Music executive, Don Jazzy’s latest signee, Bayanni, has recounted his life-changing encounter with the talent manager in 2019.
Don Jazzy, on Tuesday, August 23, unveiled Bayanni, a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), as the newest addition to his music record label, Mavin Records.
“It’s that time again when we bring to you another young talent from the Mavin Academy. Meet BAYANNI. He has gone through a series of defining moments and is ready to be unveiled to the world. Pls Welcome @itsbayanni , the newest MAVIN.” Don Jazzy wrote.
An excited Bayanni, who claimed that he had been dropping freestyles since 2016, narrated how he received a life-changing message from Don Jazzy in 2019.
The producer slid into his Instagram DM, greeted him in French while stating that some content on his page caught his attention.

A UK-based lady has narrated how she discovered that her Yoruba boyfriend, who tricked her into pretending they were siblings, had another girlfriend in their compound.
The young lady in a now viral video revealed she met the man in Birmingham, where she worked as a waitress. She said she fell for him because he checked all the right boxes—he was loving and even talked her up about getting married.
According to her, after dating for a while, they moved in together, but she started noticing some red flags. She noted that she would usually give him money from what she made, while the boyfriend, who claimed to be a financial analyst, never contributed to her finances.
After they moved in together, he told her to start acting like his sister because the caretaker was planning to increase the rent since there were now two people living in the house.
She complied and played the part flawlessly, only to discover later that the man had tricked her into posing as his sister because he was dating another woman who lived in the same building.

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has undergone a successful a kidney transplant surgery, and he has taken to his social media page to appreciate God and everybody who supported him in his trying time.
His wife was the donor and he specially expressed gratitude to her for donating the vital organ.

Oro festival: Pastor arrested as church members allegedly stone traditional worshipper to death in Lagos
A clergyman and nine of his church members have been arrested for allegedly stoning a 25-year-old traditional worshipper, Agboola Akeem, to death during a clash in Lagos.
The clergyman, identified as Mercy Okoch of the Truth and The Spirit Prophetic Church in Lagos state, got into a fight with traditional worshippers on Tuesday, August 23 at about 6.30pm.
It was gathered that the traditional worshippers were celebrating their Oro festival while the church members were having a church service. The traditional worshippers allegedly invaded the church premises and asked them to stop their service.
The traditional worshippers and church members got into a shouting match, which turned into a brawl. In the process, one of the traditional worshippers was allegedly stoned to death. This caused a rage among the other traditional worshippers, who vowed to burn down the church.
Officers attached to the Oko Oba Police Division stormed the church premises following a distress call that the church, located at Number 2 Sanni Taiwo Lawal Street in Oko Oba, was about to be set ablaze.
The police were able to quell the tension and evacuated the body of the deceased and deposited it in the morgue. Nine churchgoers, including the pastor, are currently being held in police custody.

Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has berated some Nigerian youths for recreating the outfit worn by the Vice Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Kashima Shettima, to the Nigeria Bar Association Conference in Lagos State.
Shettima was representing the APC presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu, at the 62nd Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) conference that was held on Monday, August 22, in Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos state.
The 55-year-old was dressed in a suit and tie, accompanied by a pair of gym shoes, which has elicited reactions from social media users.
His choice of outfit stirred different reactions on social media and some netizens decided to recreate the outfit and shared the pictures online.
Reacting to this, Yul Edochie took to Twitter to tackle Nigerian youths for always focusing on trivial things, instead of important issues.

A media personality, Shugah Annang took to Twitter to reveal how she became an evil person to a friend of hers after she advised against the friend against paternity fraud.
Shugah shared screenshots of her conversation with her friend who had come to her seeking help on what to do. Her friend was engaged to be married to one guy named Victor, but got pregnant for another guy and because she didn’t want to lose Victor, she planned on pinning the pregnancy on him.
Shugah was angered by her friend’s decision and advised her against it and her friend interpreted her advise as being judgmental which caused them to not be on good terms.
Shugah then revealed that months later, there was a wedding and when her friend was asked why Shugah wasn’t invited, her friend dubbed her as a bitter person who is not happy for someone’s else progress.

A Nigerian woman, Oluwafunmilayo Fatai, has narrated how she left her life in the city to live in a slum with her husband.
Oluwafumilayo, who made it clear that she made the choice out of love, claimed that her family was first taken aback and perplexed by her choice to leave a comfortable home and a job for a man.
The mother of three said that, despite the jeers she received, she has no regrets about her decision to settle down with her partner.
Speaking in an interview with Legit TV, Oluwafumilayo revealed that her previous admirers mocked her when they learnt she married someone who lives in a slum.
Speaking on how she met her husband, Oluwafunmilayo said she worked as a teacher and it was the job that took her to the lagoon slum, where she would teach and return to her place in the city.
She recounted how her husband was observing her during the time she frequented the place to teach, and he began asking her out.
According to her, she didn’t like him at first, but her perspective changed and she relocated to the slum to start life with her lover six years ago.
“It is love. He is educated and an alfa. And I am also a Muslim. So, that is what I want in a man. He is a good Muslim, learned person, speaks truth and never tells lies and he loves me. So, what else am I looking for? I felt bad then but now, I am okay with it. I believe whatever God said we will be or where we will be, will happen.
“My siblings were not okay with it. They don’t support it. They seldom come to see me because blood is thicker than water. Even my friends don’t visit me at all. My friends only came here when I got married. We just talk on phone.” She said.

