Veteran Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus has taken to social media to share her disapproval with the practice of parents using leashes on their children.

In a video shared via her Instagram page, Stella said parents should stop putting their kids on a leash because they are not animals.

The mother of two stated that no matter how problematic or badly behaved a child is, it’s not ideal for them to put on a leash.

She encouraged parents to seek the help of professionals or therapists in order to address their children’s behavior, rather than resorting to using a leash.

The 45-year-old thespian captioned the video,

“I just had to speak up. Been seeing this happen and people just walk away like it’s nothing. This CANNOT be NORMALIZED.”

Brazilian footballer, Neymar, and his influencer girlfriend, Bruna Biancardi, reportedly have a ‘bizarre’ list of conditions that allow him to be unfaithful in their relationship.

The PSG star, who is currently on vacation with his long-term girlfriend, has been posting pictures of their adventures, which include a trip to a Miami Heat playoff game.

The couple also recently confirmed that they are expecting their first child together, which would be Neymar’s second child.

However, it’s now been reported that the couple have an agreement in place that permits the Brazilian footballer to cheat on Biancardi if he wants to.

According to a Brazilian news outlet ‘Em Off’, the three conditions are that the affair ‘must be discreet’, that Neymar ‘must wear a condom’, and that he must not ‘kiss them on the lips’.

The report claim that the PSG winger is free to flirt and even have sex with other women, despite his relationship with Biancardi.

It was also reported that Neymar was ‘caught in an exchange of messages’ with ‘a lover’ on Valentine’s Day. He was also spotted out with his ex-girlfriend, Bruna Marquezine, in Miami last year.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Olalomi Oyegbile, popularly known as Portable, has likened himself to late legendary American singer, Michael Jackson.

In a video shared on his Instastory, Portable boasted that his fame and greatness is greater than that of the late king of pop, whose legacy continues to be widely discussed even after his passing in 2009.

Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 housemate, Pharmsavi, has recounted feeling betrayed by his best friend, Eloswag, while they were in the Level Up house.

During the Big Brother Naija Reunion show that aired on Tuesday night, Pharmsavi expressed his disappointment in Eloswag for nominating him for possible eviction, which ultimately led to his exit from the show.

Pharmsavi explained that he didn’t anticipate the nomination because Eloswag, who was his friend and lockdown roommate, held the position of Head of House at the time.

According to him, Eloswag’s decision to nominate him for possible eviction felt like a betrayal.

Veteran singer Charly Boy to sue record company for contract breach

Veteran Nigerian singer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has threatened to sue Premier Records Limited over an alleged violation of the terms of agreement in musical contracts signed about 35 years ago.

The singer’s lawyer, Mr Rockson Igelige, made this known in a letter written to the record label expressing Charly Boy’s grievances.

The letter, dated June 19, 2023, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, claimed that Charly Boy had signed Artists Recording Contracts with the company in 1988, 1990, and recently.

According to the lawyer, the contracts had since expired, but Premier Records was still infringing upon his client’s copyrights to the musical works.

The letter demanded that the company hand over Charly Boy’s master tapes, artworks, promo collateral for the music, and other relevant and confidential information within 30 days of the date of the letter.

The lawyer also demanded payment of Charly Boy’s outstanding royalties.

“On our client’s instructions, we demand that your company handover our client’s master tapes, artworks, promo collateral for the music and other relevant and confidential information with your company within 30 days of the date of this letter. We also demand your company’s payment of our client’s outstanding royalties,” the letter read in parts.

The albums affected, as stated by Mr Igelige, included the one recorded in 1990, featuring songs such as ‘Big Bottom’, ‘Aids’, ‘Sexy Lady’, ‘Mama’, and ‘Nwata Miss’. He also listed an album titled ‘U-Turn’ with songs like ‘Akula’, ‘Sheri’, ‘Comfort’, ‘Civilian Barrack’, and ‘Akula’ (instrumental). Another album mentioned was ‘Reality’, which contained songs like ‘Monkey’, ‘Family Support’, ‘No.6 Man’, ‘Give Me Life’, ‘Lagos Life’, and ‘Baby Come Back’.

The lawyer argued that the contracts with the company, initially known as Polydor Record in 1988, then Polygram Records Limited in 1990, and currently Premier Records Limited, had expired due to the passage of time.

