Euracare Hospital denies allegations of medical negligence following the de@th of Nigerian author Chimamanda Adichie’s 21-month-old son while he was in their care (IMAGE)

Euracare Hospital, the hospital allegedly responsible for the death of Renowned Nigerian Author Chimamanda Adichie’s son, due to their medical negligence, denies any such accusations.

They recently released a statement addressing the situation, expressing their condolences to the Adichie family, while simultaneously absolving themselves of any responsibility in their son’s passing.

Defending their reputation, they claimed that they had done all they could for the couple’s son, who, according to them, was critically ill.

They had provided him with the best of care they could offer and, in collaboration with the family, done all they could to ensure that he was properly cared for. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the boy tragically passed.

The statement read;

We extend our deepest sympathies to Chimamanda Adichie and family on the demise of their son and acknowledge the profound and unimaginable loss they are experiencing during this deeply distressing time. The loss of a child is beyond words, and we offer our most heartfelt condolences to his parents and the entire family.

We find it necessary, for the record, to clarify that some of the reports currently being circulated contain inaccuracies.

Our facility is a reputable centre for complex medical care, led by an internationally trained and experienced clinical team. The patient, who was critically ill, was referred to our facility for specific diagnostic procedures after receiving treatment for a period of time at two paediatric centres. Upon arrival, our medical team immediately provided care in line with established clinical protocols and internationally accepted medical standards, including the administration of sedation where clinically indicated.

In the course of his care, we worked collaboratively with external medical teams as recommended by his family and ensured that all necessary clinical support was provided. Despite these concerted efforts, the patient sadly passed away less than 24 hours after presenting at our facility.

We remain committed to engaging transparently and responsibly with all clinical and regulatory processes. We recognise that the family is grieving an irreplaceable loss, and we shall continue to support them in any way that may bring comfort during this devastating period.

As medical professionals, we carry the weight of this loss deeply. Our priority remains compassion, patient safety, and the responsible handling of this matter, while respecting the family’s privacy and allowing due process to take its course. We continue to hold the family in our thoughts and prayers.”

To ensure that they are free from suspicion, they announced that they have launched a detailed investigation into the incident, in compliance with government standards and best practices.

Chimamanda Adichie and Husband, Ivara Esege, Issues Legal Notice to Euracare Hospital Over Alleged Role in Her Son’s Passing

Following the passing of their 21-month-old son, renowned Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and her husband, Ivara Esege, have issued a legal notice to Euracare Hospital for their negligence and role in causing his death.

The notice was issued on January 10, 2026, by the law firm of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kemi Pinheiro, on behalf of the couple.

In the notice, they accused Euracare, its anesthesiologist, and attending medical staff of medical negligence and breach of duty of care, which ultimately resulted in the untimely death of their 21-month-old son.

The toddler passed away in the early hours of January 7, 2026, after undergoing multiple procedures at the hospital, including an echocardiogram, brain MRI, lumbar puncture, and the insertion of a central line, as part of preparations for a planned medical evacuation to the United States.

According to the Adichies’, the toddler’s death was a result of complications that the child developed after he was sedated and transferred within the hospital.

They accused the hospital of poor monitoring, improper drug administration, lack of adequate oxygen support, insufficient medical personnel, delayed response to distress, and concerns over informed consent and resuscitation equipment.

Formally requesting that the hospital provide certified copies of all medical records relating to their son’s treatment within seven days, and warned against any tampering or destruction of evidence.

As of now, while the hospital has yet to formally respond to Adichie’s legal notice, it has publicly denied any wrongdoing, stating that it did all it could for the boy, who they claim was already critically ill at the time he was brought to the hospital.

Special Adviser to the President, Bayo Onanuga, defends the alleged “AI- Image” shared by the Presidency earlier today.

The Special Advisor to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has officially issued a statement addressing the concerns of Nigerians over a photograph shared on the President’s official X account.

The image, which featured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a meeting with Rwandan President Paul Kagame, quickly went viral after claims that it was “AI-Generated” started circulating online.

The rumours started when users noticed a small ‘Grok Watermark’ in the right-hand corner of the photograph. A watermark, which many pointed out, was usually present in images generated by the AI tool, Grok.

