A Nigerian woman, Janet Jegede has been remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre, Afao Road, Ado Ekiti for murdering her husband.

An Ekiti State High Court in Ado Ekiti ordered that she be detained as a criminal lunatic after she was accused of stabbing her husband because she believed he was unceasingly having extramarital affairs.

The charge sheet read “that Janet Jegede (36) on 17th November, 2019 at Ado Ekiti within the jurisdiction of this honorable court, did murder one Jegede Kayode,(Her husband) contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Law, Cap C16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.”

In a statement provided to the authorities, the stepson Jegede Ayomide stated;

“I received a call from my stepmother informing me to come home to take my father to the hospital. When I got home, I met my father in the pool of his own blood, gasping for breath. I saw a knife hung in his chest. I asked her what happened, but her explanation was incoherent.
When I removed the knife, the bleeding increased. I went outside to call other neighbours to help me take him to the hospital. He was rushed to Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
My step mother once asked me to warn my father to stop cheating on her. She threatened to kill him. I took it as an empty threat until she killed my father.”

Olowoyo-Richard Ayobami, the prosecution, summoned five witnesses and produced statements from the defendant, a knife, pictures of the deceased’s lifeless corpse, and witness statements as evidence.

The defendant’s attorney, Emmanuel Adedeji, pleaded with the court to release and acquit the defendant on the grounds of lunacy, claiming that the defendant was psychologically unstable at the time of the incident.

According to Justice Bamidele Omotoso;

“It is settled that where a plea of insanity succeeds, the defendant will be ordered to be confined in a prescribed place to await further order of the appropriate authority.
I hereby order that the defendant, Janet Jegede, be kept in custody as a criminal lunatic at Correctional Services Centre, off Afao Road, Ado Ekiti until the governor’s pleasure be known in line with Section 223 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2011.”

The wife of popular Instagram content creator, Ijoba Lande, who went missing days ago, has addressed allegations that she pressured her husband into depression.

Recall that Ijoba Lande, who returned home yesterday after four days of being declared missing by his family, revealed this morning that he was battling depression while debunking claims that he was kidnapped.

Speaking on his sudden disappearance, Lande said that he was not kidnapped but left his house himself.

He expressed gratitude to his fans, followers, and colleagues for their efforts while he was away and noted that depression is real.

Although he did not go into detail about where he had gone, he prayed for everyone who was concerned for his well-being that they would not go through a predicament that would make them consider ending it all.

Meanwhile, amid the saga, some social media users accused Lande’s wife of being the reason he’s depressed and frustrated.

Some even claimed that she brought her children from a previous relationship into their union, and the responsibilities became too much for him.

The medical doctor, Kadev Kenneth Kelvin, who was held in custody for alleged cyberstalking has retracted his accusation and issued a public apology to the aggrieved party.

On Tuesday, Kadev was placed in custody at the Federal Correctional Complex in Makurdi by a Benue State Magistrate Court.

According to reports, the accused published a Facebook post on March 12, 2023, where he claimed to have stitched the lacerated anus of Bemgba Iortyom, the Peoples Democratic Party’s publicity officer for Benue State after the latter was reportedly sodomized in an Abuja jail in 2017.

In the Facebook post that followed the event, Dr. Kadev asserted that he had never encountered the complainant in person and had never had any surgical procedures done on him.

He wrote;

“PUBLIC APOLOGY Earlier today, I had an altercations with Mr. Bemgba Iortyom, who have been writing malicious posts on the person of my principal and spiritual guardian, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia PhD. We exchanged words and insults,” he wrote.
I have received many calls from friends and associates that I went overboard. I want to make it public and categorically clear that my words were mere insults and lack substance. Remember, when two people insult each other, they say things that they don’t really mean. Insults are not meant to please anyone.
I have never seen Mr. Bemgba Iortyom in life except on this medium, and never perform any surgery on him. I regret my actions for condescending to exchange such words and ask that you all look beyond this lapses on my part. It is not in my character.
For Mr. Iortyom, I have equally forgiven him and all he said, and I call on him to do same. We are humans and not above mistakes. Thank you all. Kadev Kenneth Kevin.”

