16-year-old girl arrested for ‘stealing’ three-day-old baby from hospital
A 16-year-old girl has been arrested by the police for allegedly stealing a three-day-old baby girl from the district hospital.
It was gathered that the teenager, a resident of Nyabyeya village in Budongo sub-county in Masindi district, posed as an attendant at the maternal ward in Masindi General Hospital.
She then approached a new mum identified as Sarah Nanjinga, 25, and convinced her to hand over her baby so she can relieve her of the child while she rests.
Nanjinga, who had just delivered her baby by C-section at the hospital on April 28, 2022, handed over the infant to the stranger.
The suspect later disappeared with the baby, prompting Nanjinga to report the case to Masindi Central Police station.
Dr. Felix Twinomugisha, the Medical Superintendent at Masindi General hospital said the supervisors at the ward were not aware that the suspect, who had reportedly spent four days in the ward, was posing as an attendant.
He cautioned mothers to be careful with their newborn babies at the various health facilities in the district, adding that there are many people targeting newborn babies.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson said the teenager was arrested in her hideout in Nyabyeya village and found her with the stolen baby.
“She is currently being held at the police station whereas investigations proceed to find out how the baby was stolen from Masindi hospital,” Hakiza said.
The police spokesperson said once police investigations are through, the suspect will appear in court on charges of baby theft.

Speculations of their breakup has been on since 2021 as in October 2021, Emmanuel stated that Liquorose is not his girlfriend and they will now be going after what pushed them into signing up for the reality show.

“Liquorose and I are good, there is no need to keep talking about it. We are not dating. We both came into the house for a reason and we are going after it. But she is not my girlfriend.”
In another interview with The Sun, Liquorose averred though she is open to being in love, she will be taking her time being getting involved.

Israel DMW, the personal logistics manager of popular entertainer and music executive, Davido, has revealed the amount the singer spends on his haircut.
Taking to his Instastory on Thursday, May 5, Israel shared a photo of the music superstar getting a haircut and disclosed that he shelled out N100,000 for it.
Israel, who is very vocal about his love and loyalty for his boss, stated that he would rather stay without getting a haircut than spend that much on one.

Nigerian policewoman arrested for faking her own kidnap to fund her wedding
A Nigerian policewoman, Naomi Danlami, has been arrested for allegedly faking her own kidnap in order to extort ransom from well-wishers.
The Abuja-based police sergeant is reported to have staged her own kidnap to raise money for her wedding.
News of her claimed kidnap was shared on Facebook on Wednesday, April 19, just one day after she announced her engagement on the platform, according to FIJ.
It was gathered that when her family called her phone number, her supposed abductors said they didn’t want money but just wanted to kill her.
“Some of her friends in various social media groups started posting about raising funds for her, saying it would make her abductors free her. During the fundraising exercise, there were dissenting voices who expressed doubts about the abduction story. Some of her colleagues said she had a history of criminal behavior; they said she was not truthful, not to be trusted, and that her lifestyle was wayward.
As efforts to secure her release intensified, Usman Baba-Alkali, the Inspector-General of Police, ordered the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) to fish out Danlami’s abductors. When the IRT got to work, they revealed her last known location to be somewhere in Nasarawa State.
Danlami would suddenly appear on Saturday, claiming she escaped from the kidnappers’ den where she was molested. She was reported to have insisted on returning to work as though nothing happened, to the surprise of those around her, consequently raising suspicion from the Force Headquarters.
“We all thought that if she was kidnapped and molested in addition, the first thing for her to do was go to a hospital for examination and possible treatment, not to show up at work straightaway”, a source said.

A social media slay queen has been nabbed and arraigned in court after allegedly sending a fake bank credit alert of N1.3 million to an online hair vendor.
It was gathered the lady had sent a popular Instagram hair vendor the sum of N1.3 million as payment for her hair, but it turned out the alert was fake.
A viral video shows the moment she was accosted, and a later part of the video shows her in court.
In the video, the lady was seen begging profusely.
Another Instagram hair vendor, in response to the viral video, claims that the same lady defrauded her of N650,000 in 2020.