A while ago, Onyeka Onwenu opened up on her failed marriage and how she single-handedly raised her children.
The 70-year-old entertainer who got married to a Yoruba Muslim man in 1984, shared her experience during an interview with media personality, Kikelomo Atanda-Owo.
According to the mum-of-two, she didn’t want to divorce her husband but if she didn’t end their marriage at the time she did, it would have killed her.
Her words,
“I went through it, it was difficult because I really didn’t want my marriage to end but I couldn’t take it anymore, it would have killed me. I always say that that is the truth and it was not good for the children to live in that kind of environment where the mother is depressed, the mother is carrying the weight of the whole family.
“I raised my children from kindergarten to master’s degree. My husband didn’t pay school fees for one day, didn’t buy clothes, didn’t pay for holidays, didn’t give me housekeeping money but he was a nice and kind and generous man and basically, there was control where if you didn’t do the things he wanted, ‘well I’m not going to help you, I’m not going to give you money and I would like to say this to Nigerians, any man who has children, has a family and decides not to take care of them, you’ll have to answer to God.”

The Onitigbo of Tigbo-Ilu Land, Ota, Ogun State, Olabode Thomas-Fagbayi, has explained why he conferred a chieftaincy title on controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable.
It would be recalled that the Zazu Zeh star sparked uproar on Monday, August 22, when he took to social media to announce his new title as the Amuludun of Tigbo, Aworiland.
Netizens queried the monarch’s decision to bestow a chieftaincy on Portable, owing to the fact that he has been in the news multiple times for the wrong reasons.
Speaking in a chat with Premiumtimes, the Ogun monarch maintained that people’s accounts of Portable’s personality differed from what he saw when he met the singer.
The Monarch, who noted that Portable is a native of Tigbo town, described him as very respectful and well-behaved.
“I visited a school in my domain where I have gotten a report of misbehaviour among the pupils and students of the school. So, I went to the school to talk briefly with them. It was there that I was told that somebody called Portable was passing through my domain and was throwing money at people, and in the process, many got injured.
Because of that, I summoned him to my palace, and he came twice, but I wasn’t at the palace when he came. So, one day, I was walking on the road, and I saw him driving; I called for him, and he immediately came with his boys, and they all prostrated on the road.
“His mum is from Tigbo, and he too lives here; he presented himself as a responsible person, and we take him as that. Some people might have reservations about him, but even at that, he is our son.” He said.
Man calls out woman for sending him a bill of N35k for food; she responds
Last night, a Nigerian man took to Twitter to call out a woman for sending him a bill of N35k for food and she has now responded to his attack.
The man, identified as @tunjitweet on Twitter, said the lady asked him to buy her lunch and he told her to order a meal and send him the bill.
Shockingly, she sent him a bill of N37k – N35k for a 5 liters pack of jollof rice and N2k for delivery.
After seeing the exorbitant bill, the man accused her of being a glutton and asked what she plans to do with that quantity of food.
He then claimed she told him to just admit that he can’t afford the meal instead of making a big deal out of it.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote,
“Someone asked me for lunch this noon, i said choose your meal and send the bill. she went to just jollof page to pick 5L rice of 35k and delivery 2k and sent me 37k bill.
‘why are buying 5litres cooler of rice?’. her response was ‘if you can’t afford it, just say so’ 🤦🏾♂️”

Well, the lady has now taken to Snapchat to respond to his tweet.
She accused him of not sharing the full story because he has been pestering her to send her nude pictures.
She also disclosed that he contacted her first to request for a movie date but he went online to make it look like she begged him for lunch.
She also accused him of calling her out because of ‘pu$$y’.

