Popular Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare has praised the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos’ new international terminal for Nigeria.

Laide Bakare, who had recently returned to Nigeria after spending months abroad, expressed her delight at the new airport facilities on Instagram.

She exclaimed how “amazing” the new terminal was and how proud she was of how her nation had developed in the months that she was away.

She wrote;

“This is Nigeria. Naija how una dey? Home sweet home. Our new Airport is actually amazing”.

A formally dressed handsome man has been apprehended by traders who accused him of stealing multiple phones at different shops on different dates.

A video making the rounds on social media captured the moment a corporately dressed fellow was questioned about his activities.

It was confirmed by voices in the background that a former merchant who is now deceased made a false complaint against an apprentice as a result of stealing from the other trader.

The phone burglar, who didn’t alter a single word all through could be seen dressed in a blazer, with a gold wristwatch and an expensive formal shoe

In other news, the First lady of Anambra, Dr. Nonye Soludo has blamed parental neglect and family carelessness for the increasing prevalence of social illnesses and vices.

The governor’s wife, who made the assertion on Friday, May 26, in Awka to commemorate the 2023 International Day of Families, organized by the Anambra State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, advised against having children if people lacked the capacity to train them.

A woman’s happy response after getting a car from her son has been captured on video and is currently trending on social media.

He gave her a brand-new Toyota at their home after purchasing it. She was so ecstatic when she first saw it that she immediately collapsed and began rolling around on the ground.

The happy mother never stopped thanking God for blessing both her and her kid. Friends and neighbours who witnessed the incident cheered and congratulated her.

She was then instructed to get in the automobile and take pleasure in the sense of satisfaction and assurance that comes with being behind the wheel of one’s own vehicle. Her son also gave her a package of cash as a surprise in addition to the automobile.

Popular Nollywood actress, Juliana Olayode, has tendered a public apology to her senior colleague, Funke Akindele.

You will recall that Juliana, who came into the limelight with her role as Toyosi in Funke Akindele’s sitcom, ‘Jenifa’s Diary’, had a fallout with Funke over an undisclosed issue in 2017.

Years later, in a lengthy Instagram post on Saturday night, Juliana expressed her deep remorse and apologized to Funke, admitting that she deeply hurt her.

She also addressed the issues that led to her withdrawal from the series.

“As a teenager, my career in the mainstream entertainment industry started in a place that many people who have put in years of hard work could only dream of. How could a neophyte start from the mainstream if not for a miracle?

In my case, the mercy of God and unmerited favor was evident. I broke into the industry by playing a friend and co-lead with a screen goddess who had put in decades of hard work and unprecedented creativity, even at that time.

God used Aunty Funke Akindele @funkejenifaakindele to put me into the limelight. It was a shocker for me, especially at that tender age when I had barely left secondary school. The kind of fame I earned from playing Toyosi in Jenifa’s Diary was too enormous for my understanding.

However, the lack of industry know-how started manifesting in me, coupled with the fact that I had a guardian (manager) who didn’t understand how the entertainment industry works, and I believed anything he felt and said.

My guardian sent an email to Scene One TV, the producers of the sitcom, the entire content of which I wasn’t aware of until recently.

The story of my goofs at the start of my career cannot be exhausted in a million words. I want to use this opportunity to apologize to Aunty Funke Akindele. Ọmọdé ò lè mọ ẹ̀kọ́ jẹ, kó má ra lọ́wọ́. I am incredibly sorry for how I hurt you and how the email that was sent hurt you.

A Nigerian artiste, Kinq Brizy, has received the opportunity of a lifetime to perform for Davido, and he displayed his talent.

He met Davido during a Sounds of ALAT event put on by ALAT whose brand ambassador is the superstar singer.

The DMW chairman was thrilled when Brizy approached the stage and sang a remixed version of the online bank’s jingle.

“I will never call Tinubu My President” – Pastor Tunde Bakare

Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has explained why he will never refer to President-elect, Bola Tinubu as his President.