This comes after a Lagos big girl was humiliated and apprehended, after she connived with her boyfriend to send a fake alert to a Gold Vendor, following a purchase.
However, the girl was busted when the vendor tracked the girl to her house and took a military man there to demand “real payment”.

Man collects $5000 loan to purchase engagement ring for lady who eventually dumped him
A Nigerian lady who previously worked as a debt collector, has revealed the item a debtor of her company collected loan to purchase.
@General_Oluchi on Twitter, took to the micro-blogging platform to disclose that the debtor collected $5,000 loan to buy an engagement ring for his girlfriend.
She said the man who collected the loan, later revealed that his girlfriend dumped him despite collecting a huge loan to please her.

“During my days as a debt collector, I had access to some debtors’ expenses. For example, if a bank hires the company I worked for to collect a debt for them, they will give us a statement to see what the debtor spent the money on. Surprisingly, some paid bills with the money, some bought a car, some took a trip, did some shopping etc., but the most ridiculous item on that list to me was buying an engagement ring with a loan.
To me, this is something that could wait. One can get married without an engagement ring and it wouldn’t matter.
But seeing a debt of $5,000 for a ring was unreasonable.
When I called one of the debtors to discuss a payment plan, he grumbled and sighed saying, “me and the woman I bought the ring for, are no longer together yet I still gotta pay this loan?”
I didn’t ask him for the full story, and I didn’t care. It wasn’t my job to hear the gist. I wanted to lock him in on a payment plan since he couldn’t afford the full payment.
Based on the arrangement I set for him, it would take him 2 years to pay off that loan.
So many men are in this predicament and dying silently. There are things you should never take a loan for.”
Alleged one-chance victim in Kaduna is exposed as a clout chaser as real owner of the photo she posted as evidence calls her out
The Nigerian lady who took to Twitter to call for help after allegedly boarding a “one-chance taxi” in Kaduna earlier today has been exposed as a clout chaser.
The lady identified as @Lima_Modu on Twitter took to the platform at 12:08 am on Thursday, May 5, 2022, to call for help, claiming she had entered a “one-chance” taxi in Kaduna and she and other passengers were being driven to a “dark place”. ICYMI.
She later gave an update, alleging that she was beaten, almost raped, and that the attackers went away with her phone, but she survived the attack and was rushed to the hospital by some JTF guys.
She also claimed that one of the passengers in the taxi was stabbed.
However, when she shared the photo of the alleged victim, it was discovered that it was a photo from an old Facebook post.
A Twitter user whose friend had shared the photo in February called her out for sharing a fake story and shared receipts to back up his claims.
He further revealed that the lady blocked him after he called her out and had blocked the man who originally shared the photo in February before putting up the post.

