Racing our history as Africans, Agbadas were only worn by our rulers, chiefs and anybody in a powerful position. During those times, you cannot just wear Agbada to a function,it was left for the rich and the royal family.

church, weddings, events and even shows.
There is a feeling of authority, confidence and power on a man wearing this traditional wear. As Africans, Nigerians especially, the Agbada is a trademark, its a way of differentiating the rich and classy man from others.

Ghanaian actress and movie producer, Yvonne Nelson, have come out to reveal that the movie, ‘Beast of No Nation‘ does not qualify for a nomination at the Ghana Movie Awards.
The actress told Ghana’s KMJ on Hitz FM that the movie does not qualify for a nomination because it is not a Ghanaian production.
‘It’s not fair to all of us if they submit that movie because it is not a Ghanaian production. The fact that it was shot in Ghana doesn’t make it a Ghanaian production. So I won’t agree to that. If we are trying to promote our own, why will we go for a foreign production?’ ‘You cannot compare a Hollywood production to a Ghanaian movie. The budgets are totally different,’ she stated.
The movie, which features Hollywood actor, Idris Elba and Ghana’s Abraham Attah, has been submitted for the 2015 Ghana Movie Awards which is scheduled to hold on December 30.

Speaking on the alleged trend, where artistes pay producers to feature in a movie, John said, “One word for it; stupid! I don’t think you want me to start to explain how stupid it is. It is outright, blatantly stupid. It is a stupid idea. And that is why I don’t relate with such kind of persons.”
On his plans to get married, he said, “Ha, they have snatched me o; in fact, my life has not been the same since I’ve been snatched. This life that I’m living is not my own, madam will soon call right now and ask, why haven’t you called me? So I will be walking her down the aisle very soon, all things being equal, it should happen soon,” John added.

5 Types of Soccer Fans you will Find at Viewing Centres
Fans are the ones who make football interesting to watch. Imagine an empty stadium without fans! Boring, right.
Their noise, boos and shenanigans create a fever pitch and energetic atmosphere such that viewers never have a dull moment all through the game.
In Lagos, there are viewing centres in nearly all the nooks and crannies of the city. And at the weekend, fans troop to these centres to watch their favourite teams, especially those playing in Europe playing the game of soccer.
At these various centres, you are likely to find all kinds of football fans and Jovago.com, identifies five of these.
The passionate fan
The passionate fan is more like the die-hard aficionado. He does not miss any of the games played by his team. Their mood is very predictable: happy when their team is winning and sad whenever they lose. This fan can only be approached when his team is victorious.
The Bad belle fan
The primary mission of this type of fan is to taunt other fans. They are experts in bad mouthing everything about the teams or coaches that they utterly dislike to the annoyance of other fans. You find them at all viewing centres.
The football Professors
These are the football encyclopaedias. They are the ‘google’ of their favourite teams. For example, if they support Arsenal, they can tell you everything about the club from the number of trophies won, to set records and many other relevant statistics that an average fan would not know. You don’t want to argue with this type fan because they are very opinionated. They believe that their statistics will win them any argument in soccer.
The betting fan
Sports betting is the trend now. There are many betting companies in Lagos today where you can place a bet on different games daily. The betting fan is always at the edge of his seat as he follows the live score of the different teams he placed his bet on. They have little or no passion for the game but are just concerned about the bets so that can win some cash.
The Neutral fan
They are neither passive nor active, they just love watching and enjoying good football. If they are asked the team they support, the response is “I support any winning team’!They just love soccer!

So, there were reports last week about How Davido was going to become a Baby Daddy with another woman, a Tanzanian Socialite Agnes Masogange.
Apparently, what fueled the rumour was when Agnes Posted on Her Instagram an image of Davido’s HKN Chain with the Caption “I Miss Him”, then few minutes later posted her pregnancy kit picture which read positive.
Davido however stylishly debunked the reports few days ago..
..and then yesterday, took to Twitter to rant a little about how Agnes kept calling him back to back to put an end to the rumor as the rumors from Nigeria has left her relationship with her fiance in confusion.
TBH I DONT CARE ABOUT WHAT BLOGS WRITE TRUE OR FAKE BUT WHEN SOMEONE IS CALLING ME BACK TO BACK ALL THE WAY FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY CRYING
There is nothing better than appreciating a woman’s beauty to keep her in constant bliss.
However, most men do not understand how important it is for a woman to feel beautiful.
