Rihanna highly anticipated Grammy performance was cancelled due to bronchitis. She actually arrived at the venue of the awards, the Staples Center, but did not walk the red carpet. She went straight to rehearsals but left.
A rep for Rihanna tells TMZ the singer took antibiotics for three days leading up to the show, but they didn’t work.
Rihanna was then examined by a doctor at her rehearsal Monday, who decided to put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because the singer was at risk of damaging her vocal cords. The singer arrived at the Staples Center but did not walk the red carpet. She went to rehearsals and left.
Sources connected to the production told TMZ, Rihanna has been struggling with and is on meds. A doctor on site recommended that she pull the plug on the performance because it could permanently damage her vocal cords.
Rihanna wanted to perform but reluctantly decided she had to listen to her doctors. She left Staples and is going home.
She was going to sing “Kiss It Better.” She even rehearsed twice but in the end the show just could not go on.
When you’re BIG, you’re BIG, nothing surprises you no more, nothing looks expensive to you no more. This is the now story of popular Blogger, Linda Ikeji.
Apparently, before now, some fans have always been tormenting the ex-model who is fond of posting her shoes and bag collections on Instagram, for not having a Birkin bag. A Birkin bag is a very expensive and high end designer bag by Hermes used mostly by Celebrities. (The price ranges from $11,500 to $150,000)
There is usually a long list of clientele and waiting period which could be up to 3 years before a person can purchase one Birkin bag.
Some have even reported that a person can only buy one Birkin bag per year and even Kim Kardashian waited for years before she could own a Birkin bag.
But as fate would have it, Linda eventually got not just one but two and as usual showed them off on Instagram.
Some of her fans reacted by calling the bags fake and she replied: “I’m too rich to buy fake”

It is no longer news that popular comic actor, John Okafor better known as Mr Ibu and wife, welcomed their son some weeks back but the adorable aspect of this bundle of joy, Chukwuebuka Jeffrey Okafor, is the way he smiles while sleeping.
Baby chukwuebuka stole the spotlight with his adorable grin bubbling with so much happiness even beside his pretty big sister, Chelsea.
The wife of the ace actor and comedian dazzled her users with pictures of the little man . ‘jeff baby rocks’ she said.
Pictures of the cute baby raised applauds and adorations from her friends as little EBuka continues to grow in cuteness and we look forward to seeing the handsome man he grows up to become.
For one bewildered girl, valentine couldn’t have been more perfect when her boyfriend got down on one knee and whipped out a box, the moment almost every girl longs for, but the bloke then did something which would have been funny if it were not such a cruel prank, he asked her to make him tea.
Brad Holmes, 24 from Southampton, told his girlfriend Jenny Davies, 22, from Portsmouth, how happy she makes him.
He can then be seen taking out a white box from his pocket in the footage which has been seen more than seven million times.
Jenny looks overcome with emotion as Brad goes down on one knee. But instead of asking her to marry him, he leaves her shocked by saying: ‘Will you make me a cup of tea?’
Brad says Jenny forgave him 20mins later and he did get his tea. ‘I grovelled for a bit and played it back to her and she saw the funny side. I got my cup of tea within 15 to 20 minutes.
Top media personality Eku Edewor and her identical twin sister Kessiana look really lovely in the love editorial of Genevieve Magazine’s February issue.
Òrékeléwà (A Beautiful Damsel) is a love song sung in pidgin English and Yoruba. The music video explores the simple pleasures of family moments, the beautiful memories inspired by those moments, and how those loving memories are sometimes all we need to stay connected when times and situation change.
Betty Mbereko, a widowed woman is set to marry her son. The woman and her son say in love they are with each other and now they want to take their incestuous relationship to the next level and get married.
What makes it worse is that the mother, Betty Mbereko is now six months pregnant and expecting her son’s child, and her grandchild. Betty, 40, has been a widow for the past 12 years and has been living with her 23-year-old son Farai Mbereko.
She confirms that she is six month pregnant and that she has decided it is better to “marry” her son because she does not want to marry her late husband’s young brothers, whom she says are coveting her.
Betty stunned a village court last week when she said the affair with her son had begun three years earlier.