“As a result, we have our client’s instructions to formally inform your company to stop further breaching our client’s copyrights to the musical works under the musical albums and singles produced during the aforementioned expired contract period,” stated Charly Boy’s lawyer. “This is because the conditions precedent, as well as the consideration for the contracts, were not met and furnished.

“This serves as a legal notice that further breach after the receipt of this letter will attract legal action.“We hope and trust that your company will comply with our client’s modest demands,” he added.

A Benue security expert, Jonathan Onoja Isaac, has taken to Facebook to remind men of his community, Otukpa, of the laid down morals and customs of their land.

The people of Otukpa have a special tradition – one of which is worshipping alekwu, who is known as the god of justice and represents the spirit of their ancestors.

According to their belief, alekwu has the ability to punish those who disobey the customs of their community. This includes actions like having an abortion or being unfaithful in marriage. Even men who contribute money for an abortion can face punishment from alekwu.

Jonathan, a public affairs analyst based in Abuja, has revealed that two Otukpa sons recently died prematurely while others were brought home for cleansing over the weekend.

Due to the tragedy, he took to Facebook to remind men of his community, both home and abroad, about the 10 commandments they should not joke with.

Nigerian content creator, Trinity Guy, has reacted after the spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force, Muyiwa Adejobi, called for his arrest over his extreme pranks.

It was earlier reported that Muyiwa Adejobi had taken to social media to call for the arrest of the Ibadan-based prankster over his recent prank video.

In the video, Trinity Guy, who is popular for his expensive pranks, is seen pretending to be killed by a gunshot, scaring unsuspecting passersby.

The prank apparently didn’t sit well with the police PRO, and he took to social media to express his disapproval.

He shared one of Trinity Guy’s worrisome pranks on his Instagram page, calling for his arrest. He urged people affected by the skitmaker’s pranks to report him to the authorities.

“This doesn’t make any sense, and I think the guy should have been arrested. Those individuals who feel the heat and fear of the pranks should report the pranksters, as many of their pranks are criminal, immoral, and evil. These women have a good case against him,” he wrote.

On Twitter, he added, “We have warned them severally. When nothing happens, nothing happens, but when something happens, consequences will surely follow. They will soon realize the dangers attributed to the excessiveness of doing unguided pranks.”

A young man named Jamal Nureni has met his untimely demise after a water tank belonging to a neighbour fell from its stand and crashed into his bedroom.

Nureni, who was only 20-years-old, was crushed to death in his grandmother, Alhaja Yemisi Odejinmi’s house on Alhaji Kazeem Street, Ikotun-Egbe area of Lagos.

It was gathered that Nureni was fast asleep in his room on Saturday, June 17th, when a tank full of water fell from the neighbor’s compound next to his grandmother’s house. He was rushed to the hospital but was sadly confirmed dead on arrival.

The bereaved grandmother has revealed that Nureni was seeking admission into the University of Lagos to study engineering. She said she was planning to get a citizenship confirmation letter for her grandson as part of the requirements for processing his admission.

According to her, she was planning to follow him to the palace of a Lagos monarch that Saturday morning to get the letter when the tragedy struck.

Speaking to Daily Trust, the grieving grandmother said,

“It is a fence separating my house and that of my neighbours. I have been living here for over 40 years. Whenever they pump water and their tank is full, it spills into my compound. I have talked to them several times, but they didn’t change and because we are all from the same town (Abeokuta), I decide to let go and always sweep the water,” she narrated.

“Jamal (Nureni) was seeking admission to the University of Lagos and he needed evidence of citizenship. He and I were planning to go to the palace of Oba of Isolo that Saturday morning to get a confirmation letter.

“I was in the bathroom around 6.30am when I heard a loud sound. I never knew it was in my room. The tank fell from our neighbour’s compound and crashed into the room where my grandson slept. It crushed his head. He was 20 years old and had been living with me for about three years.”

“His father lives in Canada and I have broken the news to him. He was very sad. We have been receiving a lot of visitors. The owners of the tank have been begging us too.”

Yvonne Nelson explained that she severed ties with her mother because her mother had lied to her about the identity of her father for many years.

According to Yvonne, her alleged father, Mr. Oko Nelson, is not her biological father, and she has been carrying the wrong last name.

Father puts troublesome son inside box to barb his hair

A frustrated father has been hailed on social media for coming up with an ingenious strategy to keep his youngster in place while he shaved his hair.

