Nigerian activist and lawyer, Reno Omokri has called out DSTV for assigning channel 419 to the Nigerian government-owned broadcaster, NTA.
Reno in a post he shared on his Instagram page, asserted that it’s a deliberate attempt to mock and de-market Nigeria and it’s citizens.
According to him, DSTV assigning 419 which is synonymous with fraud to NTA carries a powerful subliminal message about the country.
He further chided the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, and the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation for not taking any action against it.
He wrote,
“Why has DSTV, a South African company operating in Nigeria, chosen to give the Nigerian Television Authority, @NTANetwork, the frequency channel of 419?
That is NOT a coincidence. It is a deliberate action. It is subversive and carries a very powerful subliminal message that demarkets Nigeria as a brand.
It is a mockery of our nation and its citizens. And if Lai Mohammed was alive to his responsibilities, @DSTVNigeria ought to be answering questions!
The Nigerian Broadcast Commission, that ought to have spotted this, are instead more focused on sanctioning radio and TV stations that criticise the Buhari administration. What a pity!”

6 BBoys and 6 lockers emerged regional finalists in episode 3 of the Glo Battle of the Year Nigeria reality tv show which aired on GloTV, the company’s streaming app on Saturday February 19, 2020 with repeat broadcasts on NTA and AIT.
With their victory, the regional winners will head over to Lagos where they will take part in the semi-finals and finals of the competition.
The show opened with mild drama in Abuja as BBoy Off, was almost sent off the competition after he had a fainting fit just before his battle with Bboy Vic. Medics wanted him sent home but an emotional Off had assured them that he could go ahead. Alas, his difficulty breathing and the toll from his fainting spell cost him the prize leaving Lil Vic to proudly announce that “I came, I saw, I conquered.”
Bboy Whirlz made easy work of BBoy Jerry as they battled for the top position in Benin. For Whirlz, who dedicated his victory to his mother, his win was proof perfect that he is qualified to lead the Dance Guild of Nigeria as president.
If you have seen the movie 12 years a Slave then you will understand why BBoy SixGod was ecstatic after he humbled Prym to take the prize in Enugu. After 7 years as a dancer, the dark skinned and well-toned dancer could finally brag that he is not just a dancer but an award-winning one.
In Port Harcourt, Lil Monster’s efforts proved too little to defeat the exceptional and introverted Midnight in a keenly fought battle while Bboy Trixx proved himself to be a man of skills as he kept dipping into his bag of tricks to bamboozle his opponent. At the end of the duel, the two time champion showed that Bboy Lym was no match as he was crowned king in Kaduna.
Bboy Famous’ dreams of victory and helping out with the family came to a screeching halt as he was vanquished by his hard fighting opponent, Lil Dan who showed his mettle as he came into the finals with an injured knee and yet triumphed.
Six lockers emerged across the cities and will also be making their way to Lagos for the finals. A stand-out locker was Christiana Gift who emerged winner in Port Harcourt.
Two new judges, Frank Okwara and Locking Si’on were introduced alongside others like Bboys JC Jedor, Big Flow and Gidnasty. More judges would be unveiled in Episode 4 as the show progresses to the Afro dance category.
Meanwhile viewers can decide whether any of the finalists can come back to the competition. All you have to do is go to www.globotynigeria.com and vote for the dancer you want saved.
Viewers can also win N200,000 by participating in the fans challenge just by making a video of them dancing to the Glo BOTY theme song, uploading on any platform on social media using to the hashtag #GloBattleOfTheYear and tagging Glo. The top four videos with the highest engagements get to win N50,000 each.

The source added that the parents of the dead female, simply identified as Adaeze, had been calling her phone line for some days without any response. When she didn’t answer her calls, her parents became bothered and reported to the Police.
The parents in company with the security operatives stormed the hostel to check on her, but they met her door tightly locked. On forcing the door open, they found the two students lying dead in the room.