By using these five strategies, she will begin to understand that, even though she may look nothing like a runway model, you still think she is the hottest and most beautiful woman in the world.
1. Compliment her inner beauty as well as her outer beauty
If you want to make her feel beautiful, do not forget to mention the parts of her character that makes her a beautiful person. Beauty isn’t skin deep, and a truly pretty face must have a beautiful soul too.
So, when she shows off one of her great skills, whatever it may be, recognize it to make her feel like a beautiful person, inside and out.
2. Make sure she catches you looking at her
If you can’t help staring at your woman and getting lost in her eyes, it just shows her how truly beautiful she is to you.
So, make eye contact with her across the room, then give her a special smile that’s reserved just for her. It will make her heart beat a little faster.
Lol. Someone said Chris Brown wouldn’t like this at all… Yeah well, what can he do?
Hollywood celebrity, Karrueche Tran is pictured here sharing a warm hug with Drake‘s father at an event..It’s unknown if they met at an or have known each other before now.
It should be recalled that Chris once accused Drake of trying to creep with Karueche when they were dating.
In line with the claims by the former minister of Finance (state) that he gave N600million to the former Deputy National Chairman of Peoples Demcoratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George and 5 other members of the Contact and Mobilization Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2015 general election, the former has denied collecting N100 million from Mr Bashir Yuguda.
The PDP leader, in a statement said:
“My attention has been drawn to another mischievous and deliberately fraudulent claim that I collected N100 million from Bashir Yuguda, the former Minister of State for Finance. This is another blatant falsehood, stripped of any iota of truth.
This is yet again a depraved continuation of lynch mob journalism orchestrated by an online newspaper.” The salient fact is that very early this year, long before the election period, the party set up Contact and Mobilization Commttee for each zone to reconcile various factions and ensure a firm unity of purpose within the zones before the election. I was elected as the Chairman for the South-West zone.
“The committee which was made up of 18 senior members of the party with distinguished history of honour and exemplary leadership, met at least 10 times in my office in Lagos. These people travelled all the way from every corner of the South-West, with three members representing each state.
All of them are very much alive to testify to my assertions. Sometime in the middle of these deliberations, Yuguda came to me and said the party was reimbursing the 18 elders of the committee for their transportation, accommodation and feeding allowance for the work that was done.
“The committee later submitted the report of its deliberations to the party and then wound up. For all these efforts Yuguda gave the committee only $30,000. That was less than N6 million at that time. Yuguda can never claim that he gave the Committee N100 million. That is the figment of the imagination of rascally scribblers purporting to be journalists. Again, facts are sacred.”
Pop star and reality TV star, Justin Bieber and Kourtney Kardashian are alleged to be hooking up as part of an ongoing casual relationship.
According to Gossip Cop, the pair had a rendezvous at The Nice Guy eatery in the West Hollywood area of Los Angeles on Friday, where they were both photographed.
“From there, they and a group of others went to a karaoke club called Blind Dragon. Kardashian left the karaoke joint well before Bieber, but that was not the end of their night. At some point, Kardashian headed over to the Montage Beverly Hills hotel, where Bieber often stays. She was later photographed leaving the hotel at 4 a.m.”
The site claims this, however, isn’t Kardashian’s first hook up with Bieber. Back on October 10, the two also had dinner at The Nice Guy.
They later took an Instagram picture of themselves in 3D glasses at Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” before spending time together later that night.
In line with the deadly clashes between the Nigerian military and Shiite Muslims in Zaria, Sayyid, one of the sons of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheik Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, the sect’s deputy leader, Sheikh Turi Mohammed; his wife, Zeenat; as well as the spokesperson for the movement, Ibrahim Usman, Dr. Mustapha Sa’eed and Sister Jummai Gilima, were killed by the Nigerian troops.
This was confirmed by the Shite movement.
The deadly clashes erupted between the military and Shiite Muslims in Zaria, Kaduna state on Sunday after armed soldiers carried out crackdowns on the pro-Iranian Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) following an incident on Saturday involving the convoy of the chief of army staff.
On Saturday, Shiite faithful blocked the main road outside their Husseiniyya religious centre, where hundreds had gathered for a ceremony.
The crowds obstructed traffic, including the convoy of Nigeria army chief Tukur Yusuf Buratai, witnesses and the military said.
The army said IMN members, who set barricades and bonfires on the road, were armed with “dangerous weapons” in a “deliberate attempt to assassinate the chief of army staff and members of his entourage”.
