A voice recording currently making the rounds online has captured a lady talking down on men who drive old models of Mercedes Benz.

The lady in the now viral audio recording said although she knows a 2012 Mercedes costs a fortune, she would never take a man who drives a 2012 Mercedes seriously if he woos her.

According to her, a seven million naira Benz is not a car to be proud of.

She added that if her friend wants to buy a Benz, even if he doesn’t buy a 2022 model, he should endeavor to buy from 2016 upwards, not a 2012 Benz.

The lady, who appears to have no car of her own, noted that she would never buy an old model Benz if she choses to get a car.

MAPOLY student reportedly arrested for buying contraceptives and pregnancy test strips in Ogun State

A young Nigerian lady has reportedly been arrested by the police for buying contraceptives and pregnancy test strips in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

According to a Twitter user identified as Olukoya Oluwatosin, who claimed to be the sister of the victim and took to the platform to seek help, the young lady, a student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, was arrested and detained at the police post in Oluwo, Abeokuta.

She revealed that the lady was later charged to the Ogun state police headquarters, Elewa Eran.

Taking to Twitter to seek help, while sharing photos of the lady in police custody, Oluwatosin wrote,

“My sister a student of mapoly just got arrested for going to buy postpill and pregnancy strip. She’s at police post Abeokuta. Please help me oooo this police thing don reach my side… I’d not know who else to contact

Fayemi who is based in Texas, US, took to video sharing platform TikTok to mark his one year anniversary of travelling to Nigeria to connect with his roots.

He visited Ile-Ife Ife in Osun state and underwent the initiation rites into Ifa worship. He also disclosed that he bought a piece of land in the community.

Controversial Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, has got people talking after he recently stormed a market and created a scene.

American rapper, Kanye West has replied to his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, after she claimed to be the main provider for their kids.

The drama started after the fashion designer shaded Kim for letting their 8-year-old daughter, North West, have a TikTok account without his permission.

“Since this is my first divorce, I need to know what I should do about my daughter being on Tik Tok against my will.” He wrote.

On seeing this, Kim took to her Insta-stories to react with a lengthy post. Kim explained that she’s doing her best to protect her daughter and at the same time allow her to express her creativity.

Kim Kardashian went on to note that she’s the main provider for their children and Kanye’s constant attacks on her in interviews and on social media are actually more hurtful than any TikTok their 8-year-old daughter might create.

“As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision – because it brings her happiness.” She said in part.

Reacting, Kanye shared a screenshot of Kim’s response and asked what she meant by being the main provider. He further alleged that Kim recently accused him of stealing and being on drugs at their child, Chicago’s party.

A viral video has captured the emotional moment a Nigerian mother reunited with her mentally challenged son, Bamidele, who went missing four years ago.

The young man, who was a 400-level student at Olabisi Onabanjo University, was found wandering on the streets by an NGO, South-Westshire Health Trust, who took him into their facility and has been taking care of him.

In the latest development, Bamidele started remembering a few things about his family and the NGO used the information he gave them to trace his mum.

Two days ago, the mum reunited with her son, and it was indeed an emotional moment.

In the viral video, the mother, seeing her son, burst into tears, hugged him, and kept asking if he could remember her.

Teenagers who killed 20-year-old girl for money ritual in Ogun remanded in prison

A magistrate court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun state, has ordered that the four teenagers who allegedly murdered 20-year-old Sofiat Kehinde be remanded in prison for two months.

The suspects, identified as Balogun Mustaqeem, 20; Majekodunmi Soliudeen, 18; Abdulgafar Lukman, 19; and Waris Oladeinde, 18, were arraigned on two counts of conspiracy and murder following their arrest on Saturday, January 29.

The suspects were apprehended on Saturday while they were burning the head of their victim, who is said to be a girlfriend to one of them, in a pot for a money ritual.

The prosecutor, Lawrence Balogun, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on January 28 at about 11:00 in the Kugba area of Abeokuta.

The prosecutor, who noted that the defendants murdered the victim with the plan to use her for money ritual, further disclosed that the offence committed contravenes sections 324 and 316 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006.

The presiding judge, I. O. Abudu, did not take the plea of the defendants and ordered that they should be remanded in prison custody.

Abudu ordered that the defendants be remanded in the Oba correctional facility pending legal advice from the Ogun State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).She adjourned the case until March 14 for mention.