However, drama started as soon as the case file of the suspect was called and he was asked to move into the witness box to take an oath.
On reaching the witness box, the court clerk called his name to know if he understood the English language or Hausa language, so as to know how to administer the oath for him, but he did not respond and instead kept starring at the court without uttering a word.
Everyone in the court was baffled as the court clerk called him several times but he did not respond.
In his explanation, Counsel for the defendant N. E Jesse (Esq) told the Court that Oko was not mentally stable, as his senses fluctuates.

Reacting to Jesse (Esq) submission, Muleng Alex (Esq), Counsel for the Prosecution told the court that the medical report before the court shows otherwise.
Muleng claimed that the defendant spoke very well to his Counsel in English language before the matter was called.

I accepted her friend request and she sent me a massage “Hello” since I was still online. I replied “Hi, I heard you are in a serious relationship ” I responded, “Yes”. she said, “I used to have a huge crush on you and I was afraid to tell you but I’m not afraid anymorereally love you and I’m willing to do whatever it takes just to be part of your life”.
HmmmI quickly closed the chat to make sure my partner was sleepingand I just slid off the bed and sat my ass down and asked myself is this girl worth my time.
I looked at my lovely wife , she was deeply sleeping after the busy and exhausting day she had from taking care of our son and chores. As I was still looking at her, something came into my mind. “This woman doesn’t deserve to be cheated on, look at how safe and comfortable she’s sleeping in our bed. She really trusts me so much that I can’t hurt her” I started thinking, ” she left her family, her caring mother and father, who at all times were providing almost everything she needed and her siblings who always brightened her day. But she decided to leave all that behind just to come and share her entire life with me. All these thoughts and more were driving me crazy. Then I asked myself, “how can I do this wickedness to this innocent woman?”
So I hurriedly picked up my phone and hit the “BLOCK” button.I turned to my lovely wife and I rolled over to the bed and cuddled her and she adjusted herself to accommodate me♥️ I can’t afford to lose her trust or make her cry. Never!
I really hope my bond with my partner doesn’t break, I really love my Ayanda Chantell Mnyambo ”

A Nigerian Twitter user has averred that female medics in Nigeria are “hardly ever desired for who they are” as most men want them just because of their profession.
In a series of Twitter rants, the lady noted that once a woman tells a Nigerian man she’s a doctor or a nurse, they bring up marriage without getting to know her.
She added that most Nigerian men see female medics as trophies, and most of these men are usually unwilling to support the female medics because they believe they have money.
To buttress her point, she quoted a tweet that stated that men drive around the Lagos University Teaching Hospital in search of female doctors and nurses.
In her words,
“It’s quite interesting and sad to see that Nigerian female medics are hardly ever desired for who they are. The moment you tell most Nigerian men you’re a doctor/nurse, they bring up marriage because to them, they’ve found a trophy.
They fixate on that little detail and get so immersed in it that, as far as they’re concerned, that’s all they need to know about you. They just want to be able to say “My wife is a doctor.”
Your entire personality doesn’t matter, they are not willing to spend on you like they would other girls, they just want that “trophy” in their house. And you spend so much time in school that by the time you graduate, these men think they are doing you a favour.”

Taking to his Instagram page, the comic actor stated that it’s women that should have bragging rights after having sex with a man and not the other way round because they have exclusive right to choose who they want to sleep with.
According to him, men shouldn’t brag because they can only sleep with women they “can” not women they “want”.
He wrote,
“As a man, don’t sleep with a woman and brag that you “used” her o. It’s a woman who should brag about using a man! Men only sleep with a woman they can BUT women sleep with men they want.. when they want, where they want and how they want.
If u get a woman laid, be respectful. Don’t brag except u just want to fool yourself. U did nothing to her instead she did everything to u!”

“My 5-year-old daughter HARMONY has always questioned me each time we drive together here in Nigeria; on why the police always stop and search my car with them inside as this doesn’t happen in Austria?
Here in Nigeria, police stop and search are so rampant that sometimes the police blocks are at every pole; while some do on security tip off, a large volume does illegally just to extort innocent citizens. My five years old daughter Harmony shares her disappointing her experience.”