The IMN, which seeks to establish an Islamic state through an Iranian-styled revolution, has been at loggerheads with Nigeria’s secular authorities, leading to occasionally violent confrontations.
The group’s leader, Ibrahim Zakzaky, has periodically been incarcerated for alleged incitement and subversion.
In its account of the violent confrontation between it and the military, the sect, in a statement by its spokesman, Ibrahim Musa said:
“Following alleged blockade of the route of the Chief of Army Staff by the members of the Movement, the Nigerian Army brutally descended on armless members of the Movement with heavy military weapons killing indiscriminately.
“In the mean time, leading members of the Islamic Movement and other members as well, have been killed by the soldiers including the leader of the Kano Center, Sheikh Muhammad Turi, Dr. Mustapha Sa’eed, Malam Ibrahim Usman and Sister Jummai Gilima.
“Also killed were Sayyid Aliy, the son of the leader of the Movement, Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky; the wife of Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky, Malama Zeenat Ibraheem and tens of other members as more are being killed as at the time of this release.
“The sporadic killings took place at three locations that included the residence of the revered leader of the Movement at Gyallesu, the Husainiyya Bakiyatullah at the GRA and the Darur Rahma located along Zaria-Jos road where many unarmed people were killed.
“The killing was so brutal at Gyallesu that even those injured in the shooting were identified and killed in cold blood by the soldiers.
And as at the time of writing this press release, the victims are in their hundreds, if not thousands. “Considering the gross violation of fundamental human rights and extra-judicial killings perpetrated by the Nigerian Army, the Islamic Movement hereby condemns these unjustifiable acts.
“We state categorically that the claim by the Army that members of the Movement attempted to assassinate the Chief of Army Staff was a blatant lie as the army came back to launch their attack more than an hour after the COAS had passed.
“Clearly, the Nigerian government through its military is now on rampage in an all out war with the Islamic movement, its members and structures.
The scale of this attack would suggest it was meticulously planned by authorities and now being executed ruthlessly. The alleged attack on COAS Burutai was just an alibi.
“Therefore, with all pointers at the government as the contractor of the killings, we hereby call on well meaning Nigerians and the international community to intervene and seek redress for the victims and their family members as many innocent people have unjustifiably been killed and many others severely injured.
“In the mean time, there is no idea as to the where about of the leader of the Movement, Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky nor his current condition, and aggrieved members of the Movement across the country have taken to the streets in protests”.
A quite aged grandmother admitted in court on Monday that she attempted to smuggle drugs hidden in her vagina and bra into a maximum-security prison during a visit to her son.
Linda Ethal Sheridan smuggled drugs into a prison while visiting her son with her 10 year old granddaughter. She was supposed to have a three day visit with her incarcerated son.
Both Sheridan and her granddaughter were searched by a drug sniffing dog upon entry. The dog detected the drugs on Sheridan, this is according to National Post.
Sheridan was escorted to the ladies room where she removed the three packages containing methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana. She thought that she could get away with concealing the drugs in cellophane and condoms but that ended up being an epic fail.
Sheridan was arrested and later taken to Edmonton Police Service headquarters for a further search. In her bra, investigators found nicotine patches, cigarettes and hydromorphone, an opiate.
“I wish I hadn’t been talked into this. It was a stupid move and I should’ve known better.”she told correctional officers.
Brandy Swenson, a correctional officer and dog handler testified
To me, she seemed embarrassed that this happened and we caught her,”“She wasn’t upset, there was no crying. She really wanted to remove the stuff from her body cavity.”
Sheridan is facing up to four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. She has admitted to her attempt to smuggle the drugs which would have been worth $12,230 inside the Edmonton Institution.
Drugs often have an inflated value inside the prison system. Sheridan admitted she brought the drugs specifically for her incarcerated son. Her son serving time for breaking into a home however denied he asked her to.
Competition for jobs out there is tough, and we’re all guilty of telling a few fibs on our CV.
We’ve all embellished the truth just a little, so we can make ourselves seem more impressive and skilled than we actually are.
Have you ever stated that you’re a whiz at Excel, or you speak foreign languages, and enjoy team work, when quite clearly none of these things actually apply to you?
Well, good luck when you actually have to demonstrate these things to your boss.
1. EXCELLENT KNOWLEDGE OF MICROSOFT EXCEL
We all lie about this. Sure you’ve made a few pie charts and simple graphs here and there, so you are confident in stating that you have an excellent knowledge of Excel.
