Big Brother Naija housemate, Dorathy Bachor has expressed her joy and excitement as she announces her successful acquisition of a Canada visa.

The reality star turned entrepreneur took to her Instagram story to recount the challenges she faced while attempting to obtain a visa in 2019 and 2020.

According to Dorathy, she had quit her job out of frustration after being demoted for what she considered a ridiculous reason and had no idea where she would get money for it but planned to travel to Canada.

She revealed that she was unable to write the exam the next year because of big brother but everything eventually fell into place.

She wrote;

“Back in 2019, I had just quit my job out of frustration of being demoted to front desk because of the most ridiculous reason, it was one of the most difficult time in my life because I was so confused about what I wanted to do with my life.

Made a decision to apply to school in Canada and i honestly didn’t know where the money was going to come from but I bought the ielts form and was preparing for the exam.

On this random day a friend of my sister visited us, he had just gotten his passport back from the Canadian embassy, so he came so we could celebrate. I took a little piece of the nylon his passport came in and hung it by my window.

Wasn’t sure how it was going to happen but I woke up every day and drew strength from that piece of nylon my sister would laugh at me and ask me why I’d be talking to a piece of nylon I didn’t care. I just kept hanging in there 2020 came and I was going to write my exam but big brother happened.

Fast forward to 2023 and I’m just looking at it and smiling. Life is funny.

Sharing this because it meant a lot to me at some point in my life and I’m grateful to God.

God’s plan for your life is always greater.”

A Nigerian man, identified as Okpani Ugochukwu, has passed away just hours before he was supposed to depart for the UK for his Master’s degree.

Okpani reportedly died in his sleep on Friday, May 19, hours before his flight to the UK. His friends have taken to social media to mourn his tragic passing.

It was gathered that he secured a scholarship for a Master’s program at Wolverhampton University, and was to leave Nigeria on Friday.

He had also taken to his personal Facebook page on Thursday night to announce that he would be travelling abroad for his Masters program.

Popular South African media personality, Bonang Matheba, has bragged about sleeping with the biggest stars in Africa.

She stated this in a recent episode of reality TV show ‘Young, Famous and African’, while having a conversation with her fellow stars.

The musician had returned with a wind whirl after he took a hiatus from the music industry following the unfortunate passing of his beloved son.

In a recent Instagram live chat with her followers, she spoke on Hilda’s superb effort to break her record.

She asserted that she is pleased that Hilda Baci broke her record by cooking for an astounding 100 hours, noting that the Guinness World Record would eventually honor the achievement with a prize.

Inmates crown Seun Kuti ‘General Overseer’, as he leads prayer sessions

Embattled Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti, who is now being confined at the State Criminal, Investigations, and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos on the orders of the Yaba Chief Magistrate Court for attacking a police officer has been named the “General Overseer” of his cell by the prisoners.

According to Vanguard, he reportedly received a copy of the Holy Bible as a token of his authority. However, since the convicts originally rejected him, his selection as the GO wasn’t without turmoil.

Seun was ordered to be arrested by Inspector-General of Police Alkali Baba after he was seen on camera hitting a police officer on the Third Mainland bridge on May 13.

He, however, surrendered to the police on Monday, May 15, while being accompanied by his attorneys, and on Tuesday, when he was charged, the Sabo, Yaba Chief Magistrate Court ordered his remand.

According to the account, Seun’s initial shock came from the raspy, deep baritone voice of the inmate leader telling him to maintain standing when he was led to the cell to join other suspected offenders.

A problem sprang out within the cell a short while later after it was reported that the other prisoners had rejected him. The prisoners were pounding on their metal security door, demanding that Seun be removed from the cell.

According to sources cited in the story, Seun began pleading for quiet as the inmates’ outcry became louder. At that point, he realized that the disturbance his presence had created and the convicts’ rejection of him had received little to no attention from the police guards. He apparently pledged to provide them N25,000 at that time, and he was ordered to present it right away. He had to beg for a phone in order to call his wife, who came right away with the money and gave it to their leader. After that, the prisoners welcomed Seun and gave him a place to sit down.

Seun apparently became so enraged by the unpleasant events that had occurred that he refused to eat any of the food that was served to him, including food that his wife brought. The hunger strike lasted for over a day and a half before he began eating.

The drama’s conclusion Came when the prisoners subsequently named him the cell’s General Overseer and gave him a bible. That indicates that he is currently leading the prisoners in prayer whenever the situation calls for it, at which point they would all chant, “GO, GO.”

