Broken Heart in Ibadan that is coming out soon. It is my latest work. I only left the set to come down here to receive my Award from City People because I value this Award so much.

What award did you win?
Special Recognition Award for my contribution to the Nigerian Entertainment industry, especially Nollywood.

How long have you been acting?
All my life. I started when I was in primary school although, I learnt acting from my mother’s womb (laughter) Yes, I’ll say I started from my mother’s womb because everybody came out in the 9th month but I came out on the 12th month. I started walking at the age of 6 months. So, I’ll say I started acting a long time ago.

You’re being seen as a tough lady?
Wow! I’m not tough, I’m just firm, there’s a difference between the two but some people will say you are tough if they cannot get you to compromise with them. If you really don’t understand where you are coming from, they will say you are tough. So, I am not tough but just being firm and being myself. I am firm in some areas as a lady.

You are ever looking young and beautiful, what is the secret of your beauty?
Yes, I am young, I take a lot of water and I detox my body and spirit of any negative thinking. I don’t let a negative thing stay in my mind. If anything comes on me, I let it go and I wash it off immediately. I don’t let anything disturb me in order to stay healthy, strong and may be young.

What has been the challenge so far?
What has been the challenge for me in the industry is that, It wasn’t easy when we started. We had to make people understand that acting is a noble profession I just came out from the university after my 4 years when I went into full time acting.

I had to go to my family to explain to them about my new profession because as far as my Dad was concerned, It was a joke. And in 1995 when I joined the industry, the platform was not as it is today for people to leverage on. I was also the vice president, screen writer’s Guild of Nigeria for 4 years in which I helped build the industry.

So, it’s been from one challenge to another. But I’m happy today that we set the platform for others to come in. Take a look at what is happening today in the media.

Is Steph now married?
No! I am very single.

But you were once married?
Not at all, the press got me married. The press got me married on papers. Let me explain it, let me say I was in the process of getting married but ended up not getting married.

Where I come from, there is the process of marriage when you start the process, the Ibo people will go and make research on the other person’s background and If they find out negative things about the man or woman’s family, that means they will put an immediate stop to the marriage. That was what happened in my own case.

A lot of people have been saying I was married, I was married but we didn’t really get through our marriage. I think that is like in the past, which is like 10 years ago. I really wish to forget about it.

Who is your kind of man?
God fearing and honest man.

Is there any man in your life now?
Jesus is the man in my life now I am married to Jesus..
As beautiful as you are, you should have someone.
I have a lot of admirers, those that are close to me but the most important person in my life now is Jesus.

But you are known to be married to Lanre Falana?

I was never married but the Press got me married as I said. I was involved in a marriage process which got truncated along the line. Marriage begins with paying the woman’s dowry, traditional and white wedding. All these did not take place. My family didn’t support marrying a man who kept one woman in one place and plans keeping another one in another place. I attend Catholic church and the marriage process in Catholic, begins with the intended couples tendering a marriage certificate issued by a court to the church. This was the main reason we were in court in the first place.

What really led to the break-up?
It was based on personal conduct and irreconcilable differences. We were not living together, we had an. Introduction where his family and mine were introduced to each other only. This was the beginning of our problem. For us to discover that we were not compatible. Our court marriage was in July and he went abroad in September only for him to be back a year and half later.

Would you accept him if he comes back begging?
Thank God that the marriage didn’t work out otherwise I would have been an unhappy woman and I have learnt not to judge a book by its cover.
I hope to marry again when a good man comes but for now I am married to Jesus.

How many movies have you done so far?
So far I have featured in over 100 movies, grabbed lead and supporting roles both in the English and Yoruba language movie.

Who is Steph Nora Okere?
Steph Nora Okere is an actress who is from Ngor-Okpala, Owerri in Imo state. I grew up in Lagos and attended St Paul’s School, Ebute Metta and later to Jubril Martins Memorial School but completed her secondary school in Akwakuma Secondary School, Owerri.

Was it cultural differences that led to the break-up?
Not at all. It was based on personal conduct and irreconcilable differences. We were not living together. We had the court marriage in July and he went abroad September. Only for him to come back like a year and half later.

Any plans of marrying again?
It has not been easy. You hardly can differentiate between a man who truly wants you as a woman because he feels for you, or one who wants to be seen with a known actress. Some men can go as far as taking a bet over you because you are a known actress. But when a good man comes around, I will settle with him. However, my Bible has not told me I can not make heaven as a single woman.

