Nigerian rapper, Eva Alordiah has opined that a lot of women are in toxic relationships because they can’t fend for themselves without the help of their man.

Ex-Rivers State Accountant-General wanted for N435 billion fraud, wins the Governorship ticket at the PDP primaries in Rivers State
Former Rivers Accountant-General, Siminialayi Fubara, has won the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 General Election.
Fubara, who hails from the riverine Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area, polled 721 votes to defeat 15 other aspirants.
Other contestants, Kamalu Isaac scored 86, George Kelly 37, Danagogo Tammy 36, West Morgan got four votes, Briggs David four, Felix Obuah two votes and eight void votes.
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Prof. Walter Mbotu, declared Fubara the winner of the primary election.
However, and as expected, his endorsement by the governor was not without controversies as he is alleged to be on “wanted list” of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The anti-graft agency recently declared him and 58 others for N435 billion fraud.
The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, who confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, said the Account General and 58 other persons, including four other officials of the Rivers State government are wanted by the commission for alleged fræud, criminal conspiracy, money laundering, misappropriation of public funds, and abuse of office.
The EFCC urged members of the public to come forward with information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
Man who celebrated his birthday in graveyard says ghosts are haunting him
A Ghanaian man who became a viral sensation after he celebrated his birthday in a graveyard has cried out as he says ghosts are now haunting him.
The man identified as Nkrumah Samuel, popularly known as Remes Kay, who is an Actor and movie producer by profession, was seen donned in their traditional Kente attire alongside his friends as they celebrated in a cemetery.
A high table decorated with drinks and a cake was placed between gravestones as the celebrant made merry with friends.
There were no chairs provided for guests so some relaxed on gravestones during the party.
However in a new development, Nkrumah has complained that his life has not been the same since the party.
Speaking in an interview with Abena Gold, the actor said ghosts have been haunting him since his party.
He revealed that his motive for celebrating in a cemetery was to pass the message that one’s birthday isn’t just the addition of a year but it also means the subtraction of a year from the years they have to live.
In the interview conducted in his local language, Remes Kay explained that since his birthday party, he has been seeing scary things and he believes ghosts are now after his life.

Popular Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has averred that it’s better to have a child with someone you are not in love with.
She made this assertion in a recent interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.
According to her, having a child with someone you are emotionally connected to is very problematic and opens one up to hurt and heartache.
She added that if one has a child with someone they are not in love with, they won’t be emotionally affected if the person cheats on them because their relationship would be like a friendship even though they have a child together.
“I feel like when you wanna have a kid, it should be with someone you are not in love with because the moment the so-called husband goes to cheat, you will catch feelings and start going mad”, she said.
The 36-year-old who has a daughter with her ex-partner, also revealed that she is ready to have a second child with any man who is capable and ready to take responsibility for the child.

A Nigerian man, identified as Ebi Williams, has recounted how he and his friend were robbed at gunpoint by a robbery suspect arrested in Bayelsa state.
Ebi took to his Facebook page to share his experience which occurred four years ago, after the suspect was finally apprehended by the police on Tuesday, May 24.
The suspects, Zion Kientei and Solomon Deizigha, were arrested inside a tricycle during a Stop and Search Operations at the Isaac Boro Express Way, Yenagoa.
Ebi saw the news online and revealed that he was a victim of their heinous crime four years ago, and they made away with N600k belonging to him and his friend.
“The guy on T shirt and his gang robbed me and my friend on gun point in a broad daylight, made away with our 600k, four years ago. Same pistol, I recognize him very well, nemesis has caught up with u”, he wrote.
In other news, Peter Nielsen, the Danish husband of Nigerian singer, Zainab Nielsen whose stage name is Alizee, has been sentenced to death by hanging for killing her and their 3-year-old daughter in 2018.
It would be recalled that Nielsen was accused of smothering his wife and daughter to death in their Banana Island residence at 3.45 AM on April 5, 2018, and was subsequently arrested and remanded in prison.
He was first arraigned in court on June 13, 2018, where he pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of murder contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Judgement was finally delivered on Friday, May 20 2022, when he was arraigned before a Lagos High Court on a two count charge of murder brought against him by the Lagos State Government.
The presiding judge, Justice Bolanle Okikiolu-Ighile, convicted the 54-year-old man and sentenced him to death by hanging on both counts.
Married man allegedly stabs his mistress to death
A 46-year-old married man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend to death in Kirinyaga, Kenya.
Following a disagreement, the suspect, Simon Maina, allegedly went berserk and repeatedly stabbed his lover, Jackline Irungu, murdering her on the spot on Tuesday night, May 24 in Ngurubani town.
Witnesses claim that Maina and his girlfriend arrived at their rented room on Tuesday evening. While inside, the two disagreed for unknown reasons, and a heated argument erupted.
The suspect then reportedly took a knife and fatally attacked his girlfriend.
It’s gathered that the suspect shut the room from the outside afterwards and called the area head on his cellphone to alert him that he had killed someone.
The administrator rushed to the scene and found the suspect outside the lodging and alerted the police. Police arrived shortly after and apprehended the offender, who was taken to Wang’uru police station for questioning.
When the officers broke into the room they found the victim naked, lying in a pool of blood in bed and removed her body to the mortuary.
Confirming the incident, Mwea East Sub-county police boss Daniel Kitavi said the matter was being treated as murder. He said investigations have commenced to establish the reasons the man eliminated his girlfriend in such a cruel manner.