She said after spending a lot of money sending Farai to school following the death of her husband, she felt she had a right to his money and no other woman was entitled to it.
“Look, I strove alone to send my son to school and no one helped me. Now you see that my son is working and you accuse me of doing something wrong.
Let me enjoy the products of my sweat,” she told the village court council.
Farai said he was more than prepared to marry his mother and would pay off the ilobola (bride price) balance his father had left unpaid to his grandparents.
“I know my father died before he finished paying the bride price and I am prepared to pay it off.
It is better to publicise what is happening because people should know that I am the one who made my mother pregnant, otherwise they will accuse her of promiscuity,” he said.
Local headman Nathan Muputirwa says: “We cannot allow this to happen in our village, mashura chaiwo aya, (This is a bad omen indeed).
In the past they would have to be killed but today we cannot do it because we are afraid of the police.”

Closed eyes, heart not beating but a Living Love!
I promise to carry on with our contagious smiles,
The same one that would light up a room the minute you walked in.
I promise to laugh and continue to never take myself too seriously,
I promise to love harder and forgive faster.
I promise to be content, in every sense of the word.
To be thankful for the air in my lungs,
and the EIGHT years I was blessed to know and understand you, OLUWABIMPE SUSAN GOLDIE HARVEY.
I promise to try and have a bigger heart (larger than the one I already have) as you always told me to.
To be selfless.
To know what I have, and know what I can give to others who are not as fortunate.
I promise to grieve that absence of your physical being for only a moment.
And then I promise to set you free.
I promise to never give up on others but when I get to breaking point, Kick their asses to d kerb as u always told me to!
I promise to be a friend and a confidante as you were.
To be a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on or a set of ears to simply listen…
And I can promise you this…
I have always promised to open my heart to you when I fall in love and when I fall apart.
When I eventually get married and become a father (U always said I was excellent with Kids and I would spoil mine rotten).
I promise to let you hear every giggle and feel every hug.
To know every new heartache (Yes o, still the hopeless romantic that I am with recent heartbreaking stories that you would have loved to hear!).
and let you be there for every triumphant moment…
The most important promise I can make,
despite all my excesses and Gemini madness,
A promise that carries the equivalence of all the rest combined is this…
I promise to make you proud….Heck yeah, World Domination is still our portion (I’m still working on everything we spoke about, pushing harder than ever, never relenting…)
With all that I am,
I love you everyday and now I will miss you everyday.
On the February 14th episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, Kendall Jenner told Kylie that she finally needs to break up with Tyga as she is tired of seeing her upset and sad over him.
Hollywood Life reports below…
18 year old Kylie broke down crying o because she and Tyga, 26, because have so many issues. The girls were filming a music video for Kris Jenner’s 60th birthday party but Kylie just couldn’t have fun with her sisters. When they start to ask her what’s wrong she starts crying and storms off!
All of the gals Kim, 35, Kourtney, 36, and Khloe, were filming Kris’s 60th birthday music video and the whole time Kylie was a little off. When they ask her what’s going on, she keeps saying, “just stuff with T.”
Kendall’s 20th birthday party was coming up and they were all discussing who was going to attend, and Kendall said she invited Tyga. “I invited Tyga before Kylie and Tyga had their issue,” Kendall said.
That was the complete last straw and finally, Kylie completely breaks down crying and runs off the set and says she doesn’t want to be on camera anymore. Kendall just doesn’t understand why she doesn’t just cut the cord for good after all their issues:
“She’s really vague when it comes to Tyga,” Kendall explains. Kendall looked Kylie in the eyes and said, “I don’t think you actually want to even experience things. Whoah, tough love can be harsh”
All of the girls were on Kendall’s side though. Khloe said it straight-forward,
“We’re all going through things but lets tough it out for one hour to make Mom happy.” We are totally on their side, but we did feel terrible when Kylie was hysterically crying and said, I feel really bad that this is the only day we can all meet to do the video, but I’m just really upset right now.”
Kendall’s birthday party at the Nice Guy was full of tension and was super awkward, of course. Before it even started, Kylie said,
“I just hope that we can make it through the night without drama.” Everyone was freaking out, even Khloe, who said, “It’s definitely awkward to have Kylie and Tyga both here so we’re all just watching.”