Pastor Bakare remarked that the 2023 election was full of fraud and inadequate standards when speaking during a webinar on Saturday, May 27.

Additionally, he said that the Independent National Electoral Commission messed up the election campaign, and that Nigeria is now going away from someone who upholds integrity and is impervious to corruption toward someone who does not.

Bakare said;

“Last Wednesday, I was at the Glass House where he (Buhari) has been restricted now because the main house is being renovated. I said I have done that for you. I want you to know that, because of the circumstances of your flying into power on the wings of integrity and incorruptibility, but you’re now passing onto someone who does not have that value.

At any public lecture anywhere, before this mess is cleared off, I will address Asiwaju (Tinubu) as a President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria but I will never call him my president.

I participated in the primary, and there were hundreds (of persons) who participated only by stepping down, so there is no shame in what we have done. We spoke truth to power.

I wasn’t there when they voted, I wasn’t there when they scored (me) zero, but we won that badge of zero and badge of honour.”

Speaking on if he would accept a nomination to become a Minister, Bakare said;

“I am not desperate to be a minister, not at all. I was offered before but I turned it down. My life is not just to take photographs with the president and shake hands. But we will do if it will benefit even one citizen.”

Popular Yoruba movie star, Bimbo Success, has stated that insufficient training is to blame for actors’ lack of flexibility in the industry.

Speaking in an interview with The Punch, she claimed that some actresses believe that having money is all they need to produce a successful film.

Bimbo said that the wealthy actresses who make movies without formal training are to blame for the industry’s loss of substance.

She said;

“It is lack of training (that makes actors not to be flexible in interpreting their roles). There are some people in the industry who do not go for training. There are some ladies, who shot movies just because they had money. They would go behind closed doors to do the movie without prior training. Once they have money, they produce films, even without knowing the job.”

Speaking on how far she had come in the industry, Success said;

“I have achieved a lot in the movie industry. Some people appreciate me. I got married when I was in the industry and I know many people in the industry. My husband, Saheed Oscar, is a director in the industry.”

The graduate of Mass Communication, Olabisi Onabanjo University, also stated that the course had impacted her career.

“It is good to be educated. It tells a lot on one’s career. Some people are surprised that I went to school. Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has opined that she found it strange when strangers came to her social media DMs to ask her to use her connections to help them get a job.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, the mum of one noted that helping a stranger who she did not know was risky for her if the situation turned sour.

According to her, if the stranger committed a crime at the new job, she would be the one responsible for it because she was helping the person.

Media personality Yeni Kuti, has revealed that the late Afrobeats superstar, Fela Kuti was not a good father.

She stated this while being interviewed by media personality, Chude Jideonwo, but added that he was an icon and a role model.

Yeni said that while Fela and his first son, Femi Kuti, were always at odds, she never addressed him about not being a good father.

Media personality and elder sister of Nigerian singer Femi Kuti, Yeni Kuti, has revealed why the singer’s ex-wife, Funke, left him.

Speaking in a recent chat with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Yeni revealed Funke walked out of the marriage due to a “communication breakdown.”

She noted that Funke regretted her decision, as she later admitted that if she had known what she knows now, she probably wouldn’t have divorced the singer.

“I think the divorce between Femi and Funke was a result of a communication breakdown. Even now, Funke says that if she had known then what she knows now, she probably wouldn’t have left the marriage. So, I believe it was a communication breakdown.”

A Nigerian man has stirred controversy online with the job vacancy for a house help he created.

The young, unmarried, and busy businessman who posted the job description sparked uproar by making specific demands for the position, including sharing a bed with the chosen candidate.

The job posting received rapid notice and outrage as it went viral on social media.

The employer, a 27-year-old self-acclaimed business guru who works from home, claimed to have little time for socializing and was looking for a woman in the 20–24 age range to help with household duties, prepare meals, and satisfy his sexual needs.

He offered a salary exceeding N50,000-N60,000 for these services.