The remains of the pregnant woman who was gruesomely murdered along with her four children in Anambra State have been laid to rest.
Harira Jubril, 32, and her four children, Fatima, 9, Khadijah, 7, Hadiza, 5, and Zaituna, 2, were killed by unknown gunmen in Anambra state over the weekend.
The tragic incident occurred at Isulo, Orumba North Local Government Area of the state, on Sunday, May 22.
The bereaved husband of the deceased claimed their corpse from the morgue on Tuesday, May 24, and proceeded to bury them on Wednesday, May 25.
The burial rites were conducted according to Islamic injunctions, and some members of the Hausa community in the state attended the funeral.

“They were coming back home after she visited her sister who was living in the nearby town. She and the four children were all wearing hijabs; that was why the gunmen targeted them.
As I’m talking to you, I’m in the process of recovering their corpses. The police have given me some documents which I will use to collect the corpses. I’m in the mortuary now, they are demanding N30, 000 from me before they will release the corpses of my family.
My hope is to take the corpses to Ganye Local Government Area in Adamawa State and bury them because the cemetery the Arewa community is using here is already filled.
“I’m now left with nobody; they have wiped out my entire family. I am so worried and in trauma, there is a need for the government to do something”. He said.

“EFCC has no legal justification for arresting dad” – Rochas Okorocha’s daughter speaks
Former Imo state governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha’s daughter, Uloma Nwosu, has spoken on her father’s arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
It can be recalled that EFCC invaded the Abuja residence of the presidential aspirant on Tuesday, May 24, to effect his arrest after he reportedly jumped bail and refused to accept court processes from the commission.
Speaking in an interview with Arise TV today May 25, Uloma claimed the EFCC operatives had no legal justification to arrest her dad.
According to her, they failed to present any legal document or arrest warrant to justify breaking into their Abuja home and forcefully arresting the politician.
“The way they (EFCC operatives) had presented themselves did not show that it was something that was official, because there was no legal documents supporting their action. So you could say it was illegal battery or whatever we may call it. At this point, I was also scared as well, because it didn’t look official, it didn’t look like something that was done right. So of course we were afraid for His Excellency’s life, and that is why he requested something that was simple: ‘give us a document, give us a paper, a court order.” Uloma said.
Speaking further, she added that no one has heard from him since he was arrested at about 6.30pm on Tuesday.

A rather hilarious encounter between a Nigerian man and a vlogger who’d asked him what he does to earn a living, has left netizens in stitches over the content.
The content creator, who develops content by spotting exotic rides and asking their owners what they do for a living, spotted an elderly Nigerian man in a 2018 Kia Optima and tried asking him about his profession.
The manner with which the elderly man responded to the vlogger is what has has people cracked up — as a typical Nigerian man that he is, he asked the young man why he didn’t approach him first with a greeting before asking him what he does for a living.
The vlogger, with handle, @official_ph_mano, then apologizes and what followed is a conversation which eventually led to the elderly man telling what he actually does for a living.

The user with the handle, @webdevS35 revealed that his affair with his cousin began after he caught her having sex with a guy. He revealed that his cousin had lied about not feeling fine in order to evade church one Sunday, however she brought a man home to have sex with him after the rest of the house had gone to church.

Nigerian Singer, songwriter and Rapper, Akanbi Bamidele Brett has taken to his social media page to bemoan the fact that he was snubbed by The Headies Award yet again.
According to Cheque, the Headies have failed to recognize his music another year running as they didn’t consider him in the Rap category.

Police arrest woman for allegedly duping job seekers of over N10m in Niger state
The Niger State Police Command has paraded before newsmen a 28-year-old woman for allegedly defrauding over 50 unsuspecting job seekers out of over N10 million.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the suspect, Patience Adamu, who was arrested alongside her husband and three other suspects, amassed over N10 million from the National Examination Council (NECO) job scam.
Abiodun disclosed that the suspects collected N500,000 each from some of the unsuspecting victims for a job replacement offer at the National Examination Council (NECO) Headquarters.
Patience, who confessed to the crime, noted that she planned to refund money to her victims as her intention was to raise money for business purposes.
“On 20/05/2022 at about 1230hrs, based on a tip off that suspected syndicate of job scammer(s) were sighted at a hotel in Minna, documenting some applicants for placement into the National Examination Council (NECO) Headquarters Minna.
“On the receipt of this information, Police operatives attached to Intelligence Unit of the Command swung into action and arrested the following suspects: Patience Adamu,28yrs ‘f’ of Talba Estate Kpakungu, Minna, Mathew Samson aged 48yrs ‘m’ of same address, Godwin Mathew aged 35yrs ‘m’ of Kaduna State, Emmanuel David aged 35yrs ‘m’ of Kaduna State and Peter Samuel aged 29 yrs ‘m’ of Kaduna State
“During interrogation, Patience confessed that she had contacted about ten unsuspecting members of the public since the year 2020 till date for a job replacement offer at NECO with a payment of #500,000 each. She confessed further that each of the victims made half payment and to pay the balance after issuing them with appointment letter
“However, she claimed to have arranged a fake documentation for the victims as one of them was pressurizing for the next stage of the job placement, while she invited three persons from Kaduna State in conspiracy with her husband, Mathew Samson to carry out the fake documentation.
“She said her intention was to raise money for business purpose and to refund the victims afterwards and that she has no employment offer at NECO or anywhere.
“In the course of investigation, over 50 victims have been discovered to have fallen into this act of job racketeering with an amount of over ten (10) million naira swindled. Members of the public are equally advised to be wary of job scammers of this nature and avoid desperation in the name of seeking for employment.” The statement read.

