Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has broken his silence on the death of his grandson, Kambilichukwu Edochie.

The news of the death of the 16-year-old son of actor Yul Edochie and his first wife, May, sent shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry and the Ngerian webspace yesterday, March 30.

Kambilichukwu Edochie, who just turned 16 in January 2023, is said to have slumped and developed a seizure while playing football with his friends on Wednesday, March 29.

He was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. Read here.

Reacting to the sad news in a chat with Vanguard, Pete Edochie described Kambilichukwu as a brilliant, unusual child who excelled in everything.

The grandfather said that it was unfortunate that his grandson died while he had shown great promise.

“Kambilinachukwu is a very quiet, brilliant and talented child. He’s not somebody you can ride easily. He doesn’t get angry no matter the situation.

He may change his composure, but he was definitely a very unusual person in so many respects.

“He was so accomplished. I always tell my son that I don’t like people excelling like this in any thing they are involved in. Experience has taught me that such people don’t last long.” He said.

Popular Ghanaian singer, Shatta Wale, has appealed to the president-elect of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to take him as his adopted son.

Shatta Wale made this request in a post shared via his Twitter handle on Thursday, March 31. According to him, a lot of people say he looks like the newly elected president of Nigeria, so he wants him to accept him as his son.

The singer, who referred to Tinubu as his “dad,” pleaded with him to come and get him from Ghana, and promised to entertain him with one of his songs.

He posted a photo of himself and the president-elect and wrote,

Wizkid’s baby mama under fire for promoting “More Love Less Ego” on Davido’s album release day

Nigerian super star singer, Wizkid’s baby mama, Jada P, has faced heavy criticism from Nigerians on social media for promoting her baby daddy’s album “More Love, Less Ego” on the release day of Davido’s new album.

Fans, followers, and colleagues alike had been anticipating the release of singer Davido’s fourth studio album, “Timeless,” since he gave the release date as March 31 following his return to social media a few days ago.

However, only hours before the release date, Davido’s colleague, Wizkid’s baby mama, Jada P, who doubles as his manager, took to Twitter to promote his “More Love, Less Ego” album, which was released in November last year.

“Move Love, Less Ego”, Jada P wrote in a now deleted tweet.

This did not sit well with fans and followers of 30 BG boss Davido, who immediately called her out and dragged her to shreds for the tweet.

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Davido, has penned a heartfelt note to his wife, Chioma, as he finally released his highly anticipated album, ‘Timeless.’

Following a long musical hiatus, the 30 BG boss returned to the music scene with this master piece. The 17-track album features Nigerian and international artistes, including Asake, Fave, Focalistic, and Angelique Kidjo, among others.

Controversial actress, Esther Nwachukwu has berated actor Yul Edochie’s first wife, May, for refusing to forgive him after he married a second wife.

Recall that Yul Edochie announced in April 2022 that he had married and welcomed a child with his colleague, Judy Austin-Edochie.

This infuriated his first wife, May, who expressed her displeasure with his decision to take a second wife and stated that she will not be forced to accept polygamy.

She wrote in part, “To reaffirm my stands, I will not be cajoled into accepting polygamy, which goes against my beliefs, faith, and values. I will not be numbered in a home that we started building with love, faith, tears, hopes, and prayers in a Catholic marriage of 18 years following a long term premarital relationship.”

Sadly, May Edochie lost her first son with her husband, Kambilichukwu, 16, to the cold hands of death on Thursday, May 30.

Esther took to social media after the death of the young boy to criticize May for not forgiving her husband and allowing peace to reign when he married Judy.

She accused the bereaved mother of looking for an exit strategy before the second wife saga and seizing the opportunity when he married Judy.

According to her, the now mother of three pulled the pity card and used her husband’s shortcoming to enrich herself, instead of sticking by him for better or worse.

Esther wrote,

Davido unveiled the tracklist for his much-anticipated album ‘Timeless’ on Wednesday, March 30.

The announcement was made alongside the introduction of two new artistes, Moravey and Logos Olori, who have been signed to his record label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).

The album features guest appearances from Beninese-French singer, Angelique Kidqo, The Cavemen, Asake, Skepta, Focalistic and Fave, as well as the new DMW signees.

Davido has always been know for his ability to fuse different sounds and genres, and the 17-track project looks set to continue this trend.

Nigerian prophet, Samuel King, who foresaw tragedy in the family of Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, also shared a prophecy about Nigerian music star, Burna Boy.

The clergyman had during the new year’s service in his church, warned against an impending loss in the Edochie family and asked them to pray fervently against mourning.

A South African prophetess, Jeslynn, has advised wives to support and stand by their husbands, regardless of their behavior or decisions.

According to her, husbands are the heads of their households, and it is the biblical duty of wives to obey and honor them, even when they are wrong or drunk.

Popular Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola-Salako, has reacted to the allegation that she snatched her husband, Kayode Salako, from his ex-wife and allegedly took over her school.

In reaction to Foluke’s post, where she lashed out at Nigerian youths who disrespect elderly people online, a Twitter user claimed to have witnessed the incident, which also made news years ago.