Medical doctor remanded for revealing sensitive information about a patient on Facebook

A medical doctor, Kadev Kenneth Kelvin, has been detained at the federal prison in Makurdi because of disparaging remarks he posted online about an individual he claimed to be his patient.

The accused was reported to have made a Facebook post on March 12, 2023 where he revealed that he stitched the lacerated anus of the Benue State publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bemgba Iortyom, after he was sodomized in Abuja prison in 2017.

After Dr. Kadev made the shocking post, the Nigerian Medical Association, Benue State Branch, released a statement to condemn his actions.

The first information report by the police reads;

“On the 13/03/2023, a criminal petition was received by the Commissioner of Police written by D.K Iorhemba and Co as Barrister and Solicitors on behalf of Bemgba Iortyom, the PDP Publicity Secretary, Benue State, stating that one Kadev Kenneth Kelvin, a medical doctor who works at Kadev Health Systems Services of No.9 opposite Holy Covenant, Otukpo Road, Makurdi.
The report further revealed that the named doctor had made damaging comments about Bemgba on 12/03/2023 at about 11pm while chatting with one Gabriel Terungwa Shange.
He was reported to have said ‘my brother, if Bemgba Iortyom wants to go dirty, just inform me, the day he found out that, I was the medical doctor that stitched his lacerated anus when he was sodomized in Abuja prison in 2017 he blocked me’.”

The medical specialist was detained after their inquiry, according to the authorities, and he admitted to committing the stated offense.

The Cyber Crimes Prohibition and Prevention Act of 2015’s provision 24(1)(a)(b)(i) is violated, according to the authorities. No plea was accepted when the matter was brought up due to lack of authority.

Inspector S. O. Itodo, the police investigator, told the court that the issue was still under review. He requested a new date so that the prosecution could present its case.

News of the death of Yul Edochie’s first child with his wife, May hit the internet on Thursday, March 31. The 16-year-old is said to have slumped while playing ball with his friends at school.

Reacting to the tragic news, in a video he shared on social media, Uche Maduagwu argued that the incident was spiritual.

According to Hundeyin, contrary to reports that the 16-year-old died in the presence of his parents, he died at school.

“The state’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed this in a chat with newsmen, said the police have begun an investigation into the incident.

He just reported the case and we have begun investigation. By tomorrow (Friday) it will be transferred to state CID. We will investigate what killed the boy. They have to do an autopsy and know what happened to him,” he said.

“We can’t tell you what happened to him now until an autopsy is conducted, but the incident happened in the school.” Hundeyin said.

Speaking on his sudden disappearance, Lande said that he was not kidnapped but left his house himself.

He expressed gratitude to his fans, followers, and colleagues for their efforts while he was away and noted that depression is real.

Although he did not go into detail about where he had gone, he prayed for everyone who was concerned for his well-being that they would not go through a predicament that would make them consider ending it all.

“I appreciate everyone. They said almost everyone posted. I want to tell everyone that depression is real and I want to tell the whole world that nobody kidnapped me. I did it intentionally but thank God I am back.” He said in part.

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has finally spoken publicly on the deaths of his son, Ifeanyi; his close aide, Obama DMW; and others close to him.

In a recent interview with Beat FM about his new album ‘Timeless’, Davido discussed how losing his close friends and family have affected him.

The music superstar, who released the 17-track album on Friday March 31, revealed that he dedicated a song in the album to his deceased loved ones.

The song “LCND,” which stands for “Legends Can Never Die,” is a tribute to those he has lost, including his late mother and son, because they were all legends.

Recall that the singer’s first son, Ifeanyi, died in a drowning incident in his Banana Island home in Lagos on October 31st, 2022.

According to Davido, even though they are all dead and gone, he can still feel their presence around him spiritually. He said he doesn’t feel like they have left him.