The father of the young boy, identified as @kelechianthony475 on Tiktok, received praise for devising such a clever plan that was effective and conducive for the boy.

Big Brother Titans winner, Makhosazane Twala, popularly known as Khosi, has revealed that she is yet to receive her prize for winning the maiden edition of the show.

The journalist turned reality TV star made this revelation in a recent interview.

Speaking during the interview with TV3 Ghana, Khosi disclosed that months after the show, she has yet to receive her $100,000 prize from the organizers of the Big Brother Titans show.

She also added that her fellow housemates have also not received their rewards from winning tasks on the show.

“My victory at the Big Brother Titans show really surprised me, and whenever I watch it, it feels unreal and gives me goosebumps… My fellow housemates and I have not been paid our rewards, and I am sure it’s for a good cause,“ she said in part.

The 25-year-old journalist from South Africa was crowned winner of the Big Brother Titans show during the grand finale on Sunday night, April 2.

Khosi, who without a doubt gave viewers quite a show, defeated Kanaga Jr. from Nigeria to become the ultimate winner of the maiden edition of Big Brother Titans, tagged “Ziyakhala Wahala,” and claimed the $100,000 cash prize.

Nigerian comedian, Bowoto Jephthah Tanimola, popularly known as Akpororo, took a swipe at the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, at a recent event.

His statement comes amid Peter Obi’s ongoing legal battle over the outcome of the 2023 presidential election, in which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared the winner.

During the event, Akpororo asked the audience if Peter Obi was still in court to which they responded in the affirmation. In response, the comedian said, “Obi will be in court for 8 years”.

Abuja-based public affairs analyst, Jonathan Onoja Isaac has reminded men of his community, Otukpa, the headquarters of Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, of established values and customs of their land.

The worship of alekwu, also known as the ancestor’s spirit or the deity of justice, is one of the Otukpa people’s customs.

According to legend, the alekwu has the authority to punish anybody who violates local traditions, such as having an abortion or having an extramarital relationship. Alekwu also penalizes men who pay for abortions.

On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, Mr. Jonathan announced on his Facebook page that two Otukpa boys had passed away before their time and that more sons had been brought home for purification the previous weekend.

He then listed 10 commandments the sons of Otukpa should abide by, he wrote;

“Attention: All Otukpa Sons Across the globe. HOW the mighties are falling….Between Traditions And Civilisations, which is the safest?

It has come to our notice, how some of our great men and youths from the otukpa kingdom are falling prey of the oza room set up by Delilahs in the name of civilization in marriages and friendships.

It’s so touching how these men are dying premature because of an enjoyment that they never lasted for an hour before cuming home in an ambulance. Due to these development, I wish to read out the riot act again to avoid I ”am not awia”

Don’t be deceived, two (2) are already down, and two others were brought home for cleansing over the weekend, but like you know, once a dog has licked an oil from the plate, no matter what you do, he will just be lapping the mouth and wangling the tongue.

Here are the 10 Commandments.

The Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) has shared clergyman, Chibuzor Chinyere’s reaction to the explosive interview the late Deborah Samuel’s family granted them.

In the interview, the family of Deborah Samuel, who was lynched to death over alleged blasphemy at the Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, cried out over the hardship they have been facing since relocating to Port Harcourt. Read here.

After the interview went viral, it is reported that the clergyman harassed Deborah’s father, Emmanuel Garba, by singling him out in church during a sermon to show his displeasure over the interview.

“The interview we gave, it has caused serious problems at OPM. Yesterday, he (Chinyere) called him outside inside the congregation and said that he heard everything. ‘Who interpreted it? Who interpreted that interview?’ He asked him. He (Garba) didn’t know the person, so he told him that he didn’t know the person. It seemed you brought the interpreter from your company, he told OPM.

“The pastor said that if he (Garba) knew the interpreter, he should provide that interpreter. ‘Why would you do such a thing? Why would you appear for an interview with a journalist?’ The pastor asked. Now, some people are looking at me as if I did nothing for you.’ We had serious issues with him yesterday.” FIJ quoted its source as saying.

Despite his displeasure with the interview, FIJ reports that Apostle Chibuzor instructed Deborah’s family to leave their current apartment and move to the mini estate provided by the church.

The clergyman also arranged for a mechanic to attend to the faulty green Toyota Corolla that Garba was using as a taxi.