The Twitter user, who claimed to be a student at the school at the time, alleged that Foluke came into the school as acting coach and ended up snatching the proprietress’ husband and taking control of the school.

“I’m not judging o. can’t take her serious. cos everytime I see dis woman I’m reminded of how she came into my sec school as acting coach & ended up snatching d school owner’s husband. Both of them took d school from d Proprietress who had inherited it from her mum. 🙊.” The Twitter user wrote.

Reacting to the allegations in a video she shared online, Foluke clarified that she is not an academic and never met her husband at the school.

According to her, they met on “neutral” ground, and the school in question was started by her husband’s relative and not owned by her husband’s ex-wife, who left their marriage.

Foluke, who averred that she is the only legal wife of her husband, admitted that he’s a polygamist who has kids with different women.

She, however, noted that she does not believe in the idea of a man being “snatched” because he’s not an item.

“Total lack of empathy” – Destiny Etiko slams Nigerians trolling Yul Edochie over son’s death

Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has dragged Nigerians who are blaming Yul Edochie for the demise of his kid.

The first son of actor Yul Edochie, Kambilichukwu, allegedly passed away this morning, and the Edochie family is presently in grief.

According to reports, the young boy joined his friends on the football pitch to play a few minutes after his examination was over but he suffered a seizure and fell unconscious.

However, upon reaching the hospital, he was declared dead.

Some Nigerians flocked to the pages of Yul Edochie and his second wife, Judy Austin, after the news of Kamibilichukwu’s passing spread across the country, and blamed the couple for the unfortunate incident.

A distressed man, Sunday Enejo has refused to allow his wife to divorce him because he wants her to first admit that she has been unfaithful.

He requested a Jikwoyi Customary Court in Abuja to refuse to dissolve their marriage until she vows before the holistic god “Aniku” that she was not unfaithful to him.

An entrepreneur, Rose claimed that Enejo was a violent guy who frequently abused her at home.

Enejo, who stood before Justice Labaran Gusau, asserted that he would only let her go after she had sworn to allay his suspicions.

He told the court; “I will not grant my wife divorce until she follows me to the village to swear before “Aniku” that she is not having an extramarital affair.”

According to NAN, the issue was postponed until April 4, 2023.

In other news, a Nigerian man, identified as Joshua Kesena, revealed the lengths he goes to avoid temptations that would lead him to cheat on his wife.

Joshua revealed on Twitter that he used pictures of his wife and children as the wallpaper on all his gadgets to constantly remind him of what is at stake if he cheats.

He also revealed that his wife has access to his email, social media accounts, and phone, so he can’t cheat in private.

Popular actress, Foluke Daramola has reacted to the allegation of her snatching her husband, Kayode Salako, from his ex-wife and allegedly taking over her school.

A Twitter user, Ayinke made the accusation in reaction to Foluke’s post where she lashed out at youths who insulted older people online. Ayinke claimed to have witnessed the incident, which also made news years ago.

In other news, the decision of the Lagos State University (LASU) to open a bakery and begin producing bread in order to increase its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) has elicited mixed reactions on social media.

LASU announced this move via its Twitter handle on Wednesday, March 29, and revealed that their bread will be the only one available on campus going forward.

Nigerian gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo has filed a lawsuit against musician, Obidiz for using her name in a secular song.

In the suit dated March 23, 2023, Chinwo accused Obidiz of disparagingly using her name and picture in a secular music audio and video.

The song in question, titled “Mercy Chinwo,” was released in 2023 and tells the story of a wayward church girl.

He is to tender an apology to Mercy Chinwo, both privately and on social media.

If he doesn’t accede to her requests, a legal dispute will follow, and he will be compelled to pay Mercy Chinwo 2 billion naira in damages for the defamatory use of her name.

“That you immediately CEASE AND DESIST from any further use of the name and image of Our Client in promotion of your music.

4.2 That you take down or cause to be taken down, the song titled “Mercy Chinwo” which you published on be taken down immediately from all music digital platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Sound Cloud and any other platform whereby you made such publication.

4.3 That you take down or cause to be taken down, the promotional video containing the image and clips of Our Client from all social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and any other social media platform where you made such promotion.

4.4 That you immediately make public an apology in writing, addressed to Our Client and publicized on all social media platforms whereby you express a retraction and remorse for the harassment, defamation of character and unauthorized use of Our Client’s name and image.” The suit read in part.

Ghanaian TikTok sensation, Ahuofe Abrantie, popularly known as Tupac, has passed away.

He was reportedly found dead in his apartment in Kumasi, Ghana, on Thursday, March 30.

The circumstances surrounding his death are still sketchy as of the time of filing this report.

However, popular Kumasi rapper, Jay Bhad of Asakaa Boys fame, has seemingly confirmed his death in his recent post on social media.

He shared a video of Ahuofe with a cryptic caption that reads,

“Life too short, rest well Ahuofe, you gone (sic) be miss 4ever.”

