Hunters in Borno state have killed a lion in Sambisa Forest, which is located in the Konduga Local Council of the state.
The lion is said to have wandered from Cameroun’s Waza Game Reserve before being apprehended and killed by hunters on March 15.
Confirming the incident in Maiduguri, the Director of Forestry and Wildlife in the state’s Ministry of Environment, Peter Ayuba, said;
“The lion might have strayed from the Game Reserve of Cameroun. We have similar incidents of elephants from the Reserve entering villages in Kala/Balge council of the state.”

Five months after being abducted by bandits along the Kaduna-Abuja road, a Nigerian man has been reunited with his family.
According to a Twitter user, @aleeyudikko who shared the story on Twitter, another man who was sent to deliver a ransom to the kidnappers was also abducted and held hostage.

A suspected robber was apprehended after falling asleep in a car that he reportedly broke into in Palmview, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
According to a statement by Arrive Alive, the man was attempting to steal valuables inside the car when he seemingly decided to take a nap, which resulted in his arrest.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday morning, March 14.
“KZN VIP was alerted to this after the resident noticed his vehicle had been broken into. The suspect was detained by KZN VIP and handed over to SAPS,” the statement reads.
In related news, Police in West Texas say a robbery suspect is in custody after he was caught snoozing at the scene.
According to Abilene police, Kanyoni Sedekiya, 20, was armed with a gun at his apartment complex early Friday when he argued with his roommate, whom he then bound as he demanded money.
Authorities say Sedekiya then fell asleep.
The roommate managed to get free around 4 a.m., slip away to a neighbor’s apartment and summon police as Sedekiya was sleeping. Sedekiya surrendered without incident.
