Boxer allegedly punches his brother-in-law to death in Edo

A boxer identified as Scott Eguabor has gone on the run after allegedly punching his brother-in-law, Sunday Okoro, to death in Benin City, Edo State.

It was gathered that Sunday was attempting to end a domestic dispute between the boxer and his wife, who happened to be the deceased’s, junior sister.

According to Nigerian Tribune, the event reportedly occurred on March 19, 2023, at Erie Street, off Sokponba Road, Benin City, one week after the boxer allegedly assaulted a Pastor following a dispute over a security fee.

Eguabor, a Coach in charge of Boxing in Edo State Ministry of Sports Council and Head of the State Security Network in Erie and its environs, allegedly fled his home after committing the crime, barely one month after the victim’s wife gave birth.

Osahon Okoro-Obaraye, an eyewitness, reported that Eguabor severely injured Okoro’s eyes and nostrils.

He explained that Sunday, who could barely mutter, suddenly slumped and gave up the ghost, and upon sensing danger, the alleged murderer fled immediately.

Okoro-Obaraye recalled how Eguabor harassed locals in Erie and the surrounding area with guns while wearing the toga of the Edo State Vigilante Network, Aruosa Command, close to the intersection of Igbesamwan street.

An upset Okoro-Obaraye also disclosed that after collapsing, he drove Sunday to several hospitals in Benin for immediate medical care, but Sunday was later determined to be dead by the medical staff.

He claimed that Eguabor also dealt with a number of neighbors, including a priest who, fortunately, was saved by members of his church after the suspect assaulted him.

When the suspect’s wife got into an altercation with her husband late on Saturday, March 18, 2023, Okoro-Obaraye claimed she called her older brother, who resides in Upper Sokponba Road, to come to her assistance.

Aisha Fatty allegedly dragged to court by former fiancé, demands refund of money and gifts he gave her during their engagement

Popular Gambian socialite, Aisha Fatty has been sued by her former fiancé, Senegalese-Gambian business tycoon, Abdoulaye Thiam, to reimburse all of the money and presents he gave her while they were engaged.

Aisha, a former State House protocol officer who was born to Gambian and Egyptian parents, once wed player Tijan Jaiteh, but their union did not last long.

The Standard Newspaper Gambia reported on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, that Aisha suddenly called off the engagement and vanished after getting millions of Dalasi from the business magnate.

The court documents state that a Senegalese woman, Myam Siam, introduced Abdoulaye to Aisha in Dakar, whereupon they started a cordial relationship.

The lawsuit claims that Abdoulaye and Aisha started dating later on and that he then proposed to her and started making wedding plans.

According to the statement of claim, the two traveled to Dubai together before the planned marriage and the plaintiff (Abdoulaye Thiam) paid US$ 100,000.00 for their wedding arrangements there.

They also traveled to Paris, where Abdoulaye claimed to have spent an additional 100,000 euros on luxury watches and luggage. The statement of claim states that an additional US $50,000.00 was provided to Aisha Fatty so she could purchase African clothing in Nigeria.

The statement also revealed that Abdoulaye has been providing Aisha with D180,000.00 per month for support since their planned nuptials.

However, despite all of Abdoulaye’s planning and spending in expectation of his marriage to Aisha, she declined to proceed with the ceremony, which was set to take place in December 2021.
The complainant, Aboulaye, also claimed in the lawsuit that Aisha Fatty received payments totaling D19,500,000.00 and Euro150,000.00 for the development of a villa at Fajara Waterfront and a three-story building complex, respectively, in the Gambia.

Additionally, Abdoulaye is asserting that CFA 822,000,000.00 was used to buy gold that was provided to Aisha for business purposes.

The plaintiff is also asking for a statement that a black Mercedes Benz GLE63 Braubus with the license plate BJL 4222W is actually his, or, in the alternative, for the amount of Euro 200.000.00, which is the car’s worth.