The advertisement was shared on the microblogging platform, by Belyndaa, who expressed her fury and vented her frustration.

She took to her Instagram page this morning to reveal she recently acquired a property few hours after her birthday announcement.

A while back, Nons Miraj underwent a Botox nose job to achieve a more pointed nose.

A Botox nose job is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that involves injecting Botox into the nose to reshape it.

Videos showing the content creator undergoing the procedure for a more pointy nose were shared online and spurred reactions from social media users.

In the footage, the 26-year-old can be seen flinching in pain as the aesthetician injects her nostrils to make them smaller and narrower.

A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to recount the amusing text her husband sent to her when she was yelling and experiencing contractions in the delivery room.

The lady shared in a tweet that her spouse had told her that the way she was yelling was exactly how she moaned during their sexual encounters.

Joseph Ada, a former housemate on the Big Brother Nigeria reality TV show, now known as BBNaija, has passed away.

Joseph, who participated in the first edition of the BBNaija show in 2006, reportedly died on Wednesday, May 24th, in Delare, US.

He was diagnosed with pancreatitis, which led to his untimely death.

Joseph, a former flight attendant with Virgin Atlantic, had relocated to the United States after the show.

He appeared on the reality show in 2006 with other housemates like popular media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Maureen Osuji, and Gideon Okeke, among others.

In other news, a final-year student of Benson Idahosa University (BIU), Bruno Chigozie Ezeonye, has passed away due to alleged negligence by the school authority.

The Computer Science student, said to be the only son of his parents, reportedly slumped while playing football on the school field on Tuesday May 23, and was rushed to the school clinic.

The deceased was reportedly left unattended for hours at the clinic, which is allegedly under-equipped.

His schoolmates reportedly tried taking him to the nearest hospital to be treated but were unable to do so because there was allegedly no fuel in the ambulance.

When they eventually got fuel, the school’s security refused to allow them leave the premises until they submitted an official exit request.

Due to the delay, Chigozie, who was only 21-years-old, gave up the ghost on Tuesday. His mother reportedly collapsed after receiving news of his death.

Following his death, students at the school staged a protest, and reportedly vandalized the school clinic and security post.

UK-based Nigerian lady passes away 4 months to completion of nursing degree

A UK-based Nigerian Nursing student has reportedly passed away four months before earning her university degree.

The information was first shared on Twitter by a user identified as Habdulakeem Bhadmus.

According to reports, Winifred Chioma George, passed away on May 21, 2023.

She had just four months left to complete her nursing degree at the University of Hertfordshire when she passed suddenly.

According to Badmus, who related the experience, migrating overseas is accompanied by the intense worry of never seeing one’s family again.

He wrote;

“One of my biggest fears about migrating is the possibility of not seeing some friends & family ever again. Sadly, Winifred Chioma George, a Nigerian Nursing Student who was only 16weeks away from completing her nursing degree at the University of Hertfordshire died May 21 2023 💔”

Popular Nollywood actor and movie producer, Ibrahim Chatta, has finally addressed the issue of being overlooked the 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA)

Chatta voiced his dissatisfaction at not being invited to the coveted award event during an interview with a radio station in Ibadan.

Ibrahim Chatta said in the interview that he had previously felt ignored because the AMVCA had failed to take notice of him.

Popular Nigerian singer, Bella Shmurda, has disclosed that the recording and video shoot for his breakthrough song “Vision 2020” were funded by renowned rapper Olamide.

He said that Poco Lee, a well-known dancer, and Zlatan Ibile were important figures in the development of his profession.

In a recent interview with Pulse, Bella made this revelation, saying that the YBNL boss contributed more by promoting the song on his social media profiles.

He claimed that despite not being a YBNL Nation signee, Olamide treated him just how one would ordinarily be treated.

The ‘Cash App’ singer described how Poco Lee introduced him to Olamide.

According to him, Poco who was living with Zlatan on Lagos Island begged the rapper to accommodate him which he obliged.