Ascending the steps to the office of the responsible Deputy Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara, on Friday afternoon, Seun was apparently observed holding the Bible securely in his left hand. Later, he was taken back into the cell after descending the steps.

Sources revealed that the singer’s elder brother Femi, other family members, his attorneys, and a few friends have all paid the musician a visit.

A Nigerian Pastor identified as Joshua Agunbiade has stirred controversy with his sermon on “attire of a harlot” which netizens have assumed to be an attack against record-breaking chef, Hilda Baci.

According to Hilda’s post, the ‘evidence footage’ from her cooking marathon is still being uploaded for the Guinness World Records certification.

She shared her progress in uploading footage of the 4 days marathon on the Guinness World Records portal.

“2 days in uploading evidence footage for Guinness world record approval. 100 hours file is extremely large, we are trying to do this in record time”.

Popular Nigerian socialite Ismaila Mustapha, better known as Mompha disputed the EFCC’s assertions that he had been detained again on money laundering accusations totaling N6 billion.

Recall that the anti-graft agency confirmed the arrest to Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, May 15, 2023.

The EFCC counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, informed the court that the prosecution, in collaboration with its international partners, had secured the arrest of Mompha.

Mompha, however, refuted the claim in a statement posted to his Instagram page today and shared a video of himself and his wife driving in Dubai.

He said that his family and he were in Dubai and alleged that whenever the commission sought media importance, they used his name to trend.

He wrote;

“IDAN WAS NOT REARRESTED BY EFCC; 33BG IS NOT IN EFCC CUSTODY

Contrary to the recent publication in most media platforms in Nigeria that I, Mompha was rearrested by the EFCC. I want to use this medium to expose the corrupt and mischievous commission again that I was neither rearrested nor am I in the custody of the EFCC. This assertion by the EFCC is laughable because I am currently not in Nigeria more or less rearrested either in Nigeria

I hereby urge the commission to desist from this insensible media trial and stop misleading people through the press/media that I am in your custody and would produce me before the Court on the 3rd of July.

It has now become very clear that the only motive of the EFCC is to witch-hunt me and use my name MOMPHA to trend anytime they are looking for cheap media relevance. One would think Mompha would be the least of their worries during this period of change in government, and occupy themselves with task of going after the corrupt politicians who are impoverishing the ordinary Nigerians.

Woman reportedly arrested for collecting child support money from 8 men who believed they are her child’s father

A South African woman has been arrested for allegedly collecting child support payments from eight different men, all of whom believed they were the biological father of her child.

The suspect, identified as Nancy Mudau, allegedly carried out this scheme successfully for 12 years. During this time, she managed to collect money from the men who thought they were financially supporting their child. The collection included tuition for the child.

According to local media, Nancy used the child support money to build a beautiful house for herself, and was reportedly building a tavern (a drinking joint) at the time of her arrest.

Nigerian banker shares how his wife and her relatives made his life terrible after he lost his job

A Nigerian banker identified as -Obi Ishiek has told the terrible story of how his life spiraled out of control after he lost his job and his wife and her family waged war on him until he left his home.

According to him, he had a perfect life with his wife who was also a banker and when he lost his job which was his wife’s fault, she had no sympathy and invited four of her relatives to live with them.

In his words;

“I was a banker married to a banker until I lost my job via downsizing. For two years I searched for another job no way, I was paid off handsomely and I lost all the money in some business investment.

Within that 2 years, three of my in-laws moved into our home in
lekki and it became hell for me, let me not go into the details of what I passed through.

My wife was paying the rent, school fees of the kids etc. It got worst when my wife was promoted and my mother in law moved in. She came into the dining room one evening and said it’s only food I like to eat, I told her to keep off my marriage and we had some exchange of words.

To cut it short, my wife came back and hell was lose, she said I insulted the mother. Very early next morning, I picked some few cloths and left.
I left everything l owned and took off to preserve my sanity.

After I left, I squatted with a couple of friends in Lagos attending job interviews, it was very rough for me but I thank God for my friends. It’s good to be good to your friends when you are up there, I helped a lot of them when I was working.

So they took it upon themselves to contribute money for me, because I lost so much weight. I once went to see my kids, they didn’t let me in, I stood at the gate for about 30 minutes.

But as God would have it, I landed a better paying job. About more than a year after our separation, bang!! She lost her job, moved away from lekki to the mainland. I heard she is blaming her mother for her problems, who cares.