It was gathered that the court premises was filled to the brim as the victim’s family and other sympathisers trooped to the court to witness the arraignment.

Nigerian Catholic priest, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, has averred that almost all miracles people see on television or in crusades are staged.

The priest stated this in a Facebook post on Thursday, February 3 while speaking on some of the signs to identify real miracles.

According to him, the first sign that a minister is fake is when he is being advertised ahead of a church program as a healer. He noted that anyone who truly has the gift of healing does not make a noise about it and won’t be comfortable when it is used.

He went on to state that almost all the so-called miracles people see on TV or in crusades are staged.

Few points to note:
1. It is a sign that the minister is fake when he is being advertised ahead of a church program as a healer. Anyone who truly has the gift of healing does not make noise about it and won’t be comfortable when it is used for an advert to pull crowd or to make him or her famous.

2. The “testimonies” you read at the back of a church flyer whenever they want to advertise a crusade or a program are often half-truths and concocted lies. Someone will tell you how she has been barren for 10 years and miraculously conceived and gave birth to twins after the “man of God” laid hands on her stomach, yet, just a little investigation into the case and you will discover that the woman did IVF. Why was that part of the story hidden?

3. Almost all the so-called miracles you see on TV or crusades are staged. Some are more of psychological manipulations than a miracle.

4. In the Catholic Church, for anything to pass as a TRUE miracle, it must be open to a third-party investigation. The third-party must be an independent person who plays the devil’s advocate.

5. You do not claim that a miracle has happened because someone stood up from a wheelchair in your “Three-day power-packed Miracle Signs and Wonders Revival with the anointed Prophet Dr. Evang Tom-Tom Chewing-gum.”

The ordinary questions should be:
Who is the person?
Where is the person coming from?
What is the medical condition as presented by a doctor?
Has it been concluded by experts and did they do a proper diagnosis prior to the miracle that it will be medically impossible for the person to walk again?
Asking those questions does not make you an unbeliever. Our faith is what St Anselm describe as Fides quaerens intellectum (faith seeking understanding).

A Nigerian man partook in a social experiment to test if his bestfriend is loyal to him but he failed woefully.

The plan was to use his girlfriend to test if his bestfriend would have his back and protect his relationship but the outcome caught him by surprise.

In the trending video, the man who was simply identified as Afo, had bragged about trusting his friend 100 percent, and that he would never disappoint him by falling for the prank.

As planned, his girlfriend placed a call to his bestfriend and told him that she has had feelings for him for a while but couldn’t say anything because of her boyfriend.

Initially, the said bestfriend was skeptical about her revelation but eventually admitted that he has also had eyes for her.

He further agreed to hangout with his friend’s girlfriend and to make matters worse, stated that he is already thinking of kissing her.

Afo who was listening the whole time, was extremely disappointed by his friend’s betrayal and stormed out of the scene.

Teacher shares touching letter she received from her nonverbal special needs student

A school teacher has taken to social media to share a touching note she received from a nonverbal special-needs student.

Sharing the note the teacher identified as @chanelchelle on popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, described it as the ‘sweetest note’.

In the note, the little boy who noted that he’s just trying to leave his shy zone said she’s the best and he loves her.

He added that he wish he had met her before and dropped his number so that they can talk sometimes.

The note reads,

“To my teacher,
You are the best! One day I might talk, I’m just trying to get comfortable to get out if my shy zone. Love you. I wish I met you before and also here is my phone number incase I want to talk to you sometimes. Lots of love to you”.

Sharing the snapshot of the heartfelt note via her Twitter handle, the teacher captioned it,

“My nonverbal special needs student wrote me the sweetest note this morning. He is the best”.

18-year-old Nigerian, Silas Nwankwo, joins a Swedish football club

The 18-year-old Nigerian striker, Silas Nwankwo has completed a move to Swedish outfit Mjällby AIF from Nasarawa United.

Silas was the joint-Top scorer in the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). He recorded 19 goals with eight assists to share the award with Charles Atshimene of Akwa United.

Silas joins Mjallby AIF of Sweden on a four-year deal until 2025. Hasse Larsson the sports director of Mjallby AIF in a statement in the official website of the club revealed that the club was delighted to have signed Nwankwo.