Due to the widespread allegations of AI use by the Presidency, Onanuga, had to release an official statement debunking said claims.

He explained that the Image was real, and was taken during a meeting in Paris between President Tinubu and the Rwandan president. H further explained that the AI tool was only used to enhance the quality of the image.

He stated,

STOP PRESS! The narrative that the picture of Presidents Bola Tinubu and Paul Kagame taken in Paris yesterday was AI generated is not correct.

The media report and social media comments that followed are misrepresentation of facts. The picture is real and not AI generated as claimed.

Both President Kagame and President Tinubu met in Paris had lunch together on Sunday (yesterday).

The two leaders later had dinner with President Macron same yesterday evening. The picture was taken with a phone and obviously had poor quality.

The photographer only later used grok to improve the picture quality. That is not a reason to conclude it was AI generated. The writer or editor should have asked questions before this wrong conclusion.”

Wizkid’s baby mama, Jada Pollock has sparked conversation online after reacting to a post by an American rapper Coi Leray on X (Twitter), where she described side relationships as destructive.

Quoting the post, she shared her thoughts on what she described as a troubling trend among women, expressing concern over the growing acceptance of being involved as a ‘side chick’.

She stated that such situations are often rooted in unresolved emotional trauma and self-deception.

She emphasized that no one can truly be comfortable in such arrangements over time.

In her words, “It’s disheartening to see so many women in our generation feeling that it’s acceptable to be in that state. There’s so much inner trauma that needs healing. No one can truly be okay with it over time—emotions and feelings run deep. It’s time to stop deceiving yourself!!!”

Mixed reaction as widow remarries months after her husband’s dǝath

A newly wed couple holds each other in the late afternoon...

A post circulating on X (Twitter) has ignited debates after a man shared his reaction to the marriage of his former employer’s widow just months after the businessman’s death.

According to the post, the deceased man, described as wealthy and influential, was buried approximately six months ago.

The writer expressed surprise that the widow has since remarried, noting that she has three children from her late husband: a son who has completed his university degree and two daughters still in higher education.

The post questions the motivation behind the remarriage, emphasizing the family’s financial stability and suggesting that the decision raises concerns, though no evidence of wrongdoing was provided.

The writer also claimed that the late businessman’s family declined to accept a refund of the bride price reportedly offered by the new husband, a gesture that has further fueled public debate online.

The post concluded with a broader reflection. Framing the situation as an example of life’s perceived unfairness and urging men to prioritize their health and well-being.

Below are some of the posts;

“The woman tried and stay unto 6 months so respect her, my landlord the woman his married now came on the day of the wife’s burial and never left as am talking to you they are married it was not up to 2 months and he’s living his life to the fullness.”

“Are you kidding me? Almost every man I know whose wife died remarried. Tf is wrong with y’all?”

“Men can remarry 6 month after, there’s nothing suspicious but if a woman remarried, suspicion arrives. Una weldone. If she goes on sexing a man without marrying them, una go still talk. The man is rich? So, a family’s wealth only belongs to the man? Please my brother, people should leave married couples alone.”

Riggs London and Confetti London Founder Ori Leslau on Building Fragrance Brands for a Global Market

Ori Leslau Riggs Confetti

Fragrance entrepreneur Ori Leslau has always believed that scent is inseparable from identity. Long before founding Riggs London and Confetti London, he understood fragrance as a carrier of memory, emotion, and self-expression.

Growing up in London, Leslau’s earliest associations with scent were deeply personal, the eucalyptus fragrance in his grandmother’s living room, his grandfather’s aftershave, his parents’ signature perfumes. Even strangers left impressions through scent alone.

“Every fragrance told a story about the person wearing it,” he says.

That understanding became the foundation for Riggs London and Confetti London, two brands created to make fragrance expressive, accessible, and culturally relevant. While rooted in a modern British aesthetic, both brands were designed to resonate globally, premium in feel, but approachable in price and attitude.

Ori Leslau Riggs Confetti

Leslau’s connection to Nigeria began with his first visit to Lagos.

“From the moment I arrived, I felt the energy of the city,” he recalls. “It was vibrant, fast-moving, and full of confidence. It immediately felt like a place where these brands could belong.”