“I’m sorry, by the time you get this, I won’t be alive anymore” – Former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst’s tragic final text to her mother moments before jumping to her death revealed
Miss USA 2019, Cheslie Kryst’s tragic final text to her mother moments before jumping to her death from her New York City apartment has surfaced.
It was earlier reported that the 30-year-old jumped from a 60-storey Orion building at 350 W. 42nd Street in the early hours of Sunday, January 30.
Kryst, who lived on the ninth floor of the building, was last seen on a terrace on the 29th floor, and she was said to have been alone when she leapt to her death.
Few hours before she jumped, Kryst took to her Instagram page to share a photo of herself with the caption, “May this day bring you rest and peace.”
It was gathered that Kryst left a note giving everything to her mother, but she didn’t explain why she decided to take her own life. The said note has, however, now surfaced.
“First, I’m sorry, by the time you get this, I won’t be alive anymore. And it makes me even more sad to write this because I know this will hurt you the most.” The message read in part.
The deceased’s mother revealed on Red Table Talk that she ‘near blacked out’ after reading the message.
“By the time I had read the text, an hour had passed,’ she told host Jada Pinkett-Smith, her daughter Willow Smith, Pinkett-Smith’s mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris. Kryst had sent her mother the text while she knew she’d be in an exercise class.
“I [remember] calling my husband and screaming “what, what” and we got home and just trying to figure out what to do. I had not read the rest of her message, I just couldn’t”. She said.
April added that she instantly took the text seriously because this was her daughter’s second suicide attempt. She had previously attempted suicide in her early 20s, her mother said.
The long message went on to say,
“I love you mom, and you are my best friend, and the person I’ve lived for for years. I wish I could say with you, but I cannot bear the crushing weight of persistent sadness, hopelessness, and loneliness any longer. I’ve never told you these feelings, because I never wanted you to worry, and because I hoped they would eventually change, but I know they never will.
They follow me through every accomplishment, success, family gather, friendly dinner – I cry almost every day now, like I’m in mourning. I wished for death for years. And I know you would want to know and want to help, but I haven’t wanted to share this weight with anyone.
“Regardless of that, thank you sincerely being there for me in some of my loneliness moments without me even telling you I needed you. You have kept me alive and ready to face another day, because you answer every phone call and you are there for me at the drop of a hat. You listen to me and care when I tell you what goes on in my life and you’ve always made me feel as if you loved me.
“I love you more than any person I’ve ever known. You’ve done nothing wrong, you’ve done everything right. I no longer feel like I have any purpose in life. I don’t know if I ever really did.”
Simpkins refused to disclose her daughter’s final wishes and also skipped the more personal parts of the message.
Her mother revealed she knew her daughter was struggling with depression, but didn’t know the severity of it.
She also said she started to realize her daughter’s ‘smiles were a little forced’ and she encouraged Kryst to call when she needed help.
Also in the text, Kryst gave her mother permission to share the suicide note so the world would know how much a good mother she was. She also revealed she didn’t think she could repair her friendships and ‘escape’ loneliness.
“I’ve pushed away most of my friends, and I can’t fix any of it no matter how hard I’ve tried.’ she wrote. ‘So, I will leave and rejoin God in heaven and hope to find peace there. I don’t want to leave, but I genuinely feel like I have to if I want to escape my loneliness that feels like it has no end. I fought against depression for a long time, but it’s won this time around.
“There aren’t enough words in the world to describe my love and appreciation for you. You are the perfect mom and I will love you forever, even in death. Feel free to share this message. People should know that you are the best mom in the world and that you were the best mom to me I ever could have hoped for.”

“This is senseless and unhealthy” – New dad comes under fire for spraying his newborn with naira notes (video)
A new dad has sparked outrage on social media after he shared a video of himself spraying his newborn baby with naira notes.
The Nigerian man identified as comedian and actor, MC Noni, took to his Instagram page on Thursday, May 4 to announce the arrival of his bundle of joy.
However, instead of congratulatory messages, the new father was chastised for spraying new naira notes on his newborn baby an action that many deemed unhealthy.
In the video, the proud father, who apparently couldn’t wait to hold his baby in his arms, walked right to the cot where the baby, who was on oxygen was lying and made it rain 100 naira notes on the little one.
The video drew a lot of backlash, with many fans stating that he went too far by spraying money on a small child.
Reacting, an Instagram follower @nimhs.xx wrote, “My own is you should have hugged that woman, and let her know how much you appreciate her not this ur 100notes from yaba”.
@uyiosaimade, “This is very insensitive. What happened to spraying your wife, can’t you see that she is in so much pain? Orishirishi mtsheeew”.

The 35-year-old who is the founder and managing partner of an investment management firm, said that she and her team were removed from a project in Africa because of their nationality as Nigerians.
She however didn’t mention the Africa country where the incident happened.

Popular Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has gotten people talking on social media after she showed off her acrobatic skills at a water park.
The mother of one and aspiring politician had taken her son, King Andre, to the Splash Water Park in Abuja, and decided to join in the fun, instead of watching her son have fun like most moms do.
Taking to her Instagram page on Wednesday, May 4, Tonto Dikeh shared a video that highlighted their fun moments at the park, including them having fun in the play area and the sumptuous meal they ate.
In the clip, the actress is seen doing a summersault which seemingly revealed her groin region, and this has stirred reactions from netizens.
While some pointed out that they saw “something” in the video, others praised the actress for knowing how to have fun and bringing out her inner child when necessary despite being 36 years old.