Man stones his 17-year-old girlfriend to death in South Africa after accusing her of cheating on him
A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stoning his 17-year-old girlfriend, Promise Tjatji, to death in Limpopo, South Africa.
The police spokesperson, Lt-Col Mamphaswa Seabi, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, said the teenager was attacked by her lover on Saturday evening after he suspected her of cheating on him.
“A 23-year-old man will today (Tuesday) appear in the Nebo magistrate court after he was arrested for allegedly killing a 17-year-old girl believed to be his girlfriend on Saturday night, 20 August 2022 at about 19:00,” said Seabi.
“The information received by the Police suggests that the suspect was walking with the victim at Kome village under Nebo policing area when she allegedly received a call. The suspect then accused her of cheating on him and he then stoned her to death.
“The police were called and on arrival at the scene, the victim was found lying with fatal injuries. She was identified as Promise Tjatji. The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit took over the case for further investigations. The suspect will face a charge of murder.” He said.
Mpshe Tsatsi, the deceased’s uncle, stated in an interview with Times LIVE that Promise had already made plans for the future and intended to become a doctor after graduating from high school.
Mpshe, who is distraught and still struggling to comprehend his niece’s death, said the teenager had been staying with his elderly mother.
“It is tough — it is very tough, I must say. She was a very nice girl and I heard at school that she was very good with mathematics and physics.” He said.
When Mphe arrived home on Saturday, he found uncooked boerewors on the kitchen table. His mother said the meat was taken out of the fridge by her granddaughter to cook.
“She was about to cook before she left [to go out with the boyfriend].” He said.
According to him, the teenager was in grade 12 and they were planning to help her study at university.
Speaking further, he stated that he was disappointed the family of the alleged perpetrator had not approached them.
“We expected his family to come and say something to us in the form of apology or something, but so far no-one has come. Even yesterday we were discussing it and I said that if they don’t want to come, we can’t force them. An apology must come from your heart.” He said.

“It was staged” – Rivers state police command dismisses trending video of UNIPORT student claiming she was kidnapped
The Rivers state police command has refuted claims that a University of Port Harcourt student, Jennifer Spiff, has been abducted.
A video of Jennifer claiming she had been abducted and her abductors were asking for money her parents could not afford made the rounds online on Monday, August 22.
Viral reports alleged that the young lady was abducted in Port Harcourt and that her abductors were demanding a N5 million ransom and had threatened to kill her today, Tuesday, August 23, if the ransom wasn’t paid.
However, reacting to the video via its Twitter handle on Tuesday afternoon, the police command claimed the video was staged, possibly with the intention of fleecing unsuspecting members of the public.
The tweet read,
“With regards to a video that trended briefly yesterday, where one Jennifer Spiff, a UNIPORT Student, was allegedly kidnapped, the Police wishes to state that the entire charade was staged by the “victim”, possibly to fleece unsuspecting members of the public. The Police is conducting an indepth investigations into the matter, while the outcome will be unveiled accordingly”.

In related news, a young Nigerian lady, Safiyanu Amira, who raised a false kidnap alarm on Twitter a few days ago, has confessed that nothing of the sort happened and apologized to Nigerians.
Amira had, in a series of tweets, alleged that she and 17 other victims were abducted at gunpoint from different parts of Abuja last Tuesday by men in uniform and driven off in a van and later separated into two groups.
She had also tweeted the locations of the alleged kidnappers, claiming they were unaware that she was with a phone.
A barrage of concerned Nigerians quickly reposted the distress tweet, pleading with the Nigerian police force to intervene.
However, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command later disclosed that it had found the missing Safiyanu Amira and debunked the alleged kidnapping.

The young man, perceived to be in his 20s, shared a video of his lover visiting the country as well as videos from their court wedding.
While sharing the video, he gushed over the bond they share and his wife’s vibe and energy.
In the photos from their civil wedding, the young man wore a sharp blue suit as his bride sported a white wedding dress.
The civil wedding, which was held at the federal marriage registry in Ikoyi, had the young man’s friends and family in attendance, as seen in the photos shared online.

Cameroonian woman arrested at airport while trying to flee after killing 2 and injuring one in the US
A Cameroonian woman, Raïssa Kengne, has been arrested for allegedly killing two persons and injuring another in Atlanta Midtown on Monday afternoon, August 22.
She is said to have specifically targeted her victims because both men were linked to a lawsuit she filed against her former employer earlier this year.
The deceased – Westley Freeman, 41, and Michael Shinners, 60, were named in the lawsuit as defendants and she accused them of conspiring against her with her former employer.
In a 407-page complaint, Raïssa accused them of harassment, intimidation, threats, burglary, computer hacking, phone spoofing, and other attacks.
She also took to LinkedIn to reveal that she started her own company because of the mistreatment she suffered in her former job.
Well, Raïssa decided to take laws into her own hands on Monday afternoon and stormed the residence of her two victims in different locations at Atlanta Midtown, and opened fire at them.
In the first location at 1280 W. Peachtree Street, she killed one person and fatally wounded another, while in the second location at 1100 Peachtree Street, she killed another victim.
Concerned residents placed a call to the police and they discovered that the shooting was carried out by the same person.
“The lookout for both of the shooters, we found out quickly, was the same person. It was a female that was matching the same description that was seen in this area,” said Interim Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum.
A state wide search began immediately to track down the suspect and she was arrested two hours later at the airport.
A picture shared with FOX 5 shows Raïssa dressed in a black and white stripped shirt and blue jeans, standing handcuffed in front of the Truist Bank ATMs in the South Terminal.
