A 25-year-old Kenyan man from the Kirinyaga County, Leonard Kimotho, caused a stir in his community when he chopped off his own penis on January 1, 2016, (New Year’s day), in protest for being turned down by the women he was trying to date, reports Tuko.co.ke.
Kimotho, who is said to find it difficult to get a woman for himself, decided to take that drastic step since he believed his manhood was useless to him and as such, should be blamed for his inability to get a woman.
So while others including his friends and family were celebrating the beginning of another year, Kimotho used a sharp knife to cut off his weapon.
His parents quickly summoned a local chief, Emmaculate Njoka, to assess the damage that their son had caused to himself and the distress he had brought them.
“A family from Kiorugari called and informed me their son had chopped off his manhood. They say after secretly performing the act on himself, he rushed out of the house while bleeding profusely.
They carried him and his severed manhood in a polythene bag to hospital. Upon reaching the facility, doctors advised the family to take the victim to Kerugoya Level 4 Hospital since his condition was severe.
The doctors at Kerugoya Level 4 Hospital have said they will try their best to reattach the manhood,” Njoka said.
It is reported that Kimotho, a bachelor, had hoped to be in a relationship but all his efforts to get a girlfriend could not bear fruit, hence his resolve that his manhood was useless if there was no woman who was interested in him.

Our initial reaction was to maintain the ceasefire but this latest attack against a defenceless lady who merely asked that she be allowed to enjoy the fruit of motherhood was the limit of recklessness and rascality.

It has since been settled and everyone seems to have moved on after both parties took to their social media pages to release a joint statement.
According to a report by Lailasblog, she reveals she exclusively has information on how they were both reconciliated by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.

I’m told that the picture we all saw of Olamide & Don Jazzy shaking hands was taken at Aliko’s place. Aliko Dangote stepped in for there to be peace. Rising pop sensation, Kiss Daniel has announced plans to release his first ever album this year, 2016. He has been doing really great since he came with his smashing Single “WoJu”, his album is definitely anticipated.
Kiss Daniel, who lost out of the controversial Next Rated category at the 10th edition of the Headies, wrote an open letter earlier today where he made the announcement.
In his words, ‘This year 2016 is going to be bigger and better; my debut album drops this year, and with the work put into it by myself, my team, and that of the artistes magnanimous enough to feature on it, I am positive that this will be the year’
The Headies organisers are definitely not happy with the events that unfolded at its 2015 edition which held on the 1st of January, 2016.

We are proud of what we have achieved over the years. The Headies stage has birthed the careers of many artistes who are of A-list status today.
We are also glad that we have reinstated pride and prestige into the winning of a locally organised music awards and, we have celebrated artistic ingenuity for 10 straight years; a feat no other group before us was able to achieve.
Every year, the screening team collate all creative materials released in the year in review and screen for nomination. This tedious process goes on for at least three months before the screening team comes out with a final list.
The voting categories, such as ‘Song Of The Year’, ‘Artist Of The Year’, & ‘Next-Rated’ are left strictly for fans to vote and choose the winners. We wish to say categorically that we do not tamper with the outcome of the voting process.
The limit of our involvement in this voting process is to advice the nominees to engage their fans and solicit for their votes. We do not accept any responsibility for failure on the part of the nominees or their record label, when they fail to do this.
Unfortunately, most times, Voting, Year In Review and Definitions Of Each Category, are generally taken for granted by many artists.
We can also attest to, and hereby state categorically that, there is no evidence that any of the artistes aggrieved and vocal about their displeasure to the turnout of the award, voted in the ‘Next-Rated’ category, as our voting process captures email addresses and phone numbers.

The emir of hunters in the state Mai-Gana Mai-Durma while addressing the media in Maiduguri said they are very familiar with the terrain of the much dreaded forest and so should be allowed to go in and fight the terrorist.
“We are appealing to the military authorities to allow us join the fight against Boko Haram at the Sambisa forest.
We are ready to pursue the terrorists because we know the terrain very well. We will overrun Sambisa in partnership with members of the civilian JTF if given the opportunity.
This will help to complement the effort of military in the anti terrorism operation. Hunters from all the 27 Borno LGAs are all in Maiduguri with our leaders doing nothing at present because of Boko Haram.
Rather than idling away, we will want to assist the military in crushing Boko Haram terrorists.” he said

Maribel Valencia, 22 gave birth to Jaelyn Valenica at 11.59pm on New Year’s Eve, and gave birth to her twin brother, Luis Valencia Jr, two minutes later, which means he arrived on New Year’s Day.
Jaelyn was the last baby born in San Diego County in 2015 and her brother the first baby born in the county in 2016.
The children’s father, Luis Valencia, told NBC-affiliate KNSD:
“We were actually watching the clock, we wanted to see if we were one of the first ones. Maribel really wanted to have the babies on the same birthday, because you know later on in the years, they’re going to have a little confrontation and be like, ‘my birthday came first,’ so it means two birthday parties, back to back.”
Maribel works as a cashier at the San Diego International Airport, while Valencia is a diesel mechanic for the Navy, KNSD reported.
The couple’s new set of twin will join their older sister, 3-year-old Isabella.
The births occurred at the San Diego Kaiser Permanente Zion Medical Center, according to ABC News. The Hospital spokeswoman, Jennifer Dailard said that Jaelyn weighed 4 pounds, 15 ounces and her brother Luis weighed 5 pounds, 9 ounces. Both infants, who had not been expected to arrive until later this month, and their mother were reported to be doing well.

Yesterday, a Facebook user shared the story of a pregnant young woman who was stranded at the Iji Nike Cottage Hospital in Enugu because there was no medical personnel present to attend to her.
As she crowned, her husband ran into the street, calling for help. Luckily, he met kind people, one of whom was a doctor.
She set up a makeshift emergency room in the tricycle that brought in the pregnant woman and delivered her of her baby boy.

In less than 5 minutes a mobile hospital was set setup in the “keke” that brought in the woman. To the glory of God, my wife who is a doctor, delivered the woman of a bouncing baby boy at 6:30pm 01/01/2016. My sisters in-law turned nurses instantly and the torchlight in my phone provided the lighting. Thank you Lord.”