Pastor Adeboye Frowns at Pastors who Grow Beards as He Dishes Out Marriage Advice

Pastor-E.-Adeboye-600x400

According to a report on Vanguard, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has taken a very dim view of pastors who try to follow fashion trends and grow their beards.

He said:

“I don’t want to see any of my pastors looking like fellows from the training camps of Al-Qaeda.”

He said older people who try to go along with the times rather than set an example for the younger ones cannot command their respect.

He said:

“They often look up to their fathers for direction but if a father himself does not know what he is doing then there something wrong.

“The youths don’t respect an elder that looks like them. You are supposed to be their guiding light after they have fooled around.”

He also spoke on the issue of pastors who try to import tribalism into the church and impose Yoruba songs on the congregation.

He said such people should leave the church or die like Annanias and Sapphira while emphasising the need for pastors in other parts of the country to encourage the locals to sing and rejoice in their local dialects.

Pastor Adeboye who seems worried at reports of disruption arising from arranged marriages decreed that no RCCG pastor should be seen to be involved in arranging marriages among brethren in the church.

It will be recalled that Pastor Adeboye had earlier counselled youths of the church on marriage, saying “don’t ever marry outside the church and you have no reason to marry outside RCCG. The reason is that if you are both from the same church even when trouble comes it is easier for the pastors to handle it!

“Don’t marry a girl simply because she can sing! In the choir there are some people that can sing but they are fallen angels! Marry a prayer warrior! If a girl cannot pray for one hour, don’t marry her.

“Don’t marry a girl who is lazy! Don’t marry a girl who cannot cook, she needs to know how to do chores and cook because you cannot afford to be eating out all the time.

“Don’t marry a girl who is worldly! If you do, you have carried what you’ll worship for the rest of your life!” he advised.

The 74-year General Overseer also enjoined all pastors in the church to regularly do a medical check up to avoid unnecessary and sudden deaths that can be avoided with proper care.

Family of 3 Disgraced After Caught Stealing Pot of Ogbono Soup in Abuja

ogbono-soup

This present economic state of the country is getting worse by the day and making people do the unthinkable.

It was a show of shame as a man and his two children were nabbed after they allegedly stole a pot of ‘Ogbono’ soup which one of their neighbours was cooking in the Mpapae area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident which happened along Mashafa road in the area, threw everyone in shock after the owner of the stolen soup identified only as Femi, was stunned to find out that the steaming pot of soup he had left on the fire had gone missing after he stepped into his house to get some salt.

He decided to go round some of his neighbour’s apartments to see if anyone of them had seen who took his soup, only to find the man and his children eating the Ogbobo soup.

Narrating what he saw, Femi said he was too stunned to say a word at first but watched as the family ate the soup with ‘fufu’they must have brought along with them.

“I was cooking in the compound and went into the room to get salt; that was when they took the pot of soup and before I could ask, they were already eating the soup with their akpu.

I was even touched after the father apologised, saying they were hungry and had nothing to eat.”

“I had no choice than to leave them with it, but they should not have taken everything. The thing pained me seriously because I am also managing and had to look for the money for that soup and they just took everything.

I only told them to return the pot after they had helped themselves with its content.”

This Girl’s Tongue is So Long, She Can Touch Her Nose with It

Long-Tongue-0

Meet the 19-year-old lady with probably the longest female tongue in the world.

According to Dailymail, Adrianne Lewis, from Michigan, says her tongue is an unbelievable four inches long, giving her the unique ability to not only lick her nose, chin and elbow but also – shockingly – her eye.

Her long reptile-like tongue has gained her global recognition. But, she might one day enter the Guinness World Records as having the longest tongue in the world.

The current record holder Nick Stoeberl, whose tongue reaches just 3.9 inches is yet to find a worthy challenger.

Long-Tongue-01

Adrianne said: ‘I feel as though I may have inherited it but I think with time and me sticking out my tongue a lot as a kid could have stretched it.

‘My mum, grandmother and my great grandfather all had very long tongues.”

Most people are unable to touch their noses with their tongues, but that trick is child’s play for Gerkary Bracho. Her tongue is long enough to touch her elbow, ear and eyelids.