Ahuofe became a social media sensation few months ago after videos of him dressed like a ‘gangster’ went viral. His video mimics the personality of late legendary American rapper, Tupac Amaru Shakur.

Until his death, he was famous on TikTok and amassed an impressive 3.9 million followers and over 39.8 million viewers on his Tik Tok’s 217 videos.

Details surrounding the death of Yul Edochie’s son are still unclear, but according to reports, Kambilichukwu slumped while playing football with his friends.

A family member who confirmed the news to Vanguard said the 16-year-old had read throughout the night on Tuesday in preparation for his exams on Wednesday.

A Nigerian clergyman is currently trending on social media after an old video of him prophesying the death of a member of the Edochie family resurfaced.

The clergyman identified as Prophet Samuel King had, during the new year’s service in his church, warned against an impending loss in veteran actor Pete Edochie’s family and asked the family to pray against mourning.

He subsequently shared the prophecy on his Facebook page, writing, “Pray for Nollywood stars, especially the Pete Edochie Family. The arrow of mourning is nearby”.

Self-acclaimed relationship expert, Blessing Okoro, has been arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Alagbon.

The controversial internet personality who recently made headlines over the risque outfit she donned on a date night was arrested at her home this morning.

While it’s still not clear why she was picked up, there are speculations that it’s in connection to popular Lagos businessman IVD and his late wife Bimbo’s case.

Recall that following Bimbo’s death, Blessing Okoro took to social media to throw her weight behind businessman IVD, who has been accused of killing his late wife, Bimbo, by the family.

In a series of posts, Blessing declared that, contrary to the narrative being sold by Bimbo’s family, IVD was the victim of domestic violence in his marriage to Bimbo.

She alleged that Bimbo physically abused her husband several times before her demise and had always threatened to end their lives.

While IVD has already been charged to court by the Lagos State government, Blessing was arrested this morning.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable has queried the Ogun state police command for attempting to arrest him because he ‘disciplined’ his apprentice, Manny Monie.

This comes after Manny Monie, a former signee of his record label Zeh Nation, wrote a petition against him for physically assaulting him and allegedly seizing his studio equipment.

Recall that police officers stormed Portable’s bar in the Sango area of Ogun state to effect his arrest after he refused to honor their invitation on five different occassions, but he resisted the arrest.

Following the ruckus, Manny Monie disclosed that he is the one responsible for Portable’s troubles with the police.

“I was the one that wrote the petition against portable. It is not today we wrote the petition. We wrote it since December last year. The police have tried their possible best. They did not want his name to ‘spoil’ online so they invited him over. They gave him at least three months to say his own side of the story. He beat me, assaulted me, seized my property, made false allegations against me online,” Monie said in a video.

Reacting to this, Portable stated that Manny Monie was his apprentice and he had the right to beat him as a form of disciplinary action.

He said beating his apprentice is not enough reason for the police to arrest him. He also accused his former signee of being a fraudster.

“That boy wey I beat, he’s my boy. I’m a boss to him. Oga go beat apprentice na? That one no mean say make Police come say make dem come arrest you. This boy is my boy. The decision of the Lagos State University (LASU) to open a bakery and begin producing bread in order to increase its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) has elicited mixed reactions on social media.

LASU announced this move via its Twitter handle on Wednesday, March 29, and revealed that their bread will be the only one available on campus going forward.

While the move has been welcomed by some, others have expressed concerns about the priority of the university, arguing that a university’s primary focus should be on research and education.

Some others queried the university management for chasing out other bread competitors in the school in order to have a monopoly.

The school shared a photo of the school’s Vice Chancellor showcasing the bread and wrote,

Davido releases tracklist for his upcoming album ‘Timeless’; signs two new artistes (video)

Nigerian superstar singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has unveiled the tracklist for his much-anticipated upcoming album ‘Timeless’.

The announcement was made alongside the introduction of two new artistes, Moravey and Logos Olori, who have been signed to his record label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).

The album, which is set to be released on Friday March 31, will feature guest appearances from Beninese-French singer, Angelique Kidqo, The Cavemen, Asake, Skepta, Focalistic and Fave, as well as the new DMW signees.

Davido has always been know for his ability to fuse different sounds and genres, and the 17-track project looks set to continue this trend.

The singer, in collaboration with Spotify, posted a video announcing the official tracklist and wrote, “It’s almost time! I bring to you the official tracklist for my upcoming album #TIMELESS, with Spotify.”

Popular Instagram skit maker Ganiyu Kehinde, better known as Ijoba Lande, has been found after he was declared missing.

His wife had taken to social media on Monday, March 27, to raise alarm about his whereabouts.

She claimed he left their house without his phone on Sunday night, March 26, and nothing had been heard from him ever since.

“This is to inform the public that IJOBA LANDE left home to an unknown destination on 26th of march around 9:00 pm and up till now we can find him.

“We have reported the case at the nearest police station and with their help they help us to send signal to radio station please if you noticed anthing you can dm his account or @ijesaekun.

“He left his phone at home after breaking his fasting on 26th that was the last time we heard from him”, she captioned a video that was shared in his Instagram page.