The whole time at Kendall’s party, everyone is trying to cheer Kylie up but she’s just not having it. Until Tyga runs up to her and puts his arm around her and all of a sudden everything is just peachy — how insane is that?
Kendall wasn’t even surprised though,
“I totally knew they’d be fine when they saw each other, I knew they’d get back together. That always happens. It just is what it is,” she said.
A man allegedly cut his wife’s breast on the eve of Valentine’s Day after accusing her of having an affair with his own brother. He then turned the knife on himself, chopped off his penis and threw it outside the house.
This incident happened in Kiganjo village, Thika, Kenya.
The woman, Margaret Achieng (pictured speaking to journalists) is currently admitted at Thika Level Five Hospital. She told journalists that she realised her husband had chopped off his manhood after a neighbour had summoned the police.
The couple were rushed to the hospital where Ms Achieng was stitched. Her husband underwent a successful reconstruction surgery. Doctors at the hospital told journalists that the woman is in a stable condition but her husband’s condition will be reviewed after the surgery.
Stanbic IBTC has just unveiled breadseller-turned-model Olajumoke Orisaguna as a face of the multinational bank.
“We’re inspired by Olajumoke,” the bank shared a photo of the young mum of two on their official Twitter handle moments ago, adding, “we’d love to move her forward.”
A quick look shows that they used her photo from the ThisDay shoot for the new campaign, “#neverstopmovingforward”, emphasizing that they intend to join other corporations in improving the life of the new model.
In her CNN feature last week, Olajumoke broke down in tears as she spoke for the first time. “I never expected that this could ever happen to me,” Olajumoke says, “My friends have told me they saw me on TV and they are really happy. My parents cannot believe their own child can become such a success. They are all so happy.”
For TY Bello, she says she didn’t think she took a great shot when Olajumoke walked by, but after she got home and went through her edits, everyone thought she was a model.
“No one believed she just walked past,” the photographer and singer said. “It occurred to me that if everyone thought she should be a model then maybe she should be one, then the search for her began.”
CNN’s Stephanie Busari who conducted the interview said that a Nigerian bank has offered to pay for Olajumoke’s children’s education, up to the university.
With this clear statement of intent, the bank in question is very likely Stanbic IBTC. You can watch the clip here:

Top Female Celebrities Who Got Married To Their Husbands At An Early Age
Marriage is a very important thing in the African culture and once a woman reaches a certain age, there’s a lot of pressure from family members and friends to get married and settle down and this doesn’t except the men as well.
The entertainment business makes it hard for most women to find ‘true’ love in the face of the limelight and settle down when necessary as their career is very demanding and most times places a heavy toll on one’s marriage.
Very few female entertainers have been able to find love at a very early age and get married too.
Here’s a list of top celebrities who met their spouse very early.
1) Adaeze Yobo (Married at 19)
Adaeze Yobo is a former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, and is also a step-daughter of former football player John Fashanu, who is used to be married to her mother.
Adaeze met with Joseph Yobo not long after she won the MBGN and got pregnant for Yobo and got married to him when she was just 19.
As the Government turns attention to agriculture to ease the pressure on the economy and create jobs, President of Dangote Group at the weekend flagged off his multibillion Naira 8000 hectares of Rice Outgrowers Scheme in Hadejia, Jigawa State as part of his partnership with governments at all levels to reduce food imports.
The launch of the Scheme, marked with the distribution of rice seedlings to the benefitting farmers, is with potential to provide direct jobs for 5000 farmers and another 5000 indirect jobs for various scheme dependants.
The rice project being executed by Dangote Rice Limited and expected to be replicated in six other states of the federation is a fallout of memorandum of understanding signed between Dangote and the Federal government on one hand and the Jigawa State government.
Speaking shortly before he made the distribution, Alhaji Dangote explained that Nigeria depended on Agriculture for economic development before the discovery of oil, noting that oil was meant to complement the agric sector but that sadly, the nation abandoned it and concentrated on oil.
“Before the discovery of oil, our economy was built around potentials from our palm oil, groundnut, cotton, and rubber plantations. Now the price of oil has plummeted from a peak of $116 per barrel in June 2014 to as low as $29 per barrel in January 2016, this means there is huge loss of revenue to the governmnet”, he lamented.