She now sells stuff online. I’ve forgiven her but the marriage is over.
My two kids live with her, I pay school fees directly to the school and other child keeping expenses. This year she made several attempts to mend fences, but honestly I am done. I’ve moved on with my life. Today I have a better job and live comfortably alone”

Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has stated that men are wired to cheat.

The singer made this assertion in the latest season of the popular reality series “Young, Famous & African” in the presence of his wife, Annie, and fellow star, Nadia Nakai.

The “African Queen” star, while sharing his thoughts on why men cheat on their spouses, noted that a man can love his wife and still cheat on her with someone he doesn’t have feelings for.

In the presence of his wife, actress Annie Idibia, he explained that men’s desires are instinctual and primarily driven by the urge for sexual gratification.

He said, “Like it or not, men are wired like that. A man will love a woman to hell, but maybe he is somewhere, and his dick would just decide something to fuck.”

Nadia, a participant in the show, then interjected, saying it’s not the man’s genitals but his mind that makes such decisions, to which 2Baba responded, “Okay, however you look at it, he will f*ck.”

Reacting, Annie questioned her husband whether his comments were reflective of his personal beliefs or a general statement.

Nigerian lady empties her boyfriend’s apartment barely 48 hours after he was murdǝred

A Nigerian woman has reportedly carted away all of her boyfriend’s belongings shortly after he was brutally murdered.

Taking to Twitter, the deceased’s cousin revealed that he was tragically killed by unidentified assailants in his apartment, and investigation is still ongoing to identify the culprits.

The situation, however, took a twist when the victim’s girlfriend of three years hired a bus to pack all his belongings and electronic gadgets.

The suspicious act has led the police to consider her as a potential suspect in the murder case, resulting in her arrest.

Meanwhile, her mother claims that she advised her daughter to take advantage of the situation and pack her boyfriend’s properties.

This girl ordered for a full bus and started loading up the guy’s properties in it. TV, Fridge, speakers, washing machine and other important appliances. It wasn’t even 24hours of his death.

The kind of anger I felt was nothing compared to none. She has been arrested and I’m sure she knows something about his death. Cus why would any sane person behave that way.

FCMB founder, Otunba Subomi Balogun is dead!

Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun, the founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Olori Omoba of Ijebuland, has passed away at the age of 89.

He died in the early hours of this morning, May 19, in London. The news of his death has been confirmed by media personality Dele Momodu, who shared the information on Instagram.

Dele Momodu wrote,

“Diamonds are forever OVATION INTERNATIONAL magazine (since 1996)… Good night CHIEF OLASUMOMI BALOGUN… Rest in Peace Sir.”

Just recently, popular indigenous Nollywood actor, Murphy Afolabi, has been reported dead at the age of 49.

According to multiple sources, he died from injuries he sustained from falling down in the bathroom in the early hours of Sunday, May 14.

A colleague, Tunde Ola Yusuf, confirmed the sad story.

This comes after it was reported that veteran Nigerian thespian, Obinna Nwafor, better known by his stage name Saint Obi, tragically passed away recently.

According to reports that’s circulating the web, Obi kicked the bucket on Monday, May 7, 2023. The veteran actor is said to have passed away after spending several months travelling to the hospital for treatment of an unspecified illness.

A source who spoke to blogger, Moji Delano revealed that the actor, who he had seen a couple of times and recognized as Saint Obi, had died on Sunday and that the following day, his body was taken to the morgue at JUTH. This was following a visit to his sister’s residence in Jos.

A Kenyan chef who cooked non-stop for 75 hours in 2019 in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record has returned to challenge Hilda Baci’s record.

Chef Maliha Mohammad, a Mombasa-based chef, made an attempt to break the record for the longest cooking time by an individual at Kenya Bay Beach Resort in Mombasa, on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

However, it was not acknowledged by Guinness World Record, and Indian chef, Lata Tondon, proceeded to break the record with a cooking time of 87 hours, 45 min, in September 2019.

Well, Nigerian chef and food blogger, Hilda Baci, recently cooked for 100 hours in Lagos, aiming to set a new record pending confirmation by Guinness World Record.

Recall that Hilda caused a buzz on the internet with her record breaking attempt, and topped the social media trend table for four days.

In a new development, Chef Maliha has announced her plan to smash the current cooking record on August 11, 2023.

She said in a video shared online that she is currently in training to break not just Hilda Baci’s record, but also the record for the ‘home kitchen cooking marathon’ by November.
