6 worshippers critically injured as church collapses in Lagos state
No fewer than six people were severely injured after the Deeper Life Bible Church, located in the Iragbo community in Badagry, Lagos state, collapsed on Sunday, April 24.
According to a member of the church, Mr. Topohozin Tunde, who also sustained a serious knee injury, heavy rain, followed by a heavy storm, caused the church building to collapse at around 9:30 a.m. yesterday.
“I also sustained a serious knee injury, but thank God no life was lost. Just around 9:30 this morning, during the church service, there was a heavy storm which hit the church building, and before we could know what was happening, the whole church building collapsed. Some were able to escape, while about six of us sustained serious injuries. Those that were seriously injured were taken to the General Hospital in Badagry for proper attention. Since my injury is not much, I decided to take care of myself”. Tunde, told NAN.
In related news, a family of six comprising of a man, his wife, and their four children lost their lives after the building they reside in, collapsed at Yaldu in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi state.
According to reports, the building came crumbling after many days of rainfall in the area.
The family who were in the building when it collapsed, all perished and have since been buried according to Islamic injunctions.

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tolulope Ajayi, professionally known as TClassic, has been hospitalized for an undisclosed illness.
However, viral reports claim the musician was poisoned while hanging out with his friends on Sunday.
Following the event, he was brought to the hospital, where he is presently undergoing treatment.
Tclassic took to Twitter to share a photo of himself in a hospital bed and give an update on his health, but he did not confirm or deny the viral rumor.

Men of the Kwara State Police have apprehended a 35-year-old man, Wasiu Omonose and his accomplice, Akanbi Ibrahim, 32, for being in possession of human parts.
The suspected ritualists were arrested during a stop and search at Old Ilorin/Jebba Road in Ilorin East LGA of the state, on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
According to reports, the suspects, who were on a motorcycle, were reportedly found with a bag containing the head of a boy and two hands.

“How I switched from gospel to secular music” – Rema reveals
Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor better known as Rema, has recounted the story of how he made a transition from gospel to secular music.
According to him, the switch began when he started going to sing at bars and lounges just so he could make ends meet — the Benin-born singer disclosed that before then, he was the head of a gospel rap group in his church.
The singer gave this revelation during a talk show, Rubbin’ Minds show on Channels TV, monitored by The PUNCH on Sunday.
In his words,
“I was still in Benin when that switch happened. A lot of people thought that when I got signed, I started deviating.
“No. Actually, life was tough in Benin. I’m not that guy to ask the people in church to pay me because I’m doing God’s work.
“Right there in Benin, I started going to competitions, going to bars, lounges, political rallies; just trying to get on the stage and hold a microphone, to at least get sprayed some money to come back home and feed my family, because we were going through tough times.
“I lost my father and brother and I needed to come through for my family. At that point in time, I felt like that’s where I started spacing out; little by little, until I just exiled.”
Rema revealed that the transition was weird for him and his mum but he was unable to convince the latter about his choice.
“It was weird for me and most especially for my mum because she was well known in church. I didn’t do any much explaining. I just told her to trust me,” Rema said.

A Nigerian man identified as Olami Phomat has taken to his Instagram page to lament after rats vandalized his certificates and curriculum vitae after eight years of seeking a Job.
The disgruntled man said he has a family to feed but he hasn’t been able to land a good job so it was just very unfortunate that “Nigerian Rats” would do this to him.

A little girl who lost a battle to cancer has melted heart on social media with a letter she left for her Father’s female friend who was by her sick bed and comforted her through the period of her sickness.
According to the deceased whose name was given as Christabel, her Father’s friend treated her with much love more than her own mother did and her dying wish is to have her marry her Father after she’s gone.
The little girl also said that when she gets to heaven, she will ask Jesus to send her Father plenty money so he’d use to marry her.
The little girl’s letter reads in parts;
I want to tell you to please marry my daddy when I die okay?
I love you so much because you are a good person than my mother.
My mother changed when the doctor said I have cancer and will die at any time.
But you always kiss me and tell me how beautiful I am.

A Nigerian man has taken to micro-blogging platform, Twitter to declare that he will never leave his family again, no matter what.
According to the man with the handle @ihe09, he once left his family and was away for 5 years but upon rejoining them, his kids morality had taken a turn for the worse.
He added that some women cannot take care of children and if you leave them alone with them, they will become wayward.

Nigerian Music executive, Actor and Politician, Banky W has finally replied Music producer, Samklef, after the latter accused the former of owing him unpaid royalties from Wizkid’s royalty album.
Samklef shared an image of the royalty sheet and wrote;

Banky in his reply, insisted that he’s never gotten a dime from the royalties and he has never controlled it.

Adamu Garba begs Nigerians for money to purchase APC N100m Presidential form
Nigerian Politician, Adamu Garba, has taken to social media to solicit for funds to enable him purchase the APC Presidential form which his set at One Hundred Million Naira.

Actress Kemi Apesin tracks down and accosts lady who trolled her online (video)
Nollywood actress, Kemi Apesin, otherwise known as Kemity, recently hunted down and confronted an online troll.
While addressing the young girl in a video that went viral, the actress said she was always leaving vile comments under her posts on Instagram.
Kemity reached out to the troll disguised as a man and requested that they meet for ‘hookup’, in order to apprehend her.
The actress also revealed that the troll accused her of going to Dubai to sleep with men, and that she and her partner will soon break up.
The lady, who was visibly frightened by the confrontation, claimed that she deleted the comments almost immediately. Kemity then dug out her comments on her page, and the lady began apologising profusely.

The young man identified as Moemudi on Twitter averred that there’s no unmarried lady over the age of 30 who is content with her situation.

Over 100 youths die from explosion at illegal Oil bunkering site in Imo State (GRAPHIC VIDEO)
No fewer than hundreds persons reportedly lost their lives in an explosion that occurred at an illegal bunkering site in Abaezi forest, Imo State.
According to reports, the incident which occurred at about 11 pm on Friday, April 22, left about one hundred and fifty others seriously injured.
DailyPost reported that an eyewitness said;
“The fire was even entering the bush, we saw the people that were inside, no one was seen coming out.
People were also scared going close the place but later when people got there, they found out it was over hundred persons that were burnt and one hundred and fifty others who sustained serious burns were rushed into the villages for treatment.”
The Imo State Commissioner for Petroleum Resources, Goodluck Opiah, said ;
“Apart from this calamity, the act has destroyed the acqatic life of the community. Our people before now are predorminantly farmers and fishermen.
“Look around, you’ll find smokes coming from this illegal act. If this is not enough for any person to stop, I think the community is heading for what I can’t describe.
“Most of the people who are engaging in this act are from Rivers, Bayelsa and other neigbouring States and it is sabotage for our people to allow this illegal act to continue.
“I wish to appeal to our youths to desist from making themselves available for this illegal act. This is a sucidal business they got themselves into.
“On behalf of Imo State Government, we condole with the berieved family. Imo State Government pray God gives the family of those who lost their lives the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
The owner of the illegal bunkering site has also been declared wanted by the Government.