Best hope that your manager never asks you to create a dynamic range or whip up a pivot table. Excessive sweating will follow these requests.
2. I WORK WELL UNDER PRESSURE
One of the most common lies out there. You’re the type of person that has a panic if the waiter comes over too quickly to take your order and you have to make a snap decision quickly.
You do not handle stress well at all, which means that when things get a bit hairy you’ll be taking refuge under your desk swigging from an emergency hip flask.
Former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki decried being prosecuted, stating that he was only acting on the instructions of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
On his latest N10billion handout, he said he handed over the N10billion given to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nomination convention delegates to the former President’s Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs, Waripamowei Dudafa and the Aide-de-Camp.
He said the money was given out by the two aides, on the directive of Dr. Jonathan. The former NSA said aside collecting the cash, he had nothing to do with it.
He said he had no foreign account and his local accounts are in Skye bank Plc, GTB and Standard Chartered Bank. Dasuki’s Statement of Witness/Accused Person has been filed in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of his arraignment today or tomorrow.
Also yesterday, it was gathered that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) confirmed that the N10 billion was sourced from the Signature Bonus Account (oil block Account).
But the ex-NSA expressed regrets that he was being vilified by the EFCC when he acted on the instructions and approval of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
He said:
“I wish to state as follows: That I have been publicly indicted and any statement may jeopardise my defence. Having been briefed by the EFCC investigators on why I was invited, I will answer the charges in court. As such, I do not wish to make any further statement on the matter.
“That I am aware in November (I cannot remember the exact date), my office requested the CBN to exchange N10billion from the account of the Office of National Security Adviser domiciled in CBN. The money was exchanged at $47m and some Euros which I cannot remember. The exact amount was delivered at my residence.
“The money was for delegates that attended the nomination convention for the PDP. Presidential nomination. The money was paid and sent to Hon. (Waripamowei) Dudafa (SSAP Household) and ADC(C-IC) for distribution on the instruction of the President.
Based on the statement of Director of Finance and administration (Salisu), Ibrahim Wambai, and Yazidu Ibrahim, all the cash (both foreign and local) are usually given to them for official use.
I also noted the statement of Sagir Bafarawa whose company is Dalhatu Investment which he stated that he received the sum of N4,633,000,000 from the account of the Office of the NSA. I authorised the payment . The money was for vehicles, motorcycles for youth empowerment and women sent to Saudi Arabia. I got the proposal from the President. I do not have the proposal; it should be at the office in the Villa
“I have seen the statement of the Zenith Bank account where N5billion was paid. I authorised the following payments, among others: Jabbama Ada Global Nigeria Limited (N400m); R.R. Hospital (N750m); ACACIA Holdings LTD (N1.25b); Barr. I.M. Bala (N150m); African Cable TV (N 350m); Nigerian Defence Academy (N159m); B.B. (N350m); Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (N125,503, 255.11); Coscharis Motors (N119m).
“The payments were meant for various partners as earlier listed. I know Basha Nigeria Limited to be owned by Hon. Bello Matawalle. I authorized the payment of N380million for further disbursement to members of the House of Representatives as campaign contribution. I authorized the payment of N751million to HEIRS BDC Limited for conversion to forex from the account of the NSA. Money was used for operation in the Office of the NSA.
“I have seen the mandate from the CBN signed by me authorizing payment of various sums of money to Dalhatu Investment for the reasons earlier stated.
“In respect of funds given to Amb. Bashir Yuguda between December 2014 and 2015, I authorised the payment of N1.5billion from the Office of the National Security Adviser for political campaign in the last elections. I remember paying DAAR Communications the sum of N2.120billion from ONSA for media activities for the Presidential Campaign 2015.”
The ex-NSA added:
“I do not have any company registered in my name, I have no account with HSBC. All payments made from NSA accounts within the period I was there were authorised by me.”
The CBN confirmed that the N10billion was sourced from the CBN/ OAGF Signature Bonus Account.

Federal Government of the country has blamed the poor state of the country’s economy, especially the depreciation in the Naira exchange rate, to the mindless looting of the national treasury under the immediate past Administration, rather than any so-called mismanagement by the Buhari Administration.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said in a statement on Sunday:
”If there was still any honour left among thieves, there is no way the leaders of a party under whose watch the nation’s economy suffered a monumental mismanagement and the Central Bank was turned to the ATM or piggy bank of a few people will have the temerity to insult a government that is working hard to turn things around or the citizens who are bearing the brunt of such mismanagement,”
”It is now clear to all Nigerians that if the PDP had won the last general elections, Nigeria’s economy would not have survived one more month, considering the battering it received under the immediate past Administration. It is therefore unconscionable that those who should show contrition and hunker down to avoid public opprobrium are the same ones pointing an accusing finger at the Buhari Administration,” he said.
