Nigerian actress Nkechi Blessing has issued a stern warning to fans and onlookers who attempt to take pictures of her in public.

Sharing on her Instagram story, Nkechi expressed her frustration over people taking photos of her with poor-quality phones and dirty camera lenses.

She also threatened to smash any phone used to take her picture if it had a dirty lens, poor image quality, or was simply a โ€œcheapโ€ device.

She wrote;

“All of una with una useless cheap phones, if una no fit clean una camera lens well before una put am for my face, na to break una phones remain or try avoid me.”

Her outburst comes after she was called out online by a critic who posted a video of her without filters, alleging that she over edits her photos and videos.

The clip which sparked reactions on social media, had some internet users accusing the actress of deceiving fans with her online appearance.

However, Nkechi did not hold back as she vowed to continue using her filters in recording her videos and capturing her images.

Quadri Alabi, the 17-year-old boy who made headlines during the 2023 presidential election, has finally regained his freedom after months of unlawful detention.

On the 17th of April, 2025, a Magistrate Court in Lagos discharged Quadri of all charges after it was confirmed that no evidence linked him to the armed robbery allegations.

Recall that Quadriโ€™s ordeal began when he was abducted near his home in Amukoko by some notorious area boys in the community, who had reportedly harassed him for not sharing donations he received following his viral moment during the elections.

His abductors falsely accused him of street fighting, but police escalated the matter, fraudulently charging him with armed robbery and remanding him at the Kirikiri Medium Security Custodial Centre.

The officers at the station misrepresented Quadriโ€™s age as 18 and wrongfully linked him with four unrelated adult co-defendants.

His case only gained renewed attention after human rights activist Hassana Nurudeen of Ray of Hope Prison Outreach brought it into the spotlight.

Following legal intervention and advocacy, the court ruled in Quadriโ€™s favor, and he was freed. His legal team is now demanding โ‚ฆ100 million in compensation from the Nigeria Police Force, the immediate removal and prosecution of the DPO and involved officers, and a public apology.

His lead counsel, Inihebe Effiong also warned that if their demands are not met, legal action will be pursued.

A Nigerian lady shared how she was able to finish cooking her meal when her gas ran out at 2 a.m.

The lady with the Ig handle @kyootkimilar_ shared a video showing her plight when she tried cooking during the early hours of the morning.

The video showed her pot carefully placed on the potrest of her gas cooker, with 4 candles placed right beneath the set-up.

Using this ingenious set-up the lady hoped that she would be able to finish cooking the spaghetti and eggs which was in the pot.

The lady explained in Yoruba while showing the set of candles that she had already used, that her gas finished at 2 am but her food wasn’t ready.

Remembering she had candles from a previous birthday celebration, she decided to use those to complete her cooking.

The video has garnered attention online, with many commenting on her resourcefulness. Others were more concerned about why she was cooking so early in the day when the average person would be fast asleep.

In an Instagram post, the actor appealed to Tinubu to seize the economic opportunity presented by the ongoing trade tensions between the United States and China.

According to Okon, this is an opportunity the president can seize to attract luxury brands affected by the dispute and have them set up factories in Nigeria.

Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has sentenced Uzondu Precious Chimaobi to four years in prison.

The sentence, delivered on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, followed Chimaobi’s refusal to accept Naira as legal tender in a business transaction.

According to the EFCC, Chimaobi sold a Cartier diamond bracelet valued at $6,000 to an undercover agent posing as a customer.

He accepted $5,700 in U.S. cash and issued a receipt in the same currency, violating Section 20 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, which designates the Naira as the sole legal tender in Nigeria.

Chimaobi, the owner of Unlimited Jewellers Limited,ย was arraigned by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on February 5, 2025.

He faced a two-count charge stemming from his rejection of the Naira in favor of foreign currency. Initially pleading not guilty, Chimaobi changed his plea to guilty on April 14, 2025.

Following his admission, the prosecution presented evidence, including his statement and investigative reports, which the court admitted.

In delivering judgment, Justice Owoeye sentenced Chimaobi to four years in prison.

However, the court granted an option of a โ‚ฆ50,000 fine on count one and a โ‚ฆ600,000 fine on count two. Additionally, Chimaobiโ€™s Cartier diamond wristwatch was ordered forfeited to the Federal Government.

 

Saheed Osupa Drops Charges as Portable Regains Freedom

Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has regained his freedom after the Fuji star. Saheed Osupa withdrew a cyberstalking and defamation case against him.

The legal dispute was resolved on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, following a formal notice of withdrawal submitted at the Upper Area Court 1 in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Recall that Osupa had filed a petition accusing Portable of criminal defamation, cyberstalking, criminal intimidation, and inciting public disturbance.

These allegations stemmed from a live Instagram broadcast by Portable on March 19, during which he allegedly made offensive comments about the Fuji icon.

Osupaโ€™s lawyer, Ahmed Opalekunde, confirmed the withdrawal, citing interventions and appeals from respected figures in the entertainment industry.

Although Portable had been arraigned and granted bail, the matter has now been resolved out of court, with Osupaโ€™s team urging the court to caution the singer against making further defamatory remarks.

The withdrawal letter read;

“Itโ€™s our clientโ€™s (nominal complainant) instruction that the stakeholders in the music industry and other notable personalities in the society have intervened in the matter and pleaded to the nominal complainant to withdraw the case against the defendant in the interest of public peace. We hereby, on behalf of our client, apply to withdraw the case against the defendant and terminate the same accordingly, as the matter has been resolved amicably. Further, sir, we want to pray the court to admonish and warn the defendant to desist from any further publications, utterances, and any other acts aiming at disparaging the person and businesses of the nominal complainant.”

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to share the hilarious culture shock he experienced in Italy.

During his first week in Italy, he shared in multiple tweets on X (formerly Twitter) that a student had greeted him by pecking both sides of his cheeks.

According to him, the awkward incident happened in the lab, while his hand was still awkwardly outstretched, expecting a regular handshake.

It wasnโ€™t until more lab mates arrived and greeted each other the same way that he realized it was just the norm in the Italian culture.

Embarrassed, he quietly excused himself to the bathroom, stared in the mirror, and whispered, “This thing you’re living is not life, sha.“

His tweet read;

“Culture shock crazy, gan. My first week in Italy, PhD final year babe in the lab, I was introduced to carry peck knack me both sides of my cheeks with my outstretched hand hanging in the air, anticipating handshake. Shock hol me. I carry phone WhatsApp my guy immediately: “Tunde, one of these babes don dey quickly love up sha” Mumu boy. Wasn’t until an hour later when other lab mates started coming in, I see all of them pecking each other in greetings.”