The singer also asserted that the song is for everyone out there who has lost a close friend or relative to the cold hands of death.

He further stated that ‘LCND’ is the oldest song on the album and was recorded 2 years ago in Los Angeles, but it’s timeless.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has broken his silence on the death of his grandson, Kambilichukwu Edochie.

The news of the death of the 16-year-old son of actor Yul Edochie and his first wife, May, sent shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry and the Ngerian webspace yesterday, March 30.

Kambilichukwu Edochie, who just turned 16 in January 2023, is said to have slumped and developed a seizure while playing football with his friends on Wednesday, March 29.

He was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. Read here.

Reacting to the sad news in a chat with Vanguard, Pete Edochie described Kambilichukwu as a brilliant, unusual child who excelled in everything.

The grandfather said that it was unfortunate that his grandson died while he had shown great promise.

“Kambilinachukwu is a very quiet, brilliant and talented child. He’s not somebody you can ride easily. He doesn’t get angry no matter the situation.

He may change his composure, but he was definitely a very unusual person in so many respects.

“He was so accomplished. I always tell my son that I don’t like people excelling like this in any thing they are involved in. Experience has taught me that such people don’t last long.” He said.

Popular Ghanaian singer, Shatta Wale, has appealed to the president-elect of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to take him as his adopted son.

Shatta Wale made this request in a post shared via his Twitter handle on Thursday, March 31. According to him, a lot of people say he looks like the newly elected president of Nigeria, so he wants him to accept him as his son.

The singer, who referred to Tinubu as his “dad,” pleaded with him to come and get him from Ghana, and promised to entertain him with one of his songs.

Nigerian super star singer, Wizkid’s baby mama, Jada P, has faced heavy criticism from Nigerians on social media for promoting her baby daddy’s album “More Love, Less Ego” on the release day of Davido’s new album.

Fans, followers, and colleagues alike had been anticipating the release of singer Davido’s fourth studio album, “Timeless,” since he gave the release date as March 31 following his return to social media a few days ago.

However, only hours before the release date, Davido’s colleague, Wizkid’s baby mama, Jada P, who doubles as his manager, took to Twitter to promote his “More Love, Less Ego” album, which was released in November last year.

“Move Love, Less Ego”, Jada P wrote in a now deleted tweet.

This did not sit well with fans and followers of 30 BG boss Davido, who immediately called her out and dragged her to shreds for the tweet.

Following a long musical hiatus, the 30 BG boss returned to the music scene with this master piece. The 17-track album features Nigerian and international artistes, including Asake, Fave, Focalistic, and Angelique Kidjo, among others.

Controversial actress, Esther Nwachukwu has berated actor Yul Edochie’s first wife, May, for refusing to forgive him after he married a second wife.

Recall that Yul Edochie announced in April 2022 that he had married and welcomed a child with his colleague, Judy Austin-Edochie.

This infuriated his first wife, May, who expressed her displeasure with his decision to take a second wife and stated that she will not be forced to accept polygamy.

She wrote in part, “To reaffirm my stands, I will not be cajoled into accepting polygamy, which goes against my beliefs, faith, and values. I will not be numbered in a home that we started building with love, faith, tears, hopes, and prayers in a Catholic marriage of 18 years following a long term premarital relationship.”

Sadly, May Edochie lost her first son with her husband, Kambilichukwu, 16, to the cold hands of death on Thursday, May 30.

Esther took to social media after the death of the young boy to criticize May for not forgiving her husband and allowing peace to reign when he married Judy.

She accused the bereaved mother of looking for an exit strategy before the second wife saga and seizing the opportunity when he married Judy.

According to her, the now mother of three pulled the pity card and used her husband’s shortcoming to enrich herself, instead of sticking by him for better or worse.

A South African prophetess, Jeslynn, has advised wives to support and stand by their husbands, regardless of their behavior or decisions.

According to her, husbands are the heads of their households, and it is the biblical duty of wives to obey and honor them, even when they are wrong or drunk.