”Senator Ekweremadu complained about the depreciation of the Naira without telling Nigerians who ‘dollarized’ the Nigerian economy by bribing many individuals and groups with dollars during the last elections, thus inflicting a knock-out punch on the local currency. He also failed to tell Nigerians which government presided over the frenzied mop-up of dollars, either for ‘armsgate’or for slush fund purposes, from the CBN to a point where it almost ran out of the hard currency,”
”The outcome of the months of hard work will manifest soon in the 2016 national budget that will give succour to millions of Nigerians who are reeling from fallout of the solecism of the immediate past Administration that turned the country into a cash bazaar,”
”They are lucky that Nigerians are not as incautious as they are, otherwise they would not be able to walk around freely, not to talk of having the effrontery to fire darts at the government that inherited their rot or the people who are suffering the consequences.
”They looted the billions of Naira that were allocated for the fight against insurgency, causing many innocent and patriotic soldiers to die needlessly, yet they are not remorseful. They looted
the treasury to influence the last elections, doling out money as if it was going out of fashion, yet they continue to grandstand.
”In the latest revelation, a Minister under the immediate past dispensation admitted to sharing 600 million Naira to six Chairmen of the Contact and Mobilization Committee of the PDP for the last general elections, 300 million Naira to an account given by a former PDP chairman, 200 million Naira to a PDP governorship candidate and 100 million Naira to a former PDP governor. This is just one case out of many, yet these revelations are but a tip of the iceberg of what Nigerians will hear in the days ahead,”
Tragedy struck when a woman had her first date with a man she met online. Charlotte Brown is said to have been killed when she was thrown from a speedboat and into the Thames while on a date.
She had been thrilled to take her first trip on a speedboat when she set off after a meal in The Shard skyscraper on Tuesday, her relatives said.
According to The Evening Standard, the 24-year-old business development consultant from Welling, south-east London, met her 29-year-old date online and the pair had been in contact for around a month, with Ms Brown “excited” see him in person, according to her family.
But the after-dinner boat ride turned to tragedy when they were thrown into the water. The coastguard was called after receiving reports of screams coming from the Thames near Wandsworth Bridge, south-west London, at around 11.45pm.
The pair were pulled from the water and rushed to hospital, but she later died.
Her sister said:
“Even the best swimmer in the Thames at his time of year, with the current conditions and the cold, I don’t see many people standing a chance without a life jacket.
“We don’t know exactly what happened. If she was wearing a life jacket there is a chance she could still be here today.”
Curvy actress, Halima Abubakar has spoken on competition and fake friends in the Nollywood industry, revealing that many find it difficult to celebrate others and their achievements.
Speaking to Punch, she said:
I am in an industry where people find it hard to congratulate you when there is good news. I often celebrate others and I am aware that not everyone can be like me. Most of my colleagues do not congratulate themselves whenever a feat has been achieved. I do not wait for people’s commendation because it would not fetch me money.
I appreciate those who do and I do not care about the rest who don’t. Some of my colleagues are capable of blocking every avenue of opportunity that comes my way. I pay attention to those who do not clap when I win because they are the ones I must avoid. These same people will invite you to their movie set and act as though they are your true friends.
Marriage is a beautiful thing and nothing beats getting married to the man of your dreams and living happily ever after.
As absurd as it seems, there’s not a whole lot of happily ever after among popular Nollywood actress in their first marriage, because a few months/years down the lane, they always discover they fell in love and got married to the wrong person and usually walk away from such marriages to find another that suits them more.
Here’s a list of popular Nollywood actresses who are in their second marriage because the last one wasn’t what they dreamed it was.
1. Mercy Aigbe-Gentry
Beautiful Nollywood actress and CEO of MagDivas boutique is one of the few actresses that didn’t have a great first marriage.
Very little is known about her first husband, who reportedly is an Igbo man and they both had a daughter, but that marriage didn’t stand the test of time as it crashed.
The actress has since moved on and got married to Lanre Gentry and it appears they are both unstoppable as they keep gushing about how their love for each other continues to grow.
The pair got married in 2013 and Lanre was formerly married to actress Bimbo Akinsanya before they went their separate ways.