Justifying his decision to delve into agriculture, Dangote said Nigerian agricultural commodities and food imports bills had averaged over One Trillion Naira in the past two years 2013 and 2014, with foods like sugar, wheat, rice, fish accounting for 93 per cent of the total cost of imports, a situation he described as unacceptable for any one who loves the country.
He stated that the huge amounts were being expended on food items that the country has potential to produce locally with attendant losses of employment generation and wealth creation opportunities.
He added that “the allocation of foreign exchange to import these items depletes the foreign reserves continually.”
Dangote disclosed that the Dangote Rice Outgrowers Scheme has been designed as a one stop solution for the rice value chain.
“Farmers will be provided with training, necessary inputs with guaranteed buy back agreed price, will improve yield, production and income for the farmers”, he added.
Excited at the Dangote initiative, the minister of state for Agriculture, Senator Heneiken Lokpobiri commended Alhaji Dangote for his intervention in the government efforts at providing food security for the citizenry, creating jobs and reducing dependency on food importation.
He expressed government readiness to provide all the needed support to make the Dangote Rice Outgrowers Scheme a success.
According to him, a whooping sum of $20 billion is spent on importation of food items that could be produced locally.
The Federal government he said, would like Alhaji Dangote to take the lead in the government planned Rice revolution to save nation needless importation of foods and subsequent loss of jobs
The Minister noted that the government is putting in place a strategy that will make farmers have greater access to farm implements to help them produce with ease.
In his address. Of welcome earlier, Special Adviser to Alhaji Dangote on Rice and Coordinator of the Outgrowers Scheme stated that not more than 2.6 million metric tons were produced locally leaving the rest to importation.
This he said was a disturbing situation because Nigeria was blessed with lands, good climate to support the cultivation of the best rice.
The Dangote Rice project he explained consisted of the Outgrowers and the commercial.
The Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Badaru Muhammed Abubakar thanked the Dangote Rice Limited for choosing Jigawa as the pilot state for the project.
He pledged the readiness of his administration to provide all necessary support to the project.
The governor said he had no doubt in him that Dangote rice will succeed in turning around the economy of his state, saying the company’s exploits in other sector like Cement, Sugar, and lately in oil and gas was a pointer to the fact that Jigawa was lucky to host Dangote Rice.
At last, bread seller turned model, Olajumoke Orisaguna’s feature on CNN has been released!
In an emotional interview with CNN’s Stephanie Busari, Olajumoke and TY Bello shared the story of how photo bombing a shoot with International Nigerian/UK star, Tinie Tempah, has changed her life in so many unimaginable ways.
A teary Olajumoke on how her fortunes turned around unexpectedly:
“I never expected that this could ever happen to me. My friends have told me they saw me on TV and they are really happy. My parents cannot believe their own child can become such a success. They are all so happy.”
On why everyone connects with Olajumoke’s story everyone, TY Bello says:
“I think the reason why the story connects with everyone is because everybody has dreams. This is a very very tough time, especially in my country. Everyone is looking for that magical break I don’t think anyone planned this. I think this is definitely divine because the way people have connected with it is phenomenal. Its a phenomenal story”.
Hi bros. Ystday was one of the worst days of my life I tell you but Lord God Jehovah has shown me vision from heaven and am grateful. Am Edward am currently doing my youth service in Ebonyi State I have just a few months left to wrap up. My girl and myself have been dating for 3 years now. We have never missed a Val ever.
About 2 weeks ago my girls sister called to say she had food poison and she was admitted. I was worried, sent her all my allowee so she can sustain her needs and get better cos I can’t leave my place of assignments. We later spoke on phone, she sent me pictures from her admission bed at the hospital and told me not to come to Lagos for val that she will doll my vibe bcos of her stage and infections. I said ok.
But i call her everytime to check on her.
Last week of val, I received an offer of free ride to Lagos and some change from my guys.