Nigeria would soon emerge as one of the brands’ strongest markets in West Africa. Entering the region, however, required more than exporting product. Leslau notes that success depended on understanding consumer behaviour, adapting marketing language, stabilising supply chains, and ensuring wide distribution, challenges navigated with the support of local partner Bivon Ventures.

Under the leadership of Madam Bibiana Okeke, Bivon Ventures secured exclusive distribution rights for the brands in Nigeria, and West Africa. Leslau credits the partnership with enabling rapid market penetration and local relevance.

“Nigeria’s consumers are deeply engaged with fragrance,” he says. “There is a willingness to experiment and a strong belief in scent as part of everyday self-care.”

That insight has shaped the brands’ product strategy. Fragrances are developed with specific market preferences in mind, combining popular notes with bold packaging and distinct British branding. Riggs London presents a confident, refined identity, while Confetti London leans youthful and expressive. Both, however, share a focus on quality and accessibility.

Scaling at speed has required disciplined decision-making. Leslau points to strategic pricing, clear brand positioning, nationwide availability, and market-led innovation as key factors behind the brands’ growth across Nigeria.

As a founder, Leslau sees confidence and conviction as central to his leadership philosophy, and reflected in the brands themselves.

“Confidence to express who you are, and conviction in who you’ve chosen to become,” he says.

Looking ahead, Leslau’s focus in West Africa is on deepening access and relevance. Expansion plans include broader distribution, new product launches, and further integration into local consumer culture, with Nigerian customers increasingly shaping the brands’ direction.

Beyond commercial growth, community impact has become a defining pillar of the brands’ presence in Nigeria. Riggs London and Confetti London have committed to reinvesting a portion of their profits into education-focused initiatives.

In 2026, the brands will launch the ‘I CAN, YOU CAN’ campaign nationwide, committing funds from every product sold in Nigeria toward supporting different Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR),especially in education.

“Education changes trajectories,” Leslau says. “When one child succeeds, it affects entire families and communities.”

As Riggs London and Confetti London continue to expand across West Africa, Leslau’s approach remains consistent: build brands that feel personal, culturally aware, and anchored in purpose, where fragrance is not just worn, but experienced.

“Detty December is not worth the risk” – Oyemykke warns Nigerians in America (VIDEO)

Media personality Oyemykke has issued a warning to Nigerians living in the United States who are planning to travel home for the annual Detty December festivities.

In a recent message shared online, Oyemykke claimed he received information suggesting that Nigerians returning from the U.S. without an American passport could face challenges re-entering the country after the holidays.

Although he noted that he could not fully verify the claim, he said the potential risk was serious enough to warrant public attention.

According to him, individuals whose travel documents are not U.S. passports may want to reconsider their travel plans to avoid complications that could prevent them from returning to America to resume work, studies, or reunite with their families.

Oyemykke further downplayed the excitement surrounding Detty December, describing it as largely characterised by heavy traffic, noise, and overcrowded events.

He argued that the experience is not worth risking one’s immigration status or long-term future abroad, urging Nigerians abroad to carefully weigh their decisions and prioritise stability and security over seasonal celebrations.

Below are some of the comments;

What is he even saying? Did you enter America illegally? Don’t you have your papers?

I don’t understand o. With the insecurity and kidnapping, I just dey wonder why some people dey go back to Nigeria.

American man lamǝnts as new US travel ban blocks his Nigerian wife from joining him (WATCH)

An American man, identified as Chris, has spoken out after a new U.S. presidential travel ban reportedly left his Nigerian wife unable to join him in the United States.

In a video shared online, Chris explained that he has been married to his wife, Adenike, for over a year and a half, and that they have been waiting since May 2024 for her immigrant visa interview.

However, following the recent presidential proclamation, he says her chances of entering the United States have now become extremely unlikely.

According to him, the new policy halts the issuance of immigrant visas to spouses from affected countries, including Nigeria.

He noted that while previous travel bans largely targeted non-immigrant visas such as student, business, and tourist visas, family-based immigrant visas were previously exempt.

Chris revealed that his wife has never visited the United States, never met most of his relatives, and has never seen the country she is expected to call home.