A Nigerian lady has called out her step-mom on Facebook over a post supporting Yul Edochie’s marriage to his second wife, Judy Austin.
The lady identified as Kelechi Moon said her father’s second wife, who she identified as Chioma Okechukwueze, came into her family and destroyed her parents’ 35 years of marriage.
She declared that Chioma is supporting Yul Edochie’s second marriage because she’s a second wife herself.
Kelechi’s post calling out her father’s second wife was met with mixed reactions, with many dragging her. However, replying to people critiquing her post, she said people who have not been victims of polygamy would not understand her pain.

World’s only nonuplets in perfect health as they celebrate first birthday
The record breaking nonuplets born in Morocco to a Malian couple on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, have celebrated their first birthday.
YabaleftOnline reported that their 26-year-old mother, identified as Halima Cissé, welcomed all nine babies – 5 girls and 4 boys – in a single delivery in 2021.
The boys were named Mohammed VI, Oumar, Elhadji, Bah, while the girls were named Kadidia, Fatouma, Hawa, Adama and Oumou. Read here
Their father who is an officer in the Malian Army, Adelkader Arby, speaking in an interview with BBC Afrique, said all the babies are in good health.
“They’re all crawling now. Some are sitting up and can even walk if they hold on to something. They are still in the care of the clinic in Morocco where they were born,” he said, adding that their mother Halima, was also doing well.
“It’s not easy but it’s great. Even if it’s tiring at times, when you look at all the babies in perfect health, from right to left we’re relieved. We forget everything,” he added.
Mr Arby, who just returned to Morocco for the first time in six months with their first daughter, aged three, to reunite with his wife and the nonuplets, said they will throw a small party with the nurses and a few other people to celebrate the kids as they turn one.
Mrs Cissé and the kids are currently living in a “medicalized flat” owned by the owners of the Ain Borja clinic in Casablanca where the babies were born.
“There are nurses who are here, in addition to my wife, who help to take care of the children,” Mr Arby said.
“The clinic has given them a menu which says what to give them to eat at all times – night and day,” he continued.
He added that the babies have different personalities – while some are exceptionally quiet, others are noisy and cry a lot, while some others liked to be carried.
Mr Arby also appreciated the Malian government for its help, and revealed that many Malians are looking forward to seeing the babies with their own eyes.
Praying for couples trying to have children, he said, “I hope God blesses everyone who doesn’t yet have children – that they can have what we, the parents of nonuplets currently have. It’s beautiful, a real treasure.”

Singer, Davido reacts after Israel DMW advised him to stop helping people (video)
Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has reacted after his logistics manager, Israel DMW, advised him to reduce his philanthropic activities.
The singer, who has given out millions of naira in charity and helped a lot of underground artistes rise to fame, took to his Instagram page to share a video in which Israel advised him to tone down his goodwill gestures.
According to Israel who is also a beneficiary of Davido’s good nature, people still drag the singer and criticize him because of his father’s wealth despite all his selfless donations to people in need.
“As you dey help people, them dey vex say you too get money…” he said.
He then advised the Omo Baba Olowo to stop helping people since they don’t appreciate him enough.

A young Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to cry out for help after she boarded a “one-chance taxi” in Kaduna.
In the tweet, the lady identified as @Lima_Modu on the micro-blogging platform, said she boarded a “one-chance” taxi in Kaduna and she and other passengers were being driven to a “dark place”.
The cry for help came at 12:08 am on Thursday, May 5, 2022.
“I just boarded a one chance taxi along Nmadi express way in kaduna, they are driving us into a dark place. Please I need help hglpflb”, her tweet read.
In an updated tweet moments ago, the lady revealed she was beaten, almost raped, and the attackers went away with her phone, but she survived the attack and was rushed to the hospital by some JTF guys.
“I was on a journey, our car keep developing issues which made up got into kaduna late, we were three coming to kaduna while the remaining passenger were going to kaduna, the three of us boarded the taxi and we all survived by the grace of the most Almighty….
I was rushed to the school clinic by some JTF guys, I was beating, I was almost raped, took everything including my phone, my acct was wiped even after pleading with them that the money was a loan for my business rather I got slapped. I am fine for now and will be off for a while.
The other guy was stabbed multiple times because he was dragging and trying to see we are safe, please include him in prayers, don’t know if he’s still alive or dead. Will talk about this when I am calm, settled and okay. Thank you to everyone who tried to reach out to me. I appreciate”, she wrote.