He is also seeking a court declaration that he is the bonafide owner of a white Mercedes Benz GLE 53 car with registration Number BJL 0999W or in the alternative the sum of US$102,000.00, being the value of the car.

The claim statement also stated that Aisha’s reluctance to proceed with the planned wedding resulted in significant financial losses for the plaintiff as well as humiliation among family, friends, and acquaintances who were properly invited to their nuptials.

According to the report, Abdoulaye is psychologically troubled by Aisha’s purported disappointment and will continue to experience reputational and financial harm if the matter is not settled in his favor.

The Inspector General of Police is also included in the suit because the cars are currently under the custody of the police.

While Aisha Fatty has still not gotten the hearing notice, the court has independently verified that the IGP has been served with it.

Popular Nigerian singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, professionally known as Ayra Starr, has revealed that she graduated from the university at age 18.

The “Sability” star made this revelation during a recent chat with Nairobi News.

According to Ayra Starr, her music career did not start until she was 18 years old because her mother insisted she get a degree first.

She said she wrote the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in SS2, a year before she was supposed to finish secondary school, and she aced it.

She later gained admission to study International Relations and Political Science in the Benin Republic, and since it was a three-year course, she graduated at 18.

Speaking further, Ayra said that she intends to further her education, but she has been really busy, so for now she is taking French classes, piano lessons, and music lessons.

Social media commentator, Solomon Buchi has advised against sexual intercourse between unmarried partners.

Taking to Facebook, Solomon Buchi averred that premarital intercourse is not normal, not fun, and represents human depravity.

A Nigerian journalist has disclosed that he refused to lend a male bank customer his pen because he was wearing a leg chain and earrings.

George Odok Jr, a Senior correspondent with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), made this revelation on Facebook.

According to him, the man approached him in the bank and asked for his pen to fill his teller. However, when he saw the man’s mode of dressing, he blatantly told him “NO”.

He wrote,

“I saw a guy inside the bank, he wore a leg chain and other earrings, he approached me and appealed to use my pen to fill his teller; I told him to his face that I won’t give him my pen.”

This didn’t sit well with a lot of people and he was heavily criticized and called ‘judgemental’ for failing to borrow the man his pen over his adornment.

Big Brother Naija season 7 winner, Phyna, has seemingly broken her silence amid rumours that she assaulted her ex-lover, Groovy.

It all started after some social media users took to micro-blogging platform Twitter to allege that Phyna and her ex-lover Groovy, who met on the BBNaija reality TV show, recently had an altercation where Phyna slapped Groovy.

Speaking on the alleged altercation during a Twitter space, they claimed Phyna slapped Groovy because he secretly went to make a deal that was meant for both of them.

According to them, a brand had reached out to the pair to sign a deal as a couple with the signature name ‘Groophy,” but Groovy was said to have declined.

Nollywood actor and politician, Olumide Oworu, has finally spoken out after his name was omitted from the ballot papers during the Lagos State House of Assembly election.

Olumide, a Labour Party candidate, contested for the Surulere Constituency seat in the Saturday, March 18 election, but his name was not on the ballot paper.

He however lost the election to his colleague in the entertainment industry, Desmond Elliot of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received the highest votes.

Olumide has now released an official statement to address the controversy surrounding his participation in the election.

He insisted that he was not chasing clout, and blamed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for failing to obey a court order issued on February 2, directing them to open its website for Labour party to submit the names of its candidates or accept manual submission.

He wrote in part:

“Regarding the authenticity of my candidacy and my name not appearing on the ballot, that is a situation that came about due to the failure of the INEC to comply with the subsisting judgment of the Federal High Court delivered on the 2nd of February 2023 in Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/2115/2022 wherein INEC was ordered to open her website to allow the labour party to submit the list of her candidates or accept the same manually immediately. INEC failed to upload the names on the list sent by the Labour Party in October 2022. I assure you that this endeavour was not one for clout but was borne out of a genuine desire for change.”