Popular Afrobeats singer, Seun Kuti, has taken to social media to recount his unpleasant experience in police custody.

Recall that he was detained in jail for days before being eventually released after being charged with assaulting a police officer.

On the recommendation of the Yaba Chief Magistrate Court, Seun was remanded in the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.

The musician regained his freedom on Tuesday night, May 23 after much effort from lawyers.

Taking to his Instastory on Friday, Kuti shared his ordeal in jail.

Th activist revealed that he was made to lay down on a hard cold floor with other prisoners.

However, the controversial singer opined that the horrible treatment he endured in proson was a better fate than sitting with politicians in the ‘Devils house’.

The First lady of Anambra, Dr. Nonye Soludo has blamed parental neglect and family carelessness for the increasing prevalence of social illnesses and vices.

The governor’s wife, who made the assertion on Friday, May 26, in Awka to commemorate the 2023 International Day of Families, organized by the Anambra State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, advised against having children if people lacked the capacity to train them.

In her words;

“There are lots of vices in our society today because the family foundation is faulty. Parents are too busy to prioritize the upbringing of their children.

Due to lack of parental care, children engage in robbery, cultism, drug addiction, exam fraud, hooliganism, thuggery, gambling, smoking, rape and other crimes.

We need to put our families first and prioritize the upbringing of our children. Family is everything and the betterment of society starts with the family”

She expressed displeasure over parents who give out their children as house helps and guardians who also maltreat or abuse children.

“It is sad that parents shy away from their responsibilities and give out their children to strangers who maltreat and abuse these children. If you are not ready to train children, do not have any or you give birth to the number of children you can cater for and bring them up to be responsible men and women in the society. I also urge our women to stop maltreating and abusing their house helps. Show them love and treat them like your own children,” she said.

In the clip, the men could be seen spraying bundles of naira notes on the clergyman who happily received the money on the pulpit.

The money was so much that the pastor needed the help of two ushers to collect it into offering bags.

Popular Nigerian media personality, Daddy Freeze, has taken a snide dig at Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, amid his ongoing marital crisis.

Taking to Instagram, the On Air Personality took a swipe at Yul while reacting to a video of Nigerian music executive, Don Jazzy, explaining why he can’t commit to one woman.

Don Jazzy had recently stated in an interview with Glitch Africa that he is unable to stay faithful to only one woman.

He mentioned that although his perspective might change if he finds his soulmate, for now, he is not capable of staying committed to a single woman.

“I wouldn’t be able to process the fact that if I like this person every other person should go to hell. As of now in my life, when that butterfly hit me as it hit you people when you fall in love, maybe I will then say every other person is fucked.” He said.

Entertainer Tunde Ednut shared a video of the interview on his Instagram page, which sparked a flurry of comments from netizens, including Daddy Freeze.

In his response, Daddy Freeze commended Don Jazzy’s honesty and pointed out that if Yul had shared his stance on polygamy with his first wife, May, from the beginning, she may not have had an issue accepting his second marriage.

Daddy Freeze further emphasized that he personally cannot cheat on his wife but understands Don Jazzy’s perspective.

“If Yul had told May this, there wouldn’t be any issues today. As for me, I get butterflies for @tastebudzng though. But I understand him perfectly,” he wrote.

A newly-wedded Nigerian lady has caused a stir after revealing where she met her husband.

The beautiful lady, identified on Twitter as @hoelyajoke, recently tied the knot with her sweetheart and reveaed on the micro-blogging platform that they met through a “detty December hookup.”

According to her, they were coursemates in university and decided to meet and have intimate relations after completing their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). However, their casual encounter eventually led to marriage.

“I got to know my husband through a detty December hookup… We were coursemates back in uni, and after NYSC, we decided to meet and have relations, intending to part ways… but here we are,” she wrote on Twitter.

It was alleged that the groom’s family fulfilled all of the bride price requirements and transported the things to his fiancée’s family home for the wedding rituals.