So, I decided to surprise her. ON arrival to Lagos on Saturday I called her to say I was in Lagos and I was coming to the hospital, to the shock of my life sir! She switched off her 2 phones, I proceeded to the hospital where I interviewed the staff there. They said they have never seen anyone like her this year. On getting this info, I knew the shiiiiii was real. I decided to look for her round lagos, from Alausa, Surulere to Lekki 1 scheme. I didn’t sight her, her friends and sister were covering for her. I spend all my change of 14k on taxi fairs. I told my friends about it, they said I shouldn’t allow her kill my vibe so we proceeded to rhapsody at IC mall.
I could not believe my eyes when I saw her in a corner table sitting with one old Indian Man with grey hair. Help me reason this abeg. Not even white man? or Nigerian Old man? Indian. So I approached her and she just started to shout out loud that I have been stalking her, she is done with me. Next thing the Indian man started shouting too that security should throw my friends and myself out and we should be locked up by police.
We left the place in peace. Have written too much already, I thank God he exposed her for me. Just very painful for 3 years lost to nothing.
After passing through a traumatic experience of being raped all night by a man literally described by the police as a beast from hell, the curtain seem to have closed for a 15-year-old girl (names withheld), as medical examination has confirmed her assailant HIV positive.
The teenager was said to have left her home at Mararaba, in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State at about 11.am penultimate Saturday to hawk sachet water, popularly known as pure water, when fate dealt her a fatal blow.
An harbinger of pain, sorrow and agony came in the form of one Abubakar Atiku, who, on accosting her, seized the money she had so far realized from the sale of water for the day, which he used as a bait to lure her to his residence.
It was learnt that having succeeded in luring her home, Abubakar not only raped her repeatedly, but also held her hostage till the next day when she was found naked at his residence by a search party which was raised when the girl did not return home the previous day.
He was promptly arrested by the police and detained at the ‘A’ Division, Mararaba, before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Nasarawa police command in Lafia, where he presently cooling his heels.
Sadly, the police said Atiku was confirmed to be HIV positive after all necessary medical tests were conducted on him. This discovery, according to sources, has become a dilemma for his victim and her parents.
Nasarawa State police spokesman, ASP Umaru Ismaila Numan who confirmed the incident, was silent on the medSical status of the girl. He simply said investigation was in progress, the Sun reports
Many a time, I’ve paid tribute to the inherent creativity and ingenuity of Nigerians.
Nigerians are so creative that rather than find out the English names of certain fruits, they have either stuck with the traditional name or invented a new name for said fruit.
Here are common examples:
1. Tropical Almonds
The tropical almond can be found in many parts of Southern Nigeria. But Nigerians definitely don’t bother calling it tropical almond. This delicious fruit is referred to as “fruit”.
2. Tiger Nuts
The name “Tiger nut” is yet to stick to this sweet root from Northern Nigeria. Tiger nut is called its traditional name in various parts of the country; Ofio in the Southwest, Aki Hausa in the Southeast and Aya in the North.
Olakunbi Oyelese of April By Kunbi shared amazing photos of bread seller turned print model, Jumoke wearing one of her collections.
The photo is from a Valentine postcard she did recently. Explaining, Kunbi wrote;
“It’s no news that @Olajumoke__o’s story literally broke the internet last week, and we were reminded about how amazing God’s grace is and that he’s still in the business of turning lives around and blessing us.. I’d wanted to do a Christmas postcard but my schedule last quarter of 2015 was beyond hectic (Not complaining o! Lol). So I decided to do a Val postcard instead…Not a lookbook/collection as a lot of blogs have reported.
I mentioned in my post last week that I’ll definitely be booking her and I don’t regret it one bit! It was a pleasure working with her and seeing her transform, taking instructions, moving like she’s been doing it all her life….She’s a natural. Jumoke’s story has forced me to look closer at my surroundings. There’s absolutely no doubt she is blessed but there are a lot of Olajumokes around us…Hardworking and just want to feed and help their families. You might not be able to get that pepper seller a modeling contract, but the next time she says the price for her pepper is ₦100, please don’t price it to ₦30. I’ve been guilty of this, trust me. To think that someone around me works/walks in the sun all day and her profit at the end of the day is at most ₦500. I’m happy to have offered Jumoke her first paying modeling job. May it be the beginning of an amazing career for her. She might not be a runway model but she’s perfect for print and editorial! May God help us all to make someone’s life easier, someone’s load a lot easier to carry.”