A young South African lady has taken to TikTok to share her breakup story after being dumped by her boyfriend of four years.

The 19-year-old, who is heartbroken and traumatized by the breakup, stated that she believed he was her soulmate until he left her for someone else.

According to her, she is currently battling depression and feels extremely lonely at times, but thankfully, her mother has been incredibly supportive.

She said she had to take a gap year to heal from the heartbreak, rather than study law in the university, and now she feels like she is wasting time by staying at home.

She posted a video of herself and wrote,

“I’m 19, I’m currently healing from a 4 year relationship with a guy I thought was my soulmate but ended up leaving me for someone else..

“This year I was supposed to be studying law but ended up taking a gap year which I’m really starting to hate. Everyday feels the same and i feel like wasting my last teenage years at home.! suffer from anxiety sometimes depression depending on my pmdd.

“Some days can be incredibly lonely and stressful but I’m happy when my moms here she’s truly the only person who keeps me going.”

A Nigerian man has shared his encounter with a lady who requested for money to buy fuel after only a few hours of getting to know each other.

Taking to Twitter, the man with the handle @busayootebata, revealed that the beautiful lady slid into his Instagram DM and struck up a conversation with him.

However, he was taken aback when the lady asked for money to buy fuel so she could charge her phone, which she claimed was running low, after barely 24 hours of chatting.

He was surprised by her request and questioned if she only reached out to him to beg for money, because it makes no logical sense to do so after only a few hours of knowing someone.

He then took to Twitter to share a screenshot of their conversation and suggested that such women be exposed from henceforth.

In a now-deleted tweet, the young man wrote,

A Businessman has taken to social media to reveal how a male client offered him N1 million to have sexual relations with him.

The phone dealer, identified as @omonna14 on Twitter, shared screenshots of his conversation with the said client, who pretended to be interested in purchasing a phone in order to get his attention.

The client, who is clearly gay, apparently saw a picture of the businessman online and became interested in him, so he slid into his DMs to inquire about an iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Upon realizing that his plan has failed, the client came clean about his true intentions, and revealed that he fell in love with him at first sight.

He also offered to buy the phone at a higher price if the businessman agrees to come to his house in Lekki, Lagos. He further shared a photo of his male member to seemingly entice him.

Bamboolzed by the client’s audacity, the businessman lambasted him and blocked his contact.

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to share her beautiful love story years after getting married to her family friend, who she couldn’t stand as a child.

According to the lady, simply identified as “Ay,” their mothers were best friends, so she and her husband have known each other since they were kids.

She said that although their mothers were so close that one could mistake one for a twin, she and her husband could barely tolerate each other at the time.

To corroborate her claim, she shared a throwback photo from when they were kids, which showed her husband looking at her angry because their mothers insisted he stood close to her in the photo.

Well, it’s interesting that despite not liking each other as kids, they have been married for seven years now and their union blessed with three kids.

“That first picture… he was low key feeling me 😅. I remember this day all too well. I had been crying because I hated my hairstyle and my mom wouldn’t let me wear one of her wigs. Hubby on the other hand was upset because his mom had asked him to stand beside me for the picture 😂😂 You guys, we couldn’t stand each other when we were little.

Controversial Anambra-based pastor, Chuwkuemeka Ohanere, popularly known as Odumeje, has revealed that he has completed his sojourn on earth and will die soon.

A video of the heartwarming moment an aged Nigerian couple returned to Nigeria after spending 25 years in the United States has gone viral.

The video was posted on TikTok by a lady who revealed that the couple, who are her grandparents, have been helping to care for her and her siblings while their parents work.

Nneoma said her grandparents have been married for 62 years and have been shuttling between Nigeria and the United States, but it’s time for them to return home permanently.

They threw a farewell party for the elderly couple a few months before their departure date, and invited their close friends to celebrate with them.

The video also shows the touching moment the couple were packing their belongings, and said their goodbyes as they were dropped off at the airport.