Nigerian singer, Adelabu Alexander, better known as Magixx, is elated after receiving a message from superstar singer, Wizkid.
The Grammy award winner on Tuesday night acknowledged Magixx’s talent in a message he sent to him via his verified Instagram page.
The music icon described Magixx as a superstar and encouraged him to keep excelling in his craft. In the chat, Wizkid told him, “Shine on superstar.”
This made Magixx so excited that he vowed to go to bed without eating after the message came in.
The Mavin Records signee shared a screenshot of the message he received rom Wizkid on Twitter and captioned it, “It’s official! I no Dey chop this night.”
In other news, legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, professionally known as 2Baba, has described superstar singer, Wizkid, as one of the legends of this generation.
2Baba stated this during an interview, while noting that Wizkid is deserving of the legendary title unlike many other acts who are called legends.
He added that Wizkid is very sound lyrically but he chooses to release the type of songs that appeal to the young audience of today.
Meanwhile, Wizkid has revealed he got inspired to do make music from one of Africa’s biggest act, Innocent Idibia A.K.A 2baba.
“No conscience” – Gov Wike slams ex-Ministers, Rotimi Amaechi and Emeka Nwajiuba, for wanting to be president when there’s trouble in their ministries
The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has berated former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, for wanting to be President when they couldn’t execute their duties effectively as ministers.
This comes after the past Ministers declared interest in contesting in the forthcoming Presidential election in 2023, and purchased the APC form pegged at N100 million.
Reacting to this development, Wike speaking at a political gathering in Oyo state on Tuesday, May 24, said the ministers have no conscience for seeking to be president when there are unresolved issues in their respective Ministries.
His words,
“Nigerians know my views. I believe in restructuring. I believe in state police. You cannot stop insecurity in this country without state police which is the practice in all countries that run true federalism. Intelligence is key. Before it happens you’ve stopped it or cage them.
Look at it, 42 people died in train blast, up until now no concrete report. This is a country where a Minister of Transport, after people died in such accident and the next day, he went and collected forms for presidency.
You’re a Minister of Education, schools have closed for how many months, the next thing; the minister went and collected form for presidency. I have not seen a country like this, no conscience.”
Nigerian man in court for stalking a woman in the UK
A 26-year-old Nigerian man, Oluwaseyi Elemide, was charged with stalking a woman in the United Kingdom.
Elemide admitted stalking a beautician identified as Demi Witter, who he failed to impress after pestering her, banging on the windows of her London salon, and sending unwelcome emails.
He pleaded guilty to stalking 28-year-old Ms. Witter, involving serious alarm and distress last July.
Between July 20 and July 27, last year, he harassed Demi Witter at her Lavender Hill salon in Battersea, bringing a gift of tea and a note, banging on the salon windows, and following her on Instagram, according to Mail Online.
Wimbledon Magistrates Court heard that the accountant even wrote Demi a clumsy romantic poem, “Roses are red, violets are blue. We fit together like a bespoke three-piece and dapper shoes.”
In a victim impact statement, Ms. Witter said, “His behaviour is frightening and I am worried he will wait outside and follow me home. He turned up unannounced three times in a week.”
“I think he is infatuated with me and I am stressed out and anxious because of this. I have to work with the door locked and I am afraid he will confront me in the street.” She added.
Prosecutor Corran Helme told the court Elemide first approached the beautician in the street.
“He tried to engage her in conversation and informed her he had his own business and engaged in an arms-length business level and she told him she was not interested.
“She gave him her business card and week later received an email from the defendant, explaining he could help her business and she replied, informing him no help was needed. However, he did not stop and began following her on Instagram. She blocked him and he sent her an email.” He told the court.
Elemide wrote, “How are you? Some of the content was good on Instagram. You blocked me, what did I do to deserve that?”.
He then attended the victim’s busy salon and left a box of teabags and a greeting card wishing her luck.
Ms. Witter then told Elemide to grow up and asked how old he was, repeating he was not welcome at the salon and she would call the police if she saw him again.
Two minutes later Elemide returned to the salon window, showing Ms. Witter a post-it note with his age written on it.