A young man has stirred reactions online after trapping a woman who had been avoiding him despite collecting transport fare in his apartment.

The man planned to pay her back by locking her up inside his apartment when she finally came up to his house and caught her off guard.

A video of the woman screaming and pleading to be let out after being stuck inside was shared on TikTok by his friend @mamus006.

He added that while his friend had provided the woman money three times, she had not kept her promise to see him. He refused to allow her leave on the day she eventually arrived.

After the visit, she wanted to leave his house, but he reminded her that he never forgot how she would frequently take money from him without showing up.

He would not open the gate for her despite her wailing and terror and made fun of the woman in Pidgin for falling for his trap.

“As for people who nor understand my friend dey send her tp 3x she nor come so today she cor take bike come my friend com pay she com dey say I won go hux,” he wrote.

A Canadian millionaire in his early twenties, Luke Lintz, has strongly criticized his own generation for engaging in ‘mindless scrolling’ on social media.

Luke, who became successful after co-founding a company that is currently valued at millions of dollars with his brothers, stated that any young person who is provoked by his statement is just lazy.

According to him, more Gen Zs could also become millionaires in dollars if they simply refrain from using social media aimlessly.

The young entrepreneur, who lives in a luxury condo, drives super fast cars, and travels to exotic locations with his stay-at-home girlfriend, also shared the secrets to his success.

He said,

“People can blame the economy but ultimately you will get back the value you contribute.

You have to surround yourself with driven people to be successful and I couldn’t find that crowd by staying in my small hometown.

I know I really disappointed my parents when I decided to ditch college to run my own company.

At first, my dad was so upset he kicked me out of the house – which meant I had to make my own success from day one.

But it all ended well, he even later invested in the company and I know he is proud of me now.

I haven’t taken a day off in seven years.

There is so much opportunity out there but most 20-somethings are addicted to scrolling on their phones.”

Although Luke advises young people to reduce their usage of social media, it is worth noting that he reportedly amassed his wealth through Instagram advertising.

He initially started by creating advertisements to sell physical products and eventually expanded into digital marketing and public relations.

Presently, Luke and his brothers have established a client base of 1,200 individuals worldwide, which includes prominent celebrities such as Kevin Hart, Cardi B, Tyga, Nicki Minaj, Bella Thorne, and Rick Ross.

Luke’s aspiration is to become a billionaire by the age of 40. He currently has a workforce of over 75 full-time employees, and aims to generate a turnover of $100 million within the next five years.

A Nigerian woman suffering from sickle cell anemia says she has outlived a man who advised her father not to consider her among his children because she would die soon.

Elle Peter, a businesswoman with an MBA, revealed this on Twitter while sharing her battle with the hereditary condition on World Sickle Cell Day, which is observed every June 19.

According to her, the man who made the offensive remark to her father passed away in 2016, while she is still alive and thriving with good health.

She tweeted,

“Growing up some man told my Dad not to count me among his children cos I have sickle cell and I’ll die soon. The man died in 2016 but I’m still here healthy and bubbly,” the sickle cell advocate wrote.

“I kept my struggles with sickle cell a secret until my 28th birthday. My mom and I traveled alot and lived outside the country for my treatment for years but friends & family had no idea. Looking back now and realizing my parents were protecting me from stigma and wicked people.”

The young chef from Ekiti State, who gained significant attention on social media after reportedly cooking non-stop for 120 hours in a video that has since gone viral, made an appeal for financial support.

Dammy expressed her gratitude for the funds received from her fans and well-wishers during her 120-hour cooking marathon. However, she revealed that the amount collected thus far is insufficient to cover the cost of hiring a security detail, particularly a soldier, to ensure her safety.

The thespian was interviewed by popular content creator, Egungun, who specializes in interviewing celebrities and random people on the street about the value of their outfit.

In his usual style, Egungun posed a question to Eniola Badmus about the monetary value of her full ensemble, and she proceeded to give a detailed breakdown of the amount.

Though dressed in a seemingly simple outfit consisting of trousers and a shirt, the thespian shocked many when she revealed that the combined value of everything she was wearing costs over N17 million.

According to the 40-year-old actress, the wig she wore on her head costs ₦700,000, her sunglasses were valued at £700, and her collection of jewelry, including gold chains, bracelets, anklets, and rings, amounted to millions of naira.