Adding that many Americans underestimate how difficult and emotionally draining the legal immigration process can be.

The couple, who have known each other for five years, have never been able to live together in the U.S., and Chris fears the latest development has made reunification almost impossible.

He explained that he has continued to share videos about their experience to draw attention to what he describes as the plight of hundreds of thousands of families stuck in prolonged immigration processes.

A Nigerian lawyer has sparked reactions online after sharing a humorous post about a client who initiated divorce proceedings but still wants to spend the Christmas holidays with her husband.

In a tweet shared on X (formerly Twitter), the lawyer revealed that after collecting a consultation fee to initiate the divorce process, the client surprisingly inquired if it would be appropriate to spend Christmas with her husband.

The post, which was laced with sarcasm, quickly gained attention on social media, with many users finding it amusing, while others debated whether emotional attachment often lingers even after a decision to end a marriage.

Below are some of the comments;

“This is just like the couple that filled for divorce and showed up in court wearing matching outfits, same fabric, same style, perfectly coordinated.”

“Marital issues erh. You play small you go be third person. This one after they spend the Christmas together, dem go discuss you.”

“I once came across a thread of divorce lawyers and their experience with couples and from what I gathered , most of them are not even ready to go through with it deep down.”

“Before he even went to the station, he told me he must apologize. He went to her place, knelt down, and was begging her seriously, saying he was sorry.” He said

According to Joblaq, Peller’s apology came shortly after he survived a recent car crash, an experience that reportedly made him reflect on his actions and relationships.

The revelation has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many commending Peller for swallowing his pride and taking responsibility, while others continue to debate the events that led to the public apology.

“This is why near-death experiences change people. I hope Jarvis forgives him for her own peace.”

“Public apology or not, some things shouldn’t be turned into content. They both need privacy.”

“Apart from African Queen video, we’ve never been together” – Yvonne Jegede clears the air on friendship rumours with Annie Idibia.

Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has finally addressed long-standing rumours suggesting a close relationship between her and Annie Idibia, firmly dismissing the claims as untrue.

Speaking during an interview on NaijaFM 102.7, Yvonne clarified that her only interaction with Annie Idibia was during the shoot of 2Face Idibia’s iconic African Queen music video.

“Apart from the video for African Queen, I don’t think anybody has seen us together before. We don’t have common friends,” she said.

The actress stressed that there has never been any form of friendship between them, describing the narrative circulating online as baseless.

“I don’t have a friendship relationship with Annie. I don’t know where they are getting that narrative from. Back then, I only walked into a studio, did my thing for the African Queen video, and left,” she explained.

“We are a greedy Nation” – Laura Ikeji Kanu calls out businesses over detty December price hikes (WATCH)

Beauty entrepreneur and influencer, Laura Ikeji Kanu, has sparked conversations online after calling out what she described as excessive greed among service providers in Nigeria, particularly during the festive ‘Detty December’ season.

In a video shared online, Laura expressed frustration over the sharp increase in prices for everyday services, using hair braiding as a key example.

According to her, a hairstyle she previously paid ₦70,000 for before leaving Nigeria is now being quoted at ₦200,000, with suggestions that clients should be charged as much as ₦250,000 simply because it is December.

Describing the situation as unreasonable, Laura warned that such unchecked price hikes could ultimately ruin the festive season.

She noted that while December is typically a period of high sales for businesses, exploiting customers under the guise of seasonal demand is unfair and damaging.

Laura also addressed the common assumption that Nigerians living abroad are wealthy and can afford inflated prices.

She emphasized that many diaspora Nigerians are regular people who work hard, save up, and return home during the holidays to enjoy themselves, not to be exploited.

According to her, the trend of inflating prices for services rendered to returnees has been ongoing and is increasingly getting out of hand.

She argued that even the former ₦70,000 charge for hair braiding was already high, questioning the justification for nearly tripling the price within a short period.

Beyond the beauty industry, Laura extended her criticism to the housing sector, blaming the rise of short-term rentals such as Airbnb for contributing to increased rent across the country.

She alleged that landlords, seeing the high daily rates charged for short-let apartments, have transferred that mindset to annual rent pricing, further burdening residents.

Reiterating her stance, Laura maintained that greed remains a major issue affecting various sectors in the country.

She urged business owners and service providers to exercise restraint, fairness, and consideration, warning that continuous exploitation could discourage visitors and harm the very economy they seek to benefit from during the festive season.

Ashmusy takes legal action against realtor over false claims about her home ownership

Social media influencer, Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, has taken legal action against a realtor following what she described as false and defamatory claims regarding her home ownership.

In an official statement released by her company, Diamond Crest Homes, the firm addressed a publication allegedly made by Superblac Homes on Instagram on December 13, 2025, which claimed that a property publicly associated with Ashmusy was never owned by her.

The company described the publication as sensational, misleading, and entirely without factual basis.

In response to the latest incident, the company confirmed that the matter has been formally handed over to its legal representatives, who have been instructed to take all necessary legal steps to protect both Ashmusy and Diamond Crest Homes from reputational harm.

New mother praised by fellow choristers for returning to practice a day after giving birth (WATCH)

A video circulating online has sparked widespread reactions after a new mother was seen attending a choir rehearsal just one day after giving birth.

In the clip, the visibly exhausted new mum is shown participating in practice while fellow choristers praise her commitment and dedication.

Some members could be heard commending her strength, with others drawing inspiration from a biblical reference to Hebrew women who were described as strong and vigorous.

While the video inspired admiration from some viewers who applauded her resilience and devotion, it also triggered concern from critics who questioned the health implications of such an early return to physical activity after childbirth.

Medical professionals and commentators online pointed out that the immediate postpartum period is critical for rest, healing, and mother-child bonding.

Concerns were raised about potential risks such as excessive bleeding, infection, and delayed recovery, especially so soon after delivery.

Many argued that while faith and dedication are important, they should not come at the expense of a new mother’s health and wellbeing.

See comments below,

“Many of you will die… inside church…and God will still deny you entrance.”

“Does she have a husband or even a mother? Cos why would her immediate family allow this?”

“Such determination! I hope she also takes time to rest and care for herself and her baby. In my view, she might still need some proper rest, but her dedication is inspiring.”

“This is not a flex by the way. You’re just stressing yourself for stupid validation from people who will easily replace you in the choir is you kpai.”

Sharing the news via her Instagram page, Blessing revealed that the court reached its decision on December 15, 2025, describing the moment as the end of four years marked by emotional strain, public pressure, and what she termed false narratives. According to her, the ruling signifies that justice has finally prevailed.

“No mother can be at peace while separated from her children” – Regina Daniels allǝges Ned Nwoko has filed for full custody and dismissed her nannies (WATCH)

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has broken her silence amid an ongoing dispute involving her children, stating that no mother can truly be at peace while separated from her kids.

In an emotional post shared online, the actress suggested that although many people believe she is happy, she has been quietly dealing with the pain of being apart from her children.

She explained that her decision to step away from the situation publicly was intentional, as she refused to allow the pain to define or imprison her, adding that it took time for her to finally walk away.

Regina also raised concerns over what she described as the repeated public exposure of her children by their father, senator Ned Nwoko.

According to her, the public display of the children at this sensitive time appears deliberate and has inevitably attracted media attention.

She questioned whether such actions were motivated by a desire for public engagement rather than parental responsibility, noting that a public figure with legislative experience would be aware of the consequences of such exposure.

The actress revealed that she chose to remain silent initially to avoid escalating matters online but felt compelled to speak out following continued actions she described as immature.

In her words, she suggested that the former lawmaker’s conduct had shifted from statesmanship to attention-seeking.

Regina further alleged that she last spoke to her children in mid-November, claiming that Ned Nwoko dismissed all her nannies and pressured them into making false statements accusing her of violence and alcohol abuse, allegedly in the presence of the children.

She also stated that he has since filed for full custody, despite already having physical custody of the children.

Expressing confusion and pain, Regina questioned whether she truly posed such a threat as to warrant what she described as an aggressive challenge to her motherhood.

She emphasized that despite her young age, she deeply enjoys being a mother and misses caring for her children.

Ending her statement on a defiant note, the actress made it clear that she has no intention of backing down, declaring that she will fight for her children and remain confident that she will see them again soon.
